Battery freezes on a certain % may or may not be fully charged. Mine after unplugging and plugging finaly showed 100%
When charging ...screen is not very responsive.
3rd bug i noticed BLUR still sux. Makes phone feel slower than my Incredible 2.

1. Not getting that freezing percentage...
2. Screen is completely responsive for me during charging.
3. The GB Blur has *actually* impressed me. The launcher feels smooth and I actually like the Blur widgets...call me crazy.
Try rebooting the phones, battery pulls, or charging from an outlet instead of a computer.

I am with you. No issues so far!!

Mine has been plugged into a charger (not a USB port) for 5 hours. Started at 40% and has maxed at 60%. When I get home I'm going to go ahead and shut her down and try a different charger. May be some funky batteries. Nothing else has bothered me (and to tell the truth I've been messing around with it every 10 minutes so it may actually be charging!)

I am... One thing I just noticed is that the launcher is NOT tied to the widgets with blur. I am running ADW EX and I can still use the Blur Software and widgets.
That's sweet.

I did hear they were make changes to it so this should be good..

Blur is improved but still garbage..... one thing i will say is RECEPTION is the best i ever had!!!!
My incredible 2 sucked.... this is getting amazing reception. Thats why i got it. Moto is great there.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App

So far the only "bug" I have found is reception/signal strength is crappy. With my Bolt I was able to get 4g in my home and 4g at work. At my desk now I get no signal (Bolt 4g 1-2 bars), on my drive home tends to drop to 3g often (bolt stays on 4g), and at home 3g only one bar (bolt 4g 2 bars).
I really am begging to like the Bionic love having the moto keyboard back but the radio is making me hesitate keeping it.

I'll second this. Reception has been fantastic for me as well. Significantly better than the Incredible and Fascinate I used prior to this. Moto always has had good reception IME. Some of the best.
I just really, really, don't like this screen. I'm spoiled coming off of Super AMOLED from Samsung. It's not as bad as others I've seen in my day, but I certainly expected better from a flagship phone.
Aside from that and a locked boot loader, the phone's actually pretty good. Love the LTE speeds and how snappy it is.

Have to agree.. in my house going between my tbolt and bionic I get consistanly better 4g reception witht he tbolt.. (running shifttheory thanks droidtheory)
I was thinking maybe it was the rainstorms here but after moving the sim back to the tbolt that is not the case.

well after checking the status in the phone they are both around the same dec... -88 to -91.. in the same location.. however the tbolt shows more bars...
Also I do notice that the speed seems to be a little better on the bionic...
now if a decent theory rom could come out for this...

You can't judge by bars. Some Roms show different bar ratings than stock.
I'm getting about the same reception between the two.

Spb shell 3d on nexus s

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone is running this launcher on their phone and if it lives up to the hype. 15 dollars is kind of much for an app but this thing looks awesome.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Not running it, looks pretty sweet though. Wondering how much battery life gets used.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
I tried it with my Nexus S.
Guess what, it used up 55mb of RAM for launcher itself and 20mb for the widget.
Battery life was normal, just keep in mind that you cant run much apps otherwise, it will kill your launcher
I tried every launcher in the market (waste too much money through, but it worth for a experience and choose the best for myself).
I stick to MIUI launcher (iphone style).
I suggest you to try REGINA 3D launcher, is it pretty much the same
However, it's FREE
I tried the beta before it was on the market and liked it. I bought it when it came to market. I'm very happy with it. I don't use all the time. I switch back and forth between the stock launcher and the SPB. It sure is great to show to you I-phone loving friends. It's the WOW factor.
I'm using it and I love it! Its expensive! For an app
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Well if love the app, then its worth it. But I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it, but maybe sometime in the future. I'm still using the gingerbread launcher and its going pretty good. Ha. Not to many features, but its alright.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
No scrollable widgets, resource hog = fail
Remember when SPB didn't make bloated software???
Oh wait..
m on stock n it works like a charm .. i got it cracked ..
battery life is like barely 3-5% drain more but u expect tht .. yea ram is eaten up but ur still left with arnd 100mb which is more than enuf to run anything ..
i remember on my milestone being happy when i got 45mb free
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVU84J1ShSQ
I bought it and I wish I didn't its not for me I went back to Go Launcher. I like to hide the status bar and I like swipes among a few other things that Shell don't offer. I wish I would of tried it first. Oh well you live and you learn
It's the only launcher I've used since it came out, love it. Battery life has been stable, I charge over night and it lasts me all day.

