Best YouTube app out there. Period! Honestly, I've tried them all, but Lazytube offers all the features I expect from a decent YouTube app and offers the most comfortable and easy to use UI. Thumbs up.

Looks almost identical to the free htc youtube app... What does lazytube bring for my money?

Good question.
Features LazyTube has that HTC does not:
- Streaming 720p HD videos
- Customizable navigation
- Customizable video feeds (lazylist)
- Tile icon that adapts to phones theme
- Powerful search filters
I think for the most part though, it's not really the features nor the 'functionality' of the app that truly distinguishes LazyTube from other apps but more the usability and overall experience associated with it.
The best thing I can recommend is for you to try it yourself (as suggested above) and see what you think.
If you do give it a go, please keep us posted how you get on as we'd love to hear your comments and feedback!
As many have found out, lots of suggestions quickly make it into our updates

About the chameleon tile: I prefered the LazyTube tile with the youtube colors rather than the theme color. Too many developers do that, it get boring having a whole main page made of the same color.
As for features, I just love the app.
Keep it up

We've had a lot of positive feedback from the introduction of the chameleon tile and I don't think we can open up an option to select the tile icon
Really glad you like the features!
Keep the suggestions coming guys.

why 720p? can we have 480p instead? the phone only has 800x480 resolution.... hope for an even smoother playback on HD with lower bandwith requirment. (I love this app!)

Best YouTube app available for WP7! Love this app, only one I even kept on my phone. Once I discovered this one, I deleted my Microsoft & HTC YouTube apps. Thanks for this!

Will look into it, seems like sound logic to me !

The addition of HD finally got me to switch from the Free version to LazyTube and pay for it...
I now have SuperTube and LazyTube working together, one for saving videos, the other for watching it, and enjoying the amazing UI...

Yep, that's what I like... Good work...
Any way to save searches? Say, the last 6 searches for lazy ppl like me?

Searches
Will the searches on lazytube ever include vevo videos? If i search for them in lazytube, nothing comes up. Also some of the videos in my favorites that are vevo are not in my favorites on lazytube.

Unfortunately this is to do with YouTube mobile video restrictions If the restrictions are loosened we will most definitely support it!

How is supertube able to include the vevo videos?

Pretty much the same way they're able to offer to download videos. There are certain ways to accomplish these things. But google does not allow that. So it's clearly against their rules. Supertube's developers just don't seem to care, which - besides the fact that lazytube offers an in my opinion way better UI - is one reason I would never support or buy their app.

It's not a technical issue but more a legal one
I can't comment with regards to other apps providing this service however to our understanding it's not something that we want to risk our reputation over.

Hi,
If i go on youtube.com with my Omnia 7, when i want to watch a video, it opens the crappy youtube app. Isn't it possible to automatically open the video with your great Lazyworm app ?
thanks.

Has the streaming quality been set to "Low Quality" in settings by any chance?

Nope it is on HQ.
Do you mean that Lazytube usually take over the youtube app ?

*sigh*Its me again...looking for more apps.

My friend downloaded a program for his G1 called Tunewiki. I was wondering if there was a similar program for our windows mobile devices.
What is it? Is it like Music ID that comes installed from ATT?
No. Its a music player that automatically searches for and displays lyrics. It also gives options to see music videos for the song you are playing on youtube plus other neat features.
Update: Found a nice music player that downloads lyrics called MiniLyrics, but nothing as in depth an tunewiki. Maybe one day the devs behind tunewiki may port it to WM...only time will tell.

Im pretty sure there must be something like this among those 20-30 thousand apps for WM.
I remember using some player that displayed lyrics (if attached) while playing mp3, and it had option to find lyrics on some website. I can't tell you details because it was so many years ago when I was using VOQ smartphone, but what I mean is: keep searching

Good point, tunewiki is no longer available for new users. They complain that there are too many users for what they can support. I'm looking at the minilyrics now.
Well, I sent an email to the guys over at TuneWiki, and according to them, they have ports for WM and Blackberry in the works. Its pre-alpha though so it might be awhile. Oh well, at least they are planning to bring this wonderful app to WM!

New HD7 User From Android

I just picked up this phone and my thoughts are mediocre so far. But I have one issue that I cannot seem to fix. On my android, I would have the option on either Youtube.com, or the Youtube app, to choose to watch the video in HD. I dont see that option for my phone now, am i missing something? It sucks to have a 4.3" screen but with jumbled video.
Thanks.
The stock youtube app isn't that great. There is another one you can grab in the marketplace that is better.
As for watching it in a browser, it was likely omitted to avoid having to keep up with flash updates.

Did you download the YouTube app from HTC Hub? It can play HQ video.

