[Q] How to move App-data to internal Storage? - Milestone 2 Themes and Apps

Hi,
is there any App to move application data (like the whole Wikipedia articles) to internal storage? A short How To should also solve my problem.
Any solution is welcome.

If you just want to simply copy files into /data/ folder you can use Root Explorer or Total Commander...
BR,
A.

Use titanium backup -> filters -> select external storage -> ok -> batch -> move all apps to internal extorage.
Then download some app2sd app and select the "install only on internal storage" option.

internal memory full

Hi, on my tab the internal memory is almost empty.. i've free 200 mb !!!
i've lot of app installed.. 1 of 110mb, some 10-20 mb, all other 1-2mb... i've suspect that the disk space is not full of app..
anyone have the same problem?
Is it rooted with a rom?

only rooted (original rom)
I had the same problem: the task manager was showing personal data at 80 out of 81MB. When I cleared the data for the web browser it dropped to using 7MB.
Clearing cache in the browser didn't help, I had to clear data for the app.
Of course that wasn't the first app I tried clearing data, but it was definitely the browser that was hogging the storage.

anyone can help us?
Did you by any chance used the One-Click-Lag-Fix? That shaves about 1GB from your 1.8GB app storage. I had same issue until I uninstalled the LagFix.
Also, you can use MoveToSD app to move all your apps to SD, that saved me about 400MB of space. Note: When you are moving Apps to SD, the ignore the size difference, it still moves the data to SD. You can check your storage size after moving a whole bunch of apps.
If you got root get the android terminal emulator then you su
#pm setInstallLocation 2
#reboot
that should move most of you app to sd. or you will have to manually do it but that should help.

I gave this a go, but it didn't move any apps from "Device Memory" to the "USB Storage".
If there are 3 devices, does the numbering work like this:
0=galaxy tab's internal memory "Device Memory"
1=galaxy tab internal SD card "USB Storage"
2=user-insertable/external microSD card "SD Card"
???
Answering my own question:
1=galaxy tab's internal memory "Device Memory"
2=user-insertable/external microSD card "SD Card"
0="[auto] Let system decide the best location"
...but I wouldn't bother setting it to 2, because it prevents some important applications (like Google Maps) from updating: "Application cannot be installed in the default installation location android"

[Q] How to delete Backups Made by CWM?

Help...backups eating a lot of space on my SD card..i wanna delete old backups..how to do that

Sorry this Thread should be closed..i found the sollution..sorry

There are many ways, but the most simple way is to connect your phone to your computer, and turn on USB storage. Then browse the contents of your SD card: (windows) computer > SD card > clockworkmod > backup > SELECT the backups you want to delete and delete them. Done.

internal external memory problem in cm7

does any1 have solution for cm7 bug of internal and external storage not showing together?
I can choose only one at a time in cm settings menu. The other stays disabled
Are you sure? Try to install root explorer. With it you could see both! And remember to choose the biggest one in settings because data will save there!

installed root explorer its workng and showing both the memories but again i wonder if music apps like poweramp or winamp would be able to access both memries for playback having root explorer installed?

Hi,
I think this problem is related to the apps. They only look on /sdcard. so it depends on, which storage is mounted to this path.
Other roms / devs offer a possibility to change the mounting paths, e.g. Gueste2x v3.6 Rom.
Maybe it is worth trying this rom.
Yeah, you have to pick all your music etc in one sdcard and set it in settings as the primary SDcard and the other as emmc... I thought that in CM7 this Option is in Settings > Apps>Debug (?) Or however in settings! Selecting the option that I'm telling you the internal memory will be the principal SD while the real SD will be emmc

thank u guys...root explorer solves the issue to a certain extent.
On any file manager (I use dual file manager, but I know it works on astro and ES file manager too), press the "folder up" button or back button. You'll see some folders, including emmc and sdcard. emmc is the folder for internal storage, and sdcard is well... the sdcard.
And mortplayer allows me to select music folders from both the internal and external. The default gallery (and most other 3rd party galleries) should be able to detect files from both the internal and external memory.

[Q] Galaxy Ace not enough memory problem

The phone only got 200Mb memory and it always say not enough memory.
I checked it in App2Sd that it only has 25Mb internal memory left.
Many of the Apps cannot be moved to sd card.
What is the most common solution to this problem?
I've consider flashing a custom rom with it, but it would not solve the problem.
First u should get custom recovery for ur device.
Cyanogenmod/cyanogenmod-based roms have a default option to move ur apps to sdcard. Also, Changing from STOCK TO CYANOGENMOD roms requires accurate knowledge & precision. Otherwise u might face prob.

Root, partition your sd card and install link2sd. By far the simplest solution for a beginner. Leave Roms and scripts until you have more experience.

Can moving apps like whatsapp to sd cause any problems?
What kind of apps can be exactly moved to sd card?
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
theoretically everything can be move. praxis shows that widgets do not work if moved to SD and some apps that run in background all the time might make problems.
i prefer WA on internal memory but i have FB messanger on external (ext4 on SD) and i also get my messages, so....try. as long as you do not move system apps to SD you cant do any serious damage^^
(just want to say: even if maps and stuff like that might be systemapps you can move them to SD. works for me and they are big as hell)
I already tried moving whatsapp to sd.. So far it works fine!!
What problems can it cause?
Thanks!!

in "worst case" you just dont get notifications by that app.
Can u tell me how to partition sd card exactly??
Is it reversible?

Step 1:
Via cwm recovery:
Advanced -> Partition SD-card -> select the partition size. -> select swap size(u should select 0) -> You get partition SD_card.
Warning Backup fro SD-card to PC everything before partitioning the SD card. You will lose everything present on SD-card.
via windows:
Tool Used: Mini-Tool Partition Wizard / Easeus Partition Tool (Both Are Same)
Delete the partition on your SD_card -> create FAT/FAT32 Partition(Size of this Partition = total SD-card size - Size of ext partition) -> create ext3/4 partition -> Hit apply.
Step 2:
Put the SD-card in your phone. -> Reboot/boot into recovery -> Goto mount/storage -> select format /SD_EXT Partition -> Go back to main screen -> Select reboot.
Optional
If you want to use ext partition for the installation of apps.
Then you should flash/install int2EXT+ scrip via cwm recovery.
Reboot and open settings -> Goto applications and see your internal space it will be around 158mb(ace original size) + size of ext3/4 partition.
Partitioning SD-card is IRREVERSIBLE so you are advised to backup everything which is on SD-card
Thanks to croniccorey for int2EXT+ script.
look for another app that moves to sd card i used this one called move2sd before using app2sd
I already have link2sd... And it works perfectly!
I don't know why apps2sd requires superuser permissions! It doesn't help at all..

How to wipe clean internal card (rooted)

I have a rooted Captivate so I don't want to accidentally delete something important. Is there an easy way to clean the content of both cards?

any file manager will do. if you browse folder by folder and only delete files you recognize as no longer needed, that is safest.
you might try SD Maid by XDA developer Darken. you can find it on google play, or in the Android apps forum on xda. you can scrub app data, find corpses, etc.
there are some apps that use the sdcard and if you wipe your internal sd card, they may stop working.
assuming you are running GB or later OS : if you go to settings, apps menu and select the sdcard tab, you can see which apps are on the internal sdcard and move them back to internal storage, if desired. you can also look at details of each app and see which ones store data on the sd.
