[ROM] [NANDROID] Nexus S 2.3.2 Build GRH78C + Bootloader + Radio - Nexus S Android Development

THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON THE USA NEXUS S, I9020T. THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE. NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS. IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS KIND OF THING, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEING IN THE COMPANY OF SOMEONE MORE EXPERIENCED BEFORE TRYING THIS
Link to file: http://www.mediafire.com/?lvt874fhzzzjqy1
I have created a Nandroid backup of the stock Android 2.3.2 ROM just in case there's anyone out there who hates the 2.3.3 update and wants an easy way to get back without installing 2.3.1 and upgrading. This ROM is 100% stock GRH78C with no root, no custom kernel, and no additional apps.
I have also included the 2.3.2 bootloader (I9020XXJK1) and radio (I9020XXJK8), plus a copy of ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5.
What you'll need:
Unlocked bootloader (see this thread)
ADB and Fastboot installed and working (see this thread)
Instructions:
Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
Move the clockworkmod folder to the root of your phone's USB storage.
Put the "images" folder somewhere on your computer.
Connect your phone to your PC via USB.
Power your phone off.
Hold down the volume up key while pressing power to boot into the bootloader.
Open a command prompt on your PC.
------ OPTIONAL. DO THIS IF YOU WANT TO USE THE ORIGINAL RADIO AND BOOTLOADER FOR THIS ROM --------
Change directory to the images folder from the zip.
Type (without quotes) "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img"
Type (without quotes) "fastboot flash radio radio.img"
------ END OF OPTIONAL STEPS --------
If you don't yet have clockworkmod recovery installed, type (without quotes) "fastboot flash recovery clockworkmod_3.0.0.5_crespo.img"
Select "Recovery" from the bootloader menu which will boot you into clockworkmod.
Select "backup and restore", then "backup" to make a backup of your current ROM.
Select "restore" and choose 2011-04-04.20.44.33.
Wait for it to finish.
You will now be running Android 2.3.2 stock/unrooted and (optionally) the proper bootloader and radio versions. Keep in mind that the first time you boot into this ROM, Clockworkmod recovery will be erased and replaced with the stock 3e recovery.

Followed every step and it worked perfectly. My phone is now running 2.3.2 again. Have my excellent colors again. Thanx

Thanks. Since Google stopped updating and my NS is only 3 weeks old I never had a chance to make my own 2.3.2 backup. I did manually update to 2.3.3 but I am having sporadic data connection issues since I updated. So hopefully my NS will like 2.3.2 better than 2.3.3.

Just wanted to say thanks for this. It was nice to have the bootloader and radio for the 2.3.2 ROM in a nice package.
I had received the OTA update notification (2.3.2 -> 2.3.4) this morning, and after flashing the default bootloader I had a failed update (thankfully I had a fresh nandroid). So flashed the radio/bootloader again from your package and was able to restore my backup and successfully flash an OTA for the first time ever on this phone.

hrm does anyone have a 9023 equivalent? I'd really really really need the original bootloader

The original bootloader for I9023 is XXKA3, which you can find in this file: http://android.clients.google.com/p...2cf141e6a.signed-soju-ota-102588.f182cf14.zip
Extract the bootloader.img file from the ZIP. DO NOT flash this entire ZIP as this contains GRI40 with the KB1 radio. Just extract the bootloader.img.
Reboot into your bootloader.
Plug your phone into USB on your computer.
Make sure ADB and Fastboot are set up.
In your command prompt, change to the directory where you extracted the bootloader.img file.
Type "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img"
That should be it.
Not responsible for any damage, yadda yadda.

