[Q] Wall mount for the NC? - Nook Color Accessories

Do anyone knows of a wall mount for the Nook Color?
I´m thinking about replacing my Zenithink ZT-180 in the kitchen with my Nook Color (I like to have a tablet for reading recipes and listening to streamed music from my NAS) and would like a wall mount with the same kind of clasps the ordinary cases use for easy removal.
I guess i could buy a case and remove the clasps but ideally I would like a backplate to mount to the wall.
Anyone have a suggestion?
I HAVE already tried velco, a plate hanger and a small shelf...

You could probably make something work out of a cheap headrest mount that you can get from eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260745055515&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_4059wt_1139

I would get the B&N case like a "lautner" & mount it on the wall with the flap on the bottom. Then you could open it & let the flap hang down or close it & the magnetic flap will keep it closed.
Cheers,
kev

How come you didn't like the wall hanger? It seems like it would work good and it's what I was thinking.
Third party companies make the hard-plastic snap to cases (I've seen them for the nook I think on Amazon, but can't find them at the moment) that you could easily just mount the backplate and not use the front plate. I know they're not that common, especially for the nook, but would be pretty cool.
I wish I could provide a link for you. I'll look around and make sure I post a link if I find it again!

Car/Bike Mount Kit Recommendations For TMOUSA HD2

I've read the thread over on the Euro HD2 part of the site, but there's little said about car & bike mounts that fit the TMOUSA HD2's. I'm especially interested in mounts that can charge while using GPS/Sat Nav (evidently some charges don't provide enough output). Any recommendations?

Well it's not any use for bikes, but brodit makes the best car mounts I've ever used, and you can order them with or without a power connection built-in. The one I used with my wizard charged it even faster than a wall charger. They also will let you flip the phone from portrait to landscape (and back) as needed.

sirphunkee - thanks for the info on the Brodit adapters. I was looking at both the Brodit adapters and the Herbert Richter mounts (not a fan of the vent mounts) from http://www.pdahut.com/store/home.php?cat=2717 . The one nice thing I can see from their stuff is that you could have a Herbert Richter car mount and bike mount and use the same Brodit adapter for both. Anyone using any others with success?

Actually Brodit/ProClip does make a mount for bikes... Brodit Bike Mount. I don't own the bike mount myself but I can definitely vouch for their car mounts, I've used them for my last two devices and now presently for my HD2.
Nice! I just ordered my ProClip Auto Mount for the HD2 (USA). This is more money than I wanted to spend, but it looks like a great solution and I really like where it will mount to my dash.
Again, Great forums, and great site.
Two thumbs up for ProClip
I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but wow, the ProClip is a spectacular car mounting system. Good quality mount, that works very well. It was more money than I wanted to part with, but I am satisfied.
I didn't think about the fact that I will have to ditch the rubber glove the HD2 comes with. I suppose I better invest in a clear shield solution and a belt clip case like the RIMs used to come in.

If you're referring to using a clear shield while it's in the proclip car mount then it wont work. The clear shield will make it to big and not fit properly in the mount...I tried the same thing a couple devices ago.
try www.bracketron.com. They have just about everything I could think of, and decent prices. I love my universal usb charger.
Also, if you wish to get the bike mount, looks like all of the brackets, waterproof cases, etc have universal slots on the back to fit any type of mount.

Good tip. Darn! Well I guess I will have to just use it bare. I really wish the HD2 had a finish like the original HTC Dash for T-Mobile. It was a slight rubbery texture that didn't slide at all. These slick finishes lead to drops and falls.
Bicycle Mount
I just bought this from Amazon and used it today. Did 15 miles and it was awesome. I use a GPS app and listen to my music via bluetooth headphones and it was nice not to have to put my phone in my pouch.

Here's an interesting and inexepnsive alternative that I just ordered. Will let you know how it is when I receive it.
The best car mount?
Anybody use this from Brodit? I am just about to buy one...

I have used Brodit stuff in the past and I am crazy about their products. Every now and then they have one that does not fit exactly properly, however I believe this one should work well - for the US T-Moboe version.... anybody have this?

On the first page of this thread there are many posts of users (including myself) who've made this purchase and love it. You can't go wrong with this mount, the best I've used to date.
is there a way i can use the pro clip and still maintain use of the micro usb slot? I have a carputer and i tether the hd2 to my PC, so I would need to be able to access the micro USB port to connect a usb cable to the pc

Yes, the usb slot is always accessable with pro clip mounts. The need to be able to charge the device while in the mount is crucial.
Actually, the proclips are available with and without a built-in charger...so if you want to keep the port free, just be sure to order the one that doesn't have the charger cord/plug attached.

