Developers and Site Staff needed! XDA Insider - XDA Developer TV

OK, I'm going to keep this nice and simple. I spend a good 3 - 5 hours each week making a 5 minute show. I easily spend twice that time searching for people to be on it.
Please make my job easier If you, or someone you know, want to be on XDA Insider, PLEASE let me know either here or by PM!
Thanks everyone!

I'd love to. Could be a me/Bob duo thing. I'd also love to see supercurio, dj_steve, and of course cyanogen off the top of my head. I'll look around for people I forgot.

I'm saving Cyanogen until we're a little bigger

Why not persuade one of the admins ? That'd be awesome

Go with the most busy Admin, they must have something to say or the one thats been here for a long time to get there view on how XDA-devs has grown.

Do any of you consider each other buddies?

Well I've come to know some members here and we are all a big community.
So do any of you guys consider each other buddies/friends or just a community of people?

I have no friends. </3
I don't know about friend, but made myself an enemy here for sure (Samsung developers)
Anyways, I'd say xrider is a curious dude and Alanrocks made a nice "black magic woman" song
I dunno.... I feel I get along a lot better with some then I do with others. Some people just appear more open to questions and friendly and they are the ones I tent to feel more of a connection with.

oka1 is someone I would consider a "friend" on here... much, much more so than the "kids" on here who just ask a ton of questions (for no apparent reason) and those who troll.
I "like" all the people on here who GENUINELY seem to be here for the RIGHT reasons.
Not really. This community is just too big to get to know each other. If it was smaller then yeah maybe we would be buddies. With the exception of us metalheads. We will always be brothers, buddies no matter where we are \m/ another thing to add, most prople here are kids(immature). If not kids the're noobs who can't read.

If it wasn't for the "kids" on this forum, then this forum would be straight-out boring.
You guys are boring, the oldies, yes i'm talking about you.
It's like as soon as you became age 25+ you stopped learning to just "chill" and have fun. I'm sure you have fun in real life with people your same age or your kids or something, but without us here, this would be one hell of a lonely forum.
Some people need to accept that teens have smartphones, "OH I WONDER, WHY WOULD A 16 YEAR OLD BOY NEED A SMARTPHONE?!"
We like their functionalities. If you didn't notice from when YOU were a teen, teens are extremely curious. Don't act as if you were never a teen. You acted the same as us, and don't deny it.
SOME may be "over-dramatic"? or more immature, that i understand but immaturity is a part of being a teen, accept it or just gtfo.

Addiction

Damn you XDA. I find myself here several times a day, looking for goodies and news about my favourite phone (LG Revolution) the best freakin phone ever. I have you on my phone now, with a paid app. I just can't get away from you. I may have to take up drinking to pull myself away.
I like this site, because everyone seems knowledgeable. Everyone is nice, when you have an issue, they walk you through it, rather than talk down to you.
Thanks to you all who run this sweet operation. I click "Thanks" every chance I get. Thank you moders, without you our products would just flat out suck. I like the fact, because of groups like ours here, phone makers are more open to letting us open up their devices, and take out what we hate, and put in what we love.
Keep it up.
Here here!
This place is an amazing tool, social community and has become THE NAME in mobile device dev.
I feel you. I just registered this morning and will probably buy the paid app too.
also... i am an xda-addict too..
this site is great... it's all the necesary to life
For all you fresh faced XDA junkies....
Have a look at this thread and see what the future has in store for you...
The best app on my phone is XDA lol whether I'm at work or on the tube or wherever I'll check out the forums on a regular basis, some great people on here especially all the helpful devs.

I concur entirely with every post in the thread. There are constantly two or three different XDA tabs open on my browser, so I can switch between and find even more awesome things to do with my phone.
I look forward to being full on ORD soon!

Why People Are Afraid of The "Thanks" Button.

