Market apps not synced - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Hello ... I have a milestone and keep trying new roms frequently.... but the apps that i download from market are not synced automatically and i need to download them one by one all over again.... when i check my market account on pc , the list of installed apps is not the same as that on my phone ..... is there any ways get the market apps synced completely......

I've had the same issue but weirdly Froyo-based roms did not have the problem. Only the GB roms had the issue.
I'm not sure but it could dependent on how GB roms communicate with the market account.

The phone forgets which apps you have downloaded from the market and doesn't update them anymore.
The best fix is to install/update the app from the market again (one by one!).
Some apps can help you: atrackdog (finds what has to be updated), titanium backup (has a market fix function, not available in the free version).

Paid Apps and ROM update..... everything lost???

Hi everyone,
just wondering as I did my first order (BlueEx) for my Dream machine.
What happens if I format my device (install another cooked rom)? do I lost my application? do I download it again for free as I have the same gmail account? is there any way of grabing my apk install file?
thanks for your help, sure it's just 1.4€ for the moment, but if I went for documents2go or any other more expensive app (wisepilot....), I would not format my device anymore!
paid apps can be downloaded from the market again at no cost, but yes you will have to reinstall everything.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get your paid apps. moved from original gmail account to another gmail account. (Going to delete original account) Thanks.
You can pull the app off of your device using adb pull. I believe some backup apps can also backup apk files onto sdcard. One thing to note is that if you reinstall your own backup from a file rather than the market, you will not be able to get updates from the market. Only apps installed using the market app will show up on the Downloaded list (and thus be updatable without a repurchase).
Also, if the app in question is a protected app (not all paid apps are) then you will need root to pull it out of app-protected.
I wonder if there isn't some way to transfer your Market app licenses from one gmail account to another. You might have to contact Android Market support about it.

I figured it out, first you wipe in Recovery then Reboot, log into original Gmail account (The one with your purchased Apps.) go into Market and redownload your purchased Apps., now get out of Market and go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications, scroll down till you get to Google Apps, click on that and press Clear data now Reboot and go back to Market and it'll ask you to log in again, log in with new Gmail account and all your stuff will sync, Contacts ect... and after a few minutes your purchased Apps. will show up in My downloads.

Thank you for the Tutorial - it worked for me until I wanted to install a Update of a purchased App:
they are all shown in My downloads & Market tells me that there is a Update available. When I click update it shows me the Buy button & the Price of the app?!
What can I do now? Any ideas?

Android Market Updates on Sideloaded Apps???

Hello everyone.
Is it possible to get Market updates on apps that are sideloaded?
Let me start by saying Yes, I Google (and forum) searched for a solution...probably for the better part of 2 hours and I couldn't find an answer.
I recently went from cupcake to CM 4.0.4 (great ROM). But before that, I used ASTRO to back up almost all of my apps to my SD. After flashing, I used ASTRO to restore my apps, but now none of them show in My Downloads in the Market. Also, when I search for an app that's installed on my phone, the Market doesn't recoginze that I have it installed.
Is there anything I can do, or do I have to download them again?
search for "atrackdog" in the market

Market will not care at all about sideloaded apps. It will only update the apps that it has recorded in its local database. Wiping deletes that database. It would definitely be nice if the Market had some kind of bulk reinstall, but you have to keep in mind that the AOSP team never intended for users to wipe their data/cache very often.

i guess learn how the market database works and then add all the entries back into database after reinstall?
aTrackdog is your best bet. I use it all the time and always tells me wehn there are updates for apps on my ext3 partition.

aTrackdog works well for finding the updates & once I install the update, it appears to register to the built-in notification system, but my purchased apps still aren't working.
I'll see what I can figure out about the Market database files & share whatever I find.
Thanks
I'm pathetic because I just goto the market using my wifi connection and search for all my apps and update them manually and then later I get notices. Sure it takes some time and its work, but I don't flash my roms a lot like I used to.

Donut market not aware of installed apps

After flashing donut I restored installed apps using Astro but only apps installed through market are now recognised by the market as installed and downloaded so I miss upgrades. Is there a way to make the market aware of already installed apps?
Thanks

thats the standard behaviour. Use aTrackDog if you want that functionality.
I'm sure it worked with cyanogen mods... but I will try with aTrackDog.
thanks
The Market is only aware of applications installed through the Market Application. That's just how is works, and how it has always worked. In order to track your updates through the Market, you will need to reinstall your apps using the Market, not Astro. Sorry.
aTrackDog is a great tool, and it can track any/all apps even those installed manually (or from Astro, or other tools) as well as those installed through the Market.

Are you asking because you have installed non-paid for but should have been paid for apps, and are trying to get the updates? That won't work. Good try though.
Why not just re-download them from the market instead of using Astro? That way you will see all of the updates.
Why would you even have market apps on your sd card?
Exactly which apps aren't showing in the market?
I should be starring in "C.S.I - XDA"

Updating installed apps via Market

is there a way to update applications installed via the market place ?
I have a couple of apps that i installed manualy ( outside of the market ) but they dont show up in the market so i was just wondering if there was a way that the market can see those apps and update them with new updates....
If you get the donate version of Titanium Backup then maybe the Market Doctor feature would work.
Otherwise go into Settings->Manage Apps and un-install the app then go into market and install it from there.

[Q] Andoird Market Updates

hi guys,
my apologies in advance if the below seems like a drag. but, my issue is as follows.
bout two days ago, i flashed my stock 2.2 Galaxy S with a custom ROM from here/rom kitchen. before doing a wipe and flashing the new ROM, i backed up all the apps (apk files) i had installed using Astro file manager.
once i flashed with the new custom ROM, i re-installed all the apps (apk files) using the file browser.
now, the issue is, when i go into the "my apps" tab of the market app, it doesnt list any of my apps as they were not installed thru the market, which means that i won't be receiving updates for the apps i've got installed.
is there any way i can get my apps to appear in the market app or to get updates through the market app?
any help on this would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance,
cheers
actually, this is no longer valid!!
funny thing is, i checke the market app bout a couple of hours ago and it didnt show any of the installed apps....
then, i checked again just a few minutes after submitting this and vola!! the market has synched with my gmail account and now it nicely displays the apps i have installed.... talk about timing!!!
