I see that nobody has made a Super Mario theme for the Epic. Lately I have been messing around and trying to learn how to theme and decided I would try to make a Super Mario theme. I havent done much and I have made a few icons for the status bar and what not. (as you can see I am using the honeycomb fusion theme and just changing icons here and there until it completely transforms into a completely new theme)

I know the time on the lock screen is messed up (I will be changing that tonight) and the status bar I am either considering making the clock text and the battery text black.. or maybe changing the color of the entire status bar... since its hard to see the battery text..
I am mainly making this for me and to get more experience with themes... So I am also wondering... would anyone else like to use this theme? Should I continue developing it?
What does everyone think?

This is just on the edge of awesome, OP. The notification bar needs a little work, but otherwise, very cool. Would love to have this on the EC05 framework-res, so it's compatible with SRF1.1.0.

This theme is awesome. I would be all over it.
Agreed with many that this reeks of total awesomeness. It definitly needs some work/polish, but for saying it is your first theme, you are coming along very nicely! Everyones first project needs some polishing work Regardless, I agree with the others that the notification bar needs some work. I would definitly encourage you to keep developing this theme though, and when I get some spare time I'd even be willing to give you a hand on certain things. Great job so far man keep up the good work!
Also, IMHO if it were my theme, I would make a koopa shell battery icon, like a top down view. The current battery is just too hard to see. Just have the %age number inside the shell. Blue/Green/Yellow/Red colors change for battery levels. I think that'd be a neat idea.
Also, maybe if you used the SMB1 Lvl 2 (The first dungeon stage) Brick texture across the notification bar, that might make all the other things and the clock more readable, since it's a nice Dark Blue/greyish color. Again not trying to tell you what to do, just saying what I would modify myself If I decided to use it Other cool ideas incoming after my brain generates on this at work some haha.

whoa thanks man.. i appreciate the ideas.. ill get working on different versions of the battery icon... but i dont want to keep getting caught up in revising things or making different versions of something (like the battery meter)..i polished it up last night and it took quite some time (since there are around 202 images for it (including the charging icons))..
ill definitely try that texture for the notification bar... i was wanting to keep it looking like the 'status bar' for SMB3... at first i tried the light blue color and it turned out horrible..you could read anything really... then i tried the secondary color (the beige that you see) and obviously you can read stuff..just not that clearly (the battery icon)... SMB3 was revised and had updated graphics in the Super Mario All Stars game, and the status bar was changed to a darker hue of blue... which i could try to use and it should make the text more readable..
i do want to try to keep it looking like the status bar because thats where all your information was in the game...
i am definitely open for ideas...im still kicking around ideas in my head for the wifi signal icon and the 3g...i have ideas for the 3g symbol...just need to put it in photoshop and do the work... but for the wifi... yeah...i dunno about that one yet lol..
if anyone knows what the image name of the 'call lock message notification surrounding box' is, that would be great (its the box that surrounds the mail icon on your lock screen (where you drag down to view the message))
I was trying to find it last night but gave up lol
again..suggestions are greatly appreciated... if you have any ideas/thoughts about the status bar icons, just drop me a line and ill take a look at it.. im going to really try not to get caught up in revising the same icons over and over again and not doing anything else to the theme.

I do have a flashable zip that you can flash with CW3..but its just a rough one... i mainly took the honeycomb fusion flashable zip, put my icons in it, and renamed it to a different name.
This looks really good. I love the stars and the notification really doesn't look that bad. I like the coins and the number next to them. The shells are a cool idea but I think may be better for wifi or signal strength. I think black text in that notification bar would be better than changing the color of it as well. I would certainly look forward to trying this out once your comfortable with how it looks. Keep up the great work!

This is really cool. I'm not even that big into SMB or putting themes my phone, But I would kick the tires on this... kick them real hard.
As for Ideas they are endless, put the best ones that came to mind would be to change the beautiful widget weather icons. Change the sun over to the Angry Dessert Sun. The clouds into the clouds in the background of SMB 1. When its raining it could be that guy that drops the spike balls that crawl around. The moon could be a ghost.
I like the Battery icon as the coin counter.
Still working on this.. have been very busy with other things this week... I'm kicking around ideas and stuff for the dialer and trying hard not to screw up the dialertabactivity.apk lol. Ill post a pic soon of the dialer, when I get back to a computer

