[Q] Change camera shutter sound - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I recently installed Froyobread v22 on my x8 and now I want to change my camera shutter sound.
Anyone knows how can I do it?

The sound is located in system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg
Replace that with the sound you want but keep the same name. I don't know if it works with other audio formats. Maybe you should convert it to ogg first.

I disabled camera shutter but what about...

that short beep when you press the camera button to tak e a picture before the shutter sound? I went into the media/audio/ui folder but I see no sound file to rename/delete for that phone sound. Does anyone know where I can find it?
thanks!!!
rename/delete all starting with cam that would fix it i guess not sure
Nope, there is no CAM files now. My phone is rooted and I deleted the shutter files for good. There doesnt seem to be any files listed regarding that sound

Nexus 4 sound recorder fix!!!

Hi! I want to make thread because mic issue is annoying. It is impossible to fix without kernel modification but there is another way. You can use Hi-Q mp3 recorder with raw audio input. It is best for sound recording. All you have to do change input mode to raw audio and enjoy clean and crisp sound!! I also recommend to raise db value to max to have more gain in mic! Good luck
Nice try, Hi-Q MP3 Recorder developer.

[Q] adapt sound has no effect?

i have gone through the beeping test, and the adapt sound preview has a very noticable sound difference... however, when i use the stock music app, turning adapt sound on and off has no effect
likewise, turning the 'music' option in the adapt sound settings on and off does not affect the sound
one more question, are 3rd party apps e.g. Youtube not able to take advantage of adapt sound?
::edit:: more info, i was using both the rom that came with the phone, as well as updated it to MH2 , did factory resets, etc , and adapt sound still doesnt work outside its own preview
I think so.

For now if you wanna listen music just use MIUI ROM because for now, most custom rom have a bad sound bug if use headphones uses jack port. For Bluetooth i don't know tho, i never use a Bluetooth headphones before so i can't tell, but i think the bug will affect Bluetooth too.
There is a great sound mod called "Ainur Sauron"
Here is the link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
You just have to flash it, no need to setup anything else
I don't think it is compatible with MIUI
So you can try flashing it on a custom ROM
I've been using it for a while now, and my audio output improved greatly.
Hope this helps

Are you on earphones when the volume lowers? If so, maybe the V4A setting called "auditory system protection" causes it. Also, disable notification sounds/enable silent mode while you are playing music, or change the Poweramp audio focus setting (Poweramp -> settings -> audio -> untick Short Audio Focus change)
I used to have the same problem as you, when I was using Xtreme music mod and Dolby Atmos.

Can i flash this over dolby atmos? I need louder sound quality especially for dialogues through speakers. Dolby is already doing a great job. Should this one do any improvement? Or should i uninstall dolby and flash this? Need louder sound on speakers

This mod is compatible with all other audio mods, but make a backup of your system in case anything goes wrong. Try flashing it over your Dolby
I tried flashing Ainur first then Dolby, the Dolby app crashed.

Stereo sound test --- APK test?

Hi, I was wondering if exist any kind of APK file, to just test how it sounds a stereo mod. The apk will reproduct a song (anyone), but will reproduct the high freq on the call speaker, and the low freq on the main speaker. Does exists an APK of that kind? And if it doesn't, can anyone make one? I don't really know if I want to unlock the bootloader for that.
