Best bet is to grab the official RUU for your phone and try running it reset and restore your phone. The offical RUUs are in the Development section

i wish can get the answer on this thread..
later if i bricked my phone, so i know how to fix..

Thanks...
i tried couple of RUU
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.12.405.7_Radio_20.2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M_release_187295_signed

But i am getting RUU Error 130 and 132 respectively. Bootloader is locked S On is this causing the issue ?

Yes, i meant that method in that thread.
No, the stock ruu .exe file will run from bootloader.
Also, very important, if you were s-off before this happened, do not flash anything lower than the version it shows in your above photo. The "2.12.720.5" is your mainversion.
So i would create a goldcard, and run this ruu...

No, although if you had s-off with revolutionary then you wouldn't need the goldcard, but because you are s-on you need the goldcard. You will s-off once you get your phone booting again.

Step by step instructions : For making the goldcard (Simplest Method - Tried and Tested Working) :
Connect the memory card via the Phone (Use data mode/Disk Drive Mode , Not sync mode ) . Or you can also use a Memory card Reader if you have the MMC SD Card adapter for the Micro SD Card .
Format the microSD card to FAT32 format (Do not format it in NTFS Format ).
Now open the Goldcard helper tool Which you have Already downloaded and installed it in your Mobile device . And click Goldcard Helper Icon In your Menu Screen .
The Goldcard Helper tool Will Automatically generate the Reverse CID Values for your MMC And The C drive of your System. Use the first MMC Card reversed CID Value , NOT the C: Drive Reverse CID Value .

Yes, you can make a goldcard on another phone and use it in your IncS.

a friend of mine sent me a goldcard he used this on his Incredible S
i did the following steps mention in this thread
The Downloaded Image from The Email Will Help you to Make your Goldcard For Flashing Your HTC Incredible-S S710E .
Now Open the HxD hex editor. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you must run the application With administrator Previledges (Run as an Administrator).
Go to the 'Extra' menu and select 'Open Disk'. Under physical disk, select Removable Disk (your microSD card) , now uncheck 'Open as Readonly' and click OK. Note that you should select physical disk NOT the logical disk.
This is important (Choosing the Physical Disk NOT The Logical Disk) else you will not have a Goldcard And your Android Phone will not Load the Image File That you place on your Goldcard MMC !
Now Go to the 'Extra' menu again and select 'Open Disk Image'. Open the goldcard image that you received by email. When prompted for 'Sector Size' , select the option - "selecting 512 (Hard disks/Floppy disks)" and then click OK.
You will see two tabs in the Hex editor window - One is your removable disk, the other is your goldcard image. Click on the goldcard image tab. Go to the 'Edit' menu and choose 'Select All' option then select the 'Edit' menu again and select - 'Copy' . The selected sectors will be selected .
Now Click on the 'Removable Disk' tab. Highlight offset (line) 0000000 to offset (line) 00000170 (include the 0000170 line too), then click on the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste Write'. It will copy Down on to your Mmc card .
Click on the 'File' menu and select 'Save', accepting the warning.

If he sent you a goldcard, then you shouldn't have to do anything to it. Just stick it in your phone. Your buddy has already done those steps. That's what makes it a goldcard.

Exactly, all you have to do is format it in windows and insert into your phone and run the ruu.

You should be set S-OFF for your phone and flash custom Rom (better ship Rom)....

Guys may be i was not clear enough my friend did not actually sent me SD card. He sent me GoldCard.img file

2 things I would check. Make sure the files downloaded properly (check the md5) and double check that the card is formated to Fat32.
my card is formatted as Fat32, and the file Md5 is (2F02DD9A3B7C7F2FE058047B9C7A0245)
does it look ok to you
Thanks for you reply
More info: my G1 is

looks like your MD5 hash there is the leaked .nhb file used for the UK version to get root.
are you placing the WHOLE .zip on the memory card or just the .nhb file (which I belive it should just be the .nhb file like it is for the US version)
so you got the whole card set to FAT32 which is good
then you placed the .NHB file into the ROOT of the memory card (no folders)
You held down the camera + Power buttons and got into the bootloader
-Did you see the rainbow screen?
-Did you see the grey screen that said "press action key to start update" ( action key is the trackball)
and after it updates .. if it did or does go that far (it will say ok next to each line and completed) the you reboot the phone by pressing the Send + End + menu keys at the same time to reboot the phone from that grey screen.
NOTE: this is for the US version .. I am not really sure if this applies the same for the UK version ...
ALSO I found this for the UK version .. its a little different for the key presses .. not sure if they are right but here they are
1.Copy image file DREAIMG.nbh to the SD card
2.Turn the device power off and insert SD card
3.Hold Camera button, and press Power button to entry Boot loader mode
4.Press Power button to start upgrade procedure (the US version is the trackball as action key .. not sure if it makes a difference)
5.After it finishes, press the trackball and perform a soft reset by pressing "Call" + "Menu" + "End" to reboot. (not sure why you hit the trackball the US version doesnt require that .. just the Send+End+menu to reboot)
THEN the rest that you need to follow after it flashes (if you get that far) is all on this link here
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Rooting_Android
steps are from that site
1.Restart your phone
2.At your phones desktop hit the <enter> key twice and then type "telnetd" and press <enter> again
3.Download an Android Telnet client and connect to localhost. If you are unable to connect, try steps 1 and 2 over again until you can.
4.you now have root!
intersetingly ... this method there is no recovery image or spl to download anywhere in this like there is in the US version ... may just the differences between the two phones BUT if you really wanted to compare or take a look at the US version to decide for yourself then go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
hope that something in here helps ya
<My answer in blanket>

