I have a Vodafone version of this phone. I think the previous owner messed about twith the SPL because when I got it, it had a generic ROM on it.
Anyway I've tried several Android versions found in this forum and all of which work fine except for Wifi. Yes I have enabled Wifi in Winmo before booting into Android.
What happens is I can enable Wifi in the settings, it then sais "scanning" where the on/of tick is (not below where the networks shoudl show up). It stays like that for ever. If I enable/disable Wifi a few times then after a while it sais "Error" where it said scanning before and doesn't allow me to enable Wifi anymore.
What could be the problem?

Well... hum. Did you read the FAQ?
I just realized that's in the RHOD section of the FAQ, so perhaps you missed it - and originally I thought that was a RHOD-specific issue, but perhaps it's more than just a RHOD issue. See if that fixes it for you - this is only if wifi has never worked, no matter what you've tried.
Update your root-fs file... I too had a similar problem !!

i am having a problem with my wifi. by enabling it shows all the connections but never connect with any of the available network routers. if i try to connect with one, it ask the key. after applying the key it never respond.

I have the same issue... i have tried with 3 different networks now.
It says they are available, prompts for security key, and then says connecting for a moment.
The all it does is either say 'Unavailable' or 'Available', but never connects!
When did you start having this problem? I am having a similar problem after I install WM5SE rev 5.0 rom.
It appears no one wants to help or maybe its a new issue or its very much common. anyways maybe i should try any other rom. perhaps this could do the job.
i have solved my problem, don't know if yours is the same. try setting the battery life on wifi to best performance... worked for me!

Try open your resco registry/other registry tool, find the key "AutoCfg" n then set it from '0' to '1' .
it worked for me (wm5), but you must backup before...

Alright, this is my first post and I just recently got a Touch Diamond (my first 'smart' phone)...
I'm running into a problem that seems multiple people have been reporting - and that is Wi-Fi. Since the model that I got already came with the latest ROM installed (the one released mid July), I don't have anything to compare it to.
What's happening is that sometimes the phone will recognize my wifi connections, sometimes it won't. Even when I am able to successfully connect, it is only for a brief moment and then disconnects. Since I'm with T-Mobile and do not have a data plan, my main way of communicating will be through Wi-Fi. I'd REALLY like to know if there's anyone out there that might have any ideas...
I also tried updating the phone with the latest cooked SwiftBL ROM to see if maybe one of the modifications could fix it, but I still see the same problem. It's not my wifi because I've tried several other (non-secure) wireless connections and see the exact same problem with all of them. I saw on this forum who suggested to change the power settings of the Wi-Fi device, but that did nothing .
I'm at a loss....could it be a bug with the latest official ROM release?

I was driving from Wash DC to Montreal about 3 weeks ago. Once I got to Syracuse NY my N1 just froze. I took off the battery and then it wouldn't boot. ( I was running frf50 + froyo radio since the first day it was leaked). I thought maybe a routine wipe would fix it. It didn't work. I was out of options and had to wait until I get to montreal to use a laptop and see whatsup. Once in Montreal I downloaded a Rordriguez Froyo and the phone booted up. Now the problem started. Wifi doesn't work. Whenever I turn it on it says unable to scan for networks and then another error pops up saying " Sorry! Activity wifi settings (in application settings) is not responding." I tried a million different roms and radios and the problem persists... Yesterday I flashed another froyo rom and wifi worked and actually connected to my home WLAN. Then suddenly it stopped working again... Can anybody help me? this is so frustrating, especially since I have only 2 bars of EDGE in my basement. I think it might be the Wifi driver that is causing all this. If somebody can link me with the Wifi driver I might be able to fix this problem...

if you flashed a lot of roms....and it didnt work, chances are its a hardware issue, not a wifi driver issue as thats reinstalled with all roms

Bought a HD7 off ebay, it was stuck on screen after HTC Logo. Its an o2 one. It booted fine after a full reset using both volume buttons+power. But that was after I opened it and took the memory card out etc... but it works now.
Problem is, I just spend another bit of cash to unlock it only to find the wifi is now not working, I never tried it before this, but I remember when it was stuck it showed a greyed out wifi logo (wifi available icon). Now no matter how close it is to my router, or many routers here it doesnt pick up anything.
Does it have anything to do with that sticker (grey one) over the memory card because that was getting in my way and I cut it, since I tried to stick it back to no avail.
Anyways its running :

Bootloader : 5.11.22
Radio : 5.71.09
OS : 7.10.8107.79 (UK o2)
I have hard reset it many times. 3g works but its also patchy sometimes it doesnt work.
I would like to know if there is a fix, or how I can install a fresh rom on it, like a custom one, or even the stock one to see if it works.

UPDATE :
I fixed the issue by taking out the 3g sim, then hard reset using both volume buttons + power, then let it set up fresh, then it picked up wifi networks. I re-inserted the sim and restarted again and now have both 3g + wifi. Very strange.

The wifi has gone again, I upgraded to tango, everything went smoothly but I dont have wifi anymore, and even after master resets its not coming back.
The cause could have been :
- Connecting it to the computer
- Updating the OS which made it restart a few times.
- Connecting it to the charger.
I do not know which one of the above it was. Still looking for any hints on how to resolve, since my main sim doesnt have 3g I am left without internet.
UPDATE 3 :
Downgraded the SPL using Y Cable, installed NextGen+ 3.3 and still no wifi... Then downgraded the radio to nodo, no wifi, but this morning turned the phone on and the "networks available" icon showed, but unable to pick any networks or connect. Infact now it has issues letting me into the wifi page.

It happens mostly when the screen is off (even though I have the always on setting enabled) but also when using the phone normaly. Suddenly I get a toast that I was connected to my WiFi. I've also checked the router logs an I see that the honor 5c is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm on latest emui 4.1.2 without root or any other mod. I played with different channels and frequencies but that didn't help at all. Any ideas? I think it has to do with the battery optimization settings of marshmallow but even on the performance setting the WiFi connectivity just drops.

In the wifi settings, just check that, "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to always or not. If not then set it to always.
Edit : Sry i haven't read ur post properly. Is this the problem from the starting? Coz i don't have this issue.
I think I noticed this problem since the beginning but after flashing the latest 4.1.2 it got worse. Skype and WhatsApp calls get disconnected while screen is off (after 15 seconds or so).

The problem was with the original Rom and the reason why I flashed the latest.

I have exactly the same issue. I checked also dhcp mode in the developer tools.
Did you found a way to solve it ?
Changing the router solved the problem.
