[Q]Making volume panel transparent - Android Themes

Title says it all. How can i make volume panel less black and more transparent? Volume panel must look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Also,how can i make menu buttons more transparent? Menu things should look like this:
TIA

For the volume background you'll need to edit "panel_background.9.png",
and for the menu you'll need to edit "menu_background.9.png" and "menu_background_fill_parent_width.9.png".
All these can be found in framework-res.apk/res/drawable*dpi/.
For more info editing .9.png's click the link in my signature "learn how-to theme"
Hope this helps

would this also make the popup windows transparent...

No, that's controlled by popup****.9.png and toast_frame.9.png

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
There is a white-bar metamorph in the Vibrant Themes and Apps forum, but it still has a white clock and white text due to the fact that we don't yet have a de-odexed rom to use to tweak the text color settings.

thanks a lot
Michels
if you want that you should take part of your background for bottom Taskbar!
install a rom that runs 6.5X
That has the start menu on the bottom left of the screen like that and most of the icons in roms look similar to that.

Start Menu Grid Theme

I was playing around with StartMenu_GridScene file after updating my JWMD Armids 1.2b and after going to sleep ..
and look what I did
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I was hoping I could put something at the bottom of the grid.. something like a quick lunch or fav apps .... does anybody done that before?
anyway, incase you want to try this.. I made a CAB file but first, please backup your original StartMenu_GridScene_240x320.cpr
Is there a way to have the icons in the Start menu lined-up horizontally and vertically just likelymy pic above
could i edit StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr to get it??
I suggest look for an alternative start menu

How to change Ongoing/No notifications bar color - Froyo

Im trying to figure out how to change this, but Im not able to find it. It does not appear to drawable-hdpi and I opened all of the XMLs in layout that have status bar in the name, but nothing shows the gray color that the bar is now. Where is the code/picture to change this. I would like to change it from gray to black.
I attached a picture. I want to change the bar color that says Ongoing and Notifications. Im not sure if its one bar, or if there is a sepparate one for Ongoing, Notificatios, and No Notifications.
Thanks

Have a look at framework/base/core/res/res/drawable/progress_horizontal.xml and framework/base/core/res/res/drawable/progress_indeterminate_horizontal.xml and provide the corresponding images ...
Edit: I was wrong, you need to edit / modify the seek-* files, located in the same directory.
What wallpaper are you using? It looks nice
