increase your sd card read speeds - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

hi guys i found this page i a post in in milestone gerneral
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...-200-with-a-simple-tweak-hands-on-benchmarks/
(pls read before reading this further on)
i wonder if its possible to port this .zips to work in openrecovery cause i tried it and i dindn't have any effect and i wasn't able to install them via CWM.
So i edited the file manually to the different values and found out that 3072kb is the best one.
it pushed the writespeed from 3,5mb/s to 5mb/s
and the readspeed from 10mb/s to 30mb/s --> 16gb class 4 sd card
anybody who is able to do this?
greetings from me

there's an app in the market that can apply this change called "sd speed boost".
i also concluded that 3072 achieved the best speeds.
here are my results for 2048, 3072 & 4096.
Code:
Buffer 2048
Read Write
Run 1 3.7 18.8
Run 2 5.1 25.9
Run 3 4.6 35.3
Avg. 4.5 26.7
Buffer 3072
Read Write
Run 1 6.1 34.2
Run 2 6.9 30.1
Run 3 6.7 30.2
Avg. 6.6 31.5
Buffer 4096
Read Write
Run 1 5 34.4
Run 2 6.4 24.1
Run 3 5.4 40.6
Read Write
Avg. 5.6 33
tested with "sd tools" from market.

Strange!!
Check this out:
Pick1= 128(default)
Pick2= 2024
Why the writing speed decreased that much?!!!
PS: I don't know if is an optical illusion, but my app using app2ext are opening faster than before ( just a bit, but it's noticeable)

Please help: i have Diamond STORAGE FULL problem!

Hello..
its my first time to use windows mobile i have HTC diamond WM6.1 original htc rom..

ONLY! 6 MB free of 80.3 MB in phone Storage
and 1.7 GB free of 3.67 in Internal Storage

is that normal ?
i think the problem with the phone storage !
only 6 MB free !! thats really too little and slows my phone down!
although :
- i install all programs on Internal 4GB Storage
- all camera photos and all music on Internal 4GB storage
i dont know why its low space and i dont know how to clean it !!
any help ?
no any fix.. ?
right click the storage using file explorer on your PC. Click search.
In the search criteria specify all files (including hidden files) over 1MB or 1000KB and hit search. See what files come up. Delete unnecessary files or move to internal storage if files required.
Try clearing the opera cache and/or the google maps cache if you have an older version of google maps which stores the cache in phone memory.
New versions of google maps can be installed to internal storage and will put the cache there aswell...
supersanj
i did what u said and i found alot of strange files to me, but how to know if there are necessary or not for windows !! ..
Just leave the files where they are will you? I wouldn't be suprised if you install all your programs to main memory instead of internal storage, I'm also pretty sure you got some sort of theme installed
i install all programs on "internal storage" memory not "device" memory..

try romtoolbox, there you can create your own bootanimation gif and install it without any problem
Which compress method did u use? It must be "store " in order to work. I didn't know GIF extension works too. But try in jpg

nectro poster.. cant you see that the last post was 2 years ago? and donot try to earn your first 10 posts by going around reviving old threads without any reason
@OP....you simply donot use .gif for bootanimation. make a zip of the images.
download bootanimation maker from xda.

It's here, TWRP 2.0

http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
Pick Nook Color from right, download file and install from adb.
Or image to a sdcard (winimage or w32imager) to create a bootable sdcard.
Enjoy your new touchscreen recovery.

I'm not familiar with TWRP, is it some sort of ClockmodWork Recovery but with GUI?
Any more advantage?
It's recovery that uses the touch screen instead of buttons.
The backups don't appear to be compatible with CWM.
Adb doesn't recognize my NC or I'd install it. I did get to play a bit with it on my Touchpad tho.
Thanks Colchiro,
Another question.
As we all know CwMR v.3.0.2.8 will yield /data format problem on stock 1.2 or above, and that fixed by using CwMr v3.2.0.1 or above.
Does it this GUI TWRP resolve this incompatible issue? I meant, it works for all stock ROM versions?
Good question. I don't make the news, I just report it. I know they test it on many devices and flash, backup and restore many roms. I would think it'd be compatible, but I don't know 100%.
Also note, this is RC0 (release candidate), not a stable release. AFAIK, this is the first version released to the general public.
I see there's a post by eyeballer in the dev section. That'd be a good place for questions.
I want to try and have TWRP as an alternate recovery. However, I can't access a PC at the moment. Is there a way to copy the files to the boot partition by just using the Nook itself? I dunno, some file manager that can access the boot partition (tried File Expert, Astro and Root Explorer to no avail) or some commands that I can put in Terminal Emulator perhaps? Sorry if I'm being too difficult, I just don't have access to a PC and I'm dying to try this out, I've been waiting for these thing to get released since I first saw it.

Merge the interal storage to one partition

I just bought a new 32gb memory card, and im curious if it's possible to merge my two internal storage partition into one big ROM partition?
Currently the interal storage is divided like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is it possible to merge this in to one partition, so that I don't need to have 3 different partitions when I use my SD card?
nope thats not possible at all. not in my knowledge. both are totally different type of storage with different allocated addresses, one being much faster than other. plus when u plug ur phone to a computer or to a usb
the memory card is not readable by the phone during that time. So no you cant merge the two.

Ah, okay. I thought the two partitions came from the 16 GB storage.
If I recall correctly, I think I saw a post on how to it do a long time ago. Couldn't seem to find it again though.

You're correct, the two partitions do come from the 16 GB emmc.:good:
But still, you can't merge them.

Android One Custom Rom Reviews[Chroma Rom]

Hi Guys this Is Joel back with another review of Chroma Rom.
The Rom is based on Android 6.0.1 Android security patch Feb1,2016 with build no. MMB29U
So the Rom is very good in everything except some but first lets see what we got in this rom
Users get stock android experience and some special features included in the special settings named as 'Chroma'
there is no lags no system errors in his rom and it comes with very less apps in this rom users get about 2.2GB internal storage to use.
I have around 54 apps and still i got 407MB storage free.but the only thing which is bad is the battery yes i kinda feel that the software is enhanced but not the battery.After using the battery i feel the experience the stock android 6.0 battery which didnt even lasts for half a day the same is the condition here but there is a solution in which the battery life can be expanded and that is using root.
Solution=U have to root your device [the link will be in the description] and install 3 things 1.Kernal Auditor. 2.Thunderzap Control.
3. Install Thunderzap 5.1 Kernal. After installing the things simply open the kernal auditor and enable 1,2,3, CPU cores and disable the fourth one and set CPU governer into powersave mode thats it reboot the device:good:
Talking about RAM there is no issue i get 540MB free RAM after moderate usage and multitasking works very well.
Thats it guys there is no other bug in the Rom and i recommend u to use this rom for ur daily usage.
small video review will be given so plz dont forget to check it out.Hit the thanks button if u like it. Thank You
