[THEME]UPDATED 4/9 Transparent Google Play Shop 3.5.16 - Android Themes

4/9-Updated to 3.5.16.
Took a while to get things sorted out where they look right (mostly) with ics. It's not quite as clean as my previous versions as there's some graphics I'd like to rework, but it's not too bad.
Same as usual, here's a zip to flash in recovery:
-->TransBlueGooglePlay3.5.16-signed.zip<--
...and if you want to go back, here's a zip with an unmodified market:
GooglePlay3.5.16-stock-signed.zip
Remember, my update script will place Vending.apk in you /system/app directory. So if you were updated from 3.5.15 you'll need to remove /data/app/com.android.vending-1.apk by uninstalling updates or removing via adb or root explorer. Also, I noticed that in the new ics rom they've called it Phonesky.apk when it's initially installed in /system/app. (The package name in the Manifest is still com.android.vending though)

UPDATE 3/24
Here's the newest apk with my well known theme. There were several changes to the layout files this time, including many new layout files...so please let me know if you see any inconsistencies or areas that I missed.
FLASH IN RECOVERY
-->TransBlueGooglePlay-3.5.15-signed.zip<--
If you wish to revert, here's the unmodified market, also in a recovery zip:
GooglePlay-3.5.15-stock-signed.zip
As usual, please make sure you don't have any version of the market installed in /data/app/. If you do, please uninstall updates in the application management section. The zips will place Vending.apk in /system/app.
Once again, I want to say I really appreciate all of the compliments I've received on the meager contributions I've posted. It's hard to believe I've been doing this for over a year and a half now.....coming from absolutely zero experience, I've learned a lot from this place and it's nice to be able to give back a little.
UPDATED 3/17
I've updated for the new Play Shop. It looks the same...or well it's supposed to anyway. If I get some time I might play around with my button dimensions/layout a little bit.
Here's a zip to flash in recovery:
TransBlueMarket-3.4.7-signed.zip
Here's a recovery zip that has the stock version of the market should you want to go back:
Vending-3.4.7-stock.zip
Prior updates:
12/27 - Fixed a couple small text color issues, otherwise the same. Link updated below.12/22 - Update to 3.4.4
Flash in recovery. Updater-script installs in the /system/app directory so don't forget to uninstall updates in settings if you have been OTA updated to 3.4.4. As always, please let me know of any issues anyone runs into.
TransMarket-3.4.4bl-v2-signed.zip
*Also updated the raw apk in the attachment section below.12/8 - Update to 3.3.12
I fixed a couple small detail items that weren't 100% in the previous version. It seems to be working pretty good on my N1 at least. Tablets still have some work to do. Mdpi should be good to go as well. Let me know if there's any problems.
Hope to work on the green one soon...
Flash in Recovery
TransMarket-3.3.12bl-signed.zip
*If updater script isn't compatible with your device, just push/copy the apk and reboot. No wiping necessary. This WILL NOT install like "normal" as it's not resigned. Push/copy only.
*Please ensure you've uninstalled updates or otherwise removed all com.android.vending.apk entries from data/app, as this zip will place Vending in your /system/app directory.
Raw apk is in attachment section
9/25 Update to 3.1.5
Ok, finally got my theme ported into 3.1.5. I'll admit that this hasn't been real thoroughly tested, but so far so good for me. The themes are almost exactly like before...it's not identical, but it would be very hard to tell the small changes that were made. Still hdpi only.
FLASH IN RECOVERY
Blue trim-TransMarket_3.1.5bl-signed.zip
Green trim-TransMarket_3.1.5gr-signed.zip
*These will flash to /system/app directory. It is very likely that you were silently updated to 3.1.5 and therefore have the apk in /data/app. If the Market is not themed after flash, go to settings>applications>manage applications>select "All" tab and scroll down to Market. Select uninstall updates.
Original stock market: AndroidMarket_3.1.5-stock-signed.zip
*Also, in the attachments section, there are copies of the raw apk. I add these for convenience in case you'd rather simply push the apk as I do. They should be renamed to just Vending.apk before use, and they WILL NOT install with package manager like "regular" apk's.

