All my contacts number changes sometimes - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm using galnet miui 3.4 but I have been getting this problem since version one.
Sometimes all of my contact number changes to have "-" symbol every 3 digit except last one.
For example, if I saves my contact as 0430123456, oneday it becomes 043-012-3456
This is very annoying because if it becomes like that, when I receive a call or message, I don't get contacts name but only number.
This "-" symbol number system works in Korea as far as I know and I am using kakao talk app which is Korean made and I suspect it.
I think this one or my other app changes my number but I don't know how to prevent it or fix it easily.
Is there any app which removes - symbol easily?
Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

Edit**
I just tried to change number in the phone and I think the miui contact is keeping the number in that format.
Does anyone know how to disable this feature? Thank you

How to change the contacts app to UK version ?

Hi the android contacts app seems to be made for non UK countrys as it does not have a region or postcode option in the address form it only has state and zipcode.
My question is how would I edit this ? .
I've found the same problem when trying to put the post code in for contacts. Does anyone know how to change this?

You can't it is a bug. Work around id to use the Gmail web interface on the pc and then sync. We will wait and see if they fix it.

[Q] How do I change the number aggroupment on dial screen?

Greetings.
Whenever I type a telephone number that I wish to dial, my cellphone (LG Optimus Black P970) separates the numbers in a weird way, e.g:
014-191-234-5678
I have an hypothesis that it's because of the cellphone language, not sure though. I live in Brazil, and here the cellphones usually display the dialed numbers like this:
(041 19)1234-5678
Is there anyhow to change this displaying form? Much appreciated.
Regards, Daniel.
Hum... I guess that's because it is meant to display numbers in the "american way" because it is also displaying like that and I see no options. I'm dealing with that and it doesn't interfer with calling or messaging.
Maybe if you use another app for your contacts it would be like you want ?

I guess I will just have to get used to it... It's better than switching back to Portuguese language.

Recording calls with the SGH-T879?

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note, the TMobile SGH-T879. I have not found an application and/or ROM combination that will allow me to record telephone calls without using speakerphone.
To be clear, I want to record both sides of a conversation on all incoming and outgoing calls without having to use speakerphone.
Has anyone here been able to do this on this particular phone? If so, exactly what did/do you use?
Call recorder app by skvalex. It works straight out the box using cm10 but if you are on a touch wiz rom you must first change the system to r/w before installing. Only downside is it is 10 dollars but is perfect and does exactly what you are asking for. You also need to be rooted.

I have someone else working on the phone for me and I will pass a link to this thread on to him.
Thanks tremendously for your kind help.
I've been able to get nothing to work on a rooted but otherwise stock SGH-T879, which is supposedly different from the i717.

Download busy box installer app by jrummy.. Open app then swipe to the left. You will see an option that asks if you want to change the system to r/w.. Follow the instructions then voilĂ .

I just want to say thanks for the help. After beating my head around in confusion and frustration for months off and on, I gave my guy a link to this thread and he knew exactly what to do. It works!

New (side-effect) problem from this ROM
It records calls just fine; but, a new problem has presented itself. The phone will no longer block calls in any call blocking program's blocked list. I have tried six call blocking programs, one of which worked before the custom ROM.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me?

Problem entering letters in zip code in contact app. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I live in Holland and our zip code contains 4 numbers and 2 letters. In the contact app I can enter the numbers, but it does not accept letters.
Contacts I already had, they have normal zip codes, 4 numbers and 2 letters.
Am I missing something obvious? Do I need to change country settings? Or is this a bug? Or something else?
I would like to hear about your experiences.
