[Q] Live Wallpaper Question - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using Gingerbread XWJVA rooted and I tried to import the Live Wallpaper called Beach from Froyo 2.2, and I put the .apk in the system/app directory but it doesn't run.
Is it possible to import this Live Wallpaper ?
Thanks a lot.

Cant you just install the APK with a filemanager ?

If I click in the apk, I can install it, but when I´m going to choose the Live Wallpaper, I get a FC all the time.

I assume you were referring to this live wallpaper?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.accesslane.livewallpaper.beach
I just installed it from market and was able to load it without problem. I am using deodexed JVB. Have you tried installing it from market?

Thanks for the help, but the Live Wallpaper that I want to install is another one.

did u change the permissions?

Yes I did.
It installs just fine, but I get a FC when I try to change the Live Wallpaper.

I am in the same situation. I have Gingerbread JVH on my Samsung Galaxy i9000 and after i installed Beach Live Wallpaper when i opened it I received a FC screen. I love that wallpaper. Please advice.

same boat!
Has anybody managed to get this working?

Beach Live wallpaper
It will take asking a dev.

@ 2.1 autmatically comes with the file to run live wallpaper, if you are using 2.0.1 you are going to need LiveWallpapersPicker.apk and put it in you apps folder.

[Q] How to use Live Wallpaper on HTC Wildfire with WildPuzzle Froyo 2.2 rom

I have installed the wildpuzzle froyo 2.2 rom onto my HTC wildfire but I still cant use live wallpaper. But when i go to menu -- wallpaper -- Home -- Live Wallpaper, it shows the option Live wallpapers, but when i click on a live paper, it does not change it, why?
You must delete HTC Sense and use other Luncher (ADW.Launcher / LauncherPRO etc.). Delete are simple, use htc_app_remove.zip update file
Where do i get the launcher and how to use it?
and where to download the remove thing and how to use it?
Both can be found in the android market. For the launcher, there are Launcherpro and ADW among others. You install them and then at your home screen press your home screen button and you should be able to select the launcher you have installed. To delete apps and other things, search for Astro File Manager. It's the best free file manager. After the installation of Astro (or your chosen file manager), find a folder called "system." Then another folder called "apps." Finally, you can delete whatever files that you wish.

You have to install the Live Wallpaper launcher. There are apks floating around for it all over XDA. Just search for it. Then you can go to town.

Live Wallpapers are not officially supported. Hence, there is no such option on the official update. ROM Dev's additionally add support for LWP's.
Well, since you are now on the "unrootable" 2.2.1 update, you are out of luck for now unfortunately.

no live wallpapers cm7?

Is there a way to get the live wall paper picker APK to work on cm7?
Ok I installed live wallpaper picker. APK with root explorer and rebooted, no luck. Also tried nexus s live wallpaper APK.
My live wallpapers were working, and then the picker disappeared.
It was either v3 or the new kernel that killed it.
live wallpaper picker works for me.
Can you post up your apk
this is the one i used with root explorer, when i get home im going to try to push it with adb
let me know if it works for you
I tried that one in root explorer earlier. Force closes on start
how to install the picker?

try the framework-res.apk in system\framework
NOT sure it gets unpacked anywhere
The default wallpaper for themes, are stored in the framework-res.apk as silashack mentioned. You can open this file with 7z or something similar and the wallpaper is located in res/drawable/default_wallpaper and res/drawable-hdpi/default_wallpaper or res/drawable-hdpi-v4/default_wallpaper

Does anyone have the 2 blue wallpaper images that come with launcher pro? I can't find them anywhere and only managed to get it while on the lite bluesky theme. I don't want to add them theme again as I'm running darkys rom and it is super quick. If anyone could post the files I would be most grateful!
System/Wallpaper on some .

Official CM7 Wallpapers

Hello forum!
I need help about CM7 Official build, because it does not have any live wallpapers. Not just live wallpaper picker I'm searching for stock android live wallpaper. Sorry if the thread already was open but I didn't find any working stock LWP. Found some zip file and live wallpaper picker is working but the stock live wallpapers crash.
me too face the same problem. I am using the CM& official nightly... its very fast and smooth but live wallpapers not there.. I found some zip which has to be flashed like rom. Did that and i can see live wallpaper picker but when i select the live wallpaper it force closes..
Any suggestions please!!!
maybe you can try to pick livewallpaperpicker.apk from another custom rom that based on CM too and push it manually to your system then reboot
Livewallpaperpicker.apk always force closes!
