NS4G Power Skin case - Nexus S Accessories

Looks quite nice - Thoughts?
http://goo.gl/uIrw3

hmm does look pretty nice, anybody have any experiences with these Power Skin cases?

I just ordered it, Saturday delivery... I'll report back.

i have a friend with the power skin for the desire hd/inspire. top notch fit and if i didn't have pretty awesome battery life with my nexus i would buy this in a heart beat.

Yeah not sure I need it, but I do want it.

rather disappointing, only 1500 for what looks like double the thickness, you mean to tell me that 1500 is all they can fit in there?
besides for me personally how that thing works would render battery tweak pointless as the phone is convinced its "plugged in", so it would always be running at the max.
cool concept but seems way too big and bulky for my taste

Pffffft, but it will be fun to play with for a few minutes if nothing else.
I'll post some pictures or something over the weekend.

you can turn the power on and off. so you can run the battery completely down and then turn it on. so it would run normally and then charge from the power suit.

Ok... so I missed around with the powerskin a bit over the last 2 days.
As far as function goes, it works really really well. It prioritizes the phone over itself when plugged in, has a button to handle checking charge and enabling/disabling the charging when not plugged in. It works pretty perfectly from a purely functional standpoint.
The feel of the powerskin is also really nice. the soft touch or whatever feels really good in your hand.
It's a little bigger than I expected (though I didn't really know what to expect) but it is not as big as some of the 3500 or so extended batteries I've had on past phones.
That said... I know most people just want the visual, so here are some pictures. The flash makes the powerskin look grey-ish, but it's not. It's actually just as dark black as the Nexus S case itself... it just isn't shiny.

Last two pictures...

Darn little to bulky for me.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G

Yeah, I won't (and don't need to) use it for daily stuff, but long outings or flights... perfect.

Hard decision. I really would like to double my battery life to make it through the really heavy days but that case is just monstrous looking.
I really appreciate the pictures mate.

No problem... I will say that the pictures make it look more giant than it feels when I hold it. Not sure that is helpful, but my opinion on it is that the size is a smaller con than the function and convenience is a pro.

So has any one got one of these? If so is does it perform well enough to pay that price and make your phone look as though it has a butt tumor?
Geez that is UGLY!!! You'd think a company like Seidio would make a sleeker looking back cover. I mean the Cheepo back covers you can get from Ebay look better than that. Come on Seidio, how about some effort. Aesthetics should go hand in hand when your paying that kind of money.

+1 so with you there. I mean gorillagadgets has a3500mah battery for the shift with a much sleeker case for half the price. Now it probably doesn't perform as well as the seido but still your paying $50 for a battery make a LITTLE change to the case. You get what you get though
I have the seidio extended and I love it! Provided I don't play to much with the phone I will last for 2 days. However does anyone know where to find a phone case for it??

Just checked this out seems interesting. For the price $29 + Shipping , I might just give it a shot. If I do I'll make sure to post up.
I tried the Gorillagadgets HTC EVO Shift 4G 3500 mAh Extended Life Battery but it wouldn't take a charge out of the box. I sent it back for a refund. The customer service was good though.
It's been a while since I first looked into this battery and thought I'd share. I've had it for a few months now and it performs great depending on the rom, kernel, cpu settings etc. The back is rubberized but didn't fit well when I got it. I made the holes for the camera lens and flash bigger which helped. There was also a velvet like pad inside the door that pushed against the battery that had to be removed. Once I took that out it fits great. Right now I'm running MikRunny. I hope this was useful.

I'll get you some in a bit. But imagine your device doubled. And also I just leave it on as soon as both my both and the poweskin are charged and then I leave the power skin on and I continue to use my phone one the powerskin then I drain my normal battery. Most useful way. The other was is to drain the nexus battery then charge the phone with the power skin. But you don't get much juice because you are sing the phone and charging at the same time. All in all. I managed to get a total of 3 days total without being with a charger. AMAZING! But I don't like the bulk much.
Edit: can post pics? Got an email/

Got your pics man. That last shot you sent to show the thickness as compared to a pencil really told the story. Funny thing is, that's how "thick" my phone is now with my Seidio active case except the front part by the screen makes it a pain to do anything near the edge. For example, Swyping the letter P.