I honestly have no clue.

with all respect whats the point of this thread. why is so important? Im going to be honest with you i have been in this forum for more than a year (g1,hd2,mt4g,my touch, incredible, droid x and alot more i dont remember) if you see my numbers your are going to laught. but you know what i dont care because i dont know you but im here to learn of the devs if i can help i do or at least i try. But i not going to clicking thanks on every silly post. And honestly theres only a few posts deserve thanks in this bionic forum the rest are are just a waste of time. Like i said im not here for numbers and im not afraid to click the thanks but you are going to see my thanks on the posts i think really deserve.
This is no personal im just making my point and trying to help you with your question.
i prefer too see a member with 25 helpful posts than a member with 300 nonsense posts.

What all do u get from people clicking "Thanks"? Just another number or just to feel appreciated or what? I just received thanking privileges and am rather new to this site.

I use the xda app and don't see a thanks button. But does it make a difference if someone tells you thank you or hits the thanks button? A lot of the people who need help on here is because they haven't taken the time to read through the information and follow instructions. If they can't take time to read and follow instructions, can't really expect them to click a thanks button.
Sent from the Evil Empire
To a point yes to a point no and all you have to do is push the menu button on phone browser and click the thanks button bam done.
Sent from my AXI0M IONIC using XDA App
Unfortunately when I hit menu, it doesn't have a thanks button. I get refresh, reply, subscribe, browser, close.
I still stand by that majority of the help could be avoided in the first place if people would read and follow the exact directions. Most of the.questions on here have been answered many times and still get asked again. I am starting to see why so many developers have left xda.
Sent from the Evil Empire
OK well that makes sense..

To thanks in the XDA app or tapatalk itself just long press on the post in question. You will then get the Thanks options added as a possible choice

Nope, I get quote, reply, send user message, and view users profile.
I say thanks when someone helps me so they know I appreciate it and that's what really matters.

Tap the post you want to thank and it's in that menu. If it's not in there then make sure you've got the latest version. It's been in for a while now so I'd be surprised if it was because you've got an old version, but you never know.
Not positive, but I don't think the free xda app has a thanks button

Thoughts and Prayers to Colorado

I just wanted to take a minute to say my thoughts and prayers go out to anyone in and around Aurora Colorado. I'm not sure if anyone on XDA may have been in the theater or near it, but God bless all that were.

M_T_M closed the last thread saying it would lead to gun control arguments or something, although nothing like that was ever mentioned. He asked nobody create a new thread about it so just a heads up he will probably close this one too. That said, I have been thinking about the families and those affected all day. I have a friend that just moved to CO and first thing I did this morning was call him because I was not sure what part he had moved to exactly.
Edit: Wow at your speed test, that's amazing.
If it needs to be closed all is well.. I just felt like I should do something. The thing I hate most about this life is that stuff like this happens and there's usually nothing you can do about it.

Believe me we appreciate the sentiment.
I was going to allow it and monitor for any trolling/inappropriate response however I must respect M_T_Ms previous decision and follow suit.
Of course we are all deeply sympathetic and our thoughts go out to those affected, however I would not like to see such a poignant and well intentioned thread ruined by trolls.
Once again though, thankyou for the sentiment.

ATTENTION!

I have asked a mod to help cleanup general and q&a section.
If there is a ROM or something else you worked on and have stopped or there wasn't enough demand for it please ask a mod to remove said thread.
Let's try not to make a thread for every single question, my thread is still available. I still closely monitor it whenever something is posted.
Also there are other threads for q&a no need for 25+ thread for single questions.
Sorry if it seems like I'm ranting, kinda want to, we just got this forum so it would be "easy" to sort through info, but I feel it bloated as H***.

Yes, life does take up time, as all know just like the rest, us Moderators have lives and sometimes that consumes more of the XDA time . We are hobbyist just like you and we are volunteers just like others on this great Forum.
But for future requests or issues, the report button is there if needed, or a PM to all on the Moderation Team as you can use the term "shotgun effect", you will hit something...:fingers-crossed:
Thanks again Sir, for your efforts.