I just get force close after force close on my ns4g. I'm running cm7 nightly 63, and the matr1x 5.5 kernel.
Tried a "free" version and paid, same result.

Same thing here !
I bought mobile shell 3d 2.1 and it gives me a black screen on start up !
I'am also using ns4g
I have no problems with spb on my NS4G. Runs wonderfully.

Every time I run Angry Birds, SPB reloads in my Nexus S. I'm going back to my Go Launcher...
Tried this and had no problems with it but its a bit too much "stuff" really. I prefer to keep it simple, so I'm not really using it.

Ive used it as my main launcher for a while now but im going to seek others soon as it never gets updates with new widgets and uses 75mb ram on my ns. Also the loading is a ***** especially when it fc when u need your phone :s
so far so good
Using it for couple of days, its a RAM hog, battery life is no different from Zeam. but it freezes in sms and call widgets. yaa too expensive, they are working on a real3D screen now... hope i get my regular updates. it has a diff color temperature..my nexsus s visually looks like its 2.3.1
Used it about one month as main launcher. For me it was too much design and not enough speed + it freezed a couple of times. At the end I can say nice but stock is better.

Looking for the perfect rom.... For me.

Don't worry I'm not asking "Which rom is the best". After all thats an insult to developers and its a matter of preference anyway. I'm asking which one meets my needs or most of them anyway. I'm looking for a rom with the following:
*No annoying "android is upgrading" on every boot
*All animations enabled
*wifi tethering unlocked
*ability to disable lte and use hspa+/Edge only
Other things that would be nice but not as important:
*bloatware removed (I can do this with TB anyway if rooted)
*ASOP notification bar theme, no more gb looking icons (probably can do this with uot kitchen dunno)
*"visual voicemail" button removed from dialer Google voice button instead? (Is this possible? If anything just linking gvoice to it would work)
*Sense 4 launcher or just a modified 3.6 launcher with Widgets in the app drawer (I don't think it exists but I know I could just as well use apex or nova but I love the sense Widgets)
*removed recent apps from notification area (whats the point? I can just hold home anyway)
*configurable quick settings
Also ROM has to work on the HTC vivid on at&t. Quick question too does permaroot mean permanent forever? Like there's no way back? Also I noticed the vivid tools and the rooting ics guide which one should I use? And lastly do I need to achieve s-off or is rooting enough? I apologize for all the questions but I came from the captivate and its stock with an unlocked bootloader and almost designed for rooting and custom roms
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
So you would defenitely want either PGs rum float or (just Google: androidninjas)
Or wild child's from. Google wcxxperia...
As for permroot , it means it is permanent you want loose root on reboot or power downs. But not permanent as in never go back. There are a hand full of ways to go back...
Try using the super guide first. I think In the guide he puts a link to his toolkit. But since you aren't really familiar with this use the super guide. It goes step by step.
Hope this helped.

