Then we have to use another framework-res.apk. Shure, this will work^^
Look, theming an existing (I've done that for HTC Hero and Nexus One before, can't live without a glass Statusbar) thing is really simple.
Everything in this "Theme" is in the framework-res.apk, like the battery percentage mod is, too.
It could be, that there are problems on other MCR Versions. Paul has so many options in his kitchen, so I can't put this on every version and so one.
What I can do is a zip file which contains the folder with the replaced icons and a zip file with a working update script.
All, what the users have to do is extracting their own framework-res.apk out of their downloaded rom, open it with 7zip (or similar) and put this icons in it. Then put the patched framework-res.apk in the update.zip and flash it.
Sounds bad but is really easy.
Is this an option for you?

Yes no problem, I can try that
edit: I flashed this, worked, but my toggle buttons is gone (wifi,bluetooth etc) and would it be possible to make the "slide down" black instead of white?

These are the Iocns for the Theme:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7886087/Optimus Speed/framework-res.zip
I think, you must delete my Battery Icons for your work.
EDIT:
Yes, thats what I've expected from Pauls Kitchen.
Mine doesn't have the toggles.
You must do, what I have written before.
Open your framework-res with 7zip and copy the icons to the correct folders.
Now put your framework-res.apk in the update.zip and reflash. Problems gone.
So we can easily make it possible for every rom and kitchen version^^
EDIT2:
Black Version. Look into the folder, there are only a few icons. You can see the file and change it with another in the colour you want.
But transparency doesn't work there.

Did you added transition animation??

Whoops, forgotten that. Yes, I have.
Nice, isn't it?

Figured it out myself

Yes nice =) just one i loved on nexus is missing, the one that flip from a side when you open the widgets/wallpapers etc menu on launcher

IS it meant to be like this ?
Hi,
I flashed your them and everything works fine. but when im on the lockscreen i can see my whole background image under the statusbar but when im in startscreen the statusbar is black.....
How can i change it ? is it possible ?
//Ekkis

You are on Launcher Pro, right?
Sorry, Fede doesn't have an uncheck for wallpaper hack, like ADW Launcher has.
This problem is only with Launcher Pro and static wallpapers.
Two workarounds:
1. Use ADW Launcher
2. Use Launcher Pro, install "Shake them all" Livewallpaper, activate this and choose your static wallpaper as background of "Shake them all"
I prefer first^^

Black time in statusbar :-S
Hello everyone.
coming from a ROM with standard ASOP screen, and the time in statusbar is black? can I change that somewere?
/Otto

I will make a how-to, that everyone can do his own framework-res, so that everyone can use the theme with every rom.
About the black clock:
I can try to patch it with Colour Changer. Anyone tried this with 2x?
It is because you are not on the stock themed MoDaCo Rom, right?

Q: What would happen if we were to flash this on a non-deodex'ed system? Very bad things?

Is there a way to get this to work with jt's clean rom? His system is deodexed. :-\

Thanksfor the confirmation, the only real reason I said this was because I used a deodex'ed settings.apk. So I guess it isn't required to be on a deodexed version but I mainly specified it to avoid any possible errors.

Should work fine on his Rom. As always make a backup before flashing anything just as a precaution.

Frost,

Quick Side question??
I was wondering if you could port over the Blue Minimalism v1.3 Theme for our fascinate that raiderep put together to work on a deodexed rom on the epic this is a must have Frost Remix for us to all have, there are 3 total files of this Blue Minimalism one is the Theme zip its self the other two is a matching lockscreen and Dialer. I will be tester for it as well if you take this on!!
Once again thanks for all the great work you do!!
works great, enjoying it! Would love to see more skinned apps or a quick tutorial on how to skin apps/widgets...not afraid to get my hands dirty

Welcome to AeroFire, a theme mod to make the HTC Wildfire look a little more stylish.
Based on Wilpuzzle v0.8 by danne_jo, the rom has all the same basic features, a few tweaks here and there nothing worth noting.
Everything works perfectly, fast and stable. Can be overclocked using HCDR.Jacobs kernel.
Gingerbread keyboard and Livewallpapers(Only downloaded ones work).
Installation instructions:
-------------------------
1. titanium backup your apps and stuff
2. boot to recovery
3. nandroid backup(not that its needed but there's always the chance you don't like it or that you stuff something up)
4. mount usb (partitions menu) -> paste ROM on the SD card
5. WIPE THE PHONE!
6. Wipe Cache
7. Choose install zip from SD Card
8. Locate Zip and install
9. Boot takes about 10min after install so don't panic and start posting that it doesn't work
Istallation Instructions for the Theme
-------------------------------------
1. Download theme
2. Move to SD
3. Boot to recovery
4. Flash ROM from file in recovery
If you don't want the font:
-----------------------------
1. Download theme
2. Edit the zip by opening it and deleting folder called fonts
3. Flash it in recovery
(No fix for ROM as of yet as deleting the font folder would result in catastrophy so don't! Only works for the Theme)
But for now here's the latest build:

realy like your work
I can port any theme to a rom as well , but nice release. Omg danne last ever rom? haha
Nice job buddy, finally a different rom to play with. Well done!
Just like it says...works well but graphics are very bad.
JoeyDelp, congratulations! You started very very well! But... I don't know... maybe you'd better work on your project to do just theme and not a new rom. Then, maybe, you can make a lock for wildpuzzle, CM6, openfire and others. How about that?
ps.: any way that I want to put you down with it, I just imagine you working in theme more people use them to liven up, than change rom.