Are all those relatively strong rare earth magnets a good idea? Won't that mess with things like navigation and storage?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
No the magnets won't affect it that way. It's an innovative idea for sure but the way the N7 is held in place is plain ugly! Also there doesn't seem to be any way to fix or hold the top cover in place when it's closed.
I think it's a great idea but not ready for market quite yet, at least I wouldn't buy it as is.
Very clever but ugly. Not sure why you would want to stick your tablet to the fridge?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
i really want one and would get it if it was like 20 bucks but looks like it will be at least 70 which is a no go for me especially since it doesn't look like it protects the corners.
Nope. The front cover, a rather important part, looks like it's got several slits in it to facilitate all of that silly folding.
Ehh I wouldn't be too sure about the internal Compass. The Transformer TF101 had issues with this and magnets.
Pretty slick idea. Looks like a great case but not for me. I hope he sells a lot of them and does well.
Looks interesting but I'll be waiting for some real users review to see if it really works well
Pretty dope!
Clever, but ugly and probably overpriced. For $20, I'd take a second look.
Doesn't look like it adds any protection, but seems like a really nice idea.
Frankly, I would love to be able to stick it to the fridge for recipes when I am cooking.
I went ahead and per ordered it from http://flipsteady.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=5 for 55 bucks. Its not the prettiest case out there but I prefer function over style most days out of the week and I do love all the options with the stand.
I will probably try to put a thin tpu case on the nexus and then the flip steady on top of it for a little more protection. Will review when I receive it.

This phone versus the s4

Anyone else slightly regret not going with the s4? Not that I don't love this phone, it's just that there are some things that annoy me. Such as the back and home buttons not responding sometimes. Then there is the horrible vibration that has me turning off haptic feedback. Which sucks because I loved having it on with the s3.
Honestly the haptic feedback thing is what is killing me. This has been an issue since the OG EVO.

One of the first things I turn off on a new phone is touch sounds and hepatic feedback. Not in the plan if you are looking for optimum battery charge life. This is just my humble opinion of course.

I've commented on this in a couple of other threads, but picking the One over the S4 was a no-brainer. The S4 is nice, it's definitely fast, but grip ergonomics are where it matters for my personal tastes. The One is far better designed I feel than the S4. Somewhere along the line Samsung forgot that cellular phones are used by human beings who typically have hands smaller than an NBA center. Also, thickness isn't even a competition here - the S4 is like a brick compared to the One.
The One, especially the black One, took the best design concepts from the iPhone 5 and improved upon them significantly. The phone feels right. I'm sure the S4 is great, but this phone is better for me.

I'm saying that unless my local Sprint store had the S4 in some kind of protector case that I didn't notice, which was possible because I put it down almost the moment I picked it up, I held a phone that was marked as the Galaxy S4 that was considerably thicker and heavier than the HTC One, and it didn't fit into my hand at all. I could easily be wrong - the difference was so clear holding the One that I was quickly turned off by the S4. Being $100 cheaper also helps. My apologies if I have incorrectly spoken on the dimensions of the S4. I'm just recalling what I personally experienced.

No apologies needed, but the S4 is definitely thinner and lighter than the HTC One, it is confirmed. Not only that but they are pretty much the same length or maybe the HTC One is a little taller. The S4 is wider though.

Mophie vs. ??? - Powered case for the HTC One M8

I'm looking for an extended battery/phone case for my M8...ya know, a powered case. I had a Mophie on my Galaxy S4 and absolutely lobed it...well, most of the time. Anyways, since Mophie doesn't make a case for the M8, I'm forced to explore a new brand.
Please if anyone knows of a reputable company (other than Mophie) please share your recommendation with me!
Thanks!!

I found two options, and it's really just a matter of price/brand.
This one...
And then the Mugen.
The Mugen has the pedigree as well as a higher milliampere-hour capacity, however it's $50 more. So it's really just dependent how how much you want to spend. Hope this helps.
Edit: I do not have experience with either of these, so if you decide to try one please let us know which one and how you like it.

So I found this one on Amazon yesterday and bought it. It arrives tomorrow, I'll report back and let you know my initial reactions.
ZeroLemon has their new battery case for our M8 on Amazon, just bought it, I'll update once I get it.
Well I just got my PowerBear charging case in the mail. Out of the box, it feels like reasonably good quality. Nice looking, it has that smooth, sorta grippy rubberized business we all seems to love now. It was very easy to slide the phone in and snap it into place. I'll put it thru it's paces and see how it does. The led indicators on the back are a nice touch, as is the built-in kickstand. Give me a few days to see if any issues arise.
