Where is this located?

If you're not seeing the "load kernel module" options in settings, be sure you're using the paid version "voodoo control plus" from the market. Unlike the free version, the "pro" version can dynamically load a kernel module for many roms requiring only root access instead of the compiled in voodoo sound support previously required...

EB01 Bootanimations (Help)

Has anyone been able to get custom bootanimation.zip(s) to work on EB01? If so, where do you put it? I've tried everywhere from Eclair locations and DL30 locations, but nothing.
You have to first have a kernel that supports custom animations. Such as the voodoo kernel jt has listed. Then u can just flash them by clockwork as usual. Sonofskywalker has some nice ones in rom manager

Enabling and disabling voodoo will have no effect on the boot animation. You have something else going on there.

This is known behavior. Check the SC2.2 thread for more information on that. Flashing the voodoo kernel will give you the Galaxy S boot animation by default, any other can be flashed over that without issue.
I am using Super Clean 2.2 with jt's Voodoo kernel on top of that, and can confirm that the custom boot animations work just fine.
No voodoo = no animation. As of right now anyways.

Voodoo Control App

I downloaded this app and it says my phone doesnt run a kernel supporting extended sound controls. Is there something I can do to enable this app to work on my NS?
Install a Voodoo enabled kernel from the dev section. Make sure you read up on how to do so.

1. Is there a description on all the settings?
2. The default settings are the best?

Kernel version

What version of the kernel is used on the Droid 3? This will be very important to finding exploits to obtain root access.
If you go to settings and look under "about phone" kernel version is 2.6.35.7

I don't own one. I am an Atrix developer. I was curious if I could help root it. As I expected, it is a newer version. I will still investigate now that I know the the version.
Thanks! Can't wait for this beast to get rooted things can only get better

i know there are a lot of people with their PayPal accounts ready for the first person to successfully root the D3.
When did they close up the sql-lite root bug?

How about /proc/config.gz. Knowing what kernel options are turned on is important.

Enable BLN with 2.3.4?

Is there a specific kernel that will enable BLN? I'm currently running Insanity, but after I haven't gotten this feature to work. This is even after I tried reinstalling the market app.
Thanks!

Try Sempahore, Galaxian or Talon
I don't think the kernel has an effect... Just updated to the newest TalonDEV and still no results

I've tried all the main kernels(using talondev currently). I've got the full paid bln app and it works fine using the test feature. Also the lights come on for missed calls but can I get bln working for sms ? No chance.
Disappointing.
Any other suggestions ?

Don't use stock sms, use handcent or gosms (both free on the market, and better than the stock app). They support bln.

Or get a flashable fixed services.jar. There was on in Talon kernel thread for JVR.

Or even better, use SMS Popup and keep the stock messaging application! That's the cleanest solution IMHO
The free bln app has worked for me on odexed jvr on both galaxian and semaphore. Currently on semaphore 1.6.0 and fine

[Q] Screenshot + Editor

Back when I was on stock note, after taking a screenshot, it brings me straight to the editor app which enables me to edit/draw on that screenshot (IE - Maps)
Now I am currently on Rocket v23 + Franco kernel and whenever I take a screenshot, It doesnt open that editor app anymore.
How can I enable this?
Thanks!!

Rocket Rom V23 is just a regular GB rom so it should work.
I'm also running RR V23 and with either Franco's Kernel or my current SpeedMod Kernel 2.7 I'm sent to the image editor straight away if I take a screenshot with the pen. Have you tried reflashing the rom?