I made this theme with the ladies in mind but, it's certainly also for men if they'd like. its a purpley pinkish theme based on my myst series of themes. If you guys/gals have any suggestions/comments let me know. I had to personally color a huge amount of images I also themed some widget/apps the same color. i think you've also gotten the wrong impression about what i said. i never said "credit me for everything" or anything like that. i just wanted to make the point that if you use someones theme as a base (which we have all done at some point) just remember to credit who they credit for various mods or the source work
its a learning process and ive forgotten to do so myself at various points in time. its not the end of the world, but something in the android world that is important nonetheless.
you've clearly put a lot of time and effort into this theme and it shows...and its not something to give up theming over by any means at all

Anyway, I did my best fixing it. And I wanted to inform you that's its not a big deal and this deffinitely isn't the reason I'm retiring from theming. I just need a break. Dealing with a lot of stress and pain atm for a variety of reasons. And it tends to make things worse than they actually are. Ill be back in the future. Especially if we get cm7. Again, your work is amazing and ill be sure to give proper credit for the future. I didn't mean to cause a commotion here.

both the dj05 and dl09 radios are fine...most seem to prefer dl09 radio with froyo though

Hi! So there's just one minor thing I found that's not quite right with this theme. Hitting the menu button brings up the options for menu, wallpapers,edit,add,etc. The text on those options is cut off at the top. Otherwise its great, here is so much purple in it! So nice to have something suitable for the women

This is a full theme that's ambition is simple; turning all instances of color thru-out the entire ROM, including many common user apps, to various shades of blue. This project will be on-going; as I get better at theming so will the theme get better. I make no claims of complete originality, as some images have been swyped from other themes (if u see ur work, please claim it so that i can credit or pull it) That said, most work is my own (in as much as modifications of someone else's work -HTC's- can be called ones "own" ) I also need to thank Gunthermic, whom I continue to bug daily with my incessant questions, lol. ****Install instructions****** 1) Place the zip on the root of your SDcard

CANNOT wait for that sexy drop down.
Any luck doing the menus? Like when hitting menu from homescreen and other menus like for gmail?

Wut about the 'menu's? U mean the getting all the icons to match? That's proven to be one of the more challenging things. I've themed all those icons that those should be drawing from.... That's why I haven't been working hard to make all those icons match. They'll need changed anyway for the dark bg ....coarse I plan on doing two versions of those ......like most things so I'll havta to both anyway

I was referring to when you hit menu and all apps, notifications, personalize, wallpaper, ringtones and settings comes up in the little "6 spaced grid".
Sorry probably have terminology all wrong ! Either way I know it takes time, just excited about what's to come because this adds alot of class to this already nicely themed wrong already on 1st revision.
BTW I tried messing with both htc calender widget apk's and couldn't get it to work again.
Not that I know much beyond moving things to system/apps and changing permissions lol.

Try pulling 'Calendar.apk' from the theme zip and reflash. U won't notice a difference without that one anyway. Just put on ur desktop, open with 7zip, go to /system/app/Calendar.apk and delete.
If that doesn't work ...or u just don't feel like it, I'll have an update soon. By morning prolly

U can also delete 'htccalendarwidgets.apk' and possibly HtcProfileWidgets.apk without noticing a diff. I'll put updated versions into the next update
I'd try deleting the first two calendar APKs first, but like i said, ill be doing that ltr tonight or this morning.
If u just delete Calendar.apk and report bak ull potentially save me a bunch of work ....but I know it sux waiting thru whole that flashing so if u just wanna wait, that's cool too

Thnx bro. Yeah I've got some other things slated first ...like finding all instances of green, orange, etc. and eradicating it, lol ...then just getting all buttons and highlights smooth like the one in the dropdown. Then I gotta touch sum more widgets
.....and finally, I'll be doing variations on the theme, with one being sumthing very similar to wut u suggest ...just remind me down the road. But in general, yeah more blue is on the way

Yes, I know 'where' u mean. I'm sorry, I don't understand 'what' u want done.
I'll say this: I plan on making both a dark and light version ....also one with blue highlights; dark or light, I haven't decided ...maybe both. I also may make completely different icons rather than modify the existing ones.
If u guys can be more specific as to what u'd like to see in the theme, then I could better accommodate u.
If u all are something u like in another theme that u'd like to see here, please try to provide screenshots or links so that I see exactly wut u mean. I can't say whether I'll use it or whether it'll be exactly the same. I like to make things my own, but I'm also not one for changing sumthin just to be different either. If there's no room for improvement, then I'll keep it as-is.
And if anyone has work that they've done that they think would look good here, please post it and I'll see about incorporating it or atleast adding as an add-on
Just something darker really, I love the black menu from cm7 and from DH, it doesnt have to be black though.
As far as the calender widget I think I already tried everything I could do apk wise in an attempt to fix it. It's no biggy though man, I can wait

This ROM is based off of Verizon GB OTA 4.06.605.03 for Incredible and uses tiny's 10/23 no wifi n kernel. I've started adding some red theming(more to come) and I've also added some tweaks for speed, battery life and RAM optimization. I also suggest using spare parts to set screen and transition animations to fast. I also use it to turn haptic feedback off for the softkeys.