Ah thanks a lot - I'll give this some consideration. I just "needed" it because I flashed the full rom update to 2.3.4 for 9023 lately (and later returned to my nandroid CM7 backup) and I noticed the bootloader being flashed and now it claims to be I9020XXXKA3, which is the version you quoted anyway though. So now I'm not sure anything has really changed. Or should it be I9023XXXKA3? (it also lists my radio as I9220whatever but from the running system that is shown as 9023 and I can't for the life of me remember what the bootloader said before)
Anyway thanks a lot man - I was beginning to think I'd have to familiarize myself with Odin. Thing is I'm thinking about sending my phone in and should I do it of course I'd have to make it as close to being a virgin as possible first

Yeah no problem. 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 use the same bootloader so you're good.

yeah - I was just worried about the 9020 in the name and wondering if it shouldn't be 9023

That shouldn't matter a bit.

well i know it works - my point was i was wondering if someone could tell by that that the phone had been unlocked at some point. But oh well - I have a thread open in the Q&A Forum asking 9023 owners what their bootloaders say. Someone is bound to answer eventually
Thanks for your help again

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's a known issue that the 2.3.4 update changes i9023 to i9020 on the bootloader and radio so I'd say you have nothing to worry about.

hrm sure hope you're right

[Q] Nexus One stuck on reboot screen

My Nexus One is stuck on boot screen and keeps recycling/vibrating. To condense information, here are bullet points of the situation:
-Nexus One 2.3.6 with unlocked bootloader
- PASSIMG.IMG is wrong or missing in HBOOT
-Can't access the sd root because I lost my sd adapter
-I've tried to fastboot recovery-RA-v2.2.1.img and Clockorange but I think that because I don't have the SU files in a folder titled SU on my sd, it doesn't go into the recovery menu
-When I cmd fastboot devices the serial comes up, but when I cmd adb devices, nothing comes up
-Can't access sd storage to move the SU folder via cmd
I've been working on this the past two days and searching and trying anything and everything. And nothing has worked. Any help would be great.
You don't need anything on your sdcard (or your sdcard itself for that matter) to put a custom recovery on your phone. Try this after putting your phone into fastboot mode and getting your cmd prompt up on the computer:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "c:\location\to\recovery.img"
fastboot boot recovery "c:\location\to\recovery.img"
From here, try a factory reset.
And adb won't be able to see your phone until you are either in recovery or fully booted up in Android (only with USB Debugging enabled).
When I do "fastboot boot recovery recovery-RA-v2.2.1.img" it comes up cannot load recovery.
Any ideas?
And once that goes through, do I boot through recovery on the phone or through command prompt?
Thank you for the reply.
Is the recovery in the folder where you are typing the command? And have you verified that the md5 sum of the recovery is correct?
And, I always just change the command from flash to boot to boot into the recovery the first time. Otherwise, if you are running a stock Android version, your recovery might get restored back to the stock recovery (Android has checks in place for that).
Nevermind, I did get it to go through, but then my N1 reboots on its own and is still stuck at the bootscreen
Ok, do you want to continue running stock, or would you like to try a custom ROM? Because, it sounds like you will need to reload your ROM (assuming the Factory Reset/Data Wipe didn't work). They have a couple of rooted extremely close to stock versions on here, or you might want to give CM7 or MIUI a shot. I would also go and get temasek's system-only format since Amon_RA doesn't give you the option to format your /system partition. You can find the file in his mediafire folder http://mediafire.com/temasek
My original intentions were to put CM7 on my phone because Gingerbread began to crash a lot. So in that case, how am I supposed to install the CM7 ROM onto my phone if I can't get past the bootscreen?
So, the fastboot boot command doesn't work?
fastboot does work, adb doesn't
No, does the
Code:
fastboot boot recovery "c:\location\to\recovery.img"
get you into recovery? Or does it still freeze on the X screen (when you say bootscreen, I assume you mean the X)?
Sounds like the recovery isn't installing with fastboot? Do you get any error messages?
It will still freeze at the X and never boots into recovery.

I got exactly the same problem as you. Didn't you see my post?
Btw, the fastboot boot recovery "c:\location\to\recovery.img" command doesn't work, whoever gave that tips.
I got an idea, but not sure about it:
Get someone who has a working Nexus One to make an nandroid backup, and send the boot.img and system.img and fastboot it into our devices?

What do you mean it doesn't work? I know it works because I've used it many times. Does it give an error? Are you actually changing the c:\location\to\recovery.img to the proper location and name of the recovery file?

Yes ofc i got the path right. It gives this error:
"cannot load 'recovery'"

That typically means that it can't find the file (which seems like it is looking for just recovery, not recovery.img or whatever the name is). Have you tried using tab completion to make sure it is the right filename?

