[Q] dual answering window - HTC Incredible S

How come I sometimes see buttons, and sometimes has to use slider to answer? This is bugging me of totally.
I've had this problem from the start with stock rom to cooked rom!

No one has this problem too? I prefer the slider, and would want that to Always display. Cause when the phone is in my pocket it tends to answer or decline calls

I have the same thing. I believe it's because when your phone is locked, it's the slider. When it's not locked, there's the buttons

There must be a solution to this; I hope. I want to use sliders only, since the phone answers itself when in pocket and the buttons are on display.

Well its the way it is because when it's in your pocket, it should be locked, therefore activating the slider feature... I'm sure there is a way to always use the slider...

The problem for me is that it's answering while I take it up, so I rarely have a moment to see if it's slider or buttons. But when it's on the table it's mostly slider. Hate the buttons. But with an app I use (full screen caller id) I get to slide, but the problem is while answering I have to slide through the app and then either slide again or push the button. Which is killing me... have written to the app developer about this a week ago, with no answer or update. So how do I change so I always use default answering mode as slider??

how to come out of standby by sliding the keyboard out

Ok this may be a dumb question but I have been searching for the answer and can not find it any where. I want to unlock and have the screen come on( comeout of standby) by sliding the keyboard out.
Like when you flip out the screen on the side kick.
I have the 2.17 custom rom by xelencin if that helps.
Thanks
I really want that feature too!
To add a same thing to your question, can i unlock the machine with one hand?
I have smartkey installed but everytime i try to unlock the screen, it said I have to press Unlock, and there is no way to press it with a softbutton, i have to either do it with a stylus or the keyboard....

and leave fingerprint smurk on the screen you mean?
The only problem I could see with sliding to turn on / unlock etc is that the magnetic catch on the standard case would then activate the switch on etc... I'm sure it would be possible to intercept this trigger in some way even when the OS is in standby but I can see issues with the device turning on when used with the standard case...
The screen doesn't rotate when you open the keyboard until aftr the device is turned on, which suggests to me that the position of he keyboard isn't monitored by the device when it's switched off. If this is the case ten it would be impossiblt to have the keyboard switch turn the device on.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yep, pretty sure sliding the keyboard out does not create a wakeup event. It is possible that something like MortSaver could be used to mimic this function - that's a program that turns off the screen and locks the buttons when you press a hotkey - i.e. it doesn't put the device into standby, it just kinda puts it into low power mode. I'm pretty sure that could be rewritten to turn the screen back on when the keyboard slides out. Perhaps if you plead with the author...

Any way to lock screen phone buttons?

Is there a way to lock onscreen phone buttons?
Everytime someone calls, and diamond is in my pocket I either accept or reject call when trying to get it out of pocket.
So can I dectivate touch screen during incoming call?
Is there any tweak for this?
Greets guys
dont own a diamond but a quickfix...get bigger jeans.
No way... too big balls will bounce
resolved!!!
the fastest way to solve your problem is to install s2u2 (slide to unlock) newest version is 1.05 what i know...
so with the right settings when incoming call, you'll need to slide then answer/reject call or setup slide to answer or other.
its great i LOVE IT..
I just installed it... then uninstalled it 5 mins later because it looks GHASTLY!!
To lock the touch screen buttons you simply hold down the End Call button for a few seconds. Or is it the physical buttons that you're trying to lock?
You didn't get it
I want touch screen buttons to be locked DURING incoming call to be sure i wont press them when trying to put it out of pocket.
Even if diamond is locked, when phonecall screen appears, those buttons are ACTIVE and that is baaaaad
and S2U2.... doesn't work!!!
When incoming call, original diamond call screen appears and buttons are ACTIVE - su2u DOES NOT lock device during the call although there's option called 'slide to answer'

You are right: I do not get you.
At least I do not see your point. You want to have the phone locked during incoming calls? - how senseless is that. Especially in that moment I want to have it unlocked to be able to accept it. That is the way all my phones worked.
What do you do, if you get a call and have a your cell in the pocket? I never encountered such problems...
Jeeeeeeeezzzzzzzz !!!
In Diamond one can answer a call in two ways:
1. press onscreen button
2. press hardware button
Onscreen button can be pressed accidentaly while taking out of pocket, pouch or whatever.
So: All i want is to have onscreen buttons INACTIVE while hardware buttons ACTIVE so I can answer call ONLY by pressing answer HARDWARE button.
Tapping onscreen button will do NO ACTION.
Hope now everything is clear, cause my english isn't very good
^^and you made a joke when i offered my quick fix =P
I have the same problem that by the time I get the case out of the case i find that I accidently answered or hung up because I accidentaly touched the screen,I tried slide to answer but it is not working properly on the Diamond
This would be helpful, I have the same problem sometimes.
I'll look for a registry setting.
s2u2 not working?????
if its bad, ugly, or something, put an self image as backgruond, maybee that would cheer u up, im using version 1.00 that dosent got the slide to answer working good(beta), so i turned it of, then it worked great and i can still use hardware buttuns to answer, and if u dont like the apperence just remove background an d remove clock, all thats left is a black screen and the slider...
This thing with enabled screen answer/ignore buttons pisses me off too... May be we can install a new dialler without screen buttons?
Really no one cares?

i don't think it's about anyone caring. i think it's about the diamond being a new device and no one having the tricks/tips/tweaks yet. patience
I understand that. But if nobody care about an issue no one will look for the solution. I would install another dialer but i do not know how to uninstall the existing one.

