Turns out I have an American Tab Galaxy (Claro - Argentina) and inexperience try version 2.3.3 upgrade to a European, JQ1. but at the end of me flashing the screen goes black and only the lights .. Someone can tell me the steps to revive the Tab? Since I saw several ways, but which will not correct .. I await your responses .. Thank you very much!

We need far more information from you in order to give you an accurate answer.
1) What is the exact model number of your tab
2) What did you use to flash with and what files did you attempt to flash?
3) What state is your tab currently in? Does it show ANYTHING when plugged into the wall with the stock charging cable?

My apologies friend, the truth that I was complicated by the English, so all this ..
Start from the beginning .. My Galaxy Tab is the GT-P1000L, originally came with the P1000XWJK1 version, but I try to install the Kernel v1.4.7 OVERCOME, and there comes the problem, because when you turn the device did not work the touch system. When that happened, what Hise was updated to version P1000XXJMQ once update finished with Odin, the team only lit buttons below, but the screen did not light .. After that, the upgrade to the version P1000LVJJM9 of America, he returned to light the screen, but stays in the logo of Samsung (I leave 1 hour and still the same) and that's it .. I can do?

you can't flash overcome kernel to your tab because the kernel can't fit in your tab for different hardwares ..
download the rom from here its for AMERICA (L) ? http://www.multiupload.com/LCTD17WK3S

from what i understand , your tab is still alive don't be afraid . all the best

Typing in caps is usually taken as yelling or screaming. Then you had two posts when editing the first would have been fine. But not just that, you really had nothing to say that contributed to the conversation, it was just ranting really, about something I had already addressed.
My mother used to tell me "If you don't have anything productive to add to a conversation, then stay out of it." ... now if only my hall monitor of a boss would abide by that rule.

Kosh is correct, your Tab isn't dead, yet. You actually have a Latin tab, not an "American" one. Follow the guide he posted and you should be going on your way.
In the future, try to remember the fact that you have a P1000L ... This is important, as not all kernels and ROMs will run on this version.
You may want to hunt around and try to restock the tab. ... I can't believe I'm about to suggest this, but perhaps if the link above doesn't flash properly you will need to use a firmware from samfirmwares.com ... just be very wary about flashing, it can be dangerous.

i edit my post , because its so hard for him to follow the 1st guide i gave him
but i toke stock rom from samfirmware that made for =======AMERICA/AUSTRALIA - P1000L======== (copy and paste) . and by following my simple guide i think he will return to life again (hope so) ..
Note: i'm just surprised how could he post in the dev section when he only got 3posts , i'm chilling killing don't worry

If you haven't checked or unchecked anything, than yes, that is correct.
Flash it from that screen and see how it turns up. I can confirm it is soft bricked if you are getting the yellow COM box.

Well, universally, caps = screaming, which is how a LOT of people interprete it. Trying using the bold tag instead to highlight something Fairly easy to just type {B} {/B} (Those being [] obviously) over something
And yes, I have no idea how he managed to post in the Dev section... Maybe a MOD needs to look into that.

I hope this is in the right place... I recently purchased an unlocked Tilt on ebay. im pretty sure it has a custom rom loaded on it, but I don't know which one. the issue im having is that there are some letters on the keyboard that are mixed up. is there a cab file to fix this?? and if not, is it dangerous to load another rom on top of the already custom rom I have?? thanks.
please noob...search for the keyboard fix...and please read about rom flashing before doing anything or else it WILL be dangerous..but if u do it correctly then theres no danger at all

Go into Your settings and select system and device information this should tell you what rom you have. As above , roms are not some thing you put a couple of on a storage card and switch back and forth. Keyboard .cab fix is easy to find and install. Stick with the rom you have, obviously someone thought it was good enough, until you learn more on flashing and what is right for you.
no offense, but I did do a search, and it came up with over 1000 posts. I posted cause I was hoping somebody would point me in the right direction, not critisize me for not searching. and I know roms are dangerous, what im asking is not whether roms are dangerous, rather is it dangerous to load one rom on top of another unknown rom. instead of critisizing next time, y don't you help someone first.

i did help u did i not, i told u about the keyboard fix, if u got over 1000 posts, maybe your search terms are wrong, maybe narrow your search, i'm not critizing u for not search, cuz u may have, i'm just trying to help to give u terms such as keyboard fix so that u will know how to narrow your search in case u have problems in the future.
in the case of your roms, its not dangerous to load one rom on top of another because u will hardspl and once u finish flashing u will do it hard reset which will clear off anything that was left behind in the previous rom so there is no danger at all, well unless if u dont hard reset.

Hello people. I just bought a new PDA. HTC P4351. I believe that the ROM on it is out of the date. How can I make sure that it is so? How do I see what ROM version I have, and what is the latest version? I think I will need to update it. But HOW?? I did this on my old T-Mo Wing. It was a download from the

website. And it just asked me to connect the device and it did everything ele on its own. I hope to find something similar for this UNLOCKED HTC P4351. 2. The P4351 is just like the Wing, hardware wise, I believe.
3. You have to get the ROM from HTC America's website.
4. You'd be better off using a third party ROM like the ones we make here. More RAM, more storage space and more programs.

Try one of our ROMs instead.
Read about your SPL first. You must understand the process to prevent bricking your phone.

