How can I pair a Bluetooth headset? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got a Verizon tab and am trying to connect to a Bluetooth headset so I can make video calls with Fring or something else with a little more privacy than using the speakerphone.
I can't get the tab to find the headset!
I have successfully paired with a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, and the Jawbone Jambox. While the audio out on the Jambox works fine, the built in mic does not work for speakerphone calls with the tab either.
Anyone have any idea what I can do?

Refer to the headset menu to perform a hard reset on it (on a nokia headset this done by simultaneously pressing power and action buttons till it alternates its LED between red and green). Activate the bluetooth on the tab and make it discoverable. In bluetooth setting scan for devices till the headset appears.

I have a TMobile tab with the same problem. It connects to my btooth antenna, but not my two btooth headsets.

My headset bluetooth also facing the same problem. I read the manual and it say i have to press the answer button for more than 8 second as a hard reset to the headset. Later my tab can detect the headset.
You should read the manual and try to do hard reset to your headset
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App

Can't seem to find out how to reset the headset. Nothing in the manual or Google (it's a Samsung HM1100).
It's weird - the Astro Bluetooth network shows the headset in its Bluetooth explorer but the GT will not even see the device to pair to.

Firstly you open bluetooth under setting, wireless & network. Press scan for bluetooth. Result, it will not show any bluetooth found. Press back button once only. And again open bluetooth setting. Then you will see all bluetooth devices already detected.
This is a bug. I happen all the time to me.
Please try it

There is no quicker option? Somebody with iphono mini get it connected automatically when open both bluetooths?
Many thanks!

I dont have always bt on, anyway the problem is that when I power up the bt headsets they don't connect automatically, I have to do it manually.
I have the same problem and have the iPHONO mini headset. The headset works great but only works once! Once the BT is turned off and the headset is turned off, the wizard of course reverts to playing music through the speakers. However, once BT is back on and the headset is back on, even though it works for calls, the wizard does not play music through the headset. You have to go to BT settings, uncheck the "Wireless stereo" option, hit save, re-check it and hit save. As soon as you hit save the second time, the headset works fine again.

I, too, am having this issue with my iPhono Mini. This headset worked great and as advertised with WM5, but after upgading to WM6, you have to tell the handset that you have a headset everytime, all over again.
I've loaded BT fixit cabs from various areas on this site with no help.
Can't someone look into this? It worked before, WM6 hosed it.
Thanks!
i had it but i use a tekosoft a2dp toogle it works great the problem in the lag is solved with a post in the universal section
you make a dword value in
hklm/drivers/bulit in /bt2snd
as priority 256 with the value 60 soft reset and make your iphono blow up your ears
cheers

Problem with BT headset

This may have been talked about before but my search didnt come up with anything so i thought i'd ask
i have a sony bluetooth headset and when i make and recieve calls it works fine
when i listen to music it comes out of the speaker on the phone
i guess this is a known 'problem' .. is there a setting somewhere i need to set
thanks in advance guys
To get standard audio thru the headset it has to support Wireless Stereo otherwise it will only work as a voice command/phone unit.
If you have a BT headset such as the Promate PM-2006 (which looks like a small pair of headphones with a mike) when paired to the phone it will show two profiles, 'Hands Free' and 'Wireless Stereo'
To set up audio thru this headset you go to 'Settings' 'Bluetooth' 'Devices', hold the stylus on the paired device you want to use and select 'Set as Wireless Stereo from the small drop down menu.
yeah i have both wireless stereo AND hands free selected .. thats what was confusing
Just to be sure...
You need to select both profiles when you first pair it.
But every time you want to listen to audio through it you need to go and select it for 'Wireless Stereo'. The phone then connects to the headset for that purpose.
Hope that's clear.
cheers .. i'll take a look at that ..
seems a bit crap tho eh??
Same on all windows devices, you have to tell them to play the audio through BT whereas a phone is listening for a headset.
True, a quick connect button would be much more help and I am sure if you search around you can find one.
ive got a paitr of motorola ht820's they just automatically pair up and sort out the myusic and calls when i turn bluetooth on however, they dont play nice when wifi is turned on

Bluetoothe stereo headsets not in media audio

i want to report an issue/bug that i've encountered yesterday when i purchased jabra bt620s bluetooth headset for listening music and making phone calls with my magic with ION rom.
when i connect the paired headset with the bluetooth enabled from before, the device only connects for a few seconds in MEDIA AUDIO mode, then remains only in phone audio mode, i have to disable and reenable the bluetooth on the magic to full connect the headset. annoying.
inf instead i enable the bluetooth on the device after that i've powered the headset on, the connection is full from the beginning....
result: i cannot let the bluetooth on in my magic.. because it's useless... i have to go then in preferences, wireless, bluetooth settings, ecc, ecc anyway =(
anyone with this problem?!?!
do you thik this is an ION ROM problem or bug?!?
try holding down the tap on the device in bt settings. then select to connect to media only. this works with my G1.

[Q] Bluetooth issue

I have a Plantronics PLT_K100. It is a Blutoothe speaker phone/fm transmitter. I can't get the incall audio to work. Media audio is fine. I did hit the bluetooth button on the in-call screen. All the bluetooth profiles are active and turned on.
Any ideas? Is this a known issue?
I just received a replacement for my Jawbone Era but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I've been using my Plantronics Calipso BT headset and pairing it with my D3 for work, and it's been working like a champ. Note it doesn't connect automatically when I turn on bluetooth. I always have to go into networks and tap the "Connected by not paired" selection.

can anyone help me with the Bluetooth

Hello I am having trouble connecting to my Bluetooth headset SonyXb50bs and also my car Bluetooth. First time when i connected it paired and got connected automatically but now that the device is paired I cannot connect it shows in the paired devices list but when I tap on my Bluetooth headset in the list nothing happens. In my old phone Moto g5 I used to tap on my Bluetooth headset name in the paired list and it used to connect but in this nothing happens. Very frustrating.
I think as of now no one faced this issue but I wanna share the solution in case somebody faces this issue.... I called up their tech support and lady guided me through some steps which fixed the problem. So if you're not able to connect to paired headsets or car stereo you just need to go to reset settings and reset network settings once then restart the phone and then you should be able to connect to your Bluetooth devices.
