LED Flashlight for Revolution - LG Revolution

Hi guys,
I've just released Tiny Flashlight v3.9.8, which has full support for LG Revolution.
You can check it here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight

Works good, thanks. Was looking for one that worked on the Revo the day before you posted this.

Works well, thank you.

Thanks doink, I've been waiting for this update. Been using Tiny Flashlight for months on my fascinate and love it.

downloaded last night when i found that tesla flash light would not work... love it...

Why so many permissions for a flashlight app?
NETWORK COMMUNICATION
FULL INTERNET ACCESS
Allows an application to create network sockets.
PHONE CALLS
READ PHONE STATE AND IDENTITY
Allows the application to access the phone features of the device. An application with this permission can determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, whether a call is active, the number that call is connected to and the like.

Did you read the developer's description of the app?? Wait nevermind, I know the answer.
But if the mood strikes you, click on the link in the first post and expand the description.
Quoted from Android Market app description:
"Permissions:
============
Why Tiny Flashlight needs so many permissions and how are they used:
* TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOS (CAMERA permission)
- In order to start the camera led (flash) on some devices, Tiny Flashlight has to use a small part of the camera hardware and it needs this permission. Don't worry, I'm not taking any pictures or videos without your permission. Tiny Flashlight is just accessing the camera led (flash).
* CONTROL FLASHLIGHT
- This is the old method of accessing the camera flash on Android 1.5 and 1.6.
*** As you know, Tiny Flashlight is free, but also is one of the best supported apps on the Android Market. Currently, this is the only app that supports almost all devices with camera led (flash) and fully supports all versions of Android (1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0). This takes huge amounts of time and effort and in order for Tiny Flashlight to remain the best flashlight on the market, I have to use ads inside it.
The following permissions are required by Google's own ad provider (Admob) and Millennial Media (the biggest independent ad network). Both are respected industry leaders.
* INTERNET
- Used to load ad info from their servers. Nothing more.
* MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE
- Temporary caches some ads on your SD Card. This is another method used to save bandwidth.
* READ PHONE STATE AND IDENTITY
- Some Motorola devices have factory bugs. These devices don't have unique IDs and this became a problem for ad networks, because they can't function without it. There is a workaround for this problem by using the PHONE IDENTITY permission. This permission is used only for getting a unique id. Nothing more."

Have it and love it! Thank you!

Old original post this one which had no replies. Samsung apps have TekTrak - which sounds as if it should do the job. However you need to log in to the TekTrak web site to compete everything - and surprise - not yet available for Android. So anyone got a good alternative?

my lookout mobile security.
that's my favourite, there is a free and paid app,
you can turn on gps - track it down and wipe / lock device, make the phone scream a loud siren noise which can not be turned off - all from the my lookout website
Also there is an option in the app which stops the app from being un-installed
and finally it also acts as an anti virus - which scans every new app installed, and allows you to backup your sms / contacts
i highly recommend this app - the free version gives you all of the above

Actually it is available for Samsung through SamsungApps. I just downloaded it and completed the registration through the app. Works great for me. Really good app.
I have tried over 20 apps and today found the most amazing tracking and recovery application. It's new and absolutely free. There's only one thing that I'm worried about and that's if the developer will have access in the phones once this gets installed. Look for it on the Market. Name is "Android Lost" by Theis Borg
Features:
* read SMS inbox and sent
* wipe phone
* lock phone
* erase SD card
* locate by GPS or network
* start alarm
* send SMS from web page
* message popup
* forward calls
* remote install
* phone status: battery, imei, etc
* remote SMS alarm
* remote SMS lock and unlock
* start stop GPS
* start stop WIFI
The built in app is the best as it cannot be switched off without a password and it cannot be un-installed. The tracking part is restricted in some countries but the remote lock and wipe is universal. You can set it up from the phone the trick is to press the back button to switch the keyboard off and this reveals the Register button.
Lookout and "Where's My Droid" works great!

[Beta] Call Master CDMA testing thread

Hi everyone! Thank you for your help in getting CM up to a flawless standard! We are now almost ready to deploy CM 1.5 - it will include MMS blocking, Class0 auto replies and many other new and very cool features.
We need your help now to iron out any remaining bugs before we embark on a daemon rebuild. Please download the app from the market and get testing! Here are the issues we want to address specifically:
- If you have problems regaining 3G after the telephony restart. This should have been fixed. If not, please try "Slow radio restart" in Debugging and report your results!
- Issues moving list priorities on Light or Dark theme. Again, if you have issues, please switch to the other theme, try again and then report back.
- Notification color schemes. We are interested if the new notifications comply with the majority of frameworks.
Thank you in advance for all your great work, this ultra-awesome app is as much a child of yours as it is of ours

This is a fully functional application. However, after a 24 hour demo period it will start nagging you to buy the Key, which will remove all nag