Are you flashing something MADE for the p4351? If you aren't and you're using:
1. A P4350 ROM (Herald)
2. A Wing ROM (Same as your phone but a different signature.)
3. A Third Party ROM.
Either way, you'll have to HardSPL. Again, READ UP on it BEFORE you flash to prevent bricking it. Find out your SPL and read read read.

Dude!! I'm very very new to this forum and to this world of PDAs. I don't know anything here yet. If I knew where and what to read, and then what and how to install it, I don't think I would be here asking for help. I AM VERY NEW TO THIS WORLD! I had my T-Mo Wing for 2 months before I bought this unlocked phone. I couldn't pass on the offer I got. But this PDA has an outdated ROM most likely. I don't even know how to tell that. And I need to figure out how to update the "ROM" on it. Thanx

I don't want to come out as rude, but this was the result of searching for less than 30 seconds. The thing is that the "main" version of the phone you have is called a HERALD and thus you had to search for HardSPL and HERALD.

Cause if u really need a step by step how-to plus you are not "smart enough" to search for your self in this forum and or the web, then i guess you will brick your phone.

ALL of us, I repeat ALL have been noobs somwhen and wanted/needed to be taken by the hand and helped out, so always try to guide them kindly to whatever they need and they ll be fine. The forum was a bit cleaner and smaller, when I came in, but still with a lot of nice and helpfull guys.
I think a good beginning is to read my noob how to (see signature) and then simply search whatever you need + optimus black in search up in the right corner and you ll get whatever you need

I just couldn't agree more with N00BY0815... We've all been noobs at some point and needed a helping hand to guide us to get a better understanding of what we were/are/will be doing.

i feel you man.
when i came over from htc to samsung,the flashing guides are like all over the place.
no standardization at to how to flash this and flash tat.very very different from htc where once u get an unlocked bootloader,BOOM,u go flashing like no tml with no flash counter watsoever.
samsung??? jeez man,flash counters are like herpes,doesn't go away if u dun know wat to apply.
thats jus my *****ing.but still dude,u still need to read and gain knowledge in flashing custom roms.this is to educate yourself the risk (of bricking) u are getting into when flashing roms.no amount of instructions can help you on that one.you jus need to know what in god's name u are doing.
so i'll do u a favor and point you to reading the flashing guide by dr ketan.no links as this one is stickied for all noobs to read.

Haha yeah man am sick of symbian I just love android but it's hard to get I used to make a custom rom in symbian in an hour and flash it in 2 mind lol

I think that you should go through the threads which are meant for newcomers who want to play with their phone and roms so that you know how to recover your phone if something goes wrong because doing things without proper knowledge can change your phone into a beautiful paper weight.Go through the following thread which can give a clear idea about flashing official ICS for Germany but I strongly advice to think and proceed or probably wait for your country's turn to get official ICS...

I'm afraid you won't be able to flash that rom to your device for some reasons..
1. That rom does not exist
2. Yo gotta read hell a lot before even thinking of flashing a device unless you want to instabrick your device

you don't need to undermine people's capabilities if then can flash or if they will brick their Note.
The fact that the thread is there posted with instructions on it means they know the risk and the consequences behind it. If you say they get their Note brick... then so be it. XDA is a brain pool of helpful people willing to help in anyway they can an to those individuals who presents their problems here.
That's the beauty of having a wonderful community like XDA... People helps if your willing to be helped. And besides, any custom and seasoned flashers out there would know... you can make any much sweeter in flashing and seeing a wonderful custom ROM running on your phone without taking the RISK itself. I'm sure most season devs/flashers have brick their Note at some point in their lifetime.
That's the risk in life. You can't succeed in savoring your achievements... if at some point you don't learn your mistakes and the risks behind it.
Good thing we have quite a helpful bunch of guys here willing to shell out their time in giving expertise to Noobs and members alike.

The problem, as I understand it is that people think flashing is like installing windows and adding software to it, if something goes wrong I will reinstall OS and all will be fine. Do think more then 20% knows that they can make their phone illegal without known it? Flashing and you get a corrupted efs GG then you will never know it if the flash goes well and you will not need to look up your imei! A fast example for how people can get them in trouble.
Many guides if not all are so explained that they think you know basics or leading to other posts saying do that method without informing right, thinking the other post explains everything fine because some steps are so said as everyone knows. If you have a friend who doesn't know **** about flashing let him read CM10 flashing guide and then let him flash your note, or at least to tell you what he could do step by step. I understand what your driving at. BUT, you have to give leeway and freedom to individuals to choose and experience for themselves failures in order for them NOT to commit it again.
Sure there are a lot of misleading informations circulating around, but with proper guidance from some forerunners here, I'm sure those people having problems with can be helped not to commit the same mistakes again in the future right? You yourself have made some flaws before, but where does it lead you now? you become more wary and careful already not to make the same mistakes you've done before, right?
That is why there is a Q&A thread here... for people to ask and for people to give advice to those who are in dire need of helping.
Though I agree some people are just so stubborn to read but hey, at least we who knows better can give an angelic help to those who are trigger-flashers so that they may in turn learn from their mistakes in the future and at the same time, give their assistance to those other noobs... so pretty much it's a vicious cycle over and over again... but hey, I'm glad I am able to part my assistance to those who needs it. At the end of the day, I can sleep with a smile knowing that I have help some poor fellow irregardless where and who he might be in this world.
