[APP] Dedraks' Splash Tools - Milestone 2 Themes and Apps

Check my app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076551
It was made for motorola Defy but if you want your device to be supported, please help me with the list bellow:
I need some information from your device:
1) Screen resolution (Defy is 854x480)
2) Splash resolution (Defy is 480x182)
3) Splash partition (Defy is /dev/block/mmcblk1p10)
4) A dump of the splash partition:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/SPLASH_PARTITION of=/sdcard/SPLASH_PARTITION.dump
Change SPLASH_PARTITION with the actual splash partition of your device.
Zip the dump file and post here.
5) The build.prop file
I need to know it in order to add supporte for a device.
Thanks in advance.

1)Same resolution

Check your email.

I tried your app but at startup it said Unsupported device motorola motoA953, all controls disabled.
I have Motorola Milestone 2

Can you send me your build.prop?

Thanks.

Can't download the file.
Please post the contents here inside a

I have corrected it. See previous post.

Yeah I have the same problem and changing device ID with milestone 2 toolbox didn't help. I would love to use your app!
I am looking forward to the next update!

It works, but...
Hello,
I have a Milestone 2 (A953) and your apk it's supposed to work on it.
The apk says I have an Unsupported device, maybe because I'm using a
Cyanogen Rom 10.2 Jellybean 4.3 based on chinese version of the phone and
the model changes to motorola ME722 but it's the same phone.
¿Could you fix it?
Thanks you in advance

Not the same kind of "image" file. Do a google search on "android image extract" or "android rom image extract"
There's tools out there for it.

The way I got Let's golf 2 back on my rooted bolt was to backup my current rom then flash jcase's ota then titanium backup let's golf on jcase's ota then wipe and restore my current rom then use titanium backup to restore let's golf.
I did that and now I have it for good.
Hope this helps.
i pmmed jcase and he said that it's a ext3 and to not use unyaffs, what does that mean?

google it. if it were a tough question to answer, i would just say it. your answer will come in 10 seconds after you do. just a hint, you have to mount it in linux (or there's ways on windows with 3rd party apps)
I paid for it too back when on release day. It would never restore after I changed roms. Never got much of a chance to play it.

If it's that simple wouldn't it have been just as easy to just answer his question?

Because I think it's better to teach him some information than just hand it to him? I've been contributing to the thread for a few posts trying to help them out. I didn't just jump on anyone to just look it up without some guidance or additional info. That and maybe I dont want to go through the steps of download the original image of the phone, extract it myself and post it here? I don't mind helping but doing that takes way more time than typing out stuff I know off the top of my head. However, if you have the game, that's what they want so feel free to post it for them.
I'm not sure what you googled...but on the first page of typing ext3 it says "How to read Ext3/Ext4 linux partition from windows 7 | Ubuntu Geek." How hard is that? Anways, ext3 is to linux as fat32 or ntfs is to windows or UDF is to a dvd/cd (they're file systems). Just find a program that extracts or mounts it or look up how to mount it directly on linux.
If you want me to find an article for you. That's a bit much since it's the difference between needing help and information and just not wanting to type a keyword into a search engine. There's plenty of tools and information out there.
There are a few ROMs out there that still have the apk for Let's Golf 2 in them.
Here is a deodexed ROM that has the apk inside.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030608
All I did to get it on my TB was to put the apk on my SD card and install it.

just resorted to this, wanted to stay away from pirated apps but i already purchased the game so **** it right? it was way to much work downloading unyaffs then finding out it was an EXT3 and then downloading a bunch of bull**** that didn't yield any results

can i dual boot?

can i dual boot 2 roms?
Yes and no. The closest thing to it is through an app called bootmanager that installs roms on your SD card which doesn't take long to switch between roms. But you can't truly dual boot off the phones internal storage.

Our device is not supported.
It won't help with trying to get the KU900 V30 to work on our P970 as it doesn't boot. I am not sure how they do this from what I can tell they boot much later by mounting their file image then booting from that. The problem we are facing happens before that, but it does look interesting.
EDIT: Those sizes you are looking for can very easily be found using any terminal emulator or adb shell.

To what extent does can it "emulate" the alternate ROM booting. Can we alter bootargs that are passed to kernel by u-boot. Their website actually tells me very little about how it is actually done.

Just the kernel won't help. We need to alter stuff before the kernel gets initialized and if we make a mistake then we might lose the ability to go into SW Update mode and we can't risk that.
We can easily re-flash kernels as is so that's not the problem.

you really shouldnt post out files that might break some devices without any testing, you should test it out yourself before you let someone else take the risk for you, also the file is not big enough to be a rom

Yeah it's cool to share your rom but the sdk gives you the possibility to test what you've built before.
Then after that you can test it yourself.
It's obvious this rom will not work.
But when you'll finish the development i will test your rom with plaisure.
But don't burn the steps man.

Welcome on board mate!
However I should advise that in general, the XDA community need as much information as you can provide about what you have modified, what your project goals are and above all reliable and credible downloads.
I`m really not trying to upset you, OP, and we look forward to new projects all the time, but your OP (Original post) needs updating with more information.
Have you set up a proper build environment in Ubuntu for example? Are you building from source?
Or are you merely downloading CM10.1 and adding/removing what you like as per your requirements?
More information please! And never be afraid of asking for help and information!

I'm adding and removing features as I feel my final goal is built in gestures I would be building my self but my crappy computer can't handle it

Yeah I've stucked at same point too, then I've changed framebuffer's and lib's permissions to 777 but another problem appeared(I guess it needs kernel edit), so I gave up it.
This may be of some use to those trying to port the white balance settings -

LOL, just LOL. Setting file permissions and trying to "port" by trial and error is hardly "advanced stuff". Anyone with the most basic knowledge and a root enabled file explorer can do that.
I was simply trying to help you by linking to a post that lists the required libs and the locations that they are required to be in. No need to be snotty about it

I was searching cc_calib because I've downloaded that files already and there was an error in logcat. We can't start porting it without downloading them.
And I bet normal user won't change permissions of framebuffer in this situation.
You didn't list what you had done or which libs you had, so I linked to a post that listed the required libs just in case you had missed something.
A simple "Thanks, but I've already seen that" would have been enough, but in return for me trying to assist you, you decided that you had to try and act high and mighty and pretend like blindly copying files and messing with file permissions is anything but basic trial and error that anyone is capable of.
Good luck getting any help from anyone with that attitude.
This is the end of my involvement in this thread, so feel free to get the last word in as I won't respond again.
Have a good day

Only wasted time and bandwidth.
That's why I've suggested to always put the device name, from which the URL's were captured, into the thread title to avoid needless downloads..
