[Q] TW3 background color error - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
well i try to manage 2 things :
- menu background to make it transparent
- default_workplace to have my own homescreen
In fact if i try even only one of those, i have an error using the new launcher apk.
i fix permissions...but no way.
i make an attachment for my touch30launcher compiled. I only rename it (without unsigned) and copy it using root explorer, reboot in recovery, wiping dalvik & cache then reboot.
I have a FC issue (processus com.android.tw.....)
Anybody can help me ?
thanks.

Try flashing Milaq's flashable update: https://github.com/downloads/milaq/android/Market 3.0.26 for CM6.1.2.zip
The APK is floating about somewhere too
I'll try flashing when I'm at my computer.. And the apk, everytime I try to install it keeps saying error parsing the package
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
go to settings - applications - manage applications - force stop market and clear everything.
use rootexplorer - go to system/app
mount R/W
rename vending.apk to vending.apk.bk
now either flash update.zip or just copy new vending.apk in app folder
if it's not working.
1. reboot
2. if it's still not working try to clean cache and davik from OR
===
3. and if it still not working now either. you have the old vending to go to
if you don't backup you may end up spending more time trying to fix what you broke

[Q] problems with GDX

Hello,
I have troubles with GDX - when I copy app to system/app and change permissions, install it and then reboot, still I don't see app in launcher - I couldn't use it. What I can do better? For example I would like to install xperia launcher and I can't. Thank you so much.
1.If you want to install an ordinary app you don't need to push it to system/app,just you should install it simply.
2.If you want to replace an app with the app in system/app,after change the permission you must push it to system/app,and just reboot ,no need to again install it.by the way remember just some special app you can move it to system/app and replace it with default one.like as Framework or mms,etc that someone cook it specialy for rom.
3.and finally if you want to replace an ordinary app to default one that exist in system/app,you must first install the app simply, after that you must go to system/app and delete the default one,and just reboot, and enjoy,
For example:
you want to replace the holo launcher with sony home launcher, first you must install sony home launcher then run it,and from settings make it as your default launcher, then go to system/app ,and delete the holo launcher, then reboot and enjoy!
i hope you got my meaning, good luck!
Thank you for yours help, but I have still the same problem.
I'm going to describe my own procedure:
1 - I want install Sony home launcher with corners.
2 - download launcher and put it on sd card
3 - Via root explorer going to sd card and install launcher - "Application not installed"
4 - then copy sony launcher and paste him In system/app - set permissions and install - "Application not installed"
5 - reboot
6 - nothing happened
7 - what I do badly?
Otherwise - I want not replace holo launcher.
Thank you

[Q] File browser crashes when trying to change permissions.

Whenever i try to change file permissions in any file browser on my ace after i apply them and grant access with superuser it just crashes and shows a screen that says the program has stopped unexpectedly.
I've already tried 'fix permissions' in the CWM Recovery but still no luck.
Anyone know a fix for this?
Im using the Miracle V4 custom rom

...is the file browser which fc? or which app?
If the app that you are changing the permissions is running, It's normal that It fc, so you can go to settings > apps and force close manually it before change their permissions, It should work
If you want to change permissions of apps as systemui, statusbar, phone, contacts, framework-res etc IT'S NORMAL THAT THEY FC BEACAUSE THEY ARE RUNNING CONSTANTLY, you'll need to do it via cwm

App is not installed after moving .apk to system/app!

Hi there.
I would be very grateful if someone will help me solve my problem.
Well, after moving .apk to system/app (This time it was Google Wallet, but earlier I had the same with other apps) and data/app (tried both), it doesn't appear in the app drawer. What is more, It's not seen by Titanum Backup, nor the adb sees it as the installed package (adb shell, pm list packages) - no app on the list).
As I said, it works with every app - nothing appears after moving .apk to system directory manually.
Okay, wiping Dalvik-Cache and fixing the permissions may solve the problem, but I am afraid it may enable THIS screen appear on EVERY reboot (correct me if I am wrong).
Do you know any other solution? Or wiping dalvik-cache and fixing the permissions from recovery is the only proper one?
P.S. Can wiping dalvik-cache and fixing the permissions cause some problems, like it will delete the records in games or will have to configure the settings again?
use es File Explorer as you need to set the permissions, es automatically sets them correctly

Well, what I forgot to add, I of course set the permissions (644 as all system apps)... Is in that case only solution wiping dalvik-cache?
Will wiping dalvik cache delete my games records

I would suggest to wipe dalvik and the regular cache.
Any game data won't be touched (those aren't cache files correct me if I'm wrong)
If the problem persists tell us what rom etc. you're on and maybe do a full reinstall with backing up data before.

Are you using an apk from the stock rom on another rom? I'm asking this because I wanted LG Weather on CM 10.1 and I put it in system/app, rebooted and it didn't appear anywhere. The thing is that the stock rom is not deodexed and CM is. I had to use a tool to deodex the app and then put it in place, fix permissions and reboot.

You shouldn't need to wipe the dalvik cache, simply rebooting will appear that screen only for the apps that you manually put in system/app.

1. you dont move the apk. you copy it in system/app.
2. the game data is in data not in cache.
3. you dont need to wipe dalvic. a new app installed just creates a new file in dalvic

Well I fix thew permissions in file manager. I don't know how to make the apps install this way,
Even if you copy it to /system/app/ and set permissions, it won't be installed for sure. You'd better check logs to know what's happening.

[RESOLVED] ROOT: Issues with changing font

Update: I was able to change the font with the flash zip option using the app previously mentioned. When using iFont (Expert of Fonts) or any other app for that matter to switch font, after rebooting the device it bootloops? I've tried clearing the Dalvik & Cache & even tried fixing permissions. Any thoughts on how to successfully change the font or a working app?

Is there a square where the " : " should be in the Minimus ROM?

Using iFont? Where is the Flash zip option?
Sent from my Nexus 6
Open app, MY, Settings, Change font mode, Recovery mode. Now when you SET font it will create a flash zip. Make sure you backup your Rom!
Yes.