If i write wrong filename it gives me another error. Yes the filename and path is 100% accurate.
I'm trying to fastboot flash system system.img to then fastboot boot boot.img to my N1 but everytime I flash the system.img it gets stuck a 1/4 of the way.
So basically, can someone please tell me how to get my N1 to stock so I can start from scratch with the CM7 flash?
Here is my system info:
-Nexus One (Unlocked) - T-Mobile service provider
-Android Version- 2.3.6
-Baseband Version- 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04
-Kernel Version- 2.6.35.7-59465-g42bad32 [email protected] #1
-Build Number- GRK39F
I have fastboot access but no adb access.
If you can provide the necessary files needed for this I would greatly appreciate it.

[Q] Want to go from CM7 to ICS, need some help

The last time I flashed a custom rom to my phone was CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1-N1.
I'd really like to get ICS on it, but the process seems just so much more confusing this time around. If anyone give me a breakdown of what I'd need to do, or even if they could just point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.
i never messed with that as they are always a lil buggy i like sense better ^_^ try asking people in that thread im sure they be happy to help you bro

There are at least 3 ICS ROMs with 2 are in the working progress and the other we don't know what is the status of it. Spend some time to read first to gain some knowledge and procedures. They are in the Development section of Nexus One. And, remember, once you have Ice Cream Sandwich you don't want to have Gingerbread
u can flash this miui ics as like anyother roms before
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1479348
but for other ics roms u need to partition /system. for that first u need to know abt blackrose.

The process is actually easier than the process you went through to root your phone and install CM7.
First, download the ICS firmware zip file to your phone's sdcard.
Next, make your backup using TitaniumBackup.
For most ICS firmware, you'll need to repartition your hboot. Google for blackrose-manual_120216.zip, download to your computer, unzip and look for the hboot_brcust-220-10-206.nb0 file. This one is pre-configured with the right partition sizes. Follow the instructions in the README file, which are basically:
Update your recovery firmware, by downloading to your computer and then using fastboot from your computer. I used the Amon-RA recovery for CM and stayed with it for ICS.
On the phone, enable USB Debugging in the CM Developer settings menu.
Boot the phone into the bootloader and go to FastBoot mode. It'll tell you what HBOOT you currently have. Read the instructions in the blackrose README to see which (if any) of the goXX.lol files you need. Then, on the computer:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery goXX.lol
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img
Next, flash the new hboot:
Code:
fastboot flash hboot hboot_brcust-220-10-206.nb0
The blackrose-manual zip contains fastboot binaries for Linux, Mac and Windows. If you need a fastboot for FreeBSD, send me a PM.
Then boot into recovery, do a Nandroid backup, then a full wipe, then install the ICS firmware zip you put on the sdcard earlier.
That should be all. Once the new system is booted, you'll use Titanium again to restore your apps.
For what it's worth, the BCM firmware is based on CM with all the CM additions you're used to, so things will be pretty familiar. It's running well for me.

While, in theory, you are correct, I restored my GB apps using TB because it is very fast to do so. In practice, they all appear to be working just fine. I believe I have run every one of them to make sure.
But I agree that a better general procedure would be to restore the apps themselves from the Play Store then restore your former app data using TB.

The instructions are in the Blackrose thread in the Development section, you don't need to use the manual if you're using Windows.
I would read the blackrose thread so you understand what you are doing and why. Easier to get out of trouble and harder to get into it. You probably did same for CM7. The blackrose hboot is not easy to work with without knowing what you are doing. The backrose thread has pre requisites in OP, like install of drivers if you don't have them.
You guys sure the fastboot command for the exploit has the word "recovery" in it or should be:
fastboot boot go.lol
where go.lol is exact name of exploit from the actual blackrose binary folder depending what version of blackrose you are fastbooting. could be "fastboot boot go2.lol" etc
just a suggestion--
So I was able to use blackrose to repartition my system cache, but now I've got a problem. In the bootloader, when I select "Recovery" the phone hangs on the Nexus "X" logo, and I'm unable to get my phone to reboot into anything but the bootloader.
you probably lost recovery and need to re fastboot it
i once had to fastboot erase system before the recovery would flash
all these issues are in the thread
Would this be the correct thing to do? http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Nexus_One/Recovery_Images
good info but if you have sdk and know fastboot do this
Copy recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img to a location where fastboot can find it. Usually tools folder.
Boot your phone into fastboot mode (power on while holding the trackball)
Connect your phone via usb to your pc
type fastboot devices (to make sure that fastboot "sees" your phone)
type fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img or whatever exact name your recovery is
I was able to get into recovery, but now when I select "Flash zip from sdcard", I get an error saying that there was No Signature and that the Verification Failed.

