[Q] Upload problem - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
I've just received my Galaxy S yesterday. Looks like I have a problem already, I can't upload pictures and videos to Facebook, Picasa, Google+ and YouTube. In notifications, all I can see is that it's on 0% for a while, then retry. Weird thing is, Speedtest runs fine, I can also browse the internet without any problems. I use Wi-Fi only and I have 2.2.1 installed.
For some reason uploading doesn't work with the mentioned apps. I can log into these apps, and I can see my login data is saved in options. Tried reboot and hard reset without success.
What can it be? Has anyone experienced this before? Any solutions or advices are appreciated.

Youtube app "cannot play video"

So I just noticed this today when I tried looking up a youtube video:
I went to the Youtube app and found a video to watch and not even a second after I clicked the video I received the following error:
"Cannot play video" "Sorry, this video cannot be played."
I hit OK and tried another. Same result. I tried about a dozen more... same.
I thought that MAYBE the Youtube Downloader app from the Market messed something up. So I uninstalled it. Same result. Rebooted my phone. Same.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT:
I originally had this issue over a year ago and the problem literally cleared itself back up. So for anyone still having this issue I removed the ***FIXED*** that I had on the title so you can all post your issues.
A little tip.
Please post details such as cache to sd, rom version, phone version, carrier, wifi/3G/Edge and a logcat would be helpful too.
Also list everything that you have done to try to fix the problem (wipe, cache clearing, etc.) so that you can be helped.
Thanks.
I've had the same happen to me. Seems to happen more often when I click a link from another site. When I browse in the Youtube app it seems to work more often.

It doesn't work at all on the Youtube app.
It doesn't work from a site either. The site just prompts me to view in the browser, steel or youtube app. Of course I don't have flash so I can't view it in the browser so my only REAL option is the app (which doesn't work).
Are you sure there wasn't a problem with Youtube's mobile site at the time you tried? I had a problem like this one night, and it was gone the next day.
I just tried it again. Still having the same problem.
Besides, if it was a problem with the site then I'm certain that more people would be experiencing this problem.
i also noticed this problem last night when trying to show this chick an airsoft video of an event i played in.... sure most have heard of it. "Operation Irene III"
it wouldnt play any videos. however, using the youtube downloader app it downloaded the video just fine. and i was able to view the video.
Just putting that out there for you guys
UPDATE:
I just tried it again to see if it would work. Most do now, although I clicked a couple that didn't. It must be a problem with Youtube and not my phone.
Phew! That's a relief.
Thanks guys.
the same thing was happening 2 me last night while i was trying 2 watch a couple of videos on youtube...

I've seen this issue when I had network problems - for example, I had a low wifi signal and the phone was apparently switching between edge and wifi back and forth while in the middle of downloading and playing a youtube video. The error showed up in the middle of the video.
So, it may not necessarily be the youtube website or your phone, but it may have to do with the state/quality of network connection too - e.g. how many packets are dropped, and how the youtube client is able to handle it.
Just checked it out on mine. I'm not having any real problems. I will, of course, post any problems that occur when I see them.
i seemed to have this problem when i had too many apps running, a quick jump to task manager and kill unused tasks seemed to clear it up. also a reboot would clear it up, im thinking it's a memory issue.

Nah. Tried all of that. Taskmanager, reboot, cache clear, you name it. I think it was a problem with Youtube.

Tried it on 3 (THAT'S RIGHT... THREE) different wifi networks, my 3G network and an Edge network. It wasn't a bandwidth problem.
My 3G I was averaging around 500kb/s
1st wifi was over 2000kb/s (@work)
2nd wifi was around 300kb/s (@work)
3rd wifi was about 4000kb/s (@home)
None were able to play any of the random youtube clips that I tried (which were over a dozen).
If you were wondering if I'm persistant... I am!
i have this problem too, there's a way:setting--application--manage applications, then find the youtube app and push the button"clear data".
try it~