My themed Markets are probably my first totally original works here at xda. Even so, there's been a couple guys who have helped in their own way. Chris6278 is responsible for me even getting started theming these damn things lol. Chosen_on184 is who suggested transparency....which turned out to be a big hit. And more recently fernando sor who, as a result of some of our private conversations, caused me to push a little further with these themes than I probably otherwise would've.
And as always, none of these mods would be possible without JesusFreke's and Brut.all's work.
Original post
Earlier today I was reminded by a friend that I should post these types of mods here rather than in the device forums so that others may find it easier. So...here's my attempt on a transparent theme for the new Android Market. I was skeptical for a while on how this would turn out and even if it would be possible to make it to my standards. I'm happy to say that it did indeed turn out much nicer than I expected. I have retained the original color theme (slightly different tint to the green). The text colors on the heading, categories, and prices are still dynamic and will match the sections colors respectively.
This works best over a darker wallpaper.

Now I have prepared a zip to flash in recovery. The mount system script is compatible with the N1, and Nexus S. So I will also attach the themed apk, so that you can either put it in your own update zip, use a root explorer to copy (be sure to reset perms!!), or use adb to push. If you were updated to 3.0.27 silently, then you need to uninstall updates in order for this to take effect.

Thank you for looking!!
Attachment is the themed apk only.

Here is the stock version of the Android Market, also in a flash zip:
AndroidMarket-3.4.4-original-signed.zip
And the stock Vending.apk is attached below.

Awesome job man! U never disappoint lol

Flashed onto HTC Desire with RCmix 2.0 and works perfect. As usual with your work detailed and excellent.

fantastic !! works great and looks sexy !
would be nice to have a transparent aosp email.apk too...

Thank you, I use a dark wallpaper and this really looks great though it.

Wow!!!! This is awesome. Just installed and works perfectly. This should be stock on some roms.

This is sick dude, love it!
Thanks!

I didn't know anyone used that app
lol
I normally do take requests, and this is not a 'no,' but I have a couple other projects that I probably should give some attention before I start a new one.

Would one of those projects be what we discussed awhile back? Lol just playin dude take ur time i know ur busy

one thing im noticing about the "themed" markets is that there is no option for bill to mobile... dont know that it could be..
I was running a black themed market and no carrier btm, reverted to 2.3.6, which updated to the newest market and the option was there
flashed this market and its missing again....
hmmm... i flashed original market 3.0.27 and some apps dont give me the option.. could it be app specific??

It looks great on my Galaxy5.
Thanks

I don't think I'll be working on any other's right now. If theming is something you do, then I invite you to decompile mine and see the methods of my madness. Besides the editing of png's, I can tell you that I try to anchor as much xml theme work as I can in styles. This minimizes the amount of layout xml that I have to edit. I also try to avoid editing the manifest if at all possible which minimizes potential UID issues. Thankfully in this one I could work around the manifest.
If you do decompile it and have a specific question, I'll be happy to answer (hopefully I'll know the answer, lol)

I have this option. I definitely remember it, too as I had issues with the popup text, lol. Once you click the price button of an app, it will have your default payment method in a spinner dropdown. Press in the spinner and you'll get a popup to select payment method.

Some apps give me the option and some don't. I think its the apps or something because same thing happened on stock market. Oh well. Awesome job btw!!!

I would've liked to, but I couldn't really come up with any great ideas to that effect. Especially since one of my primary design goals was to retain all the dynamic color features from the stock version. I really like the color coded sections, and I don't want to lose that added touch.
What I would've really liked to do was to color coordinate the buttons, download progressbars, and loading spinners to each section as well, but I haven't figured out how I could exactly do that yet. Another thing I could do would be change some of the smaller items like the review stars, radio buttons, buy buttons, and maybe make a new color/version of the progressbars. Except I would want to keep the "decline" buttons red like I have now.
I might try some of those things at some point, but as I mentioned there's a couple other projects I should give a little attention to first.
And THANK YOU for the kind words sir. Very much appreciated

