Honeycomb theme for VEGAn Ginger. - G Tablet Themes and Apps

anyone running VEGAn Ginger RC1 notice we have the CM Themechooser. Well i decided to try Honeybread theme made by haxzamatic. It works awesome.
Here is a link to original theme:

I am using launcherpro plus, and thumbkey keyboard.

Update 4/13: I went into the Vegan Ginger rom and replaced the SystemUI.apk with the same app from the nook color forums link posted by pdlboy, resigned it and flashed it via CWM.

Downloaded. Pretty awesome, just wish there was a way to theme the soft buttons in the notification bar.

I noticed over in the Nook forums that a honeycomb mod to the soft buttons has been made. I have not tried it myself and don't know if it will work with gTablet ROMs, but it's there if someone brave is willing to try.

You can change these by editing the images in the SystemUI.apk located in /system/app
This is assuming you know how to edit images in an apk. If not you can see about how here in my video (ubuntu): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5T7ZwVU-wo

incredible. i have been using it two days in a row and people already ask me if i have honeycomb. This plus vegan ginger is awesome.
BTW: can someone tell me what are the apps that are in the third screenshot? The ones from twitter and facebook. I tried to expand the facebook widget to get it like that and realized that it is not the same widget.

They are Widgets you unlock by purchasing the plus version of launcherpro. It gives you fbook, twitter, gmail, contacts, calender, bookmarks.

Could please explain how you achieved that, or post instructions (that would be great!)? Did you just unzip, copied the systemui.apk from the nook color forums, and paste it in the unzipped vegan-ginger rom folder, re-zip and re-sign, and finally flash from cwm recovery?
Thanks!

tutorial please

Instructions for soft buttons
What I did was unzip both the icon .zip and the vegan tab .zip in root explorer. Then took the systemui.apk from the icon zip and copied that to the vegan systemui.apk, overwriting the original. Re-zipped the vegan rom and installed in cwm. Hope that helps.

I tried the same using ES File Explorer, but didnt work. Do I have to use root explorer? Any other method?
Thanks!

Pushed the SystemUI.apk file from adb and got it to work.

Tried this out for a few minutes and liked it. However I went back to stock VEGAn because I really like the battery and network icons.
If I was a little bit more savy with themes I would probably combine the two...

I feel dumb but, where is the CM Themechooser in Vega g rc1?

very nice work... a little more progress and I'll definitely try this. I bet it would work fine with the other GB roms too.

I see you were able to include more than a single widget or shortcut on a page. Each time I attempt to add more than one, I'm told there's no more room on this home screen. Any hints you may have are appreciated.

UPDATED - Cognition 2.2 Beta 9 (+v2.3b4) monochrome status bar and battery mod

EDIT: Because the framework-res.apk is different on the latest Cognition v2.3b1+ (naturally since it's a different Captivate Froyo version), I created a new framework-res.apk for those. It's attached here. I will probably only keep the oldest and newest that I have available here. The first is for Cog 2.2B9 and the second is for Cog2.3B4.
Thanks so much for this...exactly what I have been looking for and looks great!

Essentially yes. Because I'm not too familiar with ADB, I used Root Explorer. This is the exact process I used.
I first ransferred meter-framework-res.apk to my SDCard on the phone. Then opened Root Explorer on the phone and navigated to sdcard. I copied meter-framework-res.apk to /system/framework folder. I then renamed the original framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.old. Then renamed meter-framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk. Then finally rebooted.

[Q] Armani Font APK?

I have no clue how to pull things out of the source, or out of Cognition 3.02 for what I want. I'm looking for an APK for the Armani font. Anyone able to produce that or point me in the direction of where to download it? Thanks in advance!

This is an APK I've had in my apps folder for quite sometime now. I don't remember where I got it or even if I made it my self, but it works like a charm. It appears as a new font in your font selection window so you can still use the default one if you don't like the Armani one. I like APKs way more than recovery .zips because you don't have to restart your phone to use them

Very Sorry! I have pushed them as far right as possible let me know if that works better. Sorry for the Ads just trying to pay for the hosting for the kitchen.
Works now when viewing the full site, still not the mobile but that isn't a big deal. I understand the need for the ads though! What better way to get clicks than to cover up the submit button
now though it is giving me an error "content error - the requested file is too large for conversion in the gateway/proxy". Sorry for causing all this trouble! Is there anything i can do to help?

[MOD] WP7 style keyboard for Android

FROYO ONLY
FROYO ONLY
FROYO ONLY
Hi folks,
With the recent port of WP7 to HD2 (credit to Cotulla, DFT, and other cooks), I know alot of HD2 users have tried it. I myself used it for about a couple of weeks, but I found that although it is great, it still was missing a couple of key features compared to android.
When I switched back, one of the thing that made me really regret was the keyboard.
After searching on XDA, I found this thread and figured it would easily work for us NAND users running Android.
It is a metamorph theme, but when I applied it, it didn't look right. The user who created the theme JAguirre1231 suggested that it didn't work correctly because the theme is suppose to be for the stock keyboard. This was a problem because I know alot of people prefer other CM, Sense or MIUI roms.
After doing some experimenting, I finally got it to work on the MIUI rom I'm using. The only thing is that this themed keyboard replaces the default and makes it the default. I'm not sure if you can add it, and keep the Sense keyboard or not.
*I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE, DOING THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK* *ALSO REQUIRES ROOT*
NOTE: DON'T TRY TO INSTALL THE .APK DIRECTLY, IT HAS TO GO INTO THE SYSTEM OF YOUR PHONE
EDIT: FROYO ONLY(?)
Like I said, I have only tried this on the MIUI rom and I would advise you do backup or take precautions because this process involves editing the system files inside your phone.
Directions
----------------------------------------------------------------
1) You need Root Explorer (available in the marketplace) and the attached file

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) After you have Root Explorer, put the attached "LATINIME.apk" file on your sd card
3) Boot up your phone and open Root Explorer
4) Make sure the file is on your SD card
5) Next, navigate to /system/app/ and you should find a "LATINIME.apk" file in there too
6) Be sure you hit the top button so it says (MOUNT R/O)
7) Just to be safe, rename it to something else, and copy and paste it into your sd card (if anything goes wrong, just replace it with this file back to /system/app)
8) Delete the "LATINIME.apk" in /system/app and next copy and paste the attached one into /system/app
9) Exit and your new keyboard should be like the ones shown below
10) DONE!
Note that this is merely a skin for the keyboard, and all the other android settings are still the same. I also found it isn't as accurate as the real thing, but still better than the stock froyo.
This tutorial was made with the permission of JAguirre1231 and I just thought it would be easier if I share it.
Now I have no android keyboard. Crap.

Make sure in the future that u backup all of the system apps before replacing them...
it look just like the gingerbread keyboard lol
I would say: don't do this. Even when I copied back the original file I did not get my keyboard back, so I had to reinstall my rom.
Same here. Luckily I had smart keyboard pro so I'm just using that .

Can you tell me which rom you are using?
And did you put the LATINIME.API into /system/app? If you don't have root explorer you can try ADB? Or if your rom already has the default froyo keyboard, just use metamorph skin from post #1.

Hm, I'm not sure if this works on gingerbread. I think it only works on the standard froyo keyboard.
If you want to take another stab, trying using the stock .apk from here, and if it works, just use metamorph to theme the keyboard.
Then again its up to you.
tried adb to phone but keep getting force close issue.

I'm not sure, you can look into seeing if you can make the .pngs in the skin work for your rom. It should be in systemui.apk and framework-res. Remember to always backup!
For now, I'm using WP7
