[Question] Galaxy S and HTC Sense Live Wallpapers

I just dug through the forum and found the 5 apks that hold these LWPs. I want them. I adb pushed the Sense one and the Aurora one from Galaxy S. I didn't expect either to work, as I believe both came from the higher-screen-res Nexus One forum. Both force closed on me before the previews loaded. Is there anything that can be done to make them work?
You would probably have to go into the apk and change the res on each of them.
Well in the HTC Sense one, there's the nromal res folder with a drawable-hdpi folder (which I renamed to drawable-mdpi) but the images used aren't there, that's just a thumbnail and the icon for the LWP menu. the actual wallpaper is stored in Mode10Wallpapers.apk>assets/scenes/Bokeh.m10
So what is an m10 file? I tried to unzip it with no success.
Digging through the Galaxy S LWPs, I found a similar issue, except instead of an m10 file, there were some xmls, some files I didn't recognize, and an images folder with all the images the LWP uses.
EDIT: Got bored and tried to adb push all of the .so files from the /system/lib/ folder of the HTC Sense wallpaper zip. I saw no negative side effects in my brief test (some files in /system/lib/egl/ were overwritten), but the wallpaper still crashed. Tonight, I will test the same method on King's Legend build to see if it works with Sense.
If your on CM5.. Stock Live Wallpapers Do Not Work.

[Q] Taskbar??

How do I change taskbar icons in Android??
Thank
p.s looks Attach Files
Not possible. You have to change a system file for this. Because the HD Desire hasn't full root (yet?), system files can't be replaced. Everytime the the device is restarted and the system files actually loaded, all files are changed back to stock.
Anyway, the theme guru in this forum is still looking for a way to do this with the HTC themes (although it doesn't look promissing)
EDIT: btw you can edit the icons in the left top side (not where the clock is). You'll need APK Manager for this (search for it on the forums) and edit the resource files of the apps that use them.

[REQ] Captivate Stock AT&T Theme

I would like to flash a new ROM but i like the stock captivate theme the best.
is there any update.zip packages of the default theme floating around? i want to wait until i know i can do it before i flash. Also, is there any way to "rip" the theme from my ROM? because then i can just do that
I posted a request for this a few weeks back and got really no help.... What I did was unzip the framework.apk's from the theme I wanted and from the JH7_OTA that's floating around here somewhere and compared the images in the drawbale-hdpi folder. I think there are some files in tw-framework.apk that need to be changed if you want to change the pull down menu.
Hope this helps
The themes are mostly inside framework-res.apk, which is very ROM-specific. You can't just install them randomly inside one another.
If you'd like to port a theme, you can either replace the image files using 7-zip, WinRAR, etc. or decompile the .apk using APK Manager for more extensive changes (things like battery mods, etc.).

what he said ^^^^
but as a beginner's guide, you will need to pull your FRAMEWORK-RES.APK and TWFRAMEWORK-RES.APK from /system/framework folder
For this, you will need to use either ADB or an app like ASTRO or ROOTEXPLORER
when you copy these two apk's to your computer, you will need to open it up (NOT extract it) and simply replace the images inside with those from a stock FRAMEWORK-RES.APK & TWFRAMEWORK-RES.APK
The images you want to change are going to be in res/drawable-hdpi folder
Don't just replace everything, you will need to see which one's are different.. if there is something you want to change and don't know what .png file it is, just post it back up here and I will help you out

Modifying buttons launcher - wont use modified png's - please help

Hi there,
I was enjoying my DesireHD with Revolution HD and MultiCultiMod. But I would very much like it if i could modify the launcher buttons(see screenshot). I believe this is inside rosie.apk.
This is what i tried:
- Modified png's in Rosie.apk, put Rosie.apk back in Rom. Flash Rom.
->> Launcher still uses default grey buttons.
- Pushed modified Rosie.apk to phone.
>> Launcher wont load anymore.
- Found and modified same looking png's in com.htc.resources.apk, pushed to phone.(no errors)
>> Nothing happens, still same old buttons.
- put com.htc.resources.apk back in Rom and flash Rom.
>> same buttons.
I read that I won't have to re-sign system packages like Rosie and framework, am I right?
what am i doing wrong, and where does android gets its grey button png's if I replaced them all? (ps: I'm not modifying 9.png)
If someone could be of service or help me try update.zip em, I would be very thankfull!
See attachements for my buttons.
THanks! XdA RuLeS!
try edit them in com.htc.resources.apk in framework instead
i have done this many times and it's working..
I do not modify tha Rosie.apk with apk tool..
I just drag out of the apk the files i want to modify and then replace them inside the apk(open it with 7zip)
That's all...

Thanks!
I re-tried in com.htc.resources.apk and used the folder drawable-port-hdpi, pushed it back to phone and now it's working!!!
Thanks for the help!!
Just saw this now... looks pretty solid.
Got it to work via ADB but seemed to look too busy. Thanks anyway

[Q] HTC lockscreen can't work after deodex rom using kitchen(version 0.224),Why?

I got the stock ROM for the HTC Butterfly S, after I use the android kitchen(version 0.224) to deodex all the files under system/framework and system/app folders, It works properly. But when I flash the rom to the device, the system runs normally for the first start up. When I lock the screen, then the system will restart and will never start up to the lockscreen. So I analysised the log for the system start up. I found that it's a xml file in the framework-res.apk can't be read properly. But after I decompile the framework-res.apk, I found that the resouce is all right. I think this may be some verification error. because I met the same error when I deodex the HTC Butterfly X920e ROM.
So is there anyone can help? Some notes for deodex HTC Sense5 ROM using android kitchen also will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