Look. I have a sensation in front of me right now. The data comes back in 15 seconds.
I like the 15 update, thanks! Password protection is awesome!
Updated to r17,
- Tweaked password protection and hidden mode
- Added LED notifications
- Added private conversations
I can confirm that the radio never re-enables on a droid bionic. I tested with both my phone and my wife's with the same result.
Report sent.
How long did you wait, what rom/radio/kernel, and did you try "restart telephony"?
Just as a good measured test, I waited 60 minutes before trying the "restart telephony" option, then another 30 afterward. Data never returns, and there are no bars of signal. After a restart, the same thing happens once the app starts (no signal, no data).
Great looking app, very excited to have it working on our phones =D
Edit: Sorry forgot to mention, this was a fully stock bionic. The only deviation was the fact that it is rooted.
You should try with the screen on, not off. Also, i dont understand how you have no bars. Thats impossible.
Are you perhaps blocking some permissions or something?

Free flashlight app "Light Source"

hi,
i used some hints from this forum and created a little app around it.
It's called 'Light Source' and i wanted to provide it for free on the marketplace.
As you might expect, it fails marketplace validation.
The response, i got from the MS developer forum is, that only OEMs and Device Manufacturers are allowed to use the ID_CAP_CAMERA capability. To avoid a complete waste of the time I spent for developing it, I want to provide it here in this forum.
It is completely free, does not show adds and uses the video-camera light to show a constant, flicker free light. Additionally it has a red, green and blue-light mode and a metro-style icon that respects the user theme setting.
It also uses the suggestion from this forum to remove teporary stored video data in a background thread, so it leaves no junk on your phone.
Have fun, using 'Light Source' and may the source be with you!
regards,
Hannes
Hi....thanks so much for this app....LED function works perfectly on my Omnia 7

Very nice, thank you very much Installing now. I've been dying for something with a consistent light and a nice Metro icon.
Thank you! Very nice work.
Hi there guys.
That's strange, I have a flashlight app that was certified and is now on marketplace. It is called LED Flashlight, probably works the same way.
I checked and I do not use the ID_CAP_CAMERA capability.
hello. quick question how do i open up this XAP file? thanks
You need the developer tools installed on your PC and an unlocked phone to do this.
Start - Windows Phone SDK 7.1 - Application Deployment.
Use this tool to deploy the .xap to your phone.

Do you use the camera or the video camera to turn on the flashlight in your app?
Using the camera (and constantly focusing) turns on the light but it flickers on every "onfocus".
Using the video mode and turning on the led does NOT flicker but this is not allowed for third party developers in the marketplace.

I use the video mode with light ON, no flicker, at least on my Omnia 7. Of course, it does not work on phones with xenon flash, like the HTC Mozart.
You could test it if you want, its free. I won't give a link here, because its a thread about your app, but you could find mine in the marketplace, the publisher is Enless Soft.

[APP] SwitchMe Root Profile Manager needs INCS testers please!

Hi everyone. Im one of the developers of SwitchMe, and app that allows multiple secure logins into separate installations of android on a single device. The pr is after the break.
I really need a few people to check into some issues people on some roms have been experiencing. There are some warnings involved:
- testers must perform a full nandroid backup before using the app, it is not our responsibility if you start getting boot loops
- if you report results or bugs, please use the "Write to us" function in the app whenever possible, and always describe the issue in the header of the logs you send
- if you post here, be sure to include your device type and rom
- if you have apps installed on sd, be sure to mention that as well
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple installations of Android just as you would on a desktop computer.
The technology behind SwitchMe saves all of your applications and data, protects it and stores it as a file in memory. You can then log out of an
account and log into a fresh installation of Android or another account with its own unique content.
You may create as many profiles as the memory is capable of holding. Some of these may require very little free memory because they contain few apps,
others will be larger as they contain many applications and lots of cache and data.
Why is this functionality useful?
Privacy - the most obvious benefit is that you can securely share one device among multiple users, which gives you privacy and peace of mind.
Testing - if you are a developer, you can use profiles as clean sandboxes to test your applications and their interaction with the system.
Gaming – with multiple installations of Android on a single device, you can now play online MMOs as different characters.
Speed - the games your kids play slow down your tablet, but with SwitchMe you can easily create profiles without games or instant messengers.
Battery life - when the battery is low but there are important emails or documents to edit later, switch to a profile which only contains these essentials.
These of course are only suggestions - there are plenty of other uses for the functionality SwitchMe offers.
Market link:
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme
The Lite version allows the creation of two profiles, enough to test on.
Screens:
Just started to test it, created 2 profiles : one main, one for testing the switching. After first switch, loading circle started, remained stuck for 10secs (same happens when switching back), then restarted. New loading screen showed up, first load took about 5-7mins. After all loaded, switchme requested SU perms and new google account interface started.
One possible bug i noticed, usually when new google account interface starts, the mobile data service is started so you would have connectivity. This time it didn't start (i had it turned off in profile 1, then switched to profile 2). Although it works properly, it just didn't start at first startup.
All my installed/downloaded applications are not included in the app drawer, so that works nice.
But a drawback i noticed. If the app is focused on the privacy part of sharing one device, gallery pics&videos are accessible from both profiles, so you might want to think of a way of restricting pics&vids accessibility only to the profile that created them (big challenge from my point of view).
All default installed application seem to work without a problem.
One strange thing i noticed, our custom ROM has Beats audio included - in profile 1 (my default one) switching Beats audio on/off works, but on profile 2 (newly created profile) switching it off makes it stuck on off (switching it back on has no effect on audio).
As i don't have a necessity for this app to run it as a daily profile switcher, can't test more in-depth scenarios, but if you want something tested/have a scenario, write it up here or send a PM. Good luck with the development.
Using Nik IncredibleS Trinity SensationXL4.0 ROM (2.3.5 android with 3.5 sense) with included 2.6.35.14 RCMIX VIVO kernel (with my HTC Incredible S S710e).
SwitchMe 1.2 has been rolled out and now includes a lockscreen replacement:
1.2
Added lock screen for logging in and out
More stable Fast switch implementation
Reworked UI colors
Now, its very important that we get some feedback on how this big new feature works, so please read up on it in the help and post your thoughts!
1.2.2 - HOTFIX 2
Reworked widget on qHD+ displays
Fixed widget text on HC and ICS
Fast switch improved on older devices
So guys, anything to report?
1.4.3.7
Fixed device specific switch screen crashes and issues
Fixed UI bug in switch screen preferences
If anyohe had problems with superuser before, this should fix them. Please let me know if that is the case, its important we get some feedback here!
Anything to report regarding yesterday's release?

