3-wire Wired Headset Compatibility - Xperia Play Accessories

Has anyone found a wired headset that works with the Xperia Play? My R800at tells me Accessory Not Supported when I insert my iPhone headset.
I got my phone secondhand, so if there was a bundled (unique) headset, I did not receive one.

I used a Samsung JET (S8000) Headset with it and worked just fine...
also the Samsung S5630 (tocco?) headset worked ok, but i Think you can't use the answer button on it... (too bad)
anyway I purchased a BT Headset... MW600 and IT WORKS GREAT for Music, handsfree and gaming... also FM Radio (which the PLAY lacks and my older samsung phones got)
Regards

My blackberry stock headphones work with the xperia play.

The iPhone uses it's own custom thing. Everything else should be cross-brand compatible

Bluetooth stereo multipoint

Does anyone know of any good BT multipoint stereo headset? They have to be both - multipoint (2 phones, not like hbh ds970, wneh there can only be one phone and 1 audio device) and stereo. I want them to be discrete, that means with in-ear headset. So far the only headset I found that might do all this in hbh ds980 (but am not exactly sure if it connects to two phones). Are there any other to compare?
Use Jabra bt5020
Best noise reduction headset with multipoint is Jabra BT530 and only UKP30 from Play.com
These are both mono headsets. I went ahead and bought jabra 3030.
Try using Jabra BT8010 stereo head set, it works great with my X1 and Kaiser harmonically. One drawback is the poor fragile earhook design though.
Question on the BT530; can one use it with 2 mobile phones simultaneously? I have my X1 for personal use and a mobile from my employer and would like, when in my car, to pair and take calls from either handset without having to switch/pair/reconnect etc.
Is this possible?
Thx!
(have also looked for dual sim solutions to accomplish having 2 acitve sims in my X1, but that seems to be impossible)

I bought exactly that headset for a few buck on e-bay. Works great with my X1i. I'm happy with it!

that's what I'm planing to do....so the buttons work correctly, what ROM are you using...
I'm currently using Shady's 23133 build. The buttons work correctly as to adjusting volume and changing song back and forward.
If the big Bluetooth button in the middle is double pushed I believe it makes a redial of your last call.
Have you bought it yet?

I'm going to try the Sony Ericsson MW600, so I'll give you some feedback in a few days
Nokia BH503
Hi!
I recently bought an X1, and got a Nokia BH-503 stereo BT headset. But got some problems, and dont know what to do with it, cuz this is the first WM phone i ever got.
Problem is:
Pairing the phone with the headset is smooth, and fine. But when i try to listen to music, the phone speaker starts the music, not the headset. I have to go to the Setting-Connection-Bluetooth, and refresh the device information. After that, i have to tick the headset option and save. Than everything goes well....till i try to stop the music, through the headsets dedicated buttons. I press the play/pause button and the the phone screen unlocks. Thats a problem, when its in my pocket...
I use the latest 826x ROM, manila 2.5.20161332.0, WM 6.5.3 build 23676.
Any idea how to solve that annoying problem?
THX
PS: Sorry for grammer, or composition mistakes, im not a native english.
Hi! As I mentioned some days ago, I have purchased a Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset, and after 2 days of use I have to say that this device works flashfully on Xperia X1: Sounds great and works fine; so if you are planning to buy one of these devices, the MW600 is a very good option!!
P.S. If you have some Q about this device, post here and I try to answer you.

[Q] Bluetooh Controls

I have a Jabra BT3030 and paired it with my Galaxy S.
Stereo sound works fine, but my gripe is that none of the bluetooth controls work (back, pause/play, forward). I tried this with another headset (altec), but is still doesn't work. The volume controls work fine though.
Has anyone experienced this?
Is this an android limitation or is it just with the Galaxy?
btw, my firmware is JM7 in case it might be with the firware...

