[EXPERIMENTAL] AOSP Theme (Need testers) - Motorola Droid 3

I need testers for a possible AOSP theme.
I have deodexed and themed the SystemUI.apk, and I need experienced android users who are interested in testing to message me.
This file is completely untested and it is very likely it will cause you to bootloop. Before you message me please be fully aware of what you are getting into and what the repercussions could possibly be.
I am not responsible for any softbricks that may occur. By messaging me you agree that you fully understand everything that I have stated above.
Thanks for your time

Android Open Source Project, it means it's a stock android theme.

I would be down to test
Unfortunately my mac on OSX lion is impossible to use adb on, so if i was to test for you i'd need a script that could be applied from the phone.

If you can direct me to methods for fixing the softbrick I will gladly do what I can to help. as far as I'm concerned all android phones should be released AOSP... I'd love to get my phone closer to that till we have an AOSP rom available.

Cyanogenmod 10 PORT from RAZR HD

Yo Guys
This is the CM10 build for the Motorola RAZR HD, uploaded here with the boot.img from the Atrix HD (Matt says this isn't necessary, but I'd rather give you something I've tried and worked, than something maybe broken )
Full credit to dhacker29 and Hashcode for this build.
Everything else is stock for the RAZR. Anyone and everyone should take this and help get a usable CM10 for us, and maybe get our community hopping a little!
OG Link to RAZR thread
Link to download
Google Apps
Steps:
Create new ROM slot in SS3
Install from zip
Reboot
Alright, I guess that's about it. Enjoy.
I pretty hastily uploaded this to the Dev section, if it belongs in General, don't hesitate to move it. Thanks!

-Coming Soon-
*And I don't mean soon like, I have the intention of making it, I mean soon like, I'll upload it when I'm not at school
When it's here, anyone please feel free to take it and fix it up, because my expertise level ends at getting it to boot. I'd really only recommend flashing if you Can Not wait, or if you want to spiff it up.
*Questions I can answer now*
Yes, this is the RAZR HD's build of CM10 injected with our kernel and build.prop
No, I probably wouldn't use this as my daily-driver yet
Wifi? Nope
HSPA says it's there, but signal bar is 0%. I got a text though, so I don't know how much is getting through.
This is 4.1.1
No Camera, but that's broken on RAZR too.
Again, I'm sorry for having to put this Hold thread up, but I really don't have the resources to share it all right now. See you soon.

Of course, giving credit to Hashcode and Dhacker29 for doing the entire thing... right? Also, you didn't need to change out the boot.img because it automatically detects it is not a developer edition and won't flash it. Build.prop doesn't matter either, it will boot either way.
Something that would be very helpful is fixing WiFi with Atrix HD libs/modules

I didn't know about the boot.img, I was just told that it wouldn't boot for us because of the boot.img, but thanks for clarifying! And absolutely, ALL the credit goes to them, I'll put that in the op now that I'm home.
Just a question: How can we "repair" the wifi and all these things? Just replacing the files from the stock JB leak or what? I'm curious...
The OP needs to write a changelog or features working/not working. Thanks.

No telling what the OP did to the ROM, as nothing but the updater script needed to be changed, yet he stated he changed a few other things.
Let's hope he hasn't abandoned the thread and is fixing it now.

[Q] Who would like me to build a clean rooted stock ROM? [Solved!]

Hi,
I've seen some people requesting just a clean, rooted stock ROM, without any other alterations. Recently I've started to play around with dsixda's Android kitchen and figured it's not that hard to build a zip from a generic .195 with just root added. It can also be deodexed to allow for theming.
If there's enough people to say "Yes" on the poll I can release it in the next few days.
I know I don't have a lot of posts so you might be wary about flashing something I've built but I've been on these forums for years, read a lot and have experience flashing lots of devices, including Galaxy S (II), Archos 80 G9 and several HTC WinMo devices.
After getting my Xperia T I became interested in removing the T-Mobile branding so flashed gregbradley's Assaye-V0-0-3. Then I removed some more bloat and added back the Skyfall theme, built it using the kitchen and flashed. So now I have my "own" little ROM which works brilliantly.
And of course I would test the build myself before releasing it.
Definitely interested in this ! Hope more people will answer the poll !
Yes please! I like to give Sony a chance before I ditch their stuff and so far I'm loving the Sony experience. A clean untouched ROM with root access would allow me to keep that experience but allow me the freedom to make my own tweaks!
Clear rooted stock ROM
I really enjoy the experience of UI of a Stock ROM and I would love to keep the same features and design + gaining a root access to get full experience of certain apps like Airdroid & Avast. Can't wait for your working clean, rooted stock ROM
Hope you will launch the tx version!
Keep going
Sent from my LT29i using xda app-developers app
ya of course, we will wait for that
but please release for Xperia TX too.
thank you very much, dude
I think I'll have a build ready tomorrow.
About the TX, I can't test it myself and I'd have to look into the differences. Maybe later.

Well, I haven't and this isn't really the thread to ask that
Sorry people but it may take a little longer than I thought. I could be in way over my head with this. Had the build ready after some trouble with updater-script and update-binary from the kitchen so replaced those with the ones from gregbradley's V0-0-3. The flash went fine, root works and I haven't had any issues except the big one that wifi won't turn on. I know greg had the same problem but he took his fix offline from the topic so I can't see what the problem is exactly. Don't really have the time right now to do further troubleshooting.