How about you read all of the ROM's threads, test each one out and see which one you like.
I've been reading up on them but its a bit confusing ATM.
you can't go wrong with the Virtuous Inquisition rom or the wajee ones, search the development thread, there are like 5 new roms.
Yeah gotta admit with the great one x reviews and the gs3 launch I was starting to regret getting this phone but seeing the recent surge in development makes me feel more confident. I originally didn't plan on rooting and installing a custom rom but I kept my captivate stock for all of 2 weeks and its killing me how limited I am to customizing plus I loved using my cappys wifi tether with my flyer and lte is eating my batteries and killing my phone when using Pandora over Bluetooth! If anything I may just root soon so I can tweak the phone
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Sounds like either the virtuous or Wajee's from would be a good choice for you. They are ports of sensation rooms so all three current ones have hspa/edge connectivity only from what I've seen. They are very slick and quick with running either the stock ics launcher (wajee's unsensed) or apex (virtuous). There might be a few bugs still being worked out but those are the closest to what you seem to require at the moment!
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Yeah I was looking at both of those. Does hspa+ aka fake 4G work?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
as far as I can tell all signs points to yes. I ran some speed test and they are holding close to what I got stock in my non-lte town
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Cool. Only thing is I do love the sense widgets and the lockscreen shortcuts. Guess you can't have it all.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
The unsensed beta has lock screen shortcuts, but no HTC Widgets tho unfortunately. That's a sacrifice for such a nice rom. But with beautiful widget you don't really need the HTC Widgets.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Yeah I got beautiful Widgets and fancy Widgets actually. Bought fancy Widgets when I got my captivate and beautiful Widgets was on sale for 10 cents during Google's 10 days of 10 cent apps. They do a great job no doubt but one thing they can't do is animations. But they do have an advantage with the ability to link custom weather apps because honestly the sense one is meh.
The unsensed one must of borrowed that from cm. CM7 had the rings lock screen where you could add a third ring and add up to 4 shortcuts with it. What is the aosp ics lock screen like? The way Google made it sound was lock screen shortcuts are built in. Honestly as long as I can access my camera I'm good.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
From what I can tell its pretty much the same lock screen then. Camera/phone/SMS/unlock from that screen.one bonus too is lock screen control for music apps . Rdio/slacker is so much better now
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Sounds good I'll give them a try when I get time to sit down with this thing. My flyer took a bit to get it rooted, lots of adb commands etc. Don't think the vivid will be as bad as the flyer doesn't have a GUI to use.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Rooting the phone is quite simple. Even doing the s-off is fairly a easy process when it comes down to it. Follow the guide and you should be fine. If you need help post here or jump on the irc, a lot of smart people hang out there and love helping out.

Wait, they don't have LTE? Why would that be the case, since it is using a Holiday radio? I personally haven't tested it, as I don't live in an LTE area.
Also, Virtuous is using Nova, which I instantly replaced with the stock ICS launcher.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA Premium App
I don't even really care about lte now. Only real use of it is to show off your download speed to your friends. But it eats your battery alive and causes overheating issues and just pointless anyway with a 2 gig data cap. When I went on vacation a coupled weeks ago I went out of lte coverage and battery life was worlds better and I was still getting 12 meg down. 12 meg is what my home internet is so hspa+ is all you really need.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
As far as I've seen the ports don't have late because they are straight ports. These roms don't have lte support built in. You can confirm this by going in the dialer and typing *#*#4636#*#* and under phone information. The option for late isn't available. But like the op said. Its mostly not required while using your phone 90% of the time. It just uses your data a lot faster and doesn't really change much else in your web browsing experience.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
Hey one quick question. I was looking at the Junopeterbear S-off and it looks kind of complicated...wire trick? Do I need to even concern myself with that or is just unlocking the bootloader and obtaining root access enough? ugh... I have to take the phone apart? Man I don't even wanna mess with that. Hopefully they'll have an ADB method or cwm flashable method in the future. I'll just stay away from that!
Edit: yeah sure enough the screw on the panel I need to pull off has a sticker that says "void" on it. I don't want to void my warrenty. Obviously flashing a rom technically does that but only if they can proove it! Might be different if I ever even once made it through a contract without having to swap my phone out for various hardware failures (Captivates speaker broke swapped it out and 3 months later the power button died on the refirb)

Stock ICS leak vs CM9 vs AOKP

Just wanting to know what you all think. Not too much discussion going on here about them. I've used them all, good experiences. Pro, cons, whatever. I personally like the stock .230 leak. I find the smart actions very nice. Also like the app drawer with the different groups.

Personally, I like the 230 update... plan on updating to 232 soon, but holding off because every time I flash, another one comes out.
I'm not one for flashing nightly roms, but I've been itching to try CM9
Yeah I am a little hesitant about flashing .232. But I think it's good news that these leaks keep showing up.
I used the CM9 from the .2233 leak and wasn't overly impressed. I feel AOKP has more options. But these Moto leaks are just so nice in my taste.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I prefer AOKP but there are still some issues with it such as static in the Bluetooth. I have 2 phones on me all day at work and the use of a headset is a must. I am on stock .232 with Apex, init.d, and pull down toggles. I have pulled all the bloat and system crap that I don't ever use. There isn't really much at all running in the background. I have pulled some init.d scripts from different roms to speed things up more but not sure which one I'm going to use yet. As soon as AOKP has the BT issue fixed I will be flashing it though.

