Order and Chaos - Xoom Themes and Apps

Just wanted to let everyone know that Order and Chaos seems to be working fine on the Xoom now. Gameloft updated their apk for the game. You are only able to buy the game if you have a support device that is on the list, but if you get the apk and install it on your Xoom it runs with no problems. I have a G2X so i have been playing it on my G2X. I saw that there was a update to the game in the market last night, so i updated and moved the apk from my G2X to my xoom and update that. I played on my Xoom today for about 3 hours and had no crashes at all. You also no longer have you touch under something for it see that you are touching it as well. So it seems the screen problem has been fixed. I just wanted to let every know that the game is now working fine.

the game is really awesome too.

yea I really want this game but even though it will let me buy it for my galaxy tab, I sold the tab so I have no way of getting the APK. Oh well. nothing sucks more than wanting a game and not being able to get it because of something as silly as the gameloft guys haven't updated their market dev side to include the xoom.

3d games on G Tab

I've done all the market hacks and tried all the tricks but im wondering why most of the actual 3d games i want to get to show off the muscle that this great little tegra 2 tablet can flex.
it seems like the games i want on here right now "pocket legend" and "rocket bunnies" don't show up in the market and I was looking forward to "dungeon defenders"
I think there needs to be a big push of actually finding a way to get the full market that my Nexus One gets...
This is mostly why i bought the tablet, and thanks to all the great devs here we've been able to get "almost" everything working (Thanks roebeet, et all)
maybe we can make a nice thread with some different market fingerprints and post market results? (or any other suggestions)
I am currently running the latest Vegantab beta4 fyi.

Well, as the guy who has tried all the market fingerprints and build.prop stuff and wrote the thread on the "full" market fix, I can tell you with some confidence that Pocket Legends and some of the other 3d games are a known issue - I have tried changing every build.prop setting to match that of my Nexus One (which finds those apps with no problem), and there are still a handful of 3d games that will not show up. I have also found that if you change too many of the settings in build.prop, you will eventually bootloop your G Tablet because Android itself gets confused about what it's running on.
You can find my notes on the subject in my posts on my thread in this forum on Full Market Fix.
In summary - the issue seems to be more than just using a different Market Fingerprint. That does not solve the problem, though it may make a few addition or a few less items show up. Right now, by most of my metrics, we have at least 95% of the items in Market showing up.
BTW, I have seen posts stating that the work around for Pocket Legends has been to download directly from their site, though I have not done so myself.
My understanding is that the CyanogenMod ROM for G Tablet does not require the Maket Fix and has no issues with missing items in Market because of the way the ROM image is built. I think the person to ask about this is bekriebel who built CyanogenMod for G Tablet - he can explain the concept of release-keys better than I can and how Market supports it out of the box on the CM ROM.
Unfortunately, it's a bit outside of my time availability right now to work much more on this, having already spent a day or more figuring out what I figured out. But please keep me in the loop if you figure anything else out!
I just thought it would be good to have a good constructive conversation about why else it might not be working... so the build.prop isnt the thing then.
its sad that 3d games are not showing up when this device was built for 3d gaming!
Pocket legends shows up on mine. got it installed...lemme try the other one..
EDIT: Strange they arent showing up anymore. when i was on Cyanogen 6.1 i Had them showing up. then again I didnt have the new market that looks like xbox live. strange...

this is what I'm refering to its so spotty. there is this great drawing app that i purchased that id love to use on the tab called "sketchbook mobile" but its not showing up for me either.
I know there have been lots of people working on it but it would be great if we could somehow compare market search results on some of them to find the best?
also if cyanogenmod has more working downloads is there anyway that the market from cyanogenmod can be rolled into Vegantab?
Dungeon Defenders is amazing its based on the unreal engine and really shows off this hardware.
If we are patient I am sure there will be many amazing games in the future for this CPU/chipset.
I had originally intended to only use the gtab until a good windows7 tab was released but after seeing Dungeon defenders on this system I seriously doubt any windows based tab will be able to come close to this tab for some time and I am sure the cost of a system like that will be much higher.
U need to check out this game to understand what I mean.

Agreed, DD plays perfectly on the gtab. Hopefully this is just the beginning of things to come once Honeycomb is in place and developers start making apps with tablets in mind.

[Q] N64 on a Tablet - Yes, Please?