Tried it. Didn't work. But it doesn't matter now anyway because whatever the problem was, corrected itself.
Must have been Youtube last night and this morning (2am to 7am PST)
hi
i have an asus p320 and it's sayies "cannot open video" something like that how can i fix this prob.???? can anyone give me a link to the youtube + fix plss??
Ive also had this happen, but always had thought that it was because every youtube fla encoded video might not be available on their mobile site. It seems to happen more often to me if I am trying to play a video that has been uploaded fairly recently...but I gave up on it a while back so havent checked in a while.
youtube This video cannot be played
This Problem because network firewall, I tested at home it work but my office not work, how to open firewall port for youtube app

I searched the forum and didn't find anything so if it's posted elsewhere I didn't see it.

well I feel rather stupid now
So I had this problem, and thought the issue was cyanogen. Turns out I was blocking some obscure process with droidwall that is critical for youtube or media player or whatever. I'm afraid I can't say which process it was, because I just went through and enabled everything that remotely looked related to the system.
update
this happens to my g1 with cyanogenmod 4.2.3 all the time. i've cleared caches, rebooted, wiped, etc
repeatable always. random, but repeatable.
any ideas xda ?

[Q] A couple of issues...

I have had my Tab for a while now and overall am well impressed with it. I have it rooted so that I can use What'sapp but apart from that it is totally stock.
The issues I am having are:
Firstly, when I go to Facebook through Browser sometimes it just hangs. I have tried to attach a picture of what I mean. I have tried clearing cache etc but still it hangs. The only way I have found to get it to work again is to turn my router off and back on. I don't think it is the router that is at fault as it only happens on my tab and not on any phones, laptops or Pc's in the house. Anyone any ideas??
Second issue is, Even though I have flash player installed and up to date some websites say that I need to install flash player to view this video/image.....
P.s. I have a 7310
Any help would be much appreciated....
Thanks in advance
Scotty

[Q] Help with my Wifi!

Hi friends! I'm so happy to be part of this forum now!
Yesterday I got a problem with my kindle fire, and the problem is related to the wifi connection.
The wifi is working properly but there are some apps and web pages that just dont load, for example, I can run the facebook, twitter, and whatsapp apps whitout any problem! But I cant use Instagram neither make downloads on Google Play.
I decided to install the Jelly Bean update to make sure it it was a problem related to OS, but the problem continues!
I think that there is something wrong with my internet connection but I don't know why, I checked it and it's going alright!
Thank you for your help!
Unplug your router and let it reset, then try to get on.
Thank you for your answer! I've tried that a couple of times but didn't work.
I've been reading at the web about these kind of problems and probaby is something related to the DNS, but I don't know what to change!

[Q] Galaxy S3 mini - Cannot run youtube vía wifi -app & vía chrome- (3g ok)

hello I have a problem with my new galaxy s3 mini.
all came running properly but any moment I can not see youtube videos via wfi. I do not know if it fails because of an update.
In 3g functioning properly. This I have tried both in the app or directly through the browser (chrome) and is the same.
By wifi stays loading and played very very slow but when I disable wifi and 3g active and works perfectly.
I tried downgrading the app but it is the same. I've said the problem is not with the app also fails through chrome via wifi. All other applications work fine via wifi.
Please can u help me?.
At this time I deleted all my apps including Tapatalk to rule but still the problem persists, by WIFI does not work.

If wifi works with other apps, have you checked your router? Maybe it just needs a restart.
Hi, thanks in advance for your reply.
Today I rebooted my router and still failing.
Inside youtube app or vía chrome: Suggested Videos load fast and the comments as well, but the video you want to see still loading, plays two seconds and then loaded again. etc. ..
If we turn off the wifi and activate mobile data extremely fast loading video.
PS: All applications are working fine via wifi.
Please help.
At this time I have disassociated my google plus account my youtube account but it has nothing to do. Same thing. By wifi is too slow.

Need some help: phone modified/hacked

Hi everyone! New to actually posting on forums, generally I just read everyone else's posts/responses lol Hopefully this is the proper way/ place to get help. My note 8 (Verizon) started giving me all sorts of problems recently, such as app icons disappearing, loss of connection constantly while using apps like fb messenger, random reboots, loss of permissions, forced bluetooth connections and beaming etc
Tried a factory reset, before restoring or logging in to any accounts I made a dummy account for playstore downloaded root browser and verified it didn't work. Seems like this may be of the local or "hands on" nature...Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