Be great if you (or anyone else?) could find a hack for this - I have the same problem when taking the phone out of the case. It would solve my (our) problem if only the hardware buttons could answer/reject an incoming call.
Regards,
Gary.
Since nobody answered this thread anymore... Did someone find out? Or did you give up?
I need this badly, stupid on screen buttons always go off
I had the same problem but after i did this I had no problem anymore.
The answer button in default phone skin(WM6) is much smaller so the risk of accidentally reject or answer the call is not so high.

How to stay locked while bluetooth handsfree connected?

Is it possible to tell the Diamond to stay locked with the screen off until unlocked manually while a handsfree is connected? I keep my phone in my pocket while driving and it unlocks itself when a call is in progress and then locks itself again, when the call finishes. But if anything is pressed, and it does if I even move a centimetre, it won't lock back again and will in most cases call back the person I've just had a conversation with.
Is there a setting I'm missing or would an application have to be used?

Use TouchLockPro
I have the same need and tried plenty of solutions, no good so far.
One of them was actually an early version of TouchLockPro, however it lacked an important functionality of treating locking as a mode. It has a "lock on incoming call" feature, but that's not what I need because most of the time my phone is on the desk and shouldn't lock on every incoming call. What I need (and I guess IceBone is with me on that) is just a way to make sure that when the phone is locked - it just stays this way till instructed otherwise...

TouchLockPro can be tuned to your needs, just disable autolockonpoweron and you are in control...
I will check it out.
EDIT: Sorry, but that's completely useless to me. There's a thousand other options that I had to disable, it didn't unlock itself with the power button, it also didn't stay locked on incoming call, even though I double checked I had that enabled, it also puts an annoying white square in the windows status bar, which covers the clock.
All I want is for the phone to stay locked on incoming and outgoing calls. If it can be set to only stay locked only while a handsfree set is connected (the phone does know the difference, it shows a nice little headset icon), it would be perfect.
This is the biggest issue with my TD...
Because of this issue BT headset is totaly useless (if device in your pocket or case).. After incoming or outgoing call need to check device for unwanted actions..
Well, if we get more people requesting this, maybe one of the devs could cook up a quick fix.

The white square is the inidcator that it is locked. The configured foreground and background color are reversed when locked.
I will put a convenience setting (Bluetooth) in the action screen on the wish list, so it will never unlock/lock when that mode is activated by te other unlocking methods. But there must also be way to unlock then. Maybe the Stylus still unlocks, so you can disable Bluetooth mode?

Could you possibly release a cab that does only that? It would be perfect, it's the only functionality I want.

You can use StylusLock, which makes it possible to lock/unlock only using the stylus sensor. This can be used in combination with Bluetooth.
Also TouchLockPro can be used in combination with Bluetooth, but then you need to change more settings, but this is easy too, via the TouchLockAction settings screens:
- Light Sensor: Uncheck "Use Light Sensor"
- G Sensor: Uncheck "Use G Sensor"
- Nav Sensor: Uncheck "Use Capacitive Nav Sensor"
- TAPI: Uncheck "Use TAPI"
- Other Settings: Uncheck "AutoLockOnPowerOn"
Thereafter you can lock the phone by taking the Stylus Out and putting back in within 1 second and use Bluetooth for picking up the phone. If you take out the Stylus, it will also unlock.
But I would still have to take the stylus out if someone called and I wasn't connected to the bluetooth. Or is only the screen locked?

With the settings I gave, you are in control of locking. So if you did not lock the phone via the Stylus Out/In, it will not be locked, also when a call comes in or you power on (or external event) the phone.
From your response, I understood you only wanted locking with Bluetooth:

But of course, you can also use the capacitive touch area for unlocking and configure power on also as a locking means.
Other Settings: Check "AutoLockOnPowerOn"
Nav Sensor: Check "Use Capacitive Nav Sensor"
In the Nav Sensor screen you can fine tune your capacitive unlocking methods.....
Yes, the only thing I want is for it to stay locked until I unlock it manually when BT is connected.

Ok, so the settings I gave you will do that.
But will those settings be disabled when bt is disconnected and the phone will unlock on an incoming call?

Hmm i have the same problem , this sound very interesting. I did tried everything too. Nothing yet. The only solution is that "ZuinigeRijder" will find a fix or an addon. That would be really helpfull !!

It would still require me to fiddle with it when I connect or disconnect. I've been thinking and the light sensor could also be used, lock the screen/keys permanently when in the dark (pocket) and switch to normal when out. I suspect your program can do that as well, but it's just too fiddly with all the other unneeded options. Can't you delete a few lines and make just a simple locker like that? Wouldn't even need to have a status icon like it does now.