I stayed on the .232 leak for a couple days, enjoyed the new "Blur" but there were just a couple thing i didn't like. The launcher was alright a little prehistoric compared to today's standards with Apex and especially Nova being so fast and smart. Not being able to change the Lockscreen shortcuts aggravated me but overall the Lockscreen with its separate Camera, Phone, Messaging, Sound settings, and Lock is nice.
But after I flashed CM9 i wont look back. You can customize everything, there is shortcuts to everything, its very responsive, and Cyanogenmod Team really made there stock applications wonderful. You can tell they took there time in making everything run smoothly and look great as well.
So i would go with CM9 especially Axiobeam.06_TARGA. Thats what i flashed and i love it. It includes alot of extras worth having.
I'm currently on 232 and love it. Tried AOKP and CM9, and while they are both solid, they both lack one CRUCIAL feature- Webtop.
Since I am addicted to my Lapdock, I'm staying with Stock ICS until a good rom comes along with a working Webtop.
Not a big deal though since stock ICS is pretty damned-near perfect.
The CM9 u tried, was it the unofficial one ported by dhacker29?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda app-developers app
While I do love the features of CM9, there are small things that I really like about the Bionic ICS, like the text app. I like the black background versus the white of CM9/AOKP. I haven't toyed around with Apex enough to know its potential, but I have no complaints about the stock launcher.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I've flashed 2231, 2233, and now 232, and all of them have had constantly high CPU and RAM usage, making my phone painfully slow to use. However, on the AOKP ICS-leak builds I had no such slowdowns (despite other bugs), with almost all of the same apps installed.
Has anyone else experienced poor performance with the stock leaks?
Occasionally I notice the slow downs, but have definitely noticed the high cpu usage, even after switching governors.

You really only need to ask the question once in a given forum. But honestly I haven't noticed in on either the ICS leaks I've used.
EDIT:
Actually I just noticed it but I think it is as designed. If my phone is locked, not just screen timed out, and I have an unlock pattern (probably pin too) the status bar does not open. If the screen is timed out the status bar can be pulled open.
Not sure, and don't see why it would be a deal breaker. Currently using AOKP with no problems at all.
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
Only thing that's turning me away from cm9, AOKP or even liquid is the crt animation is down towards the bottom of the screen and when I scroll from screen to screen is glitchy unlike the ics leak

Yeah that was bothering me so I turned CRT off. I just recently installed CM10 and its nice aside from the lack of camera. Definitely very promising.

SafeStrap Battery Bug Fix?

Is there a fix to the battery bug where ROMs flashed in Safestrap would not report the correct % battery? Is this an issue with the Safestrap software or the ROM (I'm using CM10). Will flashing Minimoto GB fix that problem?

The only bug I see is that within safestrap the battery % is still buggy
Well safestrap 3.10 should be out soon, so it might be fixed in that update

So over the last couple of months I've been burning through 2 batteries (or a recharge) a day...could this be caused by SafeStrap itself? I've got SS 3.05 and I'm just running the stock rom but battery life has been terrible. I've been looking at all my apps to find a culprit but now I'm wondering if it's SS itself.
Have you tried charging overnight and calibrating the battery?
Sent from my DROID3 using xda app-developers app
Safestrap only affects battery while it's booted into SS. What apps do you have installed?

Yes I have, multiple times. I've stripped out apps that seemed to be battery hogs but to no avail. Next step would be to remove safestrap and/or factory reset and completely start fresh. Was hoping that this was a known SS problem.

So while running the stock rom SS should have no effect?
As for apps the worst offender I have is Tunein radio. I know that app eats battery but I'm having problems even when I don't use it. Beyond that I'm just running normal apps. Facebook, Google+, Dolphin browser, Tweetdeck, K9 Mail...those are my daily use apps. I have others installed of course but rarely use them.
If you have facebook, google+, tweetdeck and k9 all automatically syncing all the time that would put a heavy draw on your battery. Your battery which is probably getting pretty old at this point and will have lost some capacity. Also if you live in an area with poor cell signal and your phone is constantly searching for a better signal that will run you down in no time.
What do your battery usage graphs look like at the end of a normal day/charge? Which processes are the largest consumers? What does the phone signal line look like? If there is a lot of red and dark yellow there then that's probably the culprit.
I would suggest checking the battery. Take it out and physically inspect it, look to see if it's bulging in the middle. You can also try spinning it on a table, the more its bulging to better it will spin.

