Seems like there is an update to the LG O2X (or not) - LG Optimus 2x

LG PC Suite IV says that there is an update available, and when I hit the update button it says your phone is already updated to the latest version.
It seems that they are trying to roll out an update...hope it's Gingerbread!
I am currently on:
Stock ROM:V10e
Froyo 2.2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Baseband 0725
Build FRG83G

Its one post below yours, where is write all about update.

We all have the same situation not only you.
In Europe is stil v10c.

In Europe, there's V10d. You only have to flash it with a kdz flash tool or SmartFlash.

updated today from 10.c to 10.d . nothing changed.

That's not right
Here's the changelog:
- Improved stability of the software (patches applied to reset terminal block)
- Fixed problems with audio playback on some TV connected with HDMI cable
- Solved the problems of abnormal termination of applications for LG Facebook, - Twitter for LG, LG and widgets for MySpace Music
- Fixed problems on FM radio (slowness in setting up and occasional cases of no audio)
- Fixed display problems in the Car Home
- Applied patch to avoid network even in the presence of absence of signal
- Applied security patches to Google Calendar, Picasa and address book to prevent unauthorized access to confidential information
- Implemented the Google Mobile Suite r10
- Implemented Google Maps version 5.7.0
- Improved update via FOTA
- Improved management of the pinch and zoom into the image gallery
- The alarm sounds even when you close the process forcibly
- Fixed problems with log-in account E-mail service, Yahoo and push activated

I think, the V10d is faster and more stable than the V10c.

No, we don't have it yet.
News about gb rolling out in Italy are all fakes.

yes, we haven't gb in italy.... we r waiting news from LG as everyone........

i used lg mobile support tool. i meant by nothing changed was that bsod is still there when a 3d game is played or its in my pocket. basically when the battery or the machine gets hot it freezes again. other things are pointles to me because the phone is still useless.
i got this phone for like 3 months and still searching for a solution. i bought it from an 3rd party seller from amazon. it had no warranty whatsoever. i'll never do a thing like that again. never buy anything from lg also.

Seems there is an update ?

New HTC Touch HD ROM available

A new ROM for the HTC Touch HD has been been released in Hong Kong. The update seems to address minor issues, but who knows what other goodies HTC slipped in there.
HTC says the update brings the ROM version up to 1.19.831.0 and the Radio version up to 1.09.25.14 and fixes:
* Resolves the following CSL Real-time Stock Quote & Foreign Exchange Service issues:
1. The last input box in Edit Stock cannot be selected by touch screen.
2. The stock ticker on top sometimes does not start from right to left.
3. After entering the stock symbol in the instant stock lookup, the Back button may not show on the right side.
* Fixes the font size display problem in Opera.
* Resolves the issue of getting an error when downloading songs from CSL WAP site with .m4a format.
The update is not available in other international sites yet. To see if it applies to your HD see the download page here. http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=453

How will this rom affect the hotfix ?
If you install this rom, can you assume it includes the hotfix? if not then the hotfix cannot be installed onto this rom version AFAICT.
Remove preinstalled applications?
I just updated to the newest Hong Kong Rom for my touch HD, but now I have all the crappy CSL pre-installed program icons filling my program list. Anyway to remove these icons?
the release dt of the rom as shown in the site is 12th dec 2008 which is like almost an year old... how can it be a new release?
I found a new release ROM

Just flashed this ROM, everything looks good and working except:
- the hardware keyboard mapping is out. Alphabets are fine, it is the numbers and punctuations that is a mess. w=1 e=2 r=3 s=4 etc tried using the build-in keyboard changer but didnt help
- if I go to landscape and then back to portrait, the call, application drawer and browser shortcut which is at the bottom of the desktop will disappear. it takes a reboot to bring it back
- Tried to get the battery icon to change using UOT kitchen by uploading the apk file from the zip package but it doesn't seem to work.
so far that's it.
thanks for the effort

2) My phone's a stock phone from Fido in Canada. I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. When I go to Settings > About Phone, my Build Number at the very bottom says "4.0.A.2.335"
How do I get SEMC 4.0.1.A.0.283?? I'd really like to use CM7!