[App] XBMC Remote Control for Windows Phone 7

Hello all,
I have recently created a new XBMC Remote App because well I like programming
It's cheaper than the ones available and works with XBMC 10.0+. I have created some extra featurs that I thought would be useful which weren't present in the other apps.
Pictures:
The app has full support for pictures, you can download them from XBMC right to your phone, watch a slideshow on your phone and have extensive controls when playing them on the Media Center, like zooming and scrolling ....
Library updates: With one click of the button you can update your music / video library
Subtitles: A button is available to open the subtitles window and select the subtitle you'd like (very handy for us non-native english speakers)
Furthermore, all the basics are available: browsing libraries, remote control, ...
Please let me know iwhat you think of it and if you have any good ideas about new features, requests. I'd be glad to work out something.
Here's the deep link to the application in Zune: windowsphone.com/s?appid=9a2f8f94-5dae-e011-a53c-78e7d1fa76f8
Looks good, lots of nice features, would really like to trial it first though, it's quite important for apps like this.
Can you view the most recent movies, tv episodes? Can you pull up info on the currently playing media?
Thanks for the hard work!
Hello,
I have just submitted an update with trial mode enabled. It should be available in a few days. There's a now playing feature and in the next release I have some extensions planned on that.
Currently there are no recent items collections, but I'll add it to the feature requests and I think I'll be able to add it to the next version as well.
If you can, please check out the trial version and let me know what you think.
(The trial version has complete functionality but it only shows you a few items)
Many thanks in advance.
Does this app have the gesture-mode for the arrow-keys?
Used the android-one before, never got used to the normal key-mode.. you always have to look at your phone...
because of that i still use my android-device for remoting my XBMC Notebook...
Hello,
Gesture mode is not included in this version. I'll take a look whether I can fit it in the next release though.
In a few days an update should appear with a trial-mode so you can try out the remote. I have focussed a lot on the usability of the remote and made large buttons which have audio and/or haptic feedback so you still might like it.
Sorry, we don't allow paid apps here.

What do you use yout tablet for?

Was interested in seeing what everyone does with their tablets as i feel im not using my to full potential.
I mainly use mine for searching net, reading websites, watching Youtube, check emails and twitter reading a paper or mag and maybe the odd game.
Thats about it for the most part.
what else can it be used for?
i use mine for:
- taking notes (asus super note)
- capturing my ideas (adobe collage)
- reading books (ezpdf reader, polaris office)
- learning french (about 13 different dictionaries and conjugation apps)
- searching and surfing the web (firefox, opera mini)
- checking forums (xda premium hd, tapatalk hd)
- reading Quran (Quran android)
- messaging
- email
- maps (i travel a lot these days)
- camera (don't judge me )
- watching movies and tv shows (mx video player)
- music (play music)
- games (cut the rope, angry birds, fruit ninja thd)
and just for the sake of using it to full potential i sometimes hit my sister with it or use it as a japanese hard pillow.
Is Asus Supernote the same as The Supernote that's already on the Tablet?
If not can you link me to it please.
Thanks
Pretty much everything! Moved from iPad to this and because of the extra openness I rarely use my Mac or PC when I'm not working now... Some things I use it for:
Portfolio - Displays my graphic design work
Perfect photo viewer
Kindle (Best e-Reader, you can give it it's own brightness etc.)
Social hub (Seriously, Samsung Social Hub is one of the best social network aggregators I've seen, works especially well in portrait)
Skype (Seriously try this, the future is here guys, Star Trek ain't got nothing on Android!!)
Magazines (Zinio lets you subscribe to magazines, save the paper etc.)
It has replaced my newspapers (I'm all digital now, I just read the news sites/apps)
Gaming (Makes a great little games console, never going to live up to an Xbox or PlayStation but it certainly gives portable stuff like PSP and DS a run for its money with the big screen and very affordable games!)
Games console emulators
Evernote
"Cracked!" Reader app (very magazine-ish in portrait mode)
Comic books
Radio & podcasts (Great broadband radio apps, good speakers, win!)
Route planning on Google Maps
TV/Movies when away from home (As long as there's wi-fi, Netflix works great, if not, I stock it up with some films)
Development (I am an iOS and Android developer)
Things I DON'T use it for:
Writing on this forum - the browser seems to have a tendency to just stop working if I try to send a relatively long post on this forum and some others, not sure if its my network, the browsers or the device.
Music - My iPhone does the music bit, and 16GB with no SD slot is pushing it a little with music.
Instant messaging - Mobile OS multitasking isn't ready for IM, it really needs to be something you keep present on the screen no matter what you're doing the way you can on a Mac or a Windows computer with a good sized screen. I'd use it for IM if Samsung had made a TouchWiz overlay IM program like they have with their calculator, calendar etc., but switching to and from IM+ just isn't versatile enough.
isnt adobe collage like 15$?
An interesting post as I think the tablet form factor is not being used to its full potential.
For me surfing and reading the two biggest uses as with everyone else.
Other uses for me:
- Home media player with HDTV connector. MK video player plays more formats than Xbox or PS3 and easier to connect than laptop. I use ES explorer to connect and stream to NAS.
- Microsoft Instant Messenger (try Office talk). Great when not in front of work laptop. Can use any IM really and saves you firing up computer.
- Have tried VNC and Teamviewer. Need to setup static IP but useful if in other room. Contemplating whether to leave work laptop on all day and just vnc.
- Highly recommend installing Overskreen Browser. Useful browser which acts as a separate window on top of what you are doing. Combine this with a web app and you have a second reference window. For example, check address while on Google maps.
- I have Documents to Go so can open all Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint via Dropbox account. Still won't replace working on desktop as not all features are enabled, like pivot tables in excel or transitions in PowerPoint. This is still for reference and look up.
I've tried note taking but quicker to write out notes. For this size, an active digitizer would be the killer app.
Interested in what other people do as well.
Sent from my GT-P7300 using xda premium
- Browsing mainly and reading news via Pulse. And Facebooking and IM'ing a lot.
- Sending links to my PC via 2SendTab when needed (music or videos from Youtube or stuff I need to look at the next morning)
- Remoting into my PC via PhoneMyPC (the best remote app out there) and doing pretty much everything from my bed. LOL.
When I'm not programming at home, I'm pretty much on the tablet all the time and my PC turns into my home cinema and that's it. I would gladly stop using it alltogether as long as Photoshop and other productivity tools were available on Android (which I hope soon).
i don't think you're supposed to have a supernote *already* on the tablet unless you have a transformer prime.
check this post, it's really useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204931
and no. adobe touch apps are all less than 10 bucks.
i don't mind other apps. just adobe collage gave me the feeling that i would enjoy using it.
also adobe photoshop touch was good. but it's nothing compared to the pc version and i wouldn't use my tab for photo editing.
I keep noticing people referring to Tapatalk HD on this forum, but I can never find an HD version, just a nasty stretched out mobile app. I used to use the HD version on iPad so I'd love to have it on my tab... Where are you guys getting it??

