What's Your Favorite Music App For Your Xoom? - Xoom Themes and Apps

Hi there. I was just curious as to what music app you can call your main on your Xoom? Is it the stock music app or something else?
Personally my main music app is PowerAMP Premium. It has a sleek interface, many options to configure, a built in equalizer that just makes the songs sound fantastic, an auto download of album art feature, and it allows you to go through your music by the folders you have them in rather than just by album or artist only. It can't get much better than that in my opinion. I only wish it had visualizations much like windows media player on a desktop. Come to think of it... I don't think I have seen a music app on the market that has music visualizations built into it. Is there a such thing right now?
So do you have another music app as your main? Or do you have the same one like I do? Share with us.

poweramp is definitely the must have music app for anyone who loves listening to music on their xoom so many features its worth the money

Personally I use Subsonic on every Android device I own.

Winamp is not bad for free. Album art grabber work's pretty well too

Fully agree. Have all my music on my computer anywhere in the world is just too good. If Google does eventually release their cloud service I may switch, but subsonic is just BOSS. I wouldn't recommended it to any not tech user but this is xda...

I got 20gb from Amazon, so I just uploaded all my music to the cloud and I'm using their cloudplayer. Works nicely, although it did take a few days for me to upload 18gigs of music. I don't have much of an upload speed :-/

Maybe it's just me, but I'm really digging the tablet music app. On my Nexus One I use PlayerPro.
I really don't use the Xoom for music anyways. I did add about 8 or 9 gb of my favorite music but so far, I hardly make use of it. Only time I listen to music is in my car (Nexus One to car stereo), or when I'm in my home office.

Definitely Audiogalaxy. It allows me to stream any of the 7,500+ music files (mostly FLAC) on my home PC to any of my android devices.

been using amazon cloud player on my xoom, easy way to keep most of my library accessible to me no matter where I am. right now I have like 8GB of songs on amazon cloud player, but even so I primarily use my Zune HD and zune pass for most of my music.

If you want a really cool and unique looking app check out cube (superscript 3) It has a very interesting UI and some neat add-ons like new releases and local live shows from artists in your library. But I also have the paid PowerAMP app

how about this... I would like to upload all my music to my website/FTPsite, is there a good app that will stream the music from there?

Pandora for me... I don't have much of a music collection

Power Amp fo sho! Well worth the money!

So far so good! Lots of good opinions and lots of good options. Some are using PowerAMP, some use a syncing method from computer to device, while others don't have much music and just stream from the internet. Good stuff! Keep 'em coming!
On a side note I do love to stream internet radio all the time. My app of choice for streaming Shoutcast stations is called XiiaLive, which was formerly know as DroidLive. I like the feel and look of it. I heard someone say Pandora as well... gotta love the Pandora!

What about subsonic? I havent tested it on a xoom but would be nice if someone tried it, you basically turn your pc into the server and your phone can access any songs in the library over a network connection 3G/wifi

Be careful with Pandora. They harvest and sell personal data:
http://socialtimes.com/pandora-under-investigation-for-sharing-your-personal-information_b55812

Im using Rhapsody. $15 a month unlimited music, 3 mobile devices authorized, (I use it on my OG Droid too) and it shares the library with those devices, and PC. You can download your playlists for offline playback which is great since I don't pay for 3G service on Xoom. Has radio playlists but probably not as good as pandora, but it doesn't steal your identity.
I was using Zunepass, but since this is my main device especially in my car, Zune has become irrelevant. Zune has nicer software, but doesn't have the library media mirroring like Rhapsody.
Not to mention there's no way to use it on an android device.
Since I too own very little music, rental services are great. I got scared by illegal downloads back when my University started identifying students to the RIAA (down and up speeds were unreal on campus, esp. after hours, they eventually capped them after I left) and they were being sued for $3000 per song! I figured the risk wasn't worth the reward.

I use stock music app on the xoom. And doubletwist on my nexus one. I like doubletwist for its stability and simpleness.

The iTunes store. I don't pirate my music, and iTunes MP3 files are really great quality + DRM free.
I have a Zune subscription. Not able to use it on an android phone of course (haven't gotten my phone yet), but works wonders on my Zune HD.

You should read this before buying more songs off itunes. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20090113/0707133391.shtml
I get mine off of Amazon. Quick, relatively inexpensive, and relatively good quality.
I'm using doubletwist. I just installed imusic to try it out, but doesn't seem to be working rift. Either that or I'm missing something.
Try Music Junk guys..I don't think it's on the market but it's on 4shared. It's really slick.