Works well for me too. I have the red batt. cover on mine.
And IMO Sense 1.0 runs the best on the Incredible. It's always Sense 1 or AOSP for me. I can't stand the lag on the newer Sense based ROM's. There cool, sure, but a bit too slow.

Alright, got it up and running. Some suggestions from me would be:
1. Remove the task manager from the quick settings. It only works on the newer Sense.
2. Maybe theme the notification pulldown, transparency, or all black (EG. McSense)
3. I really love the Incredible 2/Thunderbolt 3G Icon.
4. Red overscroll glow would be neat.
5. Maybe some red on the lockscreen?
Mostly all cosmetic, fairly minor, easy changes.
Oh, and maybe some more de-bloating. EG, extra ringtones/sounds, 3G mobile hotspot can be replaced with wireless tether, Adobe reader, Facebook, Quick office. Or at maybe move them and make then (easily) removable.

Good point on the task manager... I meant to take it back out and forgot . I'm planning a slightly transparent black pulldown with some red highlights and maybe test... have to play with ot to get it easy to read. Red overscroll would be pretty sweet too... I'll work on that for 1.1 and I'm also working on something for the lockscreen. So far I've just shadowed the text in red but it's not real noticeable. I was thinking about a red slide down iron cross from my Blackened theme but might make that as a option and have a completely different lockscreen..

I was just thinking the same thing when I was outside lol

That said since all the themes are available for download within the launcher, it would be nice if we credited the original ones too right? I see you're using a modded setup of my original theme (sheepo), would be nice if you could mention that too. I have made too many sweeterhome themes to post all here atm, will do later sometime. Peeked at the forum and it looks dead & overrun by spam bots. Is the launcher stable enough for daily use? I'm downloading some different themes & messing around & it doesn't seem that hard to do. Will probably play with other people's themes a while before trying out one of my own.

I have been using this as my daily. So far so good. It took me a little while to get used to, but when I started messing around with other themes it all started to make sense... :0}

I played for a while now and it seems pretty straight forward to me for most things. I like how in the sample themes people have made all sorts of setups that go in totally different directions.
Some quick thoughts/questions in no special order:
- User Base: I'm glad to see a couple replies already. I really don't want to get into this if I'm the only one using it. Need to have some people to bounce ideas off of & ask questions.
- Is it still in development, or is it 'finished' just the way it is?
- I like the idea of a slide down to the bottom of the + for all apps, but oddly I'm not seeing the use of the other 3 sides when it seems (off the top of my head) easier to hide & un-hide everything on one screen.
- There still no way to get to the other screens without a slide? Would be nice to make a button with a special action of jumping to one of the other screens.
- In some of the minimal themes, I see the use of the Contacts plugin/widget/thing. I like the look on the themes, but I don't want to see ALL of my contacts, just the favorite dozen or so. Any way to do it that I'm missing, or anyone know of a normal Android Widget that can show something like that?
- Overall, I'm probably going to play for a while & save version after version on my sd card (need to see where is saves, btw) BUT at some point I will really need to think if this method works any better then just Launcher Pro/Go Launcher/more 'normal' android home screens.

