Quickoffice

Hey all, I uh pulled the quick office APk off my Aria and tried to install on my tab. Got it to install, but it fc when I try to open it. What did I miss?

So I tried the search on our forums but two threads pop-up. This one and one talking about seeing it in market. I have the apk. Now, without answering me, I just need a gentle push in the right direction. How should I word the search to find my answer? I ask li,e this cuz I know how much most of you hate answering questions by device noobs like me.

I don't have an answer for your question but just wanted to say that I don't think anyone here hates answering questions. I kind of like it if I know the answer and can help. It is only when people ask the same questions over and over again without trying to help themselves that people get tired of it.
We were all noobs at one point. So don't be afraid to ask.. Now, I just wish I could help with your question

I pulled the QuickOffice APK off my Droid2 and put installed it on my GTab, and had no problems. I am not sure why it would be failing on you. I see you are using TnTLite, while I am using Vegan.

same using quick office on vegan 5.1, and it works just fine.

I think the versions of QuickOffice pre-installed on phones are device-specific. I know I couldn't get the Droid 2 version to run on my GTablet - which is fine because, technically, that would be stealing.
I'm waiting to see if anyone comes out with a tablet-ready office suite before I plunk down any virtual bucks, though.

I think it is sonething to do with it being device specific, cuz the apk file has a .htc part in it and that is who makes my phone. I will buy it if it comes up and without a doubt supports the tab running tnt 4.0 lite, I just want to be sure. Mostly I wanted to see if I could do it. Knowledge is a great and powerful weapon, regardless as to how mundane it may seem

Had issues with QuickOffice and then I downloaded the trial app for Documents To Go from the market on my Gtab (after the market fiction on TNT Lite) and then egistred it from their web site. I've been using it since the middle of November without issues.

docs to go
I bought docs to go for my evo! Installed on my grab then sent an email to the developer asking how I could register the tablet version since I already owned it for android! They sent me Instructions on how to insert my code into the tablet version and now I have full versions on both. paying only once! Hope this helps! By the way docs to go is far superior than quick office!

QuickOffice downloaded from Market
I was able to buy and download QuickOffice from the Android Market on my G Tablet and it works fine for me. It has even downloaded at least one "update" and still works fine.

Office is one of a few apps that I don't see with tnt4.0. I saw it with vegaN 5.1. Its funny how certain apps appear with each Rom.

I had the same problem until I went into root explorer and changed the user permissions. works fine now.

[Q] Android Image Editing App for G-Tablet?

One of the big things I REALLY need to be able to convert to using Android and my G-Tablet as a complete replacement on the road is an Image Editor that supports layers (filters as well would also be nice). I know there are a couple out there for the Chrome Web OS, so I would assume there has to be something at least as good for the Android? Or is there a way to run Chrome Apps under Android (or in one of the Android browsers)?

I know that there's a Photoshop Express for Android but I'm not sure if it supports layers.
However, the Canvas App (in this thread) from the Adam port does support layers. I haven't had much time to play around with it so I'm not sure how 'robust' an app it is but you might want to check it out.

Photoshop Express for Android unfortunately doesn't have layers. Maybe in the future
Thanks for the Canvas link. Going to give that, and a web-based offering called Splashup a try tonight.

Market claims that while my Nexus One is compatible, that the G-tab isn't. Have you been able to run it on the G-tab?

If its the sketchbook mobile app it does work however u can't be running began or tnt. Needs to be zpad or CM

Have you tried Picsay Pro? It's a paid app but well worth it. Does layers.

I'm finding that many of these apps do "layers", but they don't do what "I" need from layers. For the sorts of things I do, I copy part of another picture, and then "Paste as New Layer". Both Canvas and PicSay support layers, but only for doing artwork in the program on the layer, which isn't a "true" layer where you could use a layer to try and add a color correction, and then an effect, and blow one or the other of those away by just dropping the layer.
Haven't been able to get to an APK for the Autodesk product. Evidently the "Market Fix" for Vegan, et al doesn't fix the entire market (I also can't seem to find Jet Car Stunts, but that's another thread).
The online editors are Flash based, but usually once you start to get into any heavy lifting they crash. I am going to take a look at Aviary since I think they have an HTML 5 based version.

Pointers to the thread that worked for you would be appreciated. I've tried the normal with stopping the market, clearing the cache, stopping the framework, rebooting - and while that shows more of the market, it doesn't show all of it.
Yes, I am looking for recommendations, but it's hard to say if a recommendation will actually work without trying it. I am not trying to avoid paying for anything, but I can't pay for it if the market won't let me DL it

Seriously, if someone can help me setup my market so I can see it, I will be more than happy to pay for the product.
In fact, I'm kind of surprised that more application providers don't offer an option to order and DL direct for just such circumstances. Does Autodesk really care if Google gets their cut?

