[Q] MicroSD support up to 32GB? - Motorola Droid 3

I have noted that everywhere I see Droid 3's specs I see text: "with memory card, storage is expandable up to 32GB."
Is this correct? Did this phone support only max. 16GB cards?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App

The SDcard slot supports a 32GB micro SD. I have the 32GB that came with my Tbolt in mine.

using 32gb in mine too.

Anybody have suggestions for a good high-class 32gb microSD card to purchase? Currently have a 16gb class-2 from my Original Droid so I'm definitely looking to upgrade.
Was looking at this ADATA one on NewEgg. Model #AUSDH32GCL10-RA1. Any ideas? Thanks!

What do you mean by "Class 10 incompatibilities"?
Would the suggestion be to go with a Class 6 until the 10s are better?

I kept the 32gb micro sd card from my droid charge, works amazing in the d3!

Yes but i have a question. I have a 16GB kingston class 2 sd card. Where do you actually see the difference in speed?
I opted for two class 10 16gb cards off Ebay, Write:14MB/s, Read:17MB/s

Well the difference is the speed of the read/write, with class 2 its possible of speeds around 2mbps i think where as a higher class card is capable of much higher which is good when transfering files (especially custom ROM's) to the phone. Also browsing through music tahts on the SD is faster.

Are you sure that they are real? At that price they kind of seem too good to be true :/
get 16GB .. it's enough, and if not get another 16GB , buying 32GB is just waste of money :/
i ended up with a transcend 16gb class 6

I ordered Lexar 32gb class 10 microSD card from Lambdatek in the UK.
Took a while to get here, but they had the best prices, and the SD card is really worth all the money. Getting read / write spead at 18 / 10 mb/s
A big improvement over my former class 2 SD card and works great for full HD video recording, which was what I was going for.

I know a Class 2 wasn't bad. I'm sure a Class 4 will be fine. I currently have a Class 10, so I cant comment on this card specifically.

Recommend me an SD card.

I'm on a budget here, and I'm looking for an external SD to place all my media.
Thing is, I don't need to have amazing transfer speeds from PC to card.
I just play media on phone, and I don't frequently take videos on my phone.
So what's the best card for me? I suppose class 10 cards aren't a necessity for me right?
I bought a SanDisk 64GB Micro SDXC from Amazon for $45. Don't know what your budget is so it is hard to recommend something.

I totally agree.
Whatever your budget and size-need is; make sure you buy a card that is class 10. Class 4 are too slow for files transfers; they're good for the normal reading of audio and video files but the transfers (in and out) are just a pain-slow...

WOAH! Anyone have any experience with any of these Sony SD cards? Looks like they're priced to move...
I heard eg class 6 performs better than class 10 in some scenarios.
Is class 10 always the way to go?
I've had a class 4 kingstone micro sd card and it worked extremely fine with media files .. I think class 10 just for media is a little bit far
Sandisk 32 gig class 10 is $22 on amazon. The class 6 is a couple dollars more. You won't need the higher class for what you are doing. Just for basic pics and music a class 6 is fine. Also I advise against the 64 gig if you are using CWM recovery and/or a aosp ROM. They aren't friends.

What size sd card should I get? Would 2gb be fine?
If you're gonna be installing a lot of software you should probably go with 4+. I believe 2 is sufficient if you have it on hand

Yes I just got a sandisk 16GB Extreme Class 10 45MBPS for 17.00 prime free shipping
Also RPi has a micro SD card adapter, so I am using my old micro SD card from old phone. They are available at adafruit.com or ModMyPi.com. they are cheaper at adafruit.com

The minimum size SD card I would recommend is 8 GB, also check out this list of SD cards that are known to work well with the RPi and this list of SD cards to avoid and that are known to cause problems and not work.
I think 16Gb 10class SD card is best of speed*size/price.
I looking on sandisk extreme 8GB. But I've read that rpi with some kernels have boot problems with some really fast cards.
Sent from my LG-SU660 using xda premium
I you are pretending to really use the rPi as a "real computer" everyday, install softwares, development kits, etc I would recommend a 8GB or more SD card, they are not expensive(as a guy said, a 32GB card will cost less than 30 bucks in USA. This is difficult here in Brazil, today I bought a 8GB MicroSD card for 30 dollars). If you want to use the rPi for small things, Chrome OS or something like that I think that a 4GB card will be fine.
I Picked myself up a couple of these at the start of this year, Class 10's and on the known Good List and only 20GBP at the moment, which is a bargain. Now all I need a RaspPi to go with it

You can be happy getting the 512MB version then, so waiting isn't that bad.
OT: 4GB ist enough for almost everything, but then its recommended to mount /home onto an external drive for storing user data.

Recommendations for micro sd

My 16 gig kingston filled up quite rapidly after 2 weeks so I'm looking in getting a 32 or 64 micro sd but not sure what I shall get.
I see theres sdhc sdxc but not sure whats the differences.
I read theres issues with sandisk so I was thinking of either samsung lexar or kingston.
Also does the note 2 use the class 10 cards to its fullest as in its max read/write speeds?
I've read its pointless paying extra for the class 10 cards since the note2 dont use it to the fullest
Thanks in advance for any replies

sandisk 64gb class 10
The Note II can use a 64 gb sdcard. I would only use a class 10. Its way quicker tranferring files, or taking videos. Also you can use SD-Booster. Download from the Play Store. Its free. You can tell the sdcard at what speed to be ruiing at. 2048, 4096, etc, etc. Phone must be rooted to use.

I have and currently use the ScanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC class 10 card. I haven't had, or at least noticed, any issues while using it. I just formatted the card right away when I installed in the phone.
You may want to install directorybind. I believe you need root. A lot of app install on the phone's storage, not on the SDcard. So you may want to check if your card or phone storage filled up. Other than that, I would suggest moving pictures and videos off your phone if you have a lot.

I've been using a Lexar 32GB Class 10 Micro SDHC card for many months. Both in the Note 2 and previously to that in an S3 -- no issues ever. No crashes, no unmounts, no corruption, etc.
I got mine when amazon had them for $40. I got two. One is in a tablet, no issues. The one in the GN2, I originally put in my Evo 4G and it worked fine; it couldn't get class 10 speed, but worked very well with Boot Manager
