thanks a lot mi410. im already downloading it!
can u also please provide me insts how to downgrade from custom miui to this 2.2?
like using which method or software or something?
thank ya again!
it is better to use SUT LR to downgrade or upgrade and always select 'erase user data'.. please go thru this page http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1985476, everything is explained here and there is link for everything
but personally I use CM 7.2 (final) by Edower..... or the Miui 2.3.x by CacingKulang is also good

Please share those links too
just go thru' the development section, you will get the link for all the different ROMs

Prepare the P990 for the ICS update

I have rooted my device, installed the clockworkmod and Cyanogenmod 7.2
As far as I know you can't install a original firmware update on a rooted device.
So what do I need to do to prepare it for the ICS update?
Superoneclick unroot? will that do the trick?
Unroot
Yes super one click will unroot your phone. But you must flash it with an original 2.3 stock version if you want to use LG tools to upgrade it. Another way to get it is to download the .kdz ROM when it will be released and put it on your device.
Anyway, until now, only the SU660 -the korean version of the o2x- is getting upgrades... Patience
The best is to keep it this way and flash one of the modded stock ROM ....

What do you mean by upgrade.. I just said that when official Ics will be there, devs will make modded official Ics based roms... So you'll be able too upgrade from a modded ROM to another.

Ah okay, I thought you ment upgrading the official rom with LG-tool.
My Advice is to wat for the kernel source release.
It is said to be released 2 weeks afther the LG update.
Parandroid for O2x already has LG UI 3.0 + JB flavour. The only thing that lacks is video recording, hw acceleration and proprably other minor stuff.
So till the end of October, there will probably be CM9/CM10 release for O2x.
Hello,
How many time, in your opinion, after official release a zip cwm flashable official based ics will be aviable ? it's soooo easy to flash by this way (last time I flashed an official rom I was forced to use the ftp server method , worked well but ....)
Thanks

as soon as the official release will be out, for now be patient , the devs on this site can produce a modded stock rom that can be flashed in cwm, just like v20q. till then we have to wait :silly:
I did use CWM to flash this: v20q.zip file (stock firmware GB) and did factory reset everything.
I can still acces the special boot menu when holding the power button and vol down button.
But I don't think the device is rooted?
Is that true?
I installed a memory cleaner app and it told me that my device is not rooted so I can't acces all the options.
So flashing v20q.zip file also unroots the phone?
Seems to be
But custom recovery remained.

Just flash su.zip that you can find somewhere here in xda to root again.
Return Back to Stock
I restored back my Stock Back and using LG suit Updated to Newer Version to v20i. It automatically unrooted

The kernel files are included in the zip... Just boot into recovery, and flash the rom, make dalvik, cache and data wipes, and you're done

how to run these stuff ?

Pls help,Can't get into any recovery at all

Hi everyone
I have just gotten a Samsung galaxy mini. I rooted it and unlocked it okay.
But then I wanted to flash rom and stuff, so I downloaded Odin, and flashed cwm, but... When Odin says pass, it press home + power and the Samsung screen flashed twice and sticks.
But the strangest thing is that it can still boot into android sometimes.
I am on android 2.2.1
iBook anybody can help as it is worrying me a lot
before flashing rom or CWM you will need to upgrade to gingerbread either through odin or Kies
and then flash cwm and after that flash rom with cwm
Thanks for the reply
I can't seem to upgrade via kies, can you provide a link that contains stock Roms for my samsung that can be upgraded via Odin.
Is there any chance of bricking at all?
Do you need any other info?
Thanks

Without a backup for apps...you will lose that personal data.....
Changing is just make a complete wipe from the cwm.....you have not mentioned about if you have root access....hold volume down and power button simultaneously.....in the cwm make all wipes...format system....then flash the new one...download the required ROM from the dev section
That is it....
When you are entering the cwm menu...check if there is a grey or pink lg logo...pink is the new boot loader...use only the versions compatible for this loader....
Try to use search...you will find more answers my friend