You need to disable the signature verification in the recovery and then flash the ROM
Thanks so much for everyone's help! I've got ICS up and running now thanks to you.
Since this forum account is too new to post in the BCM thread, I guess I'll try asking a question here instead.
So far there's two problems I've encountered that would be dealbreakers for BCM. I saw on the BCM thread that voice search is currently broken, but it seems like it's kind of unexpected and will likely be fixed. The other issue I have, that I can't find anyone else complaining about, is that I don't seem to have the Car Home app anymore. Has anybody else run into this issue, or know a fix? I use my phone in my car pretty much every day in my car dock, and make extensive use of both the car home app and the voice search feature for getting navigation directions.
If there's a better place to post these questions, feel free to let me know!
Thanks
audio has been ab issue for me and others on ics and sense roms lately, don't know why. i am back on CM7 Kangs atm bc of it. hope it is found and fixed. the current remedies don't work for me
glad you are up and running, all these roms have issues of some type for a few at least. goes with the territory--
someone should be able to get you a car home apk you can install or push thru adb--i always delete mine as i don't use--sorry. might be able to find it thru search/google
posting here is perfectly fine--it a couple general threads for a "meaningful" post and you will be to ten real quick
enjoy rom

I thought the pre-partitioned blackrose-220-10-206 was in that zip, but I see now that I found it on the Evervolv ROM thread in the Nexus One development forum. Sorry for not remembering to mention that.

BCM Version RC3.3Ux has very broken voice input. Many folk (including me) have commented that no VoIP apps work with it. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. BCM3.2U2 works fine, so I have reverted to that version for now.
You can install the CarHome app from the Play Store; it doesn't seem to be included in the BCM zip file.

Going back to stock
What you need to know before going back to stock:
Your bootloader will never be "LOCKED" again. You can't restore it. You can only relock it.
"TAMPERED" text in bootloader will disappear only after proceeding method 2.
There are 3 main methods. All three will be described below.
Method 1 - only for users with .401 devices (for more info click here - RUU variants)
Visit this thread - [ROM] HTC One *STOCK* ROM
Download stock odexed version of most recent firmware and recovery.img
Move recovery.img to c:\mini-sdk location
Boot your device in recovery mode (power off the device and turn it on using power + vol down buttons and select "RECOVERY")
In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard" and "choose zip from sdcard".
Navigate to the location of stock ROM (zip) package and confirm flashing procedure.
After flashing process is complete, reboot the device in bootloader mode.
Connect your device to the PC
Boot your device in fastboot mode (like you did during unlocking bootloader - power off the device and turn it on using power + vol down buttons and select "FASTBOOT")
Open up command prompt ( Start > Run > type cmd and hit enter ). The window that appears is called Command Prompt. <click here to see the image>
Navigate to where you unzipped "mini-sdk" package (type in Command Prompt: cd c:\mini-sdk). Note: make sure the path is not c:\mini-sdk\mini-sdk
In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You have now stock boot, system and recovery partitions. Time to relock your bootloader.
In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot oem lock

mini-sdk: http://goo.gl/T6InE (credit mike1986.)
make a folder in C such as: minisdk. Then extract everything in the compressed file to C:\minisdk. You should have fastboot.exe and adb.exe in that folder (together with other api file)
now, you should move the recovery image and odexed rom to C:\minisdk and follow the steps in my previous post.
Please read whole process before starting so you can have a clear picture of what you're gonna do

I suggest you to S-OFF your device so you can remove the tamper message/lock/relock/unlock your bootloader easily. Go to One Original Android Dev forum, search for a thread "s-off with revone" (usually at first page) and follow the instruction

Stock Recovery, Nandroid, Boot | One Mini 2

Hi All,
I see a lot of people asking for stock stuff for the HTC One Mini 2, please find them here:

What is the exact problem you are facing when flashing the stock file. PLEASE EXPLAIN FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDNG.
ELSE YOU CAN TRY THE BELOW.
NB: I AM ASSUMING THINGS AND GIVING THIS INFORMATION, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS AS I DONT KNOW THE EXACT PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING.
Make sure device is 100% battery.
1st try this:
1-Download this file: [ https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_1zjuazXSqbQ0p6NWtvRk9OMzA/edit?pli=1 ] and install in Windows (Run as Administrator).
2-Open Command window and type:
Code:
cd c:\adb
3-now on your device use Vol keys to choose and power key to select, and choose FASTBOOT
4-now download the attached file boot_signed.rar (extract the file in C:\adb folder)
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
6-type in command window:
Code:
fastboot reboot
IF THIS DID NOT WORK, THEN TRY THIS:
Download this [ https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934555508 ] file and rename it to 0P8BIMG.zip and place it into the SD card (MMC Card), restart the device and let it boot into the HBoot menu.
Reboot device from the boot mode, if the device automatically reboot into the boot menu then it will start flashing the file automatically.
Good Luck, let me know how it went.
Try and let me know.
this is excellent, all in one place...
However, please forgive my ignorance in recovery/backup terminology (I hope it is not just me) but I get confused by the use of 'Nandroid' backup, Stock Rom, and .zip and .img files for flashing.
I have successfully used TWRP to flash the NostromoPop ROM, but have not been successful with any other .zip file supposedly a Stock ROM.
I have been hoping that somebody could put a rooted Stock ROM so that I can try it as a way to get around the KitKat blocks on writing to the SD card for some of my autosync apps.
Am I making any sense?
Many thanks if you can help

Hi,
As I understand you cannot flash a stock ROM with customer Recovery, as far as I know you need stock Recovery to flash a stock ROM, I remember trying stock ROM on TWRP but it failed, could be due to some other reason, I read somewhere it has something to do with file signatures.
As for SD write fix, you need to have root access other than that there is no fix for it, rooting with SuperUser Binary... I myself did want to try it now that I am back on stock but then I am greedy for Marshmallow (if they could fix that Loud Speaker issue) I am all in for Android M, I tried to get in touch with people on the Cyanogen Forums but no luck as I have not yet received verification email, tried so many times, no luck and as it seems there is no Marshmallow development on HTC One Mini 2....
I will wait and see how it goes...
If I am correct you can keep stock ROM and flash SU Binary and get root access and then install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix to get it done with, it ought to work, haven't tried myself...
The recovery image you gave seems a little broken, but the backup worked...thought I recommend a factory reset unless you want the system language to be weird...

Which recovery image have you used, I have flashed the newer version successfully, yes the backup worked and has non-English language as default.

I believe you flashed a recovery with another recovery, which I think is not the right way, the right way is to use the command to overwrite TWRP with stock recovery.

HI,
Just wanted to know if you are having any issues with low audio after restoring Android backup from TWRP, I feel my audio is way too low and cant be heard just if I am outside my room..
I didn't have any audio problems, it could just be you being used to cm's 3rd party BoomSound replacement

Well that would exsplain why some elements of the stock recovery remained after I reflashed twrp with a app on my phone, e.g. it fixed the image I get when I hook my device up to power when it is turned off...before that it would just boot me into a unusable twrp homepage
The stock RUU file is corrupt! (tried 5 times now)
Where can I get a A stock flash or a ROM that is NOT ROOTED please?
I tried the 0P8BIMG.zip on SD card method and that did not work either.
Also, I thought the RUU file is meant to be an executable not a zip file. I'm confused...

I doubt its corrupted, which OS are you running currently ?, when I tried it, it failed due to the installed stock ROM being newer than the one being installed and since I have S-ON I cant downgrade it...
You can Nandroid Restore the stock backup, I have personally tried and it works....
Another way to do it is to have the Nandroid Restore and then use Sunshine to S-OFF (as sunshine only works on stock or near-stock ROMs) and then flash with 0P8BIMG.zip, it should work then, just a thought...