[Theme] HeTANG for VanillaEclair 5

This theme is for RaduG's ROM: VanillaEclair 5 - "Welcome to Prisneyland, Fish" (20/07/2010)
I do not plan on updating this further, but the images are there in the theme for someone to take on and port to future versions or other ROMs. Sorry to all that have been using it, but I don't have the time these days to keep on top of it.
It's a port from Manup's NexTANG theme, so all credit for this goes to him. You can check out his original version for the Nexus here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685584.
I also found a Droid version. On this site you can downloaded the app/folder icons. I have not included them in my theme as am not a huge fan of them, but may include them in later or the final version - DroTANG - http://forums.swdroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=30
Please note: I do not have that much time to do this sort of thing so please do not bombard me with requests and bugs. I will try to update this but am not on any time schedule. If someone else wants to take this and run with it, by all means be my guest. What I have so far is enough for me
So... attached you will see what is themed so far. To achieve this look please follow the below:
Flash the attached theme 'HeTANG-VE5-0.4.zip' (see below the post) from whatever recovery you are using.
You will then need to change following to white text (or other) in Spare Parts, or as in VE5 - 'Settings > System':
Clock
Date
Carrier PLMN
Carrier SPN
Notifications ticker
No notification title
Ongoing notification title
Latest notification title
Items title
Items text
Items time
Then (if you wish) to complete the look apply the App Drawer icon to LauncherPro that you should most certainly be using , and the Wallpaper that can be found in the 'HeTANG-Extras.zip' file - These are just the files. Not a flashable zip.
I hope people will get some enjoyment out of this. Enjoy!
Change Log
0.4
- Themed drop down boxes
- Improved images on the popup dialogues for a better fit
0.3

0.2
- Added themed Power Control widget
0.1
- Initial release
Notes for HeTANG
looks great, I'll try it later
flashed it and now waiting for boot up.
11min and it just hanged on HERO screen.
Pulled battery off and reflashed it and waited boot about 12 mins. nothing happens it just hangs on HERO screen. nandroid restoring now back to basic VE5b10RC. Theme sure looked nice but it wont boot on my hero.. :/
I suspect that the RaduG's latest changes to his ROM has caused this. As I said I used build7 as a base and because he's so fast )) with his updates I didn't really want to keep updating this every minute. So for those who do have trouble you will just have to wait until he gets a final version out and then I can update this accordingly.
Strange it didn't work though as the framework should still be identical as well as the apps that are themed.
Strange indeed. Anyone else tried flash this and with what results? Just want to know is the problem in my device or is it problem with wrong build number.
Anyway nice work trying to port this. There aren't too many themes to hero builds.

Ah, no it doesn't. I didn't want to include them as I didn't really like them and didn't think people would want them. They can be downloaded from the original thread though and used via 'BetterCut' for example.
I may include them in the final version, but not sure yet.

I appreciate you've already said this will get updated as and when, but is there any plans for including some of the other styling? the only things that I have seen at the moment is popup menus aren't styled and the search widget isn't either. Not a big deal, just wondering

I may well give it a go. At first I did port all the images from the framework over but I just ended up with everything FC on me when trying to get into any of the menus and apps, so I think I need to do it bit by bit. Some of those .9 png files can be troublesome if not treated carefully, so just gonna take some time. Unfortunately there is no mdpi version of this theme from what I can see, so each image has to be resized

Thanks The problem is for most of the files you need to look at the default image from VE5 then resize the one from Manup's version accordingly. This really has to be done one by one, as not all images are scaled down by the same percentage it seems. I'm still getting my head round it lol. I'll try and take more of a look into it soon and keep you posted on any developments. Appreciate the help though

[MOD] AdeoMOD - Navalynt Style (for Adeo v.02)

Based on DesignGears Adeo (REDUX) v0.2
I know I have a lot of people to specifically credit/thank but it's 12:30am here and I'm ready to fall asleep at the keyboard! I will have to revisit this in the morning and check for any feedback you all have.
BTW, Battle:LA, AWESOME MOVIE!
So I did a bit of theming after I got the services.jar file edited to support transparency in the notification drop-down. I also made the following additions to the ROM:
AppWidgetPicker
Playstation App
Fenny's WebTop Mod
Adobe Flash 10.2
Titanium Backup
Larger APNs list (apns-conf.xml) for unlocked phones
This is packed up with the Adeo v0.2 update since DesignGears did such a great job of scripting that update. You *should* be ok to re-apply this over v0.2 but I have not tested that myself.
INSTALL AT YOUR OWN PERIL - THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTING WORKING ON MY OWN HANDSET

