[Q] change digital touch hd2 - HD2 Accessories

hi all
i would like to change the digital touch screen of hd2 but , i see different thread that ther are 2 models of hd2.
somesones know how recognize the model of hd2 in the ail to change ditigal touch screen of hd2 (hd2 french) ?
thanks

digitizer touch hd2
are there anybody who change the digitizer touch on the hd2 orange operator ?
because i would like to know if the type of digitizer is with solder or without solder ?
thanks for all

TMOUS version
I've changed out the digitizer on a Tmobile USA HD2 and it was not that hard. Just be very carefull when separating the LCD from the Digitizer. Look online for instructional videos. I am not sure how much difference there is between the US version and the European version. I also did my wife's nexus one digitizer which was significantly easier. BTW niether broken screen was my fault!

LCD Replacement - Any idea? Price?

Hi there. I have a big problem with my Diamond.
Today a little bug in the middle of the LCD compared out.
I know that HTC do not cover with his warranty the LCD replacement and it cost 200€ with HTC.
Does anyone know a no that expansive way to replace the LCD? Maybe a stone on the net with this spare part and a tutorial on how to disassemble and re-assemble the HTC DIAMOND?
Any help will be appreciate.
Thanks.

T-Mobile HD2 glass/digitizer Question.

I dropped my hd2 facedown onto a rock on my driveway. It shattered the screen from top to bottom. Otherwise the phone is in perfect condition, no scratches or chips from the fall and the lcd is fine too.
From what I've concluded, getting the lcd/digitizer/glass pre-assembly would be my best bet as the digitzer is glued onto the glass and the flex is soldered onto the lcd.
SOOOO my question is, where is the best place to get this but more importantly, is the lcd/glass assembly different for the T-Mobile (USA) HTC HD2 than the UK (I think) HTC HD2. I read somewhere that the T-mobile HD2 is slightly taller but I didn't know if that made a difference for the LCD assembly.
cnn.cn has 2 different shells for the T-mobile and other HD2 but not seperate LCD assemblies.
Thanks
Also, the phone seems to respond fine, but sometimes, it seems to freeze...well not freeze but the screen doesn't respond but buttons do. Could this just be the inconsistincy of the glass and the digizter screwing up the response or did I otherwise jack my phone up somehow?
thanks again, this site has been a lifesaver so far as this is my first windows phone.

check this site out, it has the Touch-Screen available for order, although it's currently out of stock, ... http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/HD2-Spares.htm

if your still looking for one, ebay is good.
depends on what color
there is white and black
check for which ones fit with yours as the cdma and gsm ones are slightly different
and check if it comes with a digitizer or not
preferably a new one
key words: htc vogue
and then 'housing' if you can't find any

[Q] new digitizer doesn't work

I bought and installed new digitizer and it won't work. I did hard reset and also ran align screen via Pocket Controller-Pro. What can be wrong?
thanks in advance
and me.. I bought a new digitizer cheap, is working but when you cross the finger along the screen you hear a sound in the digitizer and the touch is not responsible as the old.. so i have to buy a new one ''original''..
Hi iasi_me
Where did you buy original digitizer and how much did you pay for it? I bought my on ebay.co.uk and i was told it's original (OEM).
I found here in romania a little gsm store and i pay about 21 euro , but be careful if it's cheap is perfect visual but not perfect functional, (sorry I don't speak very good english)
but go to a gsm store and ask somebody to help with the problem
Hi Buddys,
and often you have to look closely at the little "Flat-Cable". Cheap new Digitizer are a littebit different as the Original one. When you install the little Flat-Cable" you have to turn theses maybe 180 Degrees. Otherwise when you use your new Digitizer the Touch-Response is complete wrong. e.g. you type on the Digitizer "in the upper Part" the Digitizer told the Diamond 2 PCB it´s in the lower Part ( and there on the other side ). This is the Indicator for this 180 Flip !
Everytime when you install a cheap new one you have to put the 4 Pin SMD-Connector correct. This means--->The 4 Pins have to show to the PCB like the Original HTC-Touchscreen.
Here´s a Picture from the Original Digitizer:
://mperlitsch.hintergrundbild.com/htc_diamond2/BILD11.jpg
If the cheap Digitizer shows the 4 Golden Pins to the Sky, turn this Clone-Digitizer 180 Degrees and be very gentle, because the Flex-Connector is very sensitive. Here a Trick: If you have this kind of Digitizer you have to connect that Connector before (!) you put the PCB Back in Place. After Connection und Locking the Cable in Place with the SMD-Connector you have to Turn only the PCB 180 Degrees and put this wired in Place.
If you need more Fotos and Instruction for Replacing a Diamond 2 Touch look here:
://mperlitsch.hintergrundbild.com/htc_diamond2.htm#Touchscreen
There is a Big Section and a lot Pictures for Replacing the Digitizer ( it´s in German, but Pictures say more then 1000 Words....sometimes ;-) correctly and safe...
So long,
Michael
Thanx Michael for such a great and very helpful site. I turned the digitizer connector 180 degrees and it didn't help. I think i'll need one of the original digitizer from htc.