One of the main reasons I started this thread was I noticed more and more people using this launcher. It really is amazing how much customizing you can actually do. I was hoping if we get enough users the devs would pick up support for this and more features could be added. I am not sure if there has been any movement on this but the latest beta version was dated February 12th 2012(according to the website.) I too have not really found much use for the other slides but I guess it is nice if anyone uses a lot of widgets or simply just likes the real estate. I have not found if there is a way to jump to another screen by adding a springboard function, but I am still new to the launcher... Overall I feel this is the best launcher I have used as far as customizing goes, being able to move widgets, pictures, text boxes, wallpapers, colors, anywhere on the screen, as well as hide/unhide items; it's a themers dream... Just my two cents... On that note... Let's see some more screens!!!
This is the official ThunderHawk IV Theme with the TouchWiz or AOSP lockscreens. For those of you already running the brand new ThunderHawk IV, you may be slightly out of date. The themes provided here are interchange-able and should be able to flash over any FC09 rom on BML or MTD.
To Install Your Theme:
They shoullllld flash safely and fully in CWM over any FC09 rom, but let's find out together!
To Customize Your Theme:
If you have installed RandomROM IV, then you have proceeded through all of the instructions to create your options.cfg file. If you have not, then you will need the aforementioned file ONLY if you wish to switch to a simpler power menu, enable scroll-able toggles, or switch lock screens.
Download this file and place it on your sdcard under "/clockworkmod/". Now open the .cfg file with a text editor on your phone or a program on your computer such as Notepad++ and change 'yes' to 'no' or vice-versa where applicable. There is no lite/full installation for a theme, but please leave that entry at the top of the file to ensure future RDU installation compatibility.
These three features can be adjusted at any time by simply modifying your options.cfg file and re-flashing your desired theme. Effects will be immediate upon reboot. If you're using the CWM Manager included with RandomROM, you can simply "Flash an Update" to install one of these themes, and the app will boot into CWM, install, and restart your phone all on its own.
Without the requisite .cfg file, defaults will be applied instead (adv. power, scrollable, touchwiz lock).

I'm glad you asked. You may have noticed I've removed the listing from the IV version, and changed the frowny to a smiley. With nothing really left to fix, I'm finally working on it. The reason it's always "in progress" is because I have about 250+ pngs to re-theme, a boat-load of compiling errors ahead of me, and never enough consecutive time to work on it.
This I can definetly relate to people just dont get the amount of detail and time us themers put in for each of our works. Especially when the entire framework is blue

Yup. And seeing as my major focus is on a rom WITH a theme that I like... I've been more focused on getting the rom right first before the theme variants.
UPDATE: Red Variant is uploading now. I may tweak it a tad at some point, but it's good to go.

The reason it's always "in progress" is because I have about 250+ pngs to re-theme, a boat-load of compiling errors ahead of me, and never enough consecutive time to work on it.

The compiling errors are the worst. You put all the time into the XML edits and editing .9pngs and then get a error log a mile long leaving you to sift through the carnage to figure out what went wrong so you can fix it. I never truly appreciated how much went into making a theme cause you guys all made it look so easy I now understand what its all about and took me countless long nights learning the trade. And with three kids and working seven days a week means I always have long nights in order to get any theming done. But I wouldn't change a thing cause I love doing it. But people just need to understand that we have lives too and this [email protected]$# is alot of work

I am very thankful for the hard work you put into this and the ROM. I loved RandomROM b4 CM7 came out and the only reason I stopped using it as because of the random reboots. Now I am back on it and love it.

I've actually just updated the green and red themes. A minor tweak to the Green pulldown, but I've revamped several parts of the red theme that were too dark to a more reasonable color.
Question: Would a demonstration of how easy it is to swap between themes and customizations be appreciated?

Swipe-Away Notifications
Hey guys, I've built into the rom the Swipe-Away notifications mod from this thread. It's rather neat because it let's you clear an individual notification in the pull-down menu simply by sliding it to the right or left.
It works, but it's a bit touchy as to how precisely you have to swipe the notification away. That said, it only adds functionality and doesn't hinder or break anything else, so it's in.
I'm trying to find a way to make it work a little better, but it's a bit beyond my scope of Android knowledge.
Really liking these themes a couple more colors would be awesome..

Wifi Mode Themes
For those of you upgrading your phones, but hanging on to your beloved Epics for whatever reason, this is for you! It's a minor, but aesthetically pleasing solution! I've added "Custom Wifi Version [For De-comissioned Phones]" options for the three main color themes (Pink coming when I can make it more pink!). These theme variants change a few key things.
The assumption is, that you will be placing your phone into Airplane Mode, or as I've relabeled it, "Wifi Mode." The airplane symbol in the task bar will be replaced with "WiFi." The carrier label will be replaced from "(No Service)" to still state "RandomROM FC09."
The idea is to make your beloved Epic feel like a wifi device rather than a crippled phone.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I just got the Galaxy S3 but want to continue using the epic because I just paid the 100 dollar insurance deposit after dropping it in a river. Does the wifi variant cut off the cellular radio completely and therefore save the device from using excessive battery searching for signal?