Also included in the download file are the icon/dock images I used with LauncherPro which you will see in the screenshots.
UPDATE: If you have issues with MotoBlur widgets after this update you will need to perform a factory data reset. Actually, if you use the Blur features, just plan on performing that reset no matter what.
PICASA WEB ALBUM (higher quality screenshots)
Reserved (10char)
I'm testing this right now. Thanks, it looks awesome. Also, you might wanna make sure that you tell people that they need Adeo 0.1 BEFORE applying this update.
(A Mod might move it though... >.<)
hey man i just tested it. i do have the never software flashed on it (the sbf file frmo teh forums), and it seems to work fine, however i saw a glitch or so to say, namely when i did the webtop over hdmi only, after disconnecting the hdmi, and pressing the off/on button to put the screen to sleep, i tried to get it from sleep again and the screen just stayed black no matter what i did, i had to pull out the battery and now it works again.
so it might be a glitch with the newer version and teh webtop hack.
works well and very pretty but,
my social networking is messed up. my contact widgets are not linked anymore.
it was cool to test out!, how do i uninstall?

Well, there were a lot of people having problems with their MotoBlur after the 0.2 update and I believe this "ROM" is based on that update so maybe a factory reset would have fixed it?

Yup, had to upload via dog sled to! It does have MotoBlur, no way of completely removing that right now. I just choose to use LauncherPro Plus instead of the stock MotoBlur launcher because I never use any of the Blur crap. If we ever get a custom recovery I will definitely work on a Blur-less ROM!
crnkoj, thanks for the feedback on the webtop mod! I have not even tried it yet but I'll probably play with that later this afternoon. If it continues being a pain I'll remove it from the updater.
songoghon, some people have reported that issue with blur specific widgets after the Adeo v0.2 updated (as mentioned above). The only solution which seems to work universally is a factory reset.
The primary reason for this mod/theme/pseudo-rom is for my own personal use which is why you guys might find glitches I don't see. Everyone uses their phones a little differently so I really appreciate the feedback!
I still have some ideas for the graphics since I really dislike the lock screen sliders and I can see a few small glitches. Updates will be posted as I work on it (and as I have the time).

I don't like that the messages app icon and email app icon are really small.. The trans. of the notification bar is slightly to transparent and cant read text very well maybe adding a white boarder to the text or changing trans. to something slightly darker. Really like the rest of it... Great job on this.. Keep up the good work...

+1 on that quoted section above. If those two Icons were normal sized - i would have no complaints period. Love the theme job here. Please keep this going and update it as often as you can. This is very nice looking. I love the Signal bar design
[edit] There are actually a few icons that got shrunk down to very tiny sizes.... Hope this is an easy fix and an easy update to those who have this installed
*bump* I know OP is limited on time available - just wondering if anyone else has found any issues with this mod. Anxiously awaiting next release!

[themed rom] Monster rom 1.2 UPDATE 10/17/11

Update 10/17/11

Looks pretty damn nice. I just started one earlier myself.
that looks awesome. i'll give it a shot a little later, after i get back from the grocery. nice job and the effort is appreciated ^_^
Im 35% dl, will try to install in a couple of minutes.
Installed great, great rom, a bit of lag (but I did not wipe data and cache). Nothing too special about this. I love the battery notification. I flashed this successfully from steel droid.
Another thing is this topic should of been posted in android development section.
don't believe i have enough posts to post there and i was not sure were to put it
Good job. I have not done it yet im just very cautious about stuff waiting to read more of what people are saying before I jump in. Im mostly waiting for the on rom that claims to be really fast. Those are the rom that I like. But I always try out most of them.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Almost all roms a blazing fast on any device I've had, but what makes them slow is all the apps I download and just forget about. Or when I don't clear all of the data and cache.
What file did you edit to get the thing bar that says, "ongoing/no notifications" black? I can't find that damn thing.
Sent from my DROID3 using xda premium
first time i did it i used uot kitchen then i think i found it in one of the decompiled xml files

Don't hold me to it since I haven't pushed any of the image files I made back to the phone yet to see but I think in systemres it is "zz_moto_title_bar_bg_bottom"
Oh man, this looks sweet. The grey/black theme really caught my attention, as it will go really well with my venom loadout. I really need to learn how to make roms! If my shift tonight is slow enough, im gonna get started on learning.