[Q] Looking for a car mount that will...

let me record out of the windshield... ie. let me record what i see when I drive...
I know, it's kind of a weird request, but is there one that will let me do this?
I highly doubt it, there is finally a company just now making a dock for the inc...but still not released yet. youre better off modifying an existing car mount to get that option or make something....can't be too difficult

if i remember correctly.. the holster on the htc car dock has the camera cutout so you should be able to use it. the holster mounts to the dock and lets you rotate it to landscape so that should let you see out
I have a mount like this from VZ.. It captures the mount in the scene, but could probably be modded.
Best Buy sells an adjustable universal window mount setup that works perfect. You can virtually adjust it any way to make it fit, and would work great for your application. Plus, the side grips have a nice foam type material that would soak up a lot of vibrations.

You could use a drill bit slightly larger than the camera whole. I actually have that verizon clip, and I think a mod would work quite well.

No no, it captures the suction cup in the view.. Not the phone cradle.
Check out the M25 Sound dock on amazon. I have one, the angle is adjustable, and it steers out the window.
UnRevoked HTC Incredible
You could always get one of those non-sliding, weighted suction cup mounts that go on your dash then use any mount and place it facing the windshield.
You could always try to eBay a cheap universal mount and cheap DInc case, then super glue them together for a cheap custom fit case
There's a car mount on eBay called the SlipGrip that has a ton of different mounting solutions and custom molded cradles for the DINC in various kinds of 3rd party cases (Otterbox, silicone, VZW case, naked). The suction cup mount has a nice long adjustable arm so you could mount it with the suction cup on your dash rather than the windshield and adjust the cradle so the arm isn't in the shot. The cradle also rotates 180 degrees so you can record vertical or horizontal.
I will sell you one for $50 that is really nice. The cradle is made for the phone and you can suction mount it to your window or glass nightstand table. I will post pics in the morning.
This might not be the right place, but I can't find an answer - is there a car dock that will fit the Seidio 3500 battery? I don't know if the large battery causes any problems with car docks, but I would assume it does...
i use one thats actually for a I*hone. It clips and leaves the camera unobstructed.

Created My own Car Mount

I had been looking at car mounts for awhile and didn't really like the large generic mounts. While I was in Best Buy last week I saw they had these IQ Mount that works with Iphones etc that was on sale for $8.99. It also comes with 3 universal tabs so I ordered a snap-on hard (back only) case on ebay (I ordered this one that kind of went with the base and wasn't totally black, hopefully reducing the temperature) and put it on the back of this case. The universal tabs allow you to mount it either horizontally or vertically allowing you to rotate your phone by just pulling it out and putting it back in. The case doesn't block any of the buttons and is easy to take on and off since I don't like having to have the extra bulk of a case. The tabs are very small so they could be put on your existing case as well and you'd probably not notice. This mount also gives you the ability to mount it on the windshield with a suction or on the dash with a strong 3m tape. I will try to get some pictures to post on here but I am very happy with they way this turned out.
Hope this helps someone else too.
Sounds pretty neat-o to me. Too bad my miata has some weird ass vents lol. I like the idea of it being suctioned to the windshield, hard to use navigation with it in your pocket.

Cool! Got any pictures?
I pulled the trigger on this, I'll take some pictures once I receive everything.. Not bad for $15..
where are the pics.... im interested
Excellent solution
Purchased this based on the original recommendation and it works very well in my new toyota sienna. Thanks for the recommendation.

Trying to find a mount to attach to gameklip.

I love the gameklip concept. Although, I do not love their "universal" approach. I don't want to have to click in and out of cases every time I want to use it. Also a full case plus the gameklip makes for pretty wide dimensions. I'm trying to find a mount of some sort (vehicle, desk, etc) that I can take a part and use just the part that actually grasps the phone and then glue that to the gameklip rather than a case. One that would work over a case would be excellent. So do any of you have any ideas? Do you have a mount that works with a case that you think could be hacked down to minimal size and then glued to the gameklip? I know I'm technically asking a question but I feel this post fits better in the accessories forum.
I like how Moga executed their phone holding mechanism. Something like that combined with a gameklip would be perfect!
Hi, I'm also interesting in this. so far what i think might work is a car holder having a flat surface in the back of the holder, unfortunately I haven't found one like this.

Nexus 10 Car Headrest Advice

Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for a car headrest mount for the Nexus 10?
I've got the Griffin CinemaSeat mount for the iPad, and really like that style - it's quick to setup and remove, holds really firm, is low profile and the case looks like it would take a little bit of damage should the whole thing fall off the back of the car seat, but I can't find an equivalent for the Nexus.
The closest thing I can find are the Wanpool TFY fast attach and fast release ones but they look a bit suspect to me because of the sole use of velcro as the attachment mechanism that would be quite affected by whether the back of the headrest is flat or not.
The solutions with the large plastic frames don't appeal as much as they look like they'd not be as quick to put in and take out and I'm not entirely sure of the safety implications of having big lumps of plastic on the back of a car seat.
Any suggestions?
cjc.