Accidental Calls from opening keyboard

Over the last few months I've lost some weight (so most of my shorts and pants are a little big now) and being the type of guy to put his phone in his pocket, I've been getting quite a few accidental calls.
Yes I am locking it 99% of the time. What happens is that I'm using a non-pattern unlock and while its moving around in my pocket my phone ends up opening the keyboard. What does this do? It wakes the screen. A little more tumbling around in my pocket = unlocked! and so on .
Is there a way to disable this? I can't seem to find one. I checked out an app called Confirm Call or something like that and it's just a button to confirm. Since it's just a button and not a pattern it'll just get tapped anyway in my pocket.
I'm trying to avoid using pattern lock as pattern lock make it tough to answer/check the phone at a traffic light or similar situations :-/
I think I've trawled the internet enough to know there doesn't seem to be a real way of doing this as far as disabling slider wake-up, and no dialers seem to use anything other than a Call Confirm button which would just be the same thing all over again, with one extra tap :-/.
There is one but doesn't seem to be able to disable slider wake up in 2.2/2.3 (or just 2.3)
What type of app do you want?
Elaborate what you need so people may help you.
You can try using slider only. Try if you can keep only one letter password and also disable press ok button after entering password.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
What I think would essentially work is an app or way by script that;
Disables slider-open screen wake.
I've searched about this and there doesn't seem to be a way that works on GB, only for eclair and maybe froyo.
In the mean time I've just realised that I could just put the dialer on a different bottom shortcut row . At least it makes it really difficult to make accidental calls but doesn't solve the whole unlocking-in-pocket problem I have and judging by the posts about it, quite a few others too.

[Q] notification dropdown too sensitive

Hi, I have a problem with my sony z3 compact, the notification dropdown dropsdown often with a very light tap.
It's so sensitive that the notification bar drops often by itself by tapping apps buttons which are at the top of the screen (back in gmail, whatsapp etc.)
Try it for yourself by tapping lightly at the base of the "o" on the sony logo.
is this a hardware fault with my unit or does your z3 compact do the same?

I think it's meant to behave that way.
Do you sometimes have the problem where home screens, pictures, etc bounce back unintended when you swipe through them?

I made a video illustrating the issue:
http://youtu.be/YOXADb5NgPI
I suppose it is a software choice rather than a hardware one, however my samsung S4 and my old experia ray don't behave this way. You must slide the finger vertically over a portion of the screen to enable the notification dropdown, tapping would not automatically drop down the full notification screen. To me this sounds like a problem because it makes it hard to click buttons at the top of the screen most as of the time the damned notification menu drops down covering the whole screen.
I searched for an option under settings to change the notification settings but either I can't find it or there isn't anything to change it from tap to slide.
Regarding your question I'm not sure, I don't think so. The only issue I noticed (aside from the notification dropdown activated by tap (really annoying) is the camera:
If you set a lock option and unlock the phone by using the camera icon, and then you change the camera mode the phone locks itself again. Basically the 'unlock using the camera icon' let's you take pictures with the selected camera mode without unlocking the phone, but you still have to unlock the phone to use any other phone feature.

It hasn't bothered me, so far.
Though I just checked on my Xperia Z2 Tablet and it doesn't behave that way on that one. Maybe the Z3C's touch screen is just too sensitive, as a side effect of the technology that makes the glove mode possible?

Has this never happened to you with this phone? Mostly when using it with one hand only.

No it hasn't (but I need to pay more attention when using a single hand, will get back to you ). I tend to use two hands because, being the device so smooth I need to be careful and fight gravity quite a lot, I managed to almost drop it two times as it tends to slide from my hand

Same
I have the same Problem with the sensitive notification menu... just lightliy tap anywhere close to it and it springs down and covers the whole screen. Coming from iOS where these things weren't even an issue, it's very annoying. It's currently the main reason why I want to try a different ROM.... Problem is I'm somehow unable to unlock my bootloader, and even then I'm not yet sure how to change the ROM. Damn, on iOS things were so simple... jailbreak tool, go to cydia, customise everything however I want....

Not sure if this will solve your problem, but you can check out All In One Gestures from the Play Store and activate tapping the status bar to do "nothing" by leaving it blank.
Edited: N/m, just tried it, didn't work. Still a useful app though! I'm using it for full immersive mode, so that's kind of another way to solve the status bar problem.

I gave it a go and it didn't work either, sony must do some lowerlevel tweaking to the notification bar.
I hope they fix it soon
Another sony dumb crap that I hate. It's so damn sensitive that it pulls down every time I use the phone to my ear. Sometime some quick settings activated and I had no idea wtf happened.
Dumb fuc.k sony is so annoying. Even my Z3C is rooted, I haven't found a way to disable this crap. Full of crapwares, cheap crappy glass and display, now this. Seriously all sony engineers and designers should just eat shi.t and die.
I thought I was alone in this. I've become fed up in call pull the phone away from my ear and it activates the pull down. Sigh.