Will definitely give it a try, i only just made this thing over night. Its basically just a beta.
I would love a chance to work on the lockscreens for wildpuzzle or cm6. I have an idea to try and transfer the espresso see through background lockscreen with this style ui to this device.
But unfortunatley its gonna have to wait till monday. I have a massive LAN torunament going on over the weekend. Will be back to work on it on monday

[MOD] Cleaner Statusbar , No Music, No Toggle

Hi,
After several nights grinding on APK Manager finally it decided to compile for me !
I made a change to the framework-res.apk for people who are on stock rom
I removed the Music Player, but i also hate the toggles so i removed them aswell
( Credits for @djmcnz for his hidden music topic )
These framework-res.apk files are also compatible with UOT Kitchen unlike the already modded versions from custom roms
Note: I have lcddensity set to 190, so my buttons look weird
You know the drill, get your Optimus2X rooted, flash CWM and recover one of these files!

back to rooted stock 2.2.2. ... because of you
instaled mod ... works just fine.

please
With these mods you can use UOT Kitchen for your own themes
Just unzip the framework-res.apk and go to the famous kitchen
Sent from my LG-P990
Hey man, uhmm.. any guide for the UOT kitchen for a noob?
Edit: I tried going to http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ And it's insanely easy! (I hope this doesn't brick my phone though. )
I guess my question instead is...
Were you able to check if all of the theme parts are compatible with our stock v10 ROM? (From battery to lockscreen to fonts?)
I can't seem to get the custom smileys and custom notification background working. Is it the same for you guys?
The smilies worked for me, the custom background also worked but you can't pick transparent background..
Transparency is only for gingerbread roms

Hmm... will try a different smiley set then. Perhaps the big blue things that I chose were too big. I'm also playing around with the background, never say die.

[GUIDE][THEME]Do-It-Yourself Guide to making widgetlocker themes for LDPI :D

HI, Want to make a widgetlocker theme for your LPDI device? or are you just bored of that plain and simple stock themes from widgetlocker?
Then i have a guide for you!
BUT, . . .
First things First
PREREQUISITES:
1. Widgetlocker app
2. Adobe Photoshop (any version) or any image editing software you wish
3. Winrar or any compression software you wish
4. Stock images you want to use for this
5. Patience and the heart to test

So then, let's start
First make a folder example "mytheme.wltheme" it has to have a wltheme ending in it
Then open the first stock image file with photoshop this will be our background
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Next, Resize the first picture to 188x152
As you can see i made mine transparent
Save it as iphone_background_3.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now open the second stock image you want to use as the slider
So now let's make the slider (Hooray), design it like the way you want after that resize to 112x120
Then save it as iphone_slider_left.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now do the same procedure for the right slider and size it to 112x120
Then save it as iphone_slider_right.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Lastly make a preview of the theme and resize it to 90x90
Then save it as iphone_preview.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now, lets compile the theme elements that we just made by making a zip
go back to the folder that you have created as "mytheme.wltheme"
and right click to bring down options, next select "add to archive"
This should popup afterwards, change the radio button from rar to zip
Next copy the file, connect USB storage to PC then navigate to your SD-Card
"\data\com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker\themes", paste it there
Now that your theme is installed just click refresh themes
and apply the theme you made
And here is your finished product:
KUDOS !!!! Its in the attatchment if you want
TIP: You can also convert several widgetlocker themes that was made for HDPI, MDPI and port it to LDPI

I only find tuts how to change the visual settings of an existing locker.

hello i have been looking around and it seems no one has been having the problems i currently have been experiencing and i wonder if anyone knows how to fix this?
i've currently been just editing the arrow slider style sliders for widget locker and been saving the background with the regular .png format not interlaced as well as trying it interlaced with no luck as when i zip them up and try to install on my phone they go in like they should, but when i try to use the slider the background doesn't appear when the file clearly was made i'm wondering is there something i'm doing wrong?
oh and my device is the droid 4 and most other sliders i haven't edited work fine

hmm,
what format did you save the whole zip into?
and did you use photoshop?
same prob with the background element.
Sry didn't find anything else to ask my probs... seemly old topic.
Anyways... I have same problem as the guy above mentioned. The background element just don't appear. I even tried to use another theme as a base for new one. I only edited the background pic and saved it as it was. Same problem appears again, no background element visible. What do I do wrong?
I will be waiting for a more in depth tutorial regarding this. Thanks.

It needs a 1x1 pixel at the top of the image as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825553
I had the same problem. I d/l'd the Tron Slider and copy/pasted the image I wanted in photoshop. The problem was that I was deleting the old layer, thus getting rid of the pixel at the top as well. Once I just deleted the image and left the pixel at the top, it worked fine.
