Downloaded again and again su problem in Titanium and can't update apps that are allready on the rom , keep getting signature failure when I update titanium, gmail and amps from market

Open superuser and follow the update instructions... that should fix it to work just fine....

Hi All...
I got my Unbranded GSM Phone+Wifi+3G version of Galaxy Tab on Jan 1st 2011 and finally voided warranty yesterday after watching the forums for a long time now..
I successfully install the overcome kernel and the rom.. Although, I didnt follow the instructions suggested.. I didnt do a Re-stock and didnt wipe ny Internal SD...
Every thing works great and the phone is too good .. Thanks to the ROM .. Alterbridge..
Only thing is .. the Camera doesnt work:

I know it is not fair to ask for help without following the suggested steps .. But still curious to get it fixed of there are ways.. I restored all the Data but the mistake I did is also I also restored System Apps..
To try fixing.. I restored the Camera.Apk from the ROM.. (after mounting the root in r/w mode) ..
Just looking for any other suggestions...
If nothing works.. I would restock the kernel.. but restoring the apps and data is a bit painful.. (I only have the free version of Titanium backup)...

just be aware that if you follow the overcome installation guide and use the jmk safe installation package, your internal sd WILL get wiped
Yes.. aware of that.. redid the whole thing.. titanium backup started FCing.. redid the ROM.zip part again.. TB works after that.. restored most of my stuff.. seems all is well

Some exchange experiment srewed up my phcone.. got auto wiped...
now reconfired all data & apps.. and my camera is again not working.. F%@%@U&@ really frustrated
Also I tried Video call.. the front camera doesnt work.. Any suggestions?

Yes I was fiddling with email.apk earlier..will chk it now...any ideas why it affects the camera?

After upgrading to Overcome Rom my camera now fails when I try to open it.
I read in the Overcome thread over in the Development forum this
"the camera has linked & shared libraries with the Email application. Try to replace Email.apk with a stock version. That usually fixes 99.99% of all problems with the camera app."
Where do I get the stock Email.apk ? and how do I replace the one I'm using with the stock one ?

When i try to install any app from app market i get the error which says Package File Invalid or something similar (have attached a screenshot below).From what google search told me...i figured it out to be a problem with app cache and space required for cache and this could be fixed by linking sumthng with link2sd...i have no idea how to do and mainly WHAT TO DO .
I am currently running ben's .sense v1.0 rom and approx 222 apps installed and 1.15 gb ext partition with 795 mb free memory available.
edit- tried wiping cache using rom toolbox and i restored 12 mb free space but the error still irritates me :-(

hehe now i feel good.atleast sum1s der who has same probs.what ppl suggested is UPDATING TO A NEW ROM (which isnt applicable for us),wiping dalvik cache and routine triple wipe and reinstall all apps and sacrifice data...this didnt work for many ppl.....

Well everything seems to be installing in my end, Though i dont have as many apps you two.
seems like we ll have to test installing bunch of apps,approx 230 apps on minds 2.1 and 3.5 rom aswell.
tried uninstalling market update..still no success.

good luck theres a problem with memory on m1nds 3.5rom.....somethings not right, as it caps how many apps i can have installed lol

lol...i have his other 3.5 rom, same as his 4.7 but stock odex, meaning no theming allowed (no icons/battery/lockring) lol if you want it, still has all features etc....and usable with data2whatever script aswell.
but does this error occur in that rom?
so the point is i ll be using only that rom which doesnt give me this error.be it bens dot sense or mind's 2,1 or 3,5 or odexed rom.its annoying to see the app store is of no use after so much development and testing work.
Edit- the problem finally got FIXED.
wiped dalvik cache using rom toolbox and now i can install apps from play store.
..earlier i was not able to exceed 222 value...but now its 228 (user+sys) .
wiping dalvik cache removed about 21 'un usefull' files....atleast the prompt from rom toolbox said so...dont actually know what files it removed.
need BigBearEvo to confirm this !

