MD5 Sum Mismatch - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive happened to this to me twice and idk what do.
i tries the flashable zip fix and didnt work, and i know i didnt rname it or have spaces. i can still flash and all but it just bothers me i cant restore to my stock backup ( my first back up)
any suggestions?

Have you changed recoveries since you made the backup? I've heard that may affect it, though I'm not positive.

Well sorta, if i was using amon its file was nandroid, so i kept that cebrrate from any back ups i did with CW, however i did upgrade CWfrom 2507 to 3.005 or something like thst, and used the same backups as that

Have you tried restoring it through amon recovery? Or whatever recovery you used to make the backup.

FYI, you can restore an amon ra backup using cwm. All you need to do is move the backup from the nandroid folder on your sd to the clockworkmod/backup folder. MD5 mismatch is different entirely, here's a thread about fixing it for those who may fid this thread in a future search http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714114

cool! thanks bro

First things first do not under any circumstances run the 2.1 ruu. Are you still using the stock 1.5 radio?

okay I am guessing that you said yes to using the stock radio. So this is easy do you still got your original recovery image and your original nandroid? Just go into recovery and nandoid back to stock 1.5 then reboot and download flashrec and rename your original recovery image to recovery-backup and place on your sd card. Install flashrec and either reboot or open it and press restore backup image

Yes, please let us know where to throw this to be ready to use it I have an AOSP build cooking right now (OSX) for the S, and I want to have this ready to trigger a restore from if I nuke my phone
sure, unzip this and mount usb storage on your phone. Copy the unzipped folder into the clockworkmod/backup on the phone then go into recovery -back up and restore -restore to verify its there.

Yeah i got the same error last night i think the error occurs during the transfer to the phone if its disturbed or strained in some way. So delete the back up from the phone and be sure the only thing your doing on the pc at the time is putting the back up back on the phone..... it worked for me
Why would I be getting and MD5 missmatch
I'm getting the md5 mismatch too, I managed to fastboot erase /system (like an idiot, none of the system.img's I have are flashing...) And I kinda NEED this nandroid or I'm a bit screwed. How to solve md5 issue?
I downloaded it to my phone and extracted with root explorer. Moved it to clockwork backup and it worked perfectly...

I keep getting an md5 mismatch, i can't boot the phone as there's no /system (erased via fastboot - not a good judgement call from me...) How did you get it to run in cwm recovery?

Iso: stock Rogers rooted ROM or a nand backup of someone running it

As the title say, I'm in search of someone who is running the stock Rogers ROM for HTC Raider and want to make a backup of it so I could use it please.. Thanks
If anyone is curious as to why he needs this and can't use something else... The original owner had the stock ICS rooted ROM on the device. The OP flashed a new ROM without flashing the kernel first. Now the device will not go past HBOOT (he CAN get to recovery). Here's the kicker, his computer no longer reads his device when he plugs it in. He tried other USB cords/ports, tried adb/fastboot and no luck. So essentially this is where we are.
- Stock Rogers ICS kernel
- Some other ROM
- Unlocked bootloader and S-ON
- No access to computer
Can't flash a kernel because no access to computer, can't boot up the phone to use an app to flash the kernel, not S-OFF. His SD card is not corrupt however, he can take it out and read/write, just not when it's in the Raider. RUU and PH zip won't work because unlocked bootloader and not able to connect to computer.
So essentially I think what might work is if someone can offer us a ROOTED ROGERS ICS ROM zip. Also what might work is a nand backup from someone on the stock Rogers ROM. This way he can put it on the SD card, flash/restore from recovery, and then he will have the matching kernel+ROM.
I have a stock ICS RUU Rogers if you want it?
I got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836
But download takes forever. PM me and ill put it on my dropbox.
EDIT:
Errr never mind. Let me see if i can get a NAND backup of my ROM

That would be great man. I'm really thinking that might do the trick, everything else isn't working.
Just curious, what recovery are you running? OP, what recovery are you running as well? I don't think it'll matter if you two have different recoveries but it doesn't hurt to check.

Hey dude, do you guys want the RUU or the CWM backup?
I just flashed CWM v5.5.0.4, this one here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423075
Im currently backing up my device ATM. Will go back to stock ICS and backup that after. Will post the stock ICS in 40 mins or so (eating and doing this at the same time ).
sorry, hit a little snag. I end up having to re-flash, re-root, etc the whole works since i got a CWM recovery loop.
Here's the RUU of the rogers one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6792158/RUU....21_34.30.701040.22_release_264282_signed.exe
Im heading in a bit, so ill do a backup using WCX recovery method instead of CWM.

[Q] Unable to do a CWM backup after install of DM x1.3

Nope, doesn't work.
I've got some time to try to backup my apps with Titanium first.
Then, used AIOT to do revert to old BL then revert to new BL. Trying to use older versions of CWM and so on. But no luck. When using GjangoManouche x1.2.1 everything is OK when verifying MD5 and able to restore but not with DM x1.3.
Tryed many times with many config combinaisons.
What can cause this? I'm alone or it happen to others too?
Any feedback apreciated.
Forgot to say : I can't do a NVFlash Backup too from AOIT.
Any other tool to FULLY backup my Phone like CWM do?.
Ok guys, I found a solution for my problems.
Just before to do a backup, I must wipe the cache!...

I'd say yes, but it's personal preference really. If you'd happen to lose your EFS, then you're screwed because it contains your IMEI, MAC Address, Wifi MAC Address, etc...
If you flash a lot of ROMs I would say yes, but if you flash zero ROMs or very few, then I would say it's not totally necessary. It only takes one bad flash to ruin your EFS.
No one replied so I figured, why not?

Just do a regular Nandroid backup in recovery via TWRP and there is a check box for the EFS partition. Check it along with anything else you might want to back up at the time. Make sure you are on the latest TWRP version, otherwise you may not have this option.

I wasn't the one who originally asked the question I just saw something about needing to backup something. I'm kinda paranoid about backing things up. Few more things to ask. Do you back EFS up with every nandroid and just restore it with everything else, or do you keep a copy of just the EFS itself and restore it separately if something messes up?

I do a one time back of of just the EFS for each major android update, then erase the older version.
Like right now I have the efs backup for 5.0.2. When 5.1 comes to play I will back that up and then delete the 5.0.2. Just my preference

One more question. Can you make a backup of just the EFS partition and restore just that partition or do you have to restore a complete nandroid of the whole system? Thanks I'm sure this is all basic stuff to you but I seem to learn something new every day.