Building new zip right now. But there's already a symlink wlan.ko pointing to /system/lib/modules/prima/prima_wlan.ko? So why doesn't it work?
The rooted rom is ready but I see that greg already beat me to it :$
Could've said something...
Well, I'll go ahead and make a deodexed one.
Unlike gregbradley I will put in a superuser app, namely ChainsDD's, just for ease.

I am sure once TiMiN8R has deodexed the rom for the T he will do one for the TX. Its only a few updater files that need changing to make one for the TX.
In the mean time you could try my TX deodexed rom, I am still looking for confirmation it works properly. follow the link in my signature.

No harm, no foul. To me this is more about the learning experience than getting a ROM out or anything.
My deodexed build goes into a boot loop and adb doesn't see the phone so I have no idea what's going on. Could have something to do with the playstationcertified.apk that can't be deodexed?
For now I'm focussing my attention and limited time on the T, since I can use those efforts for myself but I'm not ruling out releasing something for TX some day.

No its not to do with that, That would not deodex for me in the kitchen either, I just left it odexed.
What else did you do in the kitchen?
Nothing. I used the same working directory as the rooted Rom, which works fine. Deodexed and build (zipalign, make zip, sign). Tried reflash but with same. result.

[Q] Having problems [question is in thread, in need of help]

I am trying to port a ROM from the Galaxy W to the Exhibit using ROM Kitchen, I am on linux/ubuntu, and when it was done porting, I flashed it, It got to the boot screen, and after that, it started flickering, then it reboot, on and on. How do I fix this and what should I use to port instead?
I won't be able to help you with you problem. I can tell you though that it is not easy to narrow down some of thing like that either! There are a whole plethora of reasons and possibilities that could cause something of that nature

You were getting errors with updater scripts. Kithchen modifies updater scripts if you choose default options. Try to keep cm9 updater script for now. Just say no when it asks to modify updater script. Start with latest cm9 for exhibit. Make 1 change at a time and build on that. Test every build. That way you will know what went wrong. Getting remics is fairly easy once you get used to it. I had it for personal use but never put it out as focus was changing to jellybean.

This is a useless post. Also in the wrong section. You can't go a just port any rom you like. The creator of the rom has to give his blessing and be okay with someone porting it.
what's to stop someone from porting a ROM without the creator's OK?

XDA moderators. They will shut a thread down if permission wasn't received to use someone else's work
Now if he asked in general how to flash a ROM from another phone then it would be a little different. But if files are modified and shared without permission then it would be closed.
You can port it all you want. Just don't share/post it without permission.
Android: Software for some of the most advanced technology on the planet (the smartphone)... With kindergarden icons... Now that's pride in workmanship at its best.
If you don't share it and just want to use it for yourself you may be able to just remove the aroma installer which is fairly easy a tutorial can be found by searching for how to remove aroma installer on google. This may or may not work as I didn't look very hard at the rom lol

Have you already removed aroma? I probably couldn't be of much help without knowing what your flashing I could build it myself but I no longer own this phone so I would have no clue on whether or not it would flash correctly there will probably be a problem with the kernel.
Moved to general in hopes of letting the discussion continue under XDA rules.

anyone deodexed tmobile stock rom?

Has anyone deodex and successfully installed a stock system image yet? I haven't tried this yet but I am thinking of giving it a shot sometime soon. I was wondering if there were any potential issues of doing this such as wifi calling or what not. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm s-off'd and I'm hoping a deodexed system will allow xposed to successfully work.

Any luck? A deodexed rom would be a huge help for the development community to work on this phone, especially with WiFi calling and voice over lte.
I made a flashable zip, but forgot to change permissions on the apk's on it. It still booted up into android and then android performed it's "upgrading" function at startup and then it rebooted into a bootloop. I had to go somewhere so I ended up flashing back my backup and have not gotten back to it since then as I just got home. I'll try it some more tomorrow or over the weekend.
Any luck on the deodex process? If you need a tester, I'd be glad to help.

Hi,
No I haven't had time to work on it any further. I am using a mac so the deodex arm64 tools are all in windows so that's been one challenge, but I was able to do some of that work on my work laptop. The other issue is that I am having trouble getting my updater binary to work. It's failing in TWRP. I'm going to set up a linux environment and install archikitchen when I have more free time, but I've been pretty busy lately.
For whatever reason, I was able to get my original zip to install and reboot and even do the android upgrading function, but then it rebooted into a bootloop. I revised the script to set permissions properly, but then it just fails updating. Sighs.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I made a few different attempts at system images but all cause bootloops. I may have to try re-doing the deodex part again, but I used my own zip and script as well as one generated by ArchiKitchen and all caused bootloops, so it's probably my deodex files failing. Will try again when I have more free time.

Did you ever get your deodexed rom to work, or did you give up on that after getting the one posted by @Steel25? I've deodexed mine using the same tool as you, but now I'm stuck on how to get it to install on my device. All of the info that seems to be out there for this pertains to 32 bit roms, and doesn't seem to work on this one. I really appreciate the one provided by @Steel25, but I also really want to accomplish this myself. If someone can help me do this please post or link or PM me. Thank you in advance.

I am currently just using the ROM that @steal25 posted. I tried several things and for whatever reason, I couldn't get it working except for my initial time but that restarted into a bootloop. Archikitchen also doesnt have a deodexer for lollipop, so if there's a some info on what would work let me know.
A lot of things have happened in my personal life that has taken up a lot of my time so I dont have too much time to tinker around with this stuff lately.
I am currently using the one posted by @Steel25 with Xposed using Xtended settings, and everything is working well. My only complaint is that the cores 4-7 can only be clocked to a maximum of 1.5GHZ. However, I am still searching for a way to properly deodex the stock rom and make it installable.