DUDE! Amazing call, I would never have thought of that. I have two batteries, one spins like a top and the other barely moves! The spin test was the kicker, to look at the battery I can't see any bulge. Funny thing is the bad battery is the newer of the two. Guess I'll be buying a new battery and giving that a shot. Thanks for the info.

Ya they have a limited number of charge cycles. A friend of mine has the same phone, but does lots of video streaming, she was having to charge it all the time and she ended up with the same problem. And it was a totally stock device

So I borrowed the extended battery (vzw bf6) that my son had in his old D3 and suddenly my phone is working as it should. It would appear that my problem was 1) an old and tired original battery and 2) a second replacement battery (vzw, not aftermarket) that was defective. Have never had a problem with a replacement battery before so it never occurred to me.

In all honesty...

This phone sucks at multitasking. Galaxy S2 has a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor as well, but it multitasked with ease. This phone feels like an old person that's gonna croak over and die whenever I multitask things. Ex: I'd be downloading an app and go to my messages to read a new message. The phone lags like hell before it opens the message.
The only reason I haven't traded it or sold it is because the only phone I'd consider purchasing right now is an iPhone 4s. I agree android is a bit better but I got bored of it.
But the multitasking problem is the main reason why I dislike this phone (aside from locked BL and and 3 giant buttons taking up the screen.)

I haven't had any problems so far even on stock rom . Maybe you are a mad because of the locked bootloader just like mostly anyone here but don't worry hopefully we will get it unlocked .

It really has nothing to do with BL. Lol.
My is just very laggy when it comes to multitasking. It was worse on stock but still laggy on Golden Rom.

I've had this issue on stock, joker and batakang.
I haven't noticed at all...
Personally, the ENTIRE time I've had my Atrix, I never noticed any multitasking lag...
Then again, it all depends on how you use the phone in the first place...
I mainly download, tweet, listen to music and (attempt to) clear the MGS VR missions on mine and I can switch back and forth rather smoothly...
the phone lags when trying to do more than one thing at a time, on any rom.
yes the phone sucks.

Have you frozen most, if not all the stock bloatware, have a static wallpaper (nothing that moves), doth thou use task killers?
Oh and what's your usual CPU usage? (What's your hourly average... guestimate if you have to...)
I used pimp my rom and set the oom values to medium and used greenify to hibernate apps and my phone is running great.

Mind posting in the greenify thread which apps you froze?
Sent from my phone.
Haven't noticed any lags on AHD. Flashing to JB and notice some improvements in speed.

Then we do most of the same. If I download an app (let's say Firefox mobile.) I'd go back to twitter, but it'd take a while for twitter to come back up. Even if I don't clear my recent apps, it will still lag when I'm on there.

It would only get laggy if you have a ton of "recent apps"...
I usually keep 5~7 apps recent and clear away the apps I don't need to keep "recent"
Oh and you could use greenify too while you're at it...

If you have to do all this then you are proving his point.
I buyed my AHD at 250$ factory unlock on kijiji in very good condition and for the price I think its a very verry good phone I was going to buy a one S at 320 when I saw this phone . Now Im so happy with it no lags at all. If someone unlock the bootloader it will be a purchase of gold

I never said I used all that
I just use Greenify and switch between a static and live wallpaper all the time... (I'm very indecisive...)
All I did was mention various tactics to to help... Oh and to mention that task killers are bad... Just the usual stuff...
I've tried using greenify and can't get much out of it because you cant do anything with system apps.
That's why you pair it with other battery saving apps like juice defender...
IMO I used JD's Extreme Settings, and just go with that and greenify.
I haven't charged from yesterday, leaving about 53% (I had 55% at midnight, left wi-fi on...)
I've watched Skyfall (in glorious HD) with wi-fi on in the background, and I'm about to start the last Ninja VR Mission for MGS with 32% left.
No Lag, No Issues. If people still insist on complaining about the phone, so be it. This phone is a diamond in the rough, you have to be the one to make it what is.