I'm also dying to find out what was edited to change the "ongoing/no notifications" bar thing to change. Can't for the life of me find it.
So Far so good! Liking the theme.
Awesome Themed Rom. Really liking the grey and white. It looks so much better than the stock blue. Keep up the good work.

MIUI General FAQ
Q: How do I root this?
A: Enable root in the perm manager, which can be found in the security folder.
Q: Why is G-Apps not listed for Download?
A: Too Bloaty, add a Google account and install the play store as an APK, I suggest using Aptoide to find it.
Q: 4G LTE isn't working
A: Load the Phone, dial *#*#4636#*#*, goto Phone information, Set preferred network type to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL).
Q: Help! Phone/SystemUI/Keyboard Isn't working/Is Force Closing!
A: Make sure to do a completely clean wipe, also I'm not sure how well this will work if flashed in CWM.
Q: The Browser looks terrible.
A: Settings -> Advanced -> User agent string -> MiOne (It Renders much better & more naturally!)
Q: My Filesystems won't mount/My PC can't see my device/My phone won't act as a MTP/USB Mounting isn't working!
A: Settings -> Developer Options -> Enable Development / USB Debugging (switch both to on)
I'm getting a problem with having an invisible lockscreen, it works but there is just nothing there.

are you using a custom theme? If you are not trying applying a theme. you can get some from here http://en.miui.com/thread-14216-1-1.html
I had the same issue once but applying a theme brought it back to normal.
Question: what's the difference between this rom download and this one. http://en.miui.com/download-112.html

No, my rom has nothing to do with 2699462's.
I am Tquetski not 2699462, It's a different person and this is a different ROM entirely.
This is not a repost of someone elses work lol

Idk, I'm not that guy but there is prob. not too huge of a difference since they both seem to be AOSP base.
I don't know why his is as heavy as mine, the KB+ Translation files account for most of this files size and outside of that it's pretty clean (no weird code or custom APKs)
After Flash Report
Okay flashed this morning, because i fell asleep while formatting my data in recovery last night (huge fail) lol.
Haven't seen much reports on this rom, so i decided to flash & do it myself.
But anyway, so far on first flash, no problems what so ever, booted up normally & quickly, no force closures besides one (as far as i know), nothing major tho, just when you enable the 'smiley' button on the Xperia keyboard, the keyboard force closes, no biggie at all, us android users can easily switch key boards .
Another few UI issues i ran into (again nothing major), i guess a little glitch, the weather icon & calender icons are invisible, not 100%, you can see the shadows, but the icon design itself is missing, also the invisible lockscreen which was already mentioned, these icon & lockscreen issues are easily fixed by applying a theme, another thing, when setting a wallpaper, the alignment was way off, was easily fixed with a reboot tho, not sure if applying a theme also fixed it, but it works regardless with no effort.
Mms works, but i had to do a simple APN edit, honestly haven't checked if the APN settings that came with the ROM works, haven't tested it because i usually use this one specific edit for any MIUI Rom i flash.
Besides that, the Rom has been working flawless for me atleast, also not sure about battery life, when i woke up, my phone was dead due to falling asleep in recovery at 4%, so i will report back on that & any other issues if i run into.
To the dev, great job on the Rom, MIUI can be a pain to most when porting .
To the users, all issues I've reported so far shouldn't discourage you from flashing the Rom, pretty much one time issues, so no doubt flash away
Could you please post your apn edit for us?

Miui usually comes with its own core apks I believe, no need to flash gapps & for the APN edits, go to your APN settings, you should see 4 APN saved, edit any one of the last 2, for the name, put Sprint, for the APN edit under name, I use cinet.spcs then go down to MMSC, click on it and don't erase anything, just add "/servlets/mms" (no quotes) , save it, click on it, reboot & lemme know if it works, honestly, I think it was a trial so keep trying, also mess with the *#*# 4636#*#* menu & see if you get lucky
Well done on this. Hope your builds continue as the other MIUI roms will not work on the latest version of Philz recovery

I think the MIUI base is pretty much to outdated for Philz, i mean come one, its 4.2.2 , CWM & TWRP flashes it flawlessly tho, so no big deal
The S4 Sprint is the quiet crowd; over here it's not too noisy.
I am updating this in a few hours with substantially huge updates. MIUI software camera is functional now so people who like this kind of thing will enjoy it
awesome job on this, runs smooth, all apps seems to be working, haven't had any force closes and GPS is working. i would say nice daily driver if you like MIUI alot.