Works like a dream on latest Vegan rom, especially if you invest in a good stylus.
Search for the .apk with the browser. I think I found mine at appbrain or something like that.

Appbrain just takes me back to the market, so no help there...

OK, bought Root Explorer, and updated my Build.Prop. Took 24 hours, but the market finally recognized my Viewsonic as compatible with the Autodesk app, and I FINALLY was able to buy and install. The controls aren't the most intuitive, but it does exactly what I needed it to. Thanks!

What build prop are you on? mine doesn't recognise...can someone pls rip the apk?

I used the build.prop documented around page 133 of the VEGAN-TAB thread.
You'd want to get it through the store so you can get upgrades anyway

Most imp tablet specific app needed?

Hi guys,
I really want to love the Xoom, I like android a lot and the hardware is too good (at least at this point)
But I not in place where I can drop my iPad for good. The reasons are pure app specific, if I get these decent on Xoom... it's bye bye iPad.
So this is a quasi-'need help' thread. to double check if I'm not missing anything
1. Magazine app - Something like Zinio, I depend too much on it and couldn't find even an ETA on when Zinio will be available for Android

6. Now the big big deal... I consider all these tablets as a 'consumption' devices, and the biggest thing I 'consume' is movies and tv shows...
The best thing about iPad is, I just launch iTunes app then rent a movie, wait for sometime and then enjoy the movie...
Is there a way I can get this experience on a Xoom? I know that right now most of the HD formats play on tegra but is there any hope to get this?

If you download Spare parts and unselect Compatibility mode AVC works great. i have been using it for days now with no FC.

Have you tried jj comic viewer for comics? i cant confirm it works on 3.0 but it is the best ive found pre HC

A Market app that works...
Searches properly so you can find those Apps you want that may exist but you would never know.
Recognizes applications that have updates properly.
Doesn't randomly open other app's.
Actually installs Apps the first time you ask for them.
And why Google is at it, Tablet Section - more direct support on the Web Market while the programmer who is assigned to the tablet market app figures out how to code - bug fix.
(yes I am frustrated with the market today)

I don't remember if manga watcher loads cbz and crz files but in general it is really good app. It was recently updated to load local files from sd so it might be worth checking out. I know the dev does alot of work and updates it frequently. You might even write him and ask if he plans to add support for these files if they aren't already supported. I bought the full app and have been happy with it ever since.

This works perfectly (not perfect but will do). I like it that it auto opens the next comic.

I have been doing the same without issue. Much better experience than my old e-reader with 800x600!

I tried Zanio on my Xoom and it just FC on startup.

SPB 3D Launcher On GTAB?

Anyone try this? The full version launched today looks awesome! I got the APK but I am still waiting for my gtab, installing on phone now =D

For wat its worth, I installed it on my Incredible and pretty much ruined my phone. All I got was a black screen and I had accidentally clicked the box saying "Use SPB3D everytime" so I couldn't get around it. Luckily I had a nandroid backup...

Tried on my GTAB even though the page on the Android market says tablets are not supported..
And yeah.. no go..
It also didn't work with my Nexus One.
Bummer I was waiting for this to come out.

no go for me as well...

I used SPB aoftware previously, and loved their UI. As far as this new 3D launcher, SPB noted that they do not support tablet platform.

It Does Work on the GTAB (sorta)

I HAVE TO STRESS THIS NOW!, I DO NOT CONDONE SOFTWARE PIRACY!
I bought the paid version for my N1 and it didn't work at first but my 15 mins expired so I wound up keeping it. I flashed CM7RC4 and tried it again and it worked so I'm happy about that.
But the curiousity was killing me so I had to try it out on the GTAB
Sorry about the wobbly video, I used my N1 to record.
The launcher does have its drawbacks:
I have yet to explore the launcher completely so there may be more drawbacks I haven't discovered yet but it does not support live wallpaper and it does support auto rotate while in desktop mode
So there you have it.. It does work on the GTAB.. sorta!

