Hey guys i was just right now successful in flashing my phone with gingerbread IS and i love the speed and everything !! i saw manyy people asking questions about how to flash and everything and once upon a time even i was in a troublesome state with this problem so made this thread for noobs !!
Step 1 : Download the WWE update i.e.RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.12.405.7_Radio_20 .2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M_release_187295_sign ed from the thread link given below , as it is supposed to be the latest as mentioned by a lot of members !!

Step 2 : A Gold Card, enables you to install official Android ROMs intended for your phone . Note that if you want to flash custom ROMs, you will have to permanently root your phone instead.

This link mentions Desire HD but even works for Incredible S ..
Step 3 :
Here you require the previously downloaded WWE file just run it click on " next "
as per the instructions go !!
make sure you have atleast connected your phone once to htc sync software before performing this complete operation !!
One more thing the microSd that you turn into the GoldCard can be reformatted and used again as a regular mmc !!

Nope... didn't work on mine. Error 130.
Try it anyway on yours, it's very safe to try and you're not going to break anything by just trying it. Maybe I have a bad SD card or something.

RUU update was interrupted with an error prompting for a "correct version" of ROM while updating signature.

We will recieve updates according to the wwe schdule ... This is not the asia rom ... Its wwe ... The world wide release ... Will work fine on our indian phones ive been using for quite some time now ...

Well, if you use the goldcard method, it will definitely work because I've went from WWE to Asian version once, and no problem making update.
BUT TRUST ME, YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT.
The official WWE version has a new bootloader and if you wan't to root you device AFTER the upgrade, you can't do it directly...you will have to downgrade to 1.31.xx version to be able to do it...So think wisely...In my opinion...root the device and install MDJ version...it's stable and updated.

Hey guys, tried this with 2nd different cards and neither worked. I'm wondering if there were any extra steps i was missing or if my cards are just no good?

Well I put the card in my phone, formatted it. Plugged it in to the computer, set it to charge only with debugging enabled and ran the program. I set it to try mmc1 and mmc0 neither of which worked.
I also tried following a few tutorials and none of those worked either.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not but I don't think I am which is why I think I need a new sd card.

There is definitely something wrong between the communication from the PC to the phone...although i can see what...but if it doesn't retrieve anything in either mmc0 and mmc1...then it's not connecting to the phone properly i think...
See and I don't know why. I'm using the cable that came with the phone and I even had the sdk installed. Gah! I need help haha

I treid downgrading my INCS back to RUU_Vivo_HTC_ARA_1.43.415.3_R_Radio_20.27.30.0802U_38.03.01.08_M_release_176683_signed using the DHD method, the rom flashed normally but after rebooting the phone i got stuck in a boot loop, seems radio won't downgarde, flashed back to WWE 2.3.3 GB and the device is up again. how can i get arabic on my device since it's S-ON and currently not downgrading from Gingerbread to froyo?

I just received an OTA for my Incredible S and I can't see anything about it online: version number 2.30.707.1 and it was about 30MB.
I didn't find any obvious change so far. And the description was something very vague about "update of applications".
Any one knows what this update was about?

If you have ClockworkMod installed, the OTA will fail. You need to flash the HTC stock recovery back in order for the OTA to run and update successfully.
I'm from Australia, and keep checking every half an hour for updates. nothing yet.
Updated Mine and NO SENSE 3.0!
Disappointed with how slow HTC is dealing with updates!!!!!!! Super SLOW!

HTc sense is by far superior to Touch Wiz in my opinion and I have had phones with both so I know what i'm saying.

Lots of guides in the development section. U need to download the stock HTC ROM, again found in development section, connect ur phone to ur computer via usb and put the downloaded ROM zip file onto ur sd card, then boot into recovery and flash the stock ROM on ur sd card following the on screen instructions. 4ext recovery is best to use. Format and wipe first. This will however put ur phone back to s-on. Or you could just wait for one of the many good developers here to cook a new ROM based on the latest release, undoubtedly better. All the guides take u through it step-by-step though.

Thats where my knowledge on this issue runs out my friend. Have you searched every thread to do with gaining back S-ON? It may be worth traulling through in case there's something in there which may help you. Even googling it or having a look on you tube...there's loads about gaining S-OFF so there might be something in there about S-ON.

Can you please help me on this ? I miss HTC Sense a lot

I know your pain my friend as I am a fan of Sense, but fear not! There are a number of ROMs using both Sense 3.0 and Sense 3.5 out there at the moment all located in the development section, or nicely packaged in one place here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136463. You would install these the same way you installed CyanogenMod. I am currently running Nikhil - TriNity Sense 3.5 which is currently in the process of being updated, so you may want to wait for that if you fancy giving 3.5 a go, if not then Virtuous Unity is also very good, although again expecting an update. Bslim's ROM is also sporting 3.5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265980
If you want to go back to your original stock ROM and did not do a Nandroid backup of it before flashing Cyanogen, then you can download the stock RUU that relates to your version of android and the radio you currently have. Look at your phone info if your are unsure of this. You then download it to your sd card and flash it the same way as all the others. If you did do a backup just restore this and hay presto!

Cant help with the md5sum mismatch I'm afraid. Did you wipe all your data before flashing i.e. cache and dalvik cache ect?
The ROM u want to use is available in English, like u said just select it in when u first reboot.
U can find ur radio version under settings-about phone-software info-more-baseband version. Match this with the RUU in the thread and ur sorted...it will obviously be a gingerbread version. Yes they are flashed the same way as other ROMS.
All the ROMs are available in English. If they say "full Arabic", that's because Arabic is not always available on ROMs and the developer wants you to know that it is in theirs. The ROM i am currently using is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301785, but it is currently being updated and the download is not available.