The buttons work fine on my platronics bt. Wait for froyo official as its said to have improved bt headset features
working fine with
Jabra BT8010
Motorola HT820
my car CZ509
and a few other older BT stereo headsets from Sony, Plantonic, etc
I'll suggest to pair it again.
the controls are usually 1 touch for pause/play, double tap for skip next, unless it has its own buttons for that, and... well lots of other combos depending on the buttons setup on the headsets
@allgamer
paired it again and still a no go. it has its own buttons for play/pause, forward, back, volume, answer. basically, its a bluetooth module where i can plug my own earphones.
it's working flawlessy with my omnia hd.
do you know what bluetooth profiles our galaxy s supports?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
not exactly, but i do know it supports all the standard stereo, a2dp, avrcp, file transfer, contacts, GPS, phone calls, the only things not supported are HID mouse and keyboard
hmm... something doesnt add up... maybe the rom since i havent tried it with prev firmwares. i'll try pairing again.

I have the same issue. Use SBH650 bt. But it appears only in standart player. I also use Ambling Player for audio books and it works fine with it. My firmware is JM2. Re-pairing doesn't solve this issue.
I'm using Sony Ericsson MW600 & DS980.. both seems fine..
still no go for me... seems the answer/end key does work, as well as the volume keys. so only my playback, fw/rew key don't work. but when i press them, the screen lights up and the touch buttons light up too. i'll try experimenting with a diff player and see if it's just with the samsung misuc player.
OT: DaRkMyk, where'd you get the SE MW600? I've been looking for that for a while now.
MW600 and Galaxy S
I see that a few people use the MW600 with the Galaxy S. I recently bought a MW600, the device is paired to the phone, plays music fine with all the controls working. It is also the default calling device. And this is where I have a problem, when I make or receive a call the called/calling party can hear me clearly but I can't hear anything. I have turned up the volume to max, I have also reset the MW600 and repaired it with the device, turned off the wi-fi on the Galaxy S,. Basically tried most of the solutions that are available. Has anyone else had this problem. I tried the MW600 with some other phones (Nokia X6) and had the exact same problem.
@aridoasis I bought mine here in singapore for S$118. I don't know if it is available there in the Philippines, but you can always buy from eBay & it's also cheaper.
@sandsri I never experienced that problem, have you tried your MW600 on other mobile phones?

[Q] Galaxy S plays music via blutooth

Hi guys,
I've just bought a new common Jabra blutooth and it works well on call, but I really want to know if there is a way to play music via my blutooth. I found that iPhone is able to play music via blutooth by jailbreaking, but I just can't get any helps from google and etc...
If somebody here knows the way, please tell me. Thanks a lot.
which model of Jabra did you buy?
only the Stereo version of Jabra will support A2DP and AVRP from Bluetooth to play audio, and remote control
working perfectly fine with my Jabra BT8010 and car stereo CZ509

It's BT125 sth...not sure, but it's cheap though. Anyway, I believe it can be used to play music
ya that headset doesn't support a2dp so i don't think its going to work.
I've got the Jabra BT620s - had them for a few years now, works great on the SGS, it supports A2DP & AVRP, when a call come in the phone pauses the music and the headphones switch to headset mode (ie phone mode).
Now the HTC had issues, some ROM worked Stereo, some worked headset, but I never had one which did both

headset for xperia play

My Thread in Q&A was deleted i guess because it was the wrong place to start it.
so i try here and hope its ok,
does anyone know about the compatibility of the Play to other headsets?
i'm not sure what you really mean but as long as your headphone has 3.5mm jack then it should work..
Anything with a mic other than the headphones that are made by sony ericsson and are compatible with the play (livesound etc) may bug up.
calls wired - only sony ericsson headphones work guaranteed
others have a roughly 25% chance of working most dont
bluetooth - as far as im aware all bluetooth headsets work
(note: my official xbox 360 headset works fine its the new mw3 model (got it on sale for £30 same as the old))
music (no microphone attached) - my sennhieser headphones work great with no problems but ive head people say other headphones dont work or suffer with problems my guess is a decent pair should work when pushed in correctly as it doesnt use the microphone part of the jack which i believe is using a minus voltage to make it so only SE mics work

There's a converter that will make mic'd wired headsets work with the Play. I don't know why they did that. Converter is only a few bucks.

basically the android requiremnts are that it uses a 3.5mm jack as standard for audio headphone output so it cant be any of the old propriety types where every company was different and unique. so to make it so you could only use there headphones they use a different voltage at a minus level for voice.
i believe this is what has happened from what ive read about the android requirements and the logical thinking of SE trying to make you give them more money