Its a signed boot file, meaning it flashes successfully should the device fail to boot or stuck on boot or in other words if the device does not boot and remains on HTC, this flashing this should solve your problem.
Hi all I have been directed here from another thread as I am looking to place a stock rom on my htc one mini 2 without bloatware, I have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP but the stock rom remains the same all I want is to install a rom via TWRP if at all possible. Is the 1gig one ok for that or will i need to completely put the stock recovery back on and the phone is unlocked to all networks if that makes any different
Thank in advance

Hi,
Its not possible to flash stock rom via TWRP, plus you need to have S-Off.
The only way to go complete stock is to restore Nandroid Backup and then flash stock recovery.

Hi,
Yes you will have to restore the Nandroid Backup, this backup is completely of a stock ROM, no edition, however it does not have some apps like the Calculator, Flash etc for some reason.
However I found the missing apps from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/

if yes could I please have the steps to put the stock recovery on with ADB commands as I really don't want to brick my phone (Yes I know you take no resposibilty etc) just happier to have as least the correct file names and adb commands.
And last I just copy the new stock RUU to my phone and install?
You help is as always greatly appreciated as no one seems to be ddoing anything anymore for this phone

[A2017U][TWRP System Image] Stock System Image of B20 for full stock restore and OTAs

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO THE A2017U VARIANT, DO NOT USE THIS FILE ON OTHER VERSIONS
Disclaimer - don't blame me if something goes wrong
As title says, this is a full stock unmodified B20 TWRP system image. It kan be used in addition to stock boot and recovery images to restore the US A7 to conditions which will be like stock and allow to flash upcoming OTA. This was tested by @jkuczera here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3459107

If you are BL unlocked, you will need to lock it before flashing old recovery and boot (this may not be necessary to get MR2 to flash, depending on what it checks, but the phone might not boot, unknown). This will make your phone verify boot, recovery and /system again, so flash TWRP from tenfar's thread to be able boot after relocking since his is signed
To restore, unzip the file above to TWRP folder on the SD Card, then in TWRP under mount points unmount /system and put check mark on mount system as read-only. The read-only part is important so that TWRP does not modify the /system apon exit. You can then restore boot, recovery and system image.
Another partition, fastboot, was altered if you applied B20_boot, but so far no OTA has check it so it should be fine as is. Chance is it will be just overwritten by next OTA, but in case that changes, info will be added. This step is more risky since it involves using dd command and has to be applied carefully.
EDIT: looks like @Unjustified Dev posted new build that will flash fastboot image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68677272&postcount=133
You should then boot to stock recovery and factory wipe
In case you did not dump your boot and recovery, they can be found in @rczrider's post here

Indeed and before rebooting , you MUST Wipe Data + Internal Storage, cuz you are flashing new boot and system and will get in conflicts if there no wipe.
Just for clarity sake these are the steps I need to take to get back to B20 from B20_Boot?
1. fastboot oem lock
2. put system image from OP's post AND stock_boot_backup.img AND stock_recovery_backup.img from rczrider's post into TWRP folder.
3. in TWRP unmount /system and check mark on mount system as read only.
4. Flash boot, recovery, and system image.
5. Wipe Data and Internal Storage.
6. Profit?

Step 6 to pull your own: http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165
Or you can download the one I pulled from my device (it can be found in the Mega folder linked in the OP): http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/untouched-b20-boot-recovery-files-t3443818
And as option 3 it's inside the B18toB20 OTA file floating somewhere around here
Alright I tried this and something went wrong.
First thing I did was copy all the files where they needed to be. Then I booted into fastboot and did a "fastboot oem lock".
Then my device would do nothing. I would boot up to the ZTE logo then go black a second later. I tried to force into recovery by selecting recovery in fastboot but same thing, ZTE logo then blackness.
I got it back by getting into fastboot and performing a "fastboot oem unlock" again. All it did was wipe data.
What did I do wrong? I thought I am supposed to lock bootloader first before I restore system and flash recover and boot????