using it as a car front end looks really awesome if you have 3g/4g
-General web/social uses
-Making small changes to websites I manage (Droid Edit Pro)
-Reading (kindle or ez pdf reader)
-Gaming (Android games and n64oid)
-Blogging (write in google docs then post from pc...blogger's app is terrible and the website is bad on mobile devices)
-Music (Google Music)
-GoogleTV remote
-Google+ Hangouts
-Netflix while laying in bed.
I use mine for the following:
- Ordering takeout (especially dominos making your own pie is great)
- Making online purchases like Ebay & Amazon. (Paypal is great)
- Reading (Magazines, XDA, Manga, Pulse)
- Watching videos (streaming media, anime, youtube)
- Location services (maps, train maps & timetables)
- Gaming
There is an increasing number of tablet friendly(customized) apps that make things very easy. I am sure i use it for more but can't think of them all.

I use my tab for a variety of purposes, most of which are mentioned in others' posts. Mainly it's a great tool for consuming the information & entertainment on the Internet. Although some strides are being made in productivity (e.g. Adobe touch apps), tablets still come nowhere close to the capability of a desktop for work.

YouTube full screen?

I've seen several videos of people getting YouTube in full screen on their mix, how is it possible? I still got the black bezel thing on top and bottom, in full view mode? :/

Could you link to one of those videos? As far as I know, this is not possible. You have to either download videos first, and stretch it with a videoplayer, or you can parse the youtube link through one of those download services, then paste it in a player to stream it. Not a seamless experience exactly.
People say you can use certain web browsers (like uc browser, opera etc.) to open web videos in an external player, but I can't find the option in any of them. Maybe they have removed this option in later updates. I remember I could do it long ago. Doubt it will do youtube videos anyway. You get this sense that everyone wants to force you to use their own integrated player alone.
Anyone else who can point to a browser that can open videos externally? Just regular web videos?
Morning, about youtube, I like to ear movies as well but there is the touch issues... with SONY I have a smart app able to lock the screen from un-accidental touch, did we have app alike here?
Cheers,
Work with this modded APK:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-2/themes/fullscreen-youtube-mi-mix-2-t3701979
You can do it without root on every video on Youtube !
Just activate the "Magnification gesture" setting and then triple tap whenever you want to "zoom in" a Youtube video,it will still crop a little part of the video to make it full screen if the ratio is not the same though.
Just install YouTube Vanced Rootless APK and the modded MicroG Google Service APK.
This gives you ad-free YouTube, background playback and full zoom to fit support.

Thanks man! Was using ogyoutube but this one is better.
You're welcome. This, retroarch with 2:1 ratio setting, moonlight with screen stretch setting and Netflix make for a brilliant multi purpose gaming and movie consumption device, as all of them will display content full screen.