Okay, I might just be bringing up old news, but seriously who doesn't want old school games on our tablets?
So here goes.. I am taking a flight overseas and need something to do besides movies, music, and angry birds on my 2hr+4hr+8hr flights to get to my destination.
Does anyone know of an emulator for N64? There was one for a short period of time on the market: N64oid by good ol' yongzh. Are there others? Do I just have to wait patiently, hoping for the day N64oid will return to the market?
Now I am not worried about the legal stuff, as I still own three or four games I plan playing on my trip.
Did anyone even try N64oid on the Gtab/Roms while it was out?
Final thoughts: Games I want to play (what were your fav's?)
-Zelda(s)
-Banjo Kazooie
-Starfox
-Mario Kart =D
-Goldeneye
-Turok (<---dare I even say?)
It worked great on my gtab.
I played Ocarina of Time, Starfox, Mario 64 and kart without any issues. Don't forget to bring a wiimote for your trip!
Will game pads work with n64oid. I just played golden eye and it was a pain trying to play by tapping the touch buttons. Still awesome to play golden eye on my gtab!
Roms4droid . Com
Has all of the good 64 roms. I just played golden eye. They have turok, Zelda. Anything you can think of. I downloaded the n64oid emulator v 2.4.4. Not sure if it's on that site but I google it.
I still have the n64oid emulator, but it really isn't playable until they fix it up.
I looked and worked great, however the ROM would crash periodically (every 5-10 minutes). This was very inconvenient so I will just wait until the new n64oid version is released.
Sure seems to work fine for me. Using Vegan 5.1 and pershoots kernel. I use wiimote and have a dock out to my Sony Bravia. Have not tried a ton of games yet, but all in all, it works. Anyone tried the Pcie emulator?

I'm not sure what my problem is then. It depends on the game I guess. MarioKart 64 never crashes, but Ocarina of Time crashed to the select ROM screen as soon as I entered the Deku Tree.
But xmr405o said he didn't have issues with Ocarina of Time, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

That kind of random instability is the reason why it was removed from the market in the first place. There were a flood of 1-star ratings from people with issues like yourself.
Yeah I figured that's why they removed it. It puzzles me how people are running it with no issues though.

What version of the n64oid are u running? There were issues with ocarina before but the last one he put out fixed most of the issues. No issues with the deku tree is all good. It might be the rom too.
the dev told me that he plans on putting it back in the market once fixes are made. funny thing about those 1 star reviews is that he did say in the description that it may not work well on all devices and only some games will work. i have no problem playing Mario 64 on either my nook or my gtab tho the wiimote is prefered than touchscreen. had it on my epic and only got like three games to work. mario 64, zelda orciana, and i believe starfox. the dev is amazing tho and i'm sure he will get things all worked out soon.
if looking for some old school gaming check out his other emulators
What was that latest n4oid version?
I have been putzing around with N64oid version 1.3 and Zelda: Ocarina... it works, mostly. If anyone knows of another version or another emulator app, I could sure use it. I don't know if it's my TnT 4.4 and I just need to upgrade, or if it's the N64oid itself.
Thought I would bump this thread. All of Yongzh's emulators got pulled from the market today and he made the full versions of all of them available for free (EDIT: except N64oid) download on Slide Me. This includes N64oid. I just got it running on my gTab and its beyond awesome.
Here is the link to Yongzh's profile on Slide Me, all of the emulators can be found here:
https://slideme.org/user/yongzh
EDIT: Just checked slide me again and its not free anymore. All the other emulators are but n64oid is $0.30. Oh well.

psx emulator

I just got psx4droid working on my epic on Sunday. Then I switch to nexus and see around that the psx4droid app doesn't work on gingerbread. Upset. I got like 15 games on my phone. Before I download. Does fpse work on gingerbread?
Or is there something else?
Thanks.
Yes FPSE is better than psx4droid and he got very good performance
Sorry for my english
FPSE is much better than psx4droid. Highly recommended.
Psx4droid ran fine on my Nexus running 2.3.3. Just make sure you're downloading the latest version. I actually found it to outperform Fpse out of the box when playing Final Fantasy 7. I guess it really depends on the game.
Well after having some market troubles with the authorizing purchase loop for 3 hours finally got fpse. Works great. Love it.
Psx4droid didn't worm for me on 2.3.4. I thought I had the newest update I dont have it anymore to confirm. I got it straight fom the site.
Psx4droid works fine for me, make sure you're using good bios files, maybe try downloading another bios file and see if that fixes things. Roms run without a quirk as well!
Do you know how to adjust the sensetivity of the controlls? There's no over shoot for the buttons and sometimes it doesn't register the press. Very annoying.