Thanks for posting the link to 4.0.2.A.0.42. The previous rom link was missing.
Will this ROM work on my phone even though I've got an MK16a, and not an MK16i? I'm from Canada using a Fido phone, so I want to make sure my phone's Radio will work properly...this ROM is from the UK, so I'm not sure.
Just asking because on the Motorola Milestone, which I upgraded from, you had to select a different radio depending on which country you lived in.
Why do we even need to flash 4.0.2.A.0.42? Is CM7 not a complete ROM replacement? It is on the Milestone - doesn't matter what version you're coming from since CM7 replaced everything.
And FYI, the 10EUR donation was from me
Hope it goes to good use!

That would be great if you could post an SEMC update for the mk16a. One that will work in Canada
One final question: Is it possible to do a full nandroid backup prior to applying these updates, so that if I want to return to stock, I can?
I was thinking hotboot a recovery via fastboot, then take the nandroid, and then flash the SEMC update, and finally flash CM7.
The nandroid backup makes backup only of the TDs(/system,/data,etc), but it doesn't backups the kernel. As it's the same android & kernel version, it's mos probable the FXP kernel will work with the stock ROM, but I'm not sure.
Edit: I saw the Bi4ry post, and it says the stock ROM is not compatible with FreeXperia kernel.
Tried to use this instead of the official CM7 from cyanogenmod site but after boot.img it doesn't boot anymore and I can't enter CWM recovery....

Not to be rude, but... When will the FXP044 will be ready? I'm waiting for it. I used a unofficial port of CM7 on my old U20a, and it was really good, so I can't wait to try something better on my MK16a.
Also, will the update to 4.0.2.A.0.42 will be necessary anyway? Which part does the ROM would depend on it?

Follow this guide - worked at once:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781
(You set up a simple web-server on your machine, redirect all requests to LG to the local web-server and fools it into allowing you to flash the .kdz the usual way.)
I tried, but it doesn't work. Look at the screenshot...
I did everything like in the guide. What can I do?

You must have done something wrong in the hosts-file I think. That message should only appear if it still can contact the LG-servers. I may be wrong though.
I followed the guide, and as I said it worked.
Oh, and make sure to click "OK" in the webserver after setting the port-number, or it still listens on port 80, not 9002.
I did, the server has port 9002...
When I start lgmobile update tool, it says no internet connection, so the hosts file seems to work...
Maybe, doesn't hurt to try. I rebooted out of old habit.

What happens in the shttps console? Do you see any activity there?
If yes, did you make a www folder inside the shttps folder and extract the dowloaded www.zip to the correct place?
Good news, I found my mistake: I put the files in shttp instead of the www folder.
Now it works and I will try to make a deodexed and rooted zip.

[ROM] [XXEMR2] 4.1.2 JB With AMR-WB (HD Voice) Support on 3Three [9Feb]

Recently a few vendors in the UK have been doing some really good deals on the Galaxy S3 on the 3 network. Because of this I have just recently picked up one.
The issue with this is, because I didn't get the phone from Three it didn't come with their branded firmware. Normally this is a good thing but in this case it wasn't. The none branded firmware hasn't got 3's modem or CSC. That meant that AMR-WB wasn't enabled and the signal strength was pretty poor.
You can check to see if AMR-WB is enabled by dialling: *#197328640#
And selecting option 8
Anyway because of this I decided to roll my own ROM.
The ROM is based on the Official I9300XXEMR2 (4.1.2) Firmware and AMR-WB is confirmed working with Three networks in Europe.
You will need to be rooted and have CWM installed to be able to flash the ROM. Due to a recent exploit that has been found this can be done really easily.
All you need to do is side load the ExynosAbuse APK then run it. This will install the SU app giving you root access to the device.
Once SU is installed go to the Play Store and install ROM Manager . This app allows you to install CWM so you can flash the ROM.

You need to rip out the original modem, csc and T9DB from the firmware that came with the phone, then flash that back onto the custom ROM.
If you download the Branded Stock firmware you will find the CSC and T9DB in the cache.img
But this ROM will work in other countries on the 3 network.

The server may of been under heavy load when you tried downloading it. If it keeps becoming an issue I could get a torrent going.

No ypu don't need to wipe.
If the notification text is hardcoded as black in the app there is nothing that can be done.

AndiP is doing some cool changes with the new kernel including a couple of apps to change the audio and kernel settings.
Once its released as a stable release and the samsung sources are released for the hdmi, I will do another release.
I will also update the new firmwares (4.2 etc.) So they include the needed 3 network files.
So I will keep the ROM updated as needed.
But for now V3 is the final and won't be updated for awhile.