Its smooth and good but didnt find any developers setting . Haptic feedback does not work.
Several reboots and faced few incoming calls disconnected after talking for few seconds.
Music and Sounds are better than the previous roms.
Want to stick with this rom now for few days.
Would kindly like to requet Tanuj to update on the few bugs as this too is a super rom for us.

I am really surprised that reboots never happened for me on any of the rom other than once or twice. Still working out for the reason some people even confirmed no reboots
Developers setting is in application tab
Remember to wipe dalvik cache before installing any new rom.
Superfast rom..its very good..am loving it.

Any way of converting all those chinese languages showing up in the notification area to english.

Tanuj 2 - 3 things just want to mention and need to add in future ROM.
1. keep phonesky.apk in the ROM, it will avoid flashing GAPPS related problem
2. Use automated APN patch
just want to inform you that playstore still FC while selecting app, but I can update it using update button. Will taste more APK
and very bestl uck for MIUI and Paranoid ... desperatly waiting for MIUI as I love MIUI

Hey guys, which one of the newest firmwares are rootable? I downloaded some of the newest ones and the ace ginger root file doesn't work for it so I had to downgrade until I found one that was rootable.

I tried the upd_1.zip on ddkq8 & it had worked. But when I flashed int2ext+ on BE kernel, device didn't boot & after a factory reset via cwm, it did. But this time, all the apps that need root access like the cwm, sd maid, etc., failed to open up & stuck on black screen with the app name label at the top. What could be the reason ?

Let's clear something up !
First of all, ALL ROMS can be rooted !
I have alot of experience in that, and after 3 years of testings first and only problem when u try to root a rom is SYSTEM free SPACE !
So, before complain that a rom cannot be rooted, just see how much free space u got (u can do that without root, using last 3.0 root explorer).
After u do that, make a flashable zip only with meta scripts that remove Maps.apk or something, than try again. It's 100000% workin !

You could easily remove bloatware (and much more) via aroma filemanager 1.8, just mount all, install zip from sdcard, select aromafm-1.80.zip run it and enjoy. The easiest way! Good luck.

There's a bloatware removal script for galaxy y that works even for ace. It works even without root. It is just a updater script that removes many unwanted apps. Just flash via recovery. Easy as that

As aromafm-1.80.zip by Amarullz is a file manager for all android , you can: remove or add any file anywhere, change the names of all the files , etc.

Thank you! Downloading. Thanks for everything guys. I gave cooper to my girlfriend and I had Stock on Fire installed and it's giving her problems. The /system seems to have gotten corrupted somehow and a lot of apps FC and when I try making a Nandroid it stops at backing up system.
I'm about to just flash the latest stock rom, root it and add the all in one ICS/lockscreen mod and just leave it there. Do you guys recommend anything else? I just want something that I can leave it at and not worry about anymore.

Hi SuperAce609, yesterday I installed S5830BUKT2_S5830VODKT1_S5830XWKT8_HOME.tar.md5, erased Thinkfreeoffice with aromafm-1.80, rooted with upd_1.zip, installed CWM recovery, flashed BE kernel and int2ext+, updated superuser and Google play and all went like a charm. I made it for practising and remembering the old times. Now, I'm back on my favorite rom again, but as I said before all went fine. Cheers.

You can try BusyBox Installer by the developer JRummy Apps Inc, This one worked for me! Just press install and thats it.
I can't post the link but you can find it on the play store, just search for busybox and its usually the second one.
For those who have the same problem is becose the htc one has no permission for rw in to the system so if u wanna keep the stock kernel u can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.timos.htconerw
To gain the rw permission and after u can use the busybox installer app in Google play

Sorry for reviving such an old thread. The above link is for an outdated app (I didn't bother trying it). It could still work.
This was the way I installed to my HTC One M7 International version.
However, here's another option for those of you wanting a fix. Use the "recovery" option in the installer; It'll reboot itself to recovery and flash a .zip of BusyBox. Worked for me. The app is called Busybox On Rails and can be found in the App Store.
I can't post a link, maybe a mod can add one or something...
