Data On/Off - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running Dagr's Dragon Rom. On the top task bar, there was a on/off switch for data. Today I installed his Obsession Rom, and would like to get that data switch back. Is there a way to do this?

How do you access it? Can you swipe up from the softkeys like you can on other JB devices with softkeys?

You have to long press homekey and the option comes out. Just like all the other Touchwiz Jellybean UI
so, just to clarify - its on the bottom of the multitasking menu, by task manager?

Yeah! When you long press "home" you get the task manager button, google now button and remove all button

[REQ] Back Button Kills Process

Hello,
is there any way to kill the current process by holding the back button?
thanks
Can't you just swipe it away in the recent apps menu ?
On stock and non-rooted rom you can only disable all background processes in Developers Menu. There's no way to set a hardware button kill action.
Would be cool to have a mod with "long press kill option" like in CM rom.

It kills most apps - not all of them though. Some are "swipe-resistant" for whatever reason.
3rd party app

Hi, I am currently using third party apps to kills, Its called gmd gestures which u can create a gesture that will kill process (Force stops the app but still u will receive the push notification) so it will not drain ur battery, u can also hide ur onscreen buttons and status bar where u enjoy th full screen real estate. Try it and u will love it

I googled this and it seems that swiping apps is pretty useless. When you swipe an app you just clear it from memory cache. So you will not get any ram out of swiping. But still, can someone confirm it??

change nav bar button order?

I would really love to be able to swap the back and recent buttons on the nav bar so that the back button is on the right side and the recents button is on the left leaving the circle home button in the center. This would make one handed use for me super easy as I rarely use the recents button one handed but the back button is my most used button more than home.
is there a way to do this and RETAIN google launcher? I dont want to resort to using another launcher if I dont have to. I was hoping maybe a root enabled app of some sort possibly?
You don't need to change launchers to swap navigation bars. Those two are completely irrelevant.
This is a custom rom feature, it is not yet implemented. In the themes and apps forum, you can find a tutorial on how to do what you're asking for.

Its fine I was on mobile earlier so I couldn't go out of my way to find the link. Do note that it may not be available for the ROM that you're using but the tutorial is there on how to do it. I can do the edits for you if you'd like but I'd need framework-res.apk and systemui.apk for your ROM.

I just flashed the MOD zip and it worked. stinks that you have to clear cache and let everything rebuild just to do the mod because if I want to switch back Ill have to do that over again. I'm thankful for this option though! Thanks again

That's pretty cool!
I did not know that existed. I found it on my Moto X Pure Edition 2015.
I don't know if I could handle status bar and menu swaps, but still cool to know.
I found this thread searching for navbar swap options.
Thanks!

Turn of hardware buttons on Droid Turbo?

Does anyone know how I can turn off the hardware buttons on the Droid Turbo? I want to completely disable them so I can use the UI buttons on the Bliss ROM I am currently running. If anyone knows please share with me how you do it. Thank you!!

It would be a ROM setting. In settings search for navigation buttons? That's what it's called in another ROM, Resurrection Remix. Make sure you have the software buttons turned on before you turn off your hardware (capacative) buttons, otherwise you will have nothing.
Also, you would probably get a better answer in the ROM thread itself.

I tried that but there's no option in there. Just for the on screen buttons.

What I'm trying to do is turn off the actual hardware buttons so that I can turn on the on screen buttons and use those instead.

Try asking in the ROM thread. The dev can tell you if it's possible. Like this question and answer?

Quick question.
I'm seriously thinking of trying this rom but need to know if the 3 capacitive buttons can be disabled and an on-screen lollipop style back/home/recents software nav bar put in its place?
If not possible in the rom, what about an exposed module that does this?
Would appreciate any helpful responses

Even if you turn them off, you will still be able to "see" them as the white paint outlines them. You will not reclaim that screen space. They are permanently there, you will just have software keys to use instead.
Hide the hardware keys?
https://www.reddit.com/r/droidturbo/comments/3v89fu/hide_the_hardware_keys/
No. The outlines are painted behind the glass. If your unlocked and running a custom ROM, you can disable the capacitive keys, but they will still be visible because there physically outlined behind the glass.

Aside from a front glass skin (if there are any that mask the buttons) I don't think there's any easy and appealing way to "make them disappear." It might be possible to disassemble the front glass and black them out, but I think that's too risky of a procedure just to hide them.
