[Q] [root] Chainfire3D on Bionic? - Motorola Droid Bionic

Has anybody tried [root] Chainfire3D on their bionic? Has it worked? Did it blow up your phone and maim bystanders?

I am interested to know as well. I am considering picking up a Bionic, and without custom ROM support yet, Chainfire3D is the only way I know of to get a good "night mode" (red-only display).

Cmon somebody try it, I want to know too

The easiest way to find out is to try it yourself.

Somebody who has to skills to revert any possible damage should try.

I installed the free version and the only game I can't get to work is Riptide. The game crashes on start. Everything installs fine though.

Can you make the screen go red, in that dark mode?

Yes you can.

I just installed the Pro version on my Bionic and it does work.Simply follow the instructions. There are a few steps afterwards but once you load the proper drivers, set the default open GL to whatever driver you need like Nvisia and market fix so you can view the hidden apps, you're good to go. Don't try to get the Tegra 2 Nvidia games from the Tegra Zone. Get them from the market.

Just tried it on mine. Everything seems to work flawlessly on mine.

You guys are able to play Gameloft HD games?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium

Yes chainfire3d works
Using night mode right now. Nice to have.
SuperDim does not save the darkness setting though, it thinks the screen is OLED. Which I know is unrelated to chainfire3d but just a observation.

Homerun Battle 3D Cheats

Anyone with cheats for this game .. need more goldballs..
I figured out if you backup HRB3D data using mybackup pro...
1) buy everything you want
2) sync with server
3) restore data then sync again
You keep all the items you've bought and get all the goldballs you backup-ed with + achievements

Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
yes. try camtasia or hypercam.

I've tried to capture my o2X output too but with little luck. Android apps just don't work because of the tegra2 soc. Only thing that worked somehow was to display the O2X on the PC screen and capture it but it was laggy...
Ya there's a method on YouTube where u display the screen on the computer n capture it but it is really laggy not on the actual phone screen but on the computer

How you get it to work on the bionic?
Did you just flash the file?
Which ics rom will it work with?
Sorry for all the questions

If it works on one, I'd assume it works on all of them since they all have very similar issues with what's working and not working. There's only one way to find out for sure though. Have fun.

Thanks I'll with it tonight

I had problems with getting 4g to stick when I tried it, and it didn't seem as smooth to me. I do like the options of aosp roms though.

Axiom has ran the smoothest for me. I can't wait until Motorola releases an official version so I can have my Motorola email app and eat my ice cream too. (Motorola email app is a necessity for me. There isn't any as good that can do what it can do, least for the one feature I need it for. Copying email addresses out of the middle of a message by hard pressing on it)

I'll have to try those out. The Motorola email and all in one messaging app are the only things holding me to blur. Most mail apps I've found will allow you to send an email to the email address found in the middle of a message but won't let me copy and paste the email address from within the message.

Here's something else for the Droid 3 that we may want to keep our eyes on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497884
Brighter days are ahead for the people who stuck with the bionic. Personally, once we get more roms, I like the bionic more than the nexus. Just don't like the 3 button setup on the nexus.

Here's the one I have been using. I don't know if its been updated but I also ran into the same problem so I got an earlier version off 4sync. I believe the one I'm running is 3.0.4. I have no issues at all with it and it's extremely handy on the go.
