FB doesn't switch on HTTPS by default. Google does that from the start. The funny thing is that el Goog is watching all of Zuck's mistakes and they're pouncing on'em. And Google doesn't need to obtrusively intrude upon your web experience to get money out of you.
A win, so far, for Google.

Google is smart i could've cared less about Google+ but since its limited to invites only (for the time being) it makes it more interesting. Kudos google

Hacked my FB.

Ok so all I can say is wow. My FaceBook was hacked. Not much happened just some Comments on BasketBall crap and they called one of my friends ugly but not much. Nobody knows my password. Last time I gave it to someone, it was a disaster. Now they hack me... and nobody knows it? Haha. I changed it. Anything else I can do?

Who loves GOOGLE?

I just realized how much I use google to search for inforomation, it makes me think how annoying it would be without having "google it". So, I want to know anyone else loves Google?
Dont really care much about Google to say I couldn't live without it. I used yahoo or AOL before Google, to me its just another search engine, although its the one I always use first. Does my post make sense? I love Android to death.
Google is the best search engines .
Don't wast your time whit bing.
I love Google.
School kid here, Google litterally has saved my grades tons of times.
yeah, google helped alot in book reports, essays almost everything even calculus lol.

Bing Maps completely destroys Google Maps. Can't tell you how often Birds Eye view saves the day. And the new Silverlight version is extremely slick.
Bing search is pretty good but still not as good as Google for computer related queries. I've come to appreciate Bing's homepage, Google has taken simplicity a bit too far with theirs I think.
I view Google and Microsoft similarly. Both have products that I use all the time and others that I don't care for. But at least Google is picking up the ball that MS dropped in competing with Apple.
Bing got cashback
Lets just say that if Google were a man...I would go gay for him.

Social Networks trying to take over the world?

Have you all noticed that Facebook, twitter, and other networks try to take over the world? Facebook in skyfire now, facebook is everywhere with "like" buttons, Social Networks are forced by freaking Motoblur, people reporting each their step: "I just ate Icecream!" "I just saw some weird dude." "People what to do? I got a ticket!"
Get your butt out of the computer/cellphone and go to the beach watch a sunset! Let your brain free for at least a moment!
While checking email in the morning, I see hundreds of posts from people about what they did on a hourly basis.
So pathetic. After all this I really want to delete facebook and add it to all possible filters.
What is your opinion of such invasion and zombification?
I say xda is better than facebook...

It's only a fad. I remember the days when Friendster was cool and everyone was on it. Then came MySpace, and in that got canned with Facebook. Once FB floats, investors are gonna put a lot of pressure on the management to monetize their assets (users) and this is gonna push the engineers to their peak frustration. They'll start using codes that users hate, and sooner or later a new social network will start, and the cycle begins anew.

Im just getting really annoyed by facebook, twitter, and myspace stuff forced upon me. I install something, there yahoo toolbar forced, or facebook link.
I keep facebook just as an easy connection to friends, but not as my way of life. I go to facebook anytime and i see at least 10 of my friends sitting out there, where 9 out of these 10 post all what they did.
I also loved skyfire, but now its impossible to use it on my Magic at all. Instead of making that, they could have fixed video errors, that happen in 2 out of 3 videos. Plus there were no single movie that I could finish without an error.
Off topic: You guys should have seen the computer at my temporary workplace. It had 150 toolbars installed on IE, Starting from yahoo toolbar and ending with facebook toolbar. All kinds of notifiers and BS, forced on the noobs. Took me 2 hours to clean everything from it, including hundreds of viruses and bs.
It is clearly obvious that the goal of each social network is to capture people as many as possible. Alone I do not blame them. For the most part it is people's fault.
I was growing up in Ukraine, and a computer was something that we did once a month (if lucky enough). We did anything possible, from fishing to exploring... Were out from sunrise till sundown.
Even shared photos and proposed to girls in PERSON. Now people breaking up on freaking facebook, and seek a remedy for their problems...

next step will be lowered monthly bill for web2.0 and raised monthly bill for old web ... naturally most folks will flock to the cheaper web2.0 "becuz thats what they use anyway" and by this happening , slowly will form a whitelist of "big sites" where users have a net id to sign in and u can be moderated , banned and sanctionated . the isp's will be free to push select sites(read :who they get the best offers from) at the users while the truly free internet , where anyone can make their own , and speak out , shall slowly fade away

Actually, it's turning the other way around. The big players were bouncing around the idea of charging users more if they go to popular sites like FB and Google.
IDK why is the Op so facebook/social networks hater,
i dont have any toolbar nor viruses, eventhough i dont use an antivrus software or anything.
i have a fb account and i use it only for people i know... no need for strangers, they are always rejected...

Only room for one social networking site

So Google+ is soon to be released to the public. Do you think Facebook is to big and powerful to fall
Or is Google simply to powerful to fail?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
Facebook is dead. Google has all other smartphone competitors by the gonads now with Google+. G+ will be the prevailing social site and Google will have total control of it and whether they allow competitors to use it. Facebook will be a sinking weight on Google's competitors because of it dying off.
Only time will tell.
Both could exist - it's possible. There are the people who are sick of facebook and that whole ecosystem that want to move to the next best thing. But then there are the people who are engrained into facebook and so are their friends, and they have no motivation to leave it. Its up for grabs really.
Apple users and non geeks will stick to facebook....
The rest of us will use G+ and probably peek at facebook once a day to see what people we dont give a crap about are up to....
Or something....
Edit;
How until we see a social network from Apple??
Ping or whatever that crap was/is called doesnt count as that is obvious fail.....

I got an invite to g+
I tried to get on and got a message saying there is an age requirement. If they keep the age limit too high then all the teenagers will stay on fb and get further attached to it.

I must admit, I thought it'd be a low blow but it was shockingly informative.
Informative? I am not sure that's quite the word I would use...
I really can't say how you could call these "informative".
Why?
Why is Microsoft attacking Google with such vigor all of a sudden? I always liked Microsoft, but lately they're bugging me.
Cool infomercials, but the irony has me laughing. Using YouTube to talk about your competitor? Googles YouTube.

I thought they were funny but why would anyone think Docs is a replacement for Office, from what I've used of it it's pretty much just something to save your work on or make quick changes, I haven't done much with it though

Because android and G-apps threaten their OS.
They fear that google will replace their expensive WIN OS with something free.
You don't have to be an master mind to figure it out.
And google is pretty damn close to achieving this.
I loled. Funny add.
Interesting to see that Google has Microsoft so worried. I wouldn't have expected that. Guess they know something we don't.
Microsofts PC based adverts have been quite good in the past, if you ignore the "Windows 7 was my idea" ones.
Think of the Seinfeld ones where Gates stays with a family.
At a time when Apple was resorting to a petty smear campain against PCs, often using misinformation (a style they've continued to use with iphone and ipad adverts), it was refreshing to see Microsoft not drop to Apple's level.
Even the early "I'm a PC" adverts just showed the variety of people who rely on PCs.
These two are in a similar vein, they're not portraying Google as a big baddy, they're pointing out the failings and considerations of Google's products.
Look at the long list of "next big thing" from Google that they have just switched off.
If a product doesn't make enough money they'll pull the plug.
I'm pretty sure though that if you soley use Microsoft Web Office, if you've got no internet then you can't modify that important presentation, which is one of the flaws pointed out against Google apps. Can anyone that uses MWO confirm that?
^ the thing is, if you have office web apps, you most likely have Office installed on a physical PC.