A lot of those core apks do not work correctly while some do. its hit or miss. Or let me rephrase and say dont work as intended. Like the market that comes with miui is no where close to be like the play store and its in chinese.

I'd say the only real difference is that he used PatchROM where I just use the same Frameworks from my Razr XT926 and then fork it across every device I build for.. Interestingly in this case his release is more of an 'original work' even though mine is more functional but I'll get to that later.
The thing is that I don't really give a fk about being all original, I do care about results. If I continued to use XT926 components from my project here that would be the case but I seen the S4 mini had a working MIUI camera so I just took it along with the CameraParameters and forked it to this to see if it would really run, it did.
I'm not swinging my peen around by releasing over someone else; this port took 5 minutes real-time because my workspace is a little different than a Linux workspace; I fork to multiple devices for greater feedback so I'm really just testing here not trying to steal someone elses usersbase; I'm just playing around and having fun

Substratum?

Hey all,
First off, I'm a newbie. Sorry if I offend the order around here, or anything!
So I am a long-time lover of substratum, and was looking forward to theming 9.0 on this Razer phone 2... But I've tried my damnedest since I got it back in early March, and from where I am now, it appears it's hopeless. Anybody gotten Subs working? I'm running mr0, magisk fully updated, trying to apply swift dark. (And yes, the magisk module installed properly for Subs), and I even get no error codes (in fact, the app claims everything's working), but no themes appear under the 'manage' tab. Halp!
Razer Phone 1 & 2 can only use themes signed with the system key thru Razer Theme store. It's coded in framework-res.apk to verify if I remember correctly. Someone might be able to remove the code check and make a install zip for TWRP that can be used with the deodexed ROM here.

Working fix for substratum
found this on another thread and im suprised to not see this anywhere else but anywho, this is the only working way to get substratum on the Razer 2 ive been able to find and its pretty easy to use. https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-smali-patcher-0-7-t3680053 get this, run the .exe, patch for signature verification (if you have any problems try a different charger, make sure you have usb debugging on, and run .exe as admin) then when its done running look for the .zip and run it through twrp/magisk.

Ok so update! Using both swift dark and swift black results in the same 2 issues=
-notifications almost go black, but are instead a light light gray on swift dark (making the white text hard to read) and go dark gray on swift black. I've never used swift black prior to tonight, so maybe I've just never seen how dark swift black does it's notifications, and am thus ignorant! For this issue, I double and triple checked I had both Android system & system ui themed, reboot, enable, reboot. To no avail.
I also noticed with both theme packs that the play store doesn't theme at all, but that when viewing an app's page, the title text is white (and thus invisible).
This is just a heads up for those of us working with this now. I'm gonna let the devs know and see if they have any advice or are able to bugfix. Thanks again guys -- play music is buttery black!
Just to clarify...

So I've been running subs for a little while through both methods, so either works. Both methods produce the same result, but I've found that the ROM has some minor bugs that can be obstructive at their worst. EG, every now and then my taps register as long holds (for example, on my keyboard I'll look up and see a bunch of jumbles of symbols instead of the words I tried to type)
But regardless, both methods fail to get the system themed. They try, but notifications are unreadable, and the theme color of the quick settings panels doesn't change from the Razer green.
tl'dr, I'd stick with the smali patcher method, as the ROM has some quirks that can make it a hassle to use as a daily driver.

Thanks for the response..
Just to followup regarding the smaili method, do I generate the signature for the Substratum install apk or the theme or both. Once the zip is generated then I install using TWRP? Just not really clear what needs the signature and what order things should be installed.
Thanks,
RJR

Generate the module zip for your phone. Copy it over and install with Magisk. As for theming, it's seems that the systemui overlay is the issue. Any theme that I install just seems to combine with the systemui one instead of replacing it, causing notifications and certain other areas like parts of setting menus to be unreadable. If we could disable systemui's theming, I think we could get somewhere.