- Only bug/or maybe a feature I noticed is The app itself have different settings between logons. I mean If I optimize in one logon, I must made the same changes in other account too. Its sometimes frustating.
- And the setting "logout automatically" not worked correctly. When I speak to someone on phone and proximty turn of the screen, and I remove phone from my ear, It shows the logon screen, everytime.
Seems like everything worked flawlesly. But I have a question. What happens if I uninstall the program?

[App] SwitchMe - Share Your Device - MULTIPLE USER SPACES

Hi guys Im one of the developers of SwitchMe - an app that creates multiple user spaces. We have just released a new build which should fully support the T2s. Please have a look and let me know if everything is working as it should!
Thanks in advance, PR after the break:
.................................................................................................
SwitchMe - share your device!
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple installations of Android just as you would on a desktop computer.
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple user spaces just as you would on a desktop computer, with each profile having its own separate system settings, apps and data.
Some of the benefits of this technology:
Privacy
Securely share one device among many users, protect your accounts with passwords and log out automatically.
Kids
Create a profile for the kids, with only the apps and access you feel comfortable with.
Gaming
Overclock your profile for maximum performance in intensive games
Speed
Imagine a buttery smooth profile, with no kids games, messengers or bloatware to slow things down.
Testing
Create a sandbox profile to easily test applications and themes - no more nandroid nightmares!
Battery
Switch to a profile which only contains the essentials to save power through brute force.
Critical usage warning:
Incorrect use of this application can potentially harm your device. Before proceeding with use we strongly recommend that you perform a full nandroid backup through the device recovery.
READ THE HELP FILE CAREFULLY TO AVOID ISSUES
Without the Key, this application allows a maximum of 2 profiles and no security features.
Only the standard Android implementation of Apps2SD is currently supported. Use all others at your own risk.
Most devices should be compatible as long as they have enough free internal memory to create secondary profiles. The application will warn users if available memory is low.
These of course are only suggestions - there are plenty of other uses for the functionality SwitchMe offers.

Guys there have been reports of the app being blank sometimes. Im trying to work out if this is something to do with superuser vs supersu. If youve experienced this, please let me know and be sure to tell me which of the two youre using...
I haven't been having that problem since I disabled the "switch screen functionality" in the settings. I do use the "fast switch" option and just open the app when I want to switch profiles. I am using SuperSU v0.96

No, not just because it didn't show statistics, but I wouldn't be able to switch users unless I rebooted the device. When the problem would occur it also wouldn't bring up the switch user screen on the lock screen after waking up. If the icon notification was enabled it just opened up the statistic screen, not the user switch screen. I would get stuck in the current users profile until I rebooted and hoped the switch user screen would show after start up.
I like the functionality of the switch user screen but with it glitching like that on my device the only sure way to be able to switch profiles is to disable all that and just go into the app/statistic screen and click switch at the bottom.
I just noticed that there is a widget for this app that allows switching profiles without opening the app.

I think your problem is with supersu (if thats what youre using). If possible, change it to superuser or at least make sure that youve set supersu up to always grant and whatever.
Supersu is very green and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
I have used this app for awhile now and really love it as it allows both my girlfriend and I to separately use my nexus 7 without interfering with each others settings. However, I recently flashed a CM 10 nightly (which i really like) and the switcher no longer works, freezing during each switch attempt.
I know it says CM 10 is not supported at the current time on the app page, but are there an plans to include this support in the future? Any info is appreciated and thanks for your work.