Ok so if you modified boot, system or recovery in anyway then after BL lock it will not boot since it will fail secure boot, so you need to load the signed TWRP from tenfar's thread via EDL after locking. That will let you run TWRP with locked BL. Although ig you just want stock for upcoming OTA, then you might be good staying unlocked. If for return, then you should lock it

Yeah, now that we know fastboot will work even on stock boot that will work as well. The only thing you won't be able to do is flash back the B20 fastboot image that way, but enough to pass OTA most likely. The long way you can revert the fastboot image as well. I only wanted to post the image to begin with, but then wrote out instruction as they rolled around in my head. This will change soon anyways so a proper write-up will happen, just not by me, Documentation was never my forte
My BL is unlocked from ZTE right now, If I want to get CM for future but also want upcoming update from ZTE? What are the exact steps that I need to follow to get future OTA but also keep the BL unlocked for future CM? Please help as I'm confused with all these instructions.

All right I'm no expert either but I'll try to make this as straightforward as possible.
1) Format your SD card as exFAT. This is important as otherwise you will not be able to transfer the system image to your SD card since it is 6GB. To do this you can just plug it in to your PC, right click, Format and then select exFAT from the dropdown.
2) Download tenfar's tool for B20, rczrider's boot and recovery backup, and the system image backup from the link in the OP.
3) Create a new folder in /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/serial_number/.Move the stock_boot_backup and stock_recovery backup into the folder.
4) Using a program such as 7zip, extract the 6GB system image file and move it to the same folder.
6) Go to into fastboot mode. Before you do anything you have to relock the bootloader otherwise the system will be modified and you want to be 100? stock. Execute 'fastboot oem lock'. You should then boot to a black screen.
7) Unzip tenfar's tool. Go to the unzipped folder, then hold down shift+right click and select 'Open command window here'. Execute 'axon7root.exe -p [COMPORT #] -r. To figure out your com port #, go to Device Manager, then go to down to where it says "Qualcomm Loader..." and your com port number is the number at the end. So for example if your com port number is 5, you should execute axon7root.exe -p 5 -r. Allow the program to do its thing.
5) Boot into TWRP. Do not swipe to allow modifications. Once in TWRP, go to "Install", "Install Image" at the bottom right hand corner, and then navigate to the stock_recovery_backup in the folder that you moved it to to. Select it and then choose the Recovery partition to flash it to. Do the same thing for stock_boot_backup.
6) Once you have flashed boot and recovery, go to the main menu, then "Restore" and then Restore the system image backup.
7) Go to wipe and then slide to factory reset. Finally, reboot system.
Hope that helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Has anyone who requested the bootloader unlock from ZTE (and mistakenly installed it) returned to stock and been able to get OTA's? I followed this guide and seemed to have returned to stock fine but the only OTA I can get now is the bootloader unlock OTA. I've downloaded and discarded it several times but that is the only one I can get. Anyone know of a way to bypass this OTA and get the new MR2 that was just released? I want to get OTA's until the custom roms start flowing.
Thanks!

From what I can tell, once you apply for official bootloader unlock, your IMEI is placed on a list that will not get any future OTA updates set to it.
However, the OTA for B20 to B27 has been uploaded here: https://mega.nz/#F!kYtRAJjJ!5tD1zPpo0nw2tJwhANA9pQ
Try flashing that via stock recovery.
Quick question for anyone who might know.
The Link to system image which is : https://cloud.swehes.com/index.php/s/31V7GgihohBCdfy has the following;
1. system_image.emmc.win
2. system_image.emmc.win.md5
Am I suppose to rename system_image.emmc.win to system_image.emmc.img and load?
it's not as clear that's why I ask but I ended up downloading rczrider system.img and reflashed via TWRP since I was a bit confused.
Thanks!

I simply just went into TWRP backed up by boot so it would create a directory that contains the info I needed copied the system_image.emmc.win and system_image.emmc.win.md5 and restored.

I suspected as much. I downloaded the update and tried to flash it via the stock recovery using the update for ADB option but it fails saying that the package is not a ks package. Booooo. I really wanted this MR becasue they addressed the weak cell signal which I think contributes significantly to my battery drain. Not sure if there are any alternatives to get the update installed. Not very a happy about the ceased OTA's due to the bootloader unlock. Thinking the new Nexus (or whatever they are going to call them) is looking pretty good at the moment.

Try the microSD card method instead.
First, make sure OEM Unlocking is checked in developer settings, rename the OTA to "update.zip", put on microSD, boot into stock recovery, and choose update from microSD.
