[Q] Best ROM fo gaming? - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello im wondering wich is the best rom for gaming?
Im using floyo 0.20 now.
I saw gingerfroyo what seems tobe lightweight and smooth and floyobread 0.25? Wich is the faster? This was froyo what about gingerbread is it faster? Racht seems to have made a great rom anyone tried it for gaming (3d)?
Still interested if i can save the app data and more without the rom so not like a backup via xrecovery but another method that dosent backs up the whole system just my data in the phone memory.
Last question ^^
Is it possible to play pes 2011 normally? with the new 007 pinchtozoom gaming mod,
is it possible to move the virtual stick and push a button?
Thanks for the help (/bow)

[Q] Tell me how is gingerdx better than any other rom

How is gingerdx better than any other rom?
gingerdx haas soo maany problems that not even dx can solve...
no offence but its kinda true. battery problem , accselomeater problem... and many many more. if anything from 100% - 0% half day. v.v thats teribble for the greatest rom cooker in x8 forum . Dx you have made soo many great modules and roms ... why ginger dx is soooo bad? v.v
i've used GingerDX before but recently with the new version some bugs came out... right now im using FD Experience ROM, and it is a stable ROM and also looks like the original stock ROM of SE... just install the v1.0.0... its better i think!

since when? this is the original rom for the X8, not the X10Mini port...
FD Experience is much better that GingerDX!!!
FD Xperience is my present ROM, and i'm satisfied with it,
its like you are using the stock SE ROM but with so many features,
and a very fast and smooth gingerbread rom
(you can notice it after flashing this ROM),
much better to others as i experienced 'cause
I've already tested so many roms so far this one
don't give me regrets, actually i'm surprised with it....
FD Xperience!!!!EXPERIENCE & EXPECT MORE!!!!!!

why not.
but this engine ported for GDX first.
I don't know but I am more satisfied with GC than I was with GingerDX. My father has installed GDX and it is SOOOO laggy with 90MB RAM. I always get 30-40 MB RAM on GC and it's faster (and I really like the Xperia look )
Gingercrutz is very good and stable rom, but ut has some tiny bugs that is really annoying me, so at this point iv back to stock SE rom......

There is a fix for that. Go to GC settings, performance, lock home on memory.
All ROMs do that
Sent from my Shakira using XDA App
Ok, ill try that, but first i need to install GC again because im now on stock rom. GC is the best rom here, but iv been go back to stock because of this couple things that annoying me, iv been trying almost all rom here and this one is the best

Actually we can't say anything about which rom is smooth.
It totally depends on your usage, your choice.
For me 1.6 Donut is really fast .. LOL
But I'm using iXperia if you want some great UI or any MIUI rom would be great.

[Q] Which is the most stable Custom ROM?

Hi Guys! I am a bit lost here due to the number of ROMS available for this device.
My mom owns this phone, and she would love to get an update for her phone. She currently runs stock, and I was wondering which custom ROM do you think would be most stable.
It doesn't have to be the best. The most important part is the stability of the ROM. My mom is nowhere near techy. She even gets lost in Facebook. So I don't want to complicate things for her during her use. She needs a custom rom with memory managment but stable. ICS would be great and all, but she can stay in Gingerbread if that is the only stable ROM available.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this! Have a great day ahead!
Well if your mom is not all that techie then don't make a leap to a custom rom, the only 100% fully stable rom is the stock one right now. If you want, root the phone for her. If she wants an ICS look install Holo Launcher and get some ICS wallpapers, that is the best you can get to making the phone ICS-like.
But as for your question, the most stable are these:
1. Stocklite v7.1 (Closest thing to stock, but better because it gets rid of the Samsung bloatware.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094
2. Apocalypse ROM (CM 7.2 based for best perfromance i.e. faster gps locks, better memory optimization etc, but you will take a battery hit, not a lot but battery drain will be higher here)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700749
I've used both of these roms for months on end and they never game me any problems, so you are safe with anyone you choose.
Happy Flashing.
I came across the Apocalypse ROM in my search. It looked promising. Nice to know a confirmation from a user. Thank you very much!
Hopefully I won't have to keep maintaining the phone for her. I am used to having my data backed up and wiped, then restored, but she doesn't like the whole flashing cycle.
Thanks again! I will proceed with the installation tonight.

Most Stable ICS Rom
Hi Pals, which would be the most stable ICS Rom out here.
Please help me, i am new to this forum.
Myth 2 for me hands down + INT2EXT+ = best thing to happen to your Ace.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I went ahead with apocalypse for now, but when the ICS or JB builds get more stable, I might offer her another update. For now she is really happy with it.
i think for stable custom rom, you can choose :
- apocalypse
- droidace V2
- Miracle V4
but if you want something different, you can choose new MIUIXXX rom, im still using it n i love it..

I agree with him, use the MIUI GB ROM MIUIXXX. It is really smooth and stable + it has free themes like Vapor Ice online.

Really? I haven't tried any MIUI build before. As far as I know, they were built to imitate the iOS with now app dock, right?
Hello, I recommend an old and good CM7.2fat and CM7.2 democracy, now I'm on android 4.0.4 CM9 from maclaw and also I'm happy.
CM7.2 fat is rather most stable of these have given.
Hey try adrenaline final, its the simple and best ROM you can find, give a try. You would like it.

Just try CyanogenMod 7.2 u will get used to it

Thanks in Advance!
And One more question...
Temple run isn't available for download in playstore, so i was wondering that im using Ics and still its not available!! How Come?? :silly: Totally Noobie so help me out!! :good:

Temple Run will install OK, you'd just not be able to play it well..
ICS is slow, really slow.
If you want to game much, install FroyoPro.. No other rom comes close to matching it's performance for gaming.

phone is getting slower

Hi guys. I'm using cm mods for like 2 years. But it seems that it's getting slower and slower. I guess the new apps need more ram or something. Is there any way I can make my i9000 faster? Should I go back to gingerbread? Or any rom you can suggest for faster use?
It's really annoying to use the phone lately. Always lag.

For my phone helped me wipe cache/dalvik cache/fix permissions and factory reset... After these wipes my rom runs fast and smooth but after 2-3 months I need to do it again because the phone getting slower again Try it if you want I hope this can help you
I just use CM7.2 stable and no lag plus I can use chainfire3D in some games which gives them an extra boost... not sure if chainfire3D is compatible with any other version
I am using GamerzROM and the Fly-On Script and I can tell that it's super smooth. I also ticked GPU Rendering in Developer options, it seems to me that it makes scrolling so much smoother and basically everything is working fast.
Thanks for recommends. I installed gamerzrom and it's really good. I mean it's like i bought a new phone. I hope it won't do lag again after a week or so. If it will, then I'll try to add fly-on script I guess.
What is the difference between gamerzrom and CM???

Basically nothing. It's a rom with a modification of stock cm I guess. But very fast (compare to stock cm).