After getting the apk file on my device.
I closed all data connections (Wi-Fi, 3G, 2G, EDGE) all outside internet connections.
Installed the apk. After installation was done I pressed the home key.
A dialog window popped up asking which launcher I wanted to use.
I chose SPB.
The software proceeded to load.
A dialog window popped saying the software was not activated and would I like to activate it now?. I chose Yes.
Since there was no connection to the internet activation skipped an it proceeded to finish loading the software.
A dialog window popped up saying my device was not supported.
I pressed ok and it closed ( it went back to ADW-EX )
I powered down completely, then started my device.
Upon completion of startup I slid the unlock key and a dialog window popped asking what launcher I wanted to use. I chose SPB.
With all data connections still closed the activation window popped up again.
I chose yes, the software loaded and another dialog window popped saying my device was unsupported.
I waited a few minutes before pressing the OK box (around five minutes)so the software can continue to load in the background.
I checked the OK box and Bingo.. my desktop had SPB loaded and working,
the process is tedious I know..
Just to point out I take NO CREDIT for this. I found the fixed apk floating around the web with instructions on how to install and decided to give it a try.
And again I need to stress this out.. I DO NOT CONDONE SOFTWARE PIRACY!
I tried to find the site with the instructions but it was apparently pulled yesterday shortly after I got SPB working.

Works for my incredible.
Drawbacks
1. Non-rotating
2. Icons automatically move up. Meaning you can't place them anywhere.
3. No 4x4 weather unless you use the panel one.
4. Can't resize anything.
5. Other things I'm sure, but I'm at work so I had to make this post snappy.

That's cool, but I think this thread is about seeing if the Launcher works on the GTAB.

I think it only works on hdpi devices. Don't work on my friends zoom or my wife's aria

That's a good point, I'm not exactly sure if the gtab is HDPI or MDPI (mdpi I think), but I did manage to get it working on mine so I'm very happy about that.

seem nice, but too pricey, SPB used to be good on wince, they can make great app but 15$ without at least a trial is a no go for me...

There are actually several different names out there for the modified apk but the one I can remember off the top of my head was Spb_Shellfix.apk from "mydroid.info".

I just bought/downloaded this right from the Market and it's freaking beautiful and works great. Running Vegan Ginger. Maybe newer versions are more tablet-friendly?

No, but I don't like using my tablet in landscape anyway because of the poor viewing angle, so that works out well for me. I don't think SPB Shell runs in landscape anywhere, though - does it?

You're right! I bought it awhile ago and wasn't to impressed. I loaded up some roms and there is a significant improvement. Thanks for the heads up.

n64oid was available on the market for a short time and removed by the author for a few months while it undergoes improvements. It should be back soon, but it's not currently available.

Read that it should be up by late may so anytime soon

where/how are you guys getting ROMS for this and the playstation emulator?
i used to use what I believe was called Rom Finder (premium) but I believe it was removed from the market. and even upon side loading the SDK it tells me that I need the newest version to download ROMS. any suggestions for using this or a new source? I would prefer a direct app on the xoom to do this although i havent been able to find another one.

You just can search it on Google, and for the ROMS, in any web of ROMS and Emulator, just watch the end of the file "Example.N64". If there's no problem for some mods or something i can upalod the apk.

I have this emulator and i use it with my xbox 360 controller. It works pretty good but i cant get it to recognize the l2 and r2 buttons. Other than tha is great.

are the analog sticks actually input in analog---that is to say, when you tilt the stick just a little, does your character walk slowly or whatever the case would be?

I purchased the N64oid and had a backup on Titanium. I restored it and the app works fine but I can't open any of my game zips. To my knowledge N64oid doesn't need a BIOS right? I downloaded my ROMS from coolrom but they don't open. Any ideas. I'm dying for Mario Kart 64.

Make sure they are zip and not rar....but on a different note:
No one worry because sooner or N64oid will come back to the Market the dev is really trust worthy and responds to emails quickly.

They are .zip. This happens with the 3 different ROMs I have.

You are right no BIOS needed. I have Honeycomb 3.1 with the latest Tiamat Xoom 1.4.2 and it runs great. I had purchased this app before it was in the market. I had to reinstall N64oid when I updated to 3.1 since all my applications were cleared.
Since you purchased this legitly on the android market you shouldn't have to worry. Remove the Titanium Backup version. Go to the Android Market and your purchased apps and install from there. Even though its removed from market since you purchased it you should still have access to download it like I do. Hopefully it will start working for you then!

i'm more concerned about gensoid being taken down than n64oid coming back up. that emu definitely needed a few updates that we probably wont get.

It just automatically does. Can anyone else confirm this? Did you originally purchase on the Xoom or another device? Another way to tell is if you look at the web version of the marketplace it should be on your purchased list.

Unfortunately no. It thinks its the d pad so when you push the stick, its in all the way. Also you cant program the dpad and analog sticks differently.

It just automatically does. Can anyone else confirm this? Did you originally purchase on the Xoom or another device? Another way to tell is if you look at the web version of the marketplace it should be on your purchased list.
