For those that have the atrix lapdock...is there any hope for some kind of hardware/other hack that could make the bionic compatible with the atrix lapdock i already own!?
GRRRR @ MOTOROLA for not making it compatible...bad strategy..

Dilemma, Help me choose!

I bricked my captivate a little while back. Then I puchased an Atrix. I sent my captivate off, it was repaired, and I'll have it back in a couple days. Should I go back to the Captivate or keep using the Atrix?

unless the atrix has 2nd init or an unlocked bootloader, stay with cappy, otherwise bail to the atrix

I'm using it completely stock. If it wasn't for sideload wonder, I would go crazy. I love the power of this phone but hate motoblur. I also miss that AMOLED.

They have. They also have a stable gingerbread. However, they don't have the dev following the captivate does.

return atrix. keep cappy. upgrade to sgs II variant when applicable.
I plan on giving the atrix to her if I do. She needs a new phone. I have another upgrade coming for that SGSII. I surely can't live without one of those.

So what's good here?

The droid bionic a device that I pass my gaze over since I still had a ongoing contract with my incredible until earlier today. I received the email from motorola letting me know I just won a free bionic. (yay)
So whats the hype? What should I expect? How do I make the best of it?
Thanks!
Root....install kejars deodexed debloated rom. And the bionic bootstrap of course runs smooth and fast as heck

Yep, this. This thing was virtually un unusable out of the box. All the devs are the reason I've kept it for so long. That being said, I'm jumping when sprint releases their gnex.

Might go with this .. I havent been satisfied with how my revo works since I got it. Thought updates would help but no luck ...seems to me a big memory leak somewhere I can't even run my work app. Without issues and it is pretty rudementary ...my OG Droid worked great til screen died ..not a fan of LG myself either. So we shall see how it goes .....thanks for your input

I just bought my wife a RAZR MAXX and I'm impressed. I'd say RAZR MAXX all the way. The Revolution isn't bad once you get Gingervolt on it though. It's useless without it IMO.

Personally I'd keep the REVO (make sure it's ROM'd) and wait for the Galaxy SIII.

It isn't in the "before 2013" category...the description would have stated "Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) before 2013."
If you are going to release a phone, you need to push upates faster. Our devs on here could have had it built a long time ago and they have full access to everything. Moto needs to work faster and AT&T needs to stop sucking. They need to be a team for once and push this thing through!

Actually they said $100 towards a new Motorola phone on upgrade if you're eligible AND you have to send then your current device. Just to clarify for anyone who didn't read past the headline of that article back when it was new.

Yep. I like Motorola but I don't know what the hell they were thinking with that. Maybe they thought it worked for Samsung when they released the S3? I have no idea but it's a horrible proposal for anyone who knows how to sell their device themselves.

hard to believe Motorola these days.
I find anything Morotorla says these days. I've been trying to get the upgrade for my Atrix 4G and NO ONE at MOTOROLA has a clue about the program...... AT&T is just as bad.. Maybe we should actually blame GOOGLE, after all they do own MOTOROLA Mobility!!!

Not to mention by the time they get an update out for anything, there will most likely be custom ROMs that run better than JB

I just don't understand the point. I didn't see a LOT of improvement on JB over ICS; so far I'm pretty happy with the stock rooted phone OS.
will JB cure cancer ?
I see it as a nice to have, not a deal breaker.

Atrix 2 has received JB 4.1.2 update before Droid Razr XT912 received it. It's only for China version of Atrix 2. It's funny that they abandoned it on AT&T version.
I believe we will receive JB 4.2.2 after Droid Razr HD.

Good, with any luck it'll work for us without any more work than build.prop mods and removing NFC.apk.
Even better is when it finally is released Moto will also release the 4.2.2 kernel source which SHOULD be a 3.4 kernel.
As far as 4.2.2 is concerned, all I really care about is Moto's kernel source and if that'll help out Epinter and the rest gang to get us pure AOSP....not even for AOSPA. I'd just like to run the actual Android OS w\o any carrier bs or it being CM or whatever -- I never have :crying:.
I gotta find some triple a's, my keyboard is about to die and my wired board had a coffee incident.
Mr. skeevy, I have a question... What's this for?
