FM radio
He said these were from his X, no instructions or anything and I haven't tried it.
I did notice an app called fm something in the bionic but its not in the app drawer.....

Are these safe to download?

Wow! All I needed was the second file (MotoFMRadio.apk). Installed it and it works great! The first file couldn't be installed, presumably because it's a system file and already on the phone.
Thank you, thank you!

You just downloaded and installed APK like any other app and it worked fine?
You just installed the MotoFM apk right?

I have the Droid 2 Global and tried to install the FM radio app. Installed fine but when I load the app, have headphone in, it just searches saying something like "loading FM stations" and just spins.
Anything I'm missing?

Is there anyway for this to work thru bluetooth? Anyway to record into MP3?

Thanks a lot I'm listening to my favorite radio station on my Droid Bionic now! Pretty cool!

sweet...awesome find!

Not that I see, ask for headphones before it even let's you in to program. Maybe there's an app that can fake it

Considering it uses the headphone cord as an antenna, I'm thinking no bluetooth, and the recording is pretty unlikely, too.

I wonder what headphone will give good reception. The white apple earplug sucks as reception. In Orange County and can barely get any station without some major static. Like 102.7..so much static.

This is pretty awesome. I come from an OG Droid and it didn't have the FM option.
What I always thought would be cool would be if we could turn out phones into FM transmitters so we can play music from our phones in our cars. The iPod's have those adapters that can do this, but since we are Android users and not Apple, how sweet would it be if the phone could be the transmitter! I know, another piece of hardware to integrate... But if it can receive FM now, it might be able to transmit?

Nope, a receiver is not a transmitter. What you would need is a transceiver.

[Q] Keyboard open "click" disappearing

You know that really nice solid click the screen makes when you open the keyboard? Well, I'm on my third Droid 3 now, and every single one, after two weeks, the sound gets quieter and quiter, until it's complete mush upon opening the keyboard. My friend has had his Droid 3 for about the same time, and doesn't have this issue. Has anyone else had it? Does anyone know of a possible fix somehow? I know it's silly, but I'm picky haha!
I have not had any problems with mine, maybe u push it up to hard.

Perhaps, but I really don't think I was hard on it at all. :/
Well at least Verizon keeps giving you new ones.

Been using it quite a lot the last month too!

Extra mods such as; thunderbolt?

Hey guys.
I was recently looking around in the Revo forums, and I heard about this "Thunderbolt script"?
I was wondering what it does and if it has any negative impacts on the phone Any risks?
Thank you!
I would not recommend crossing roms or mods. I accidently used the wrong one and let me tell you I almost threw my phone out the window. Lots of work getting the phone fixed.

I used the thunderbolt mod, it increased my battery life, also it slightly made it faster.
I used the thunderbolt mod and the only problem I had was Bluetooth crashing when I attempted to pair my phone with anything.

You can flash it over anything, there is just no guarantee it will work. It has fixed issues over many Roms for me though. I would make sure you haven't frozen any apps that stop Bluetooth from working though first (software update, stock music player).

Yeah leave the stock music.apk alone, unfortunately it's a critical part of the Revo/LG Android build. Your phone will not work properly without it.

New MIUI User with Questions

Just installed MIUI-20120608 on my Bionic, switching from GummyNex 1.2. I like it so far but I THINK I need a little schooling on how to set it up.
First, the reason I switched in case it matters, I loved GummyNex but the video recorder never worked, I guess it is an option that they never got to work from what I read, I can't seem to get it to work on the MIUI rom either although I want to believe it will since it seems to recognize it has a video recorder.
Secondly, I am having some issues getting the data to work, I saw online that there are some steps to go through to get it to work (go to phone info>switch to GSM only; go to setting>mobile networks>CMDA/LTE....) which works but everytime my phone reboots I have to repeat the process. There has to be a way to set it up once and thats it.
Thirdly, there are a LOT of flexibility with this ROM, AWESOME. But I don't know where to start, what all the options mean to me. Instead of trial and error I am hoping some of the experienced users could share some of the best "setups" with me?
Thanks guys!
.... Miui? Where did you find that rom? Every Dev related to Miui stopped working on that ROM sadly which means its out of date now. Unless I'm out of the loop on Miui LOL.

You can use it. Just there will be no one to answer your questions. So your back to trial and error.

Personally I wish Miui would come back again I know others are working on a in version for other phones but the bionic keeps getting left behind even though its a very good phone.

I know that, but I have an NFC bracelet that i was going to try and get it to use it as the skiptag, because NFCSecure isnt the perfect option, but Moto Skip would be.

Cool. Just downloaded. Will try later if it works on my razr HD with a regular NFC-Chip
I have a setup in tasker that's really working flawless with a selfmade felt-skip-like clip, but I still want to see (if the app works) if the app is better than my tasker setup.
I just tried installing the app, but I get a parsing error. Any ideas on how to get it to work?

It's working really great using the defender case. I just don't use my holster though. I keep my phone in my pocket. It fits nicely although its sometimes hard to get out of the pocket due to the silicone layer.
I can't download the Moto skip app from play store (not available in my country) to my Moto x. The instructions that came with the skip said that I needed to download the app before trying to use the skip.
Is the linked one above the newest one?
EDIT; Never mind, it was already installed on my phone (I checked on google play on my computers browser). May have something to that I got kitkat from factory.

[Q] 4.4 Touchless control doesn't work when aux cable is plugged into phone

Title says it. It always worked no sweat on 4.2. Now whenever I have the headphone jack plugged in it doesn't register any voice commands or input at all. Kind of annoying if you use your phone while driving to listen to music. So my question is has anyone else noticed or can test theirs for me? Am I missing a toggle in the menus somewhere? It's really frustrating me.
- Nate
Saw this yesterday...Very frustrating as you said...This used to work in 4.2 right?
Yeah it definitely worked in the previous version.

Just a little update today....it started working again. Sort of. I basically have to yell at my phone to get it to recognize ok Google now. So it does work, but not at all like it did.

Strange, mines works as normal. Had a text conversation today with my buddy while dodging shi**y traffic and Lady Gaga blaring (don't ask) and it didn't miss a word.

I can't open that link (despite being registered with Moto too). Were you ever able to get it to work normally again?
I have the same problem on my new Moto X and haven't found a solution anywhere.