[Q] many games not working with my Xoom. why?

hey guys. my wife got a Xoom last week. i know we're late on the scene but its new to us and we're having a blast. me specially trying games.
I saw somewhere here that Asphalt 6 and Brothers in Arms were verified working on the Xoom.
Asphalt installs and downloads the files, when I skip the intro movie, the game crashes to the launcher homescreen. Brother in Arms installed and loaded the game, but it was all white with absolutely no textures while the game actually played. Shrek Kart (which played beautifully on my Evo) crashes when I try to run it, I don't even see the intro screen or the gameloft logo (it did run the first time and download the files). this is similarly what happens with Let's Golf 2 HD.
Homerun Battle 3D installs and lets me get through the trainer but when I get to actual gameplay, it crashes.
those are the ones I remember. there's been a few others that have crashed and/or not worked.
we have a stock Xoom. since it's my wife she's hesitant about rooting it, so no root, no overclocking, no software changes. updated to 3.1 and that's it.
why are all these games, some of which I've seen comments that they either work fine or are verified to work with tablets and/or specifically with the xoom and don't work for us?
thanks!
It sounds like you're speaking about 4 gameloft titles.
Gameloft in general has had only sub-par performance in the Honeycomb market space so far, with pretty much all of their titles breaking going from 3.0 to 3.1 honeycomb.
To my knowledge, they only officially support the Xoom on like 1 of those games.
That's all I have to add to this topic.
the 4 Gameloft games that are compatible with the xoom according to Gameloft are Spiderman HD, heroes of Sparta, nova HD, and asphalt 5 or 6 HD (can't remember which).
Others may work but if they don't gameloft won't help. They have terrible policies. They don't accept any returns no matter what I.e no matter how buggy their games are. At least if they are supposed to support a device they will try to help, but still no returns. I had them send me a revised apk of heroes of Sparta because the original afficial one didn't work. It took them 5 days but whatever.... I guess.
For a list of HD Gameloft games that have been found to work on the xoom there is a thread somewhere on here. I forget the guys name who started it and is testing them all though. Its like darkLordOfFeces of something like that.
yeah I saw that list...and it's not correct. I think his list is compatible with 3.0 not 3.1.
spiderman hd works only as far as until I beat up the first three bad guys or so in the intro. then it FCs. asphalt 6 downloaded the files but then once I skip the intro movie it closes to the launcher without any message.
ahh i want those two games...although more specifically, Asphalt 6 HD because I don't have any really good looking racing games. I have a few, but none that look as good.

I bought Asphalt 6 and promptly disputed the purchase through Paypal (and got my money back). Some weeks later, they fixed it and sent me a new download link. It does work, but I will never buy another Gameloft title.
Please try out Riptide GT its a very cool water racing game!

hi.. i'm using iconia a500.. although different devices but i've installed this 4 games of gameloft by using xoom installer..
i've rooted my iconia.. and i've facing the same problems like you.. the games force close after few minutes of play..
then, i've recover back to stock rom 3.0.1... and I can play all the games without any crashes!
when I update my stock rom to the OTA 3.1.. again the games crashed as before .. seems that the official rom also causing problems.
I'm not sure whether the problems come from the hc 3.1 or from the gameloft themselves, but this is very disappointing since you need to stay using 3.0.1 to place these games..
so.. you need to downgrade you xoom to 3.0.1 to able to play the game
loft games.
cheers..

The latest, most up-to-date versions of those games are working on 3.1 for me. If you are using an old version, they will not work on 3.1!! You must have the latest updated version directly from gameloft.
The games working on 3.1 from gameloft are, Nova, Asphalt 6, Spiderman, Hero Of Sparta for the Xoom and Brothers In Arms 2 for the LG Optimus 2x.
well since I posted this thread I rooted and moved to Tiamat and now Asphalt 6 seems to be working. only played through a quick race but it's further than I had ever gotten.
spiderman hd also let me play a little more but then crashed to desktop. i'll have to see if the overclocking is affecting it at all.
thanks for the replies.
The problems with gameloft/gameloft games is/are:
Gameloft only moves fast if it is one of the most popular android devices
Everytime gameloft finally decided to update their games a new android version comes out
As long as those are the only issues!

Xoom - order and chaos

Any of you guys playing order and chaos on the xoom? Got it on xoom after pushing the apk from my g2 and let me tell you this game is legit. Very fun game to keep to entertained. If any of you guys wanna party up hit me up. We can play online sometime. Just got a level 10 human mage.
[G2/HTC Vision]
How well does it scale?
Scales perfectly on the xoom. Only problem is you can't download it on the xoom. I purchased and downloaded from my g2 and pushed the apk to my xoom. Works flawlessly on the xoom. Well worth the money.
[G2/HTC Vision]
There is a previous thread on here about how to get it working on Xoom. Must root and transfer backup from phone to Xoom. Using Titanium backup.

I just grabbed an apk off the net seems to work good
