Titanium Backup or CWM Recovery: what's best to backup EVERYTHING?

... but the SMS (I suppose).
What do you think about guys?
I need to backup everything 'cause I have lag + battery issues and I want to flash a new ROM.
If you want to flash new rom then Titanium backup.
It includes SMS too, if you want specific application ' SMS backup Restore' available for SMS.
CWM. That will backup the entire ROM. Titanium only backups apps.

Hmm let me see if I got it right.
If a new ROM flash was successful then I should restore with Titanium Backup, while if it was unsuccessful then I would have to use CWM to have everything back like before.
Correct?
That's correct
Titanium only backups apps and the appdata, while CWM backups the entire ROM, so if anything goes wrong while flashing you can easilly restore without any problems. It can also be used as a second ROM, so if you want to try the CM9 build you can flash that, and when you want to go back to stock or back to the previous ROM you do a restore, and voila! you're back to your old ROM with all the settings and apps.
CWM is "idiot mode". You can't screw it up if you have a NAND backup.
Alright, thanks for clearing things out.
And in the latest versions, Titanium Backup can even restore apps and data from Nandroids (i.e. CWM backups)
Therefore CWM + TB is the perfect combo.
By the way, if you want to backup MMS on top of SMS, best app is MyBackup
I second sms backup & restore. It saves sms into xml format.
I've got a backup question.
How do you backup, flash a new ROM, and restore where you have Desktops setup the same, desktop folders setup and settings setup, but no bad "Junk" from the previous ROM?

Restoring SMS messages

Hello everyone,
I updated to JW4 and of course had to wipe data. Unfortunately I forgot to backup my SMS messages. Is there any way to restore them, despite the fact I forgot to back them up?
i don't think so :/ if you wipe data you deleted all the messages...
Have you got a previous nandroid backup or titanium backup? i think you can restore sms from titanium backups. If you have a nandroid backup, you could restore previous rom, export sms, reflash new, import sms
Sent using TCP/IP
No, I have some backups, both nandroid and titanium, but both are irrelevant. I thought that maybe it was possible to restore SMS messages by digging through system files or something like that...
Hi, just upgraded to jw4 from jvu and all sms messages were successfully restored via titanium backup. Have you got a recent TB sms backup you can use (check the date) against SMS
Sent using TCP/IP
Unfortunately no...

How to restore backup if the Android ID has changed?

I had backed up many apps along with the data using titanium backup and tested few Roms. Now i am back to stock and tried to restore the apps but TB said that my Android ID has changed. I restored my previous ID using TB. But even now i am unable to restore any backed up apps or data. All the apps that i had backed up are appearing in the list with a strike on them but no option to restore them. Is there any way to restore all these apps??

HTC Sense launcher restore problems

Yesterday I made a full Nandroid Backup of my HTC One from the recovery.
The ROM just installed was not working, so I restored the backup.
All the apps were restored without problems except the HTC Sense launcher.
The apps grid in app drawer and homescreens were not restored.
So I've tried to restore only the data for the launcher with Nandroid Manager app, but nothing changed.
Titanium Backup is the only working but for this app I've only a old backup.
Where are stored the homescreens and app drawer data? Which folders does Titanium Backup restore?
Or there is another way to restore data from Nandroid Backup?
When I click on Restore from Nandroid Backup in Titanium it crashes.

don't know about the Nandroid Manager App
but the home screen icons can be restored via Titanium Backup (if backedup by Titanium) within the system apps "HTC Sense xxx (Desktop)"
Yes I know, but in Titanium Backup I've only a old backup. My problem is the recent backup is a Nandroid backup