My CD collection.
You still listen to CDs, don't you?
I still support my favorite artists and app developers.
I've used Amazon sometimes which is good quality. But mostly from my CD collection!

Best App to Stream Music/Video to Nook?

Just looking for an app that will allow me to stream all my music and videos to the Nook. Anyone have any suggestions?
VLC Stream & Convert is good for movies. Works for music as well. You have to pay for full version for full features like making playlists, optimizing video, etc. Try the free version and try it out.
Sweet, will do. Thanks.
I am using playon. Works great for streaming my ripped movies, Netflix, MLB games. Might want to check it out.
need app?
i don't think so
I use audiogalaxy for my music which is simple and working great so far.

You can stream Netflix through Playon? Hm... might have to try that out. I've been pretty happy with VLC S&C since I've got it working, but Netflix would be nice until they get around to making a proper Android app for it.

podcast app?

what podcast app do you guys use? im looking for a automatic downloader, like itunes.
10 characters
You could use Juice and have it download podcasts into a folder that Audiogalaxy, subsonic, or google music beta is watching and then just listen to them as they download and appear automatically.
Google listen works great for me.

Doggcatcher is amazing, however I am probably going to build one myself.
DoggCatcher. Period.

Yeah same here, really like it.
What does Dogcatcher and BeyondPod offer that Google Listen doesn't? I've started listening to podcasts a lot and curious if I should try these other apps.
Question: Any of these allow you to mark for offline listening/watching? Sort of like a..."Download now" button? Rather stream it...
doggcatcher is by far the most feature rich of the apps. i listen to at least 40 weekly podcasts (long commute, lots of driving for work) and I have tried all of the major apps. It even has a honeycomb layout (although that needs polishing). As far as the distinctions, it allows you to set both universal and podcast specific settings as far as autodownloads, listing, delete policies, etc. Its podcast search features are also outstanding. Another feature I use its backup and import/export abilities which means I can keep my settings between rom flashes, devices, etc... I could go on...
I encourage the other poster who said he was building his own (something I did a while back, but abandoned) to keep pushing the improvement. Things that would be cool are cloudsync (just track progress, read/unread, etc), better tablet layout, and better widgets.
but simple answer to OP: doggcatcher

Just purchased DoggCatcher, and I must say. WOW.
Worth every penny, Kind of a turn off that there wasn't a lite version that I could test with, but you know..15min window. but everyone reading this...believe me....WORTH IT 100%.
Thank you diaa08 for recommending this application. I am now using it on my Tablet as well as my Phone. ;-)

Especially i want to know if you have any problems using it from "no us countries"... I'm living in germany and I havent had any problems at the beginning, since a few weeks i can't log in to my MusicManager to upload new songs (Counld not identify your computer )
and i also would like to know if you are willing to pay for this kind of service.

Well they're going to be a lot like Apple and iTunes, although I didn't see anything about DRM. Which will be awesome, DRM is stupid and doesn't do anything.
I love Music right now...I use it to stream music that I don't always listen to and store on my phone when I actually do want to listen to it. It's great if my phone is off too, and I'm over at someone's house or something and want to play music from my library. I've had very few hiccups, sometimes I've had to force Music to upload songs, but not really that much. I'd like better control over adding songs to the cloud library though.
And no...I would NOT pay for this kind of service. I'd pay for EXTRA parts of the service, if I deemed them useful (which I probably wouldn't). And of course, I'd love to buy music from Google rather than Apple, I'd much rather support a company I care about.
I use Amazon Cloud Player which is nearly an identical service.
It's awesome btw.
Been using Google music off and on. The artist list can get really laggy over 3g if you have a lot of music. I'm more inclined to pay Pandora which works well over 3g even with the lower audio quality.

the new interface is a bit funky at times, but it very easy to navigate through. however, i still love me some poweramp!
force closes!!!

Radio

I'm back with Android after about 1 1/2 years with IOS iPhone 6. Is there a app that comes close to Apples iTunes Radio? I got used to listening to that because it was built into IOS. I know there is Pandora, Slacker..ect. Which one is the easiest and free of course. Most of those have a limit of 6 skips a hour. I seen there is Double twist music player, but is that also radio as well? I'm looking for something where I can save certain fav groups and play that style of music. Please help me out.
Not sure this is EXACTLY what you're looking for, but IHeartRadio is a legit online radio service. You can't find specific songs like Pandora, but you can find radio stations who are simulcasting online along with their terrestrial broadcasts. I use it occasionally when I want to hear live talk shows or even the occasional commercial lol