You held down the camera + Power buttons and got into the bootloader

(Yes)

(Yes, but after "Checking", i received a error message say, "0200230 Not allowed" message)
Hope it help, Thanks brilliant

I'd love to help here, but I have no experience with that method. I would try searching that thread to see if anyone else has that same problem. If you can't find anything there, start a new thread here describing your problem in the title (it will attract people who have an idea or know the answer).
How to check my SD card's CID? i just cant run the Qmat...
Okay pardon the bad formatting, I copied this from a site I googled and saved it as a html file. Basically you get your device rooted without Qmat or any WinCE device:
1. insert Transcend 8GB sd card into G1 (sandisk may not work. Lower capacities will work and may even be better. Other makes will also work)
2. download Terminal Emulator from the market and open it on G1
3. type “cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid” (without the quotes), and keep the code given (something like 1c5356555344202010041c71f0008c5e)
4. Reverse the code byte-wise ( my 1c 53 56 55 53 44 20 20 10 04 1c 71 f0 00 8c 5e became 5e8c00f0711c0410202044535556531c)
5. Overwrite first two digits with 00s: 008c00f0711c0410202044535556531c
6. On your pc browser, go to http://revskills.de/pages/goldcard.html, paste your code and email address and hit continue (while thinking “thank you viperbjk” or donating some money)
7. format sd card to fat32 (may be good to rewrite partition table)
8. download RC7 from http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/DREAMIMG-RC7.zip and extract
9. download goldcard from your email address (goldcard.img, less than 440 bytes)
10. copy DREAIMG.nbh to SD card (CASE sensitive! Filename very important)
11. unmount /dev/sdb1
12. type in terminal: “sudo dd if=goldcard.img of=/dev/sdd” (result: 0+1 records in, 0+1 records out, 384 bytes (384 B) copied) (assuming your sd is in /dev/sdd)
13. pull out sd card (now goldcard!) and insert into g1
14. hold camera button and press power button once
15. wait until the bootloader finds the rom and push power button when prompted. (if you do not see this instruction, you have done something wrong)
16. Continue with flashing recovery, HardSPL, RC8 etc...
If you do it exactly according to the steps listed, you should get your device rooted. I know mine worked
EDIT: Bleh, formatting was so bad, I had to fix it. Anyway, once you've done rooting, you should look for ways to change your keyboard layout. The German QWERTZ drove me nuts so I remapped mine to good ol' QWERTY
EDIT2:
How to write the raw sectors without having Cygwin or a Linux device:
- download HxD Hex Editor and install
- open program and go to "extra" and then "open disk"
- choose physical disk and then the removable disk. that is the same as your memory card. I've you don`t know with one it is. just remove the card and restart the program and you will see witch one is disappeared.
- uncheck open as readonly !!!!!!!
- go to "extra" again and the open disk image.
- open the goldcard.img witch you have created from Viper BJK website.
- press ok (512 is fine) en then "select all" and "copy"
- go to the removable disk tab and select offset 00000000 till offset 00000170 go to "edit" and then past write.
- save it
You can't create the HTC GoldCard with your G1 or with a card reader. You need a phone running Windows Mobile (WindowsCE). It's the only thing (that I know of) that can write the goldcard.img to the correct RAW sectors.

You can actually. The process has been documented on the forums but it's in the middle of one of the threads linked earlier. Or you can just follow the guide I posted above. That'll guide you through the entire goldcard creation process.
It works, I did it for my German continental G1. Though there are reports that some Sandisk cards report wrong CID numbers. Mine gave the right one
EDIT: There's a way to write the raw sectors without using Cygwin (for sudo if you don't have a Linux box). If I recall correctly, I used HxD to perform that process. Might be wrong, I'll have to check when I get back home.

Qns wrt SG Htc Dream and SDcard

Hi there,
I have a question regarding rooting HTC Dream.
For us SG users, we hav to go thru the tedious process of modifying and checking the compatibility of our sdcards before we can root the phone.
These are the steps we hav to go through inorder to flash RC7/29 and the HardSPL for root :
http://erlern.wordpress.com/2009/06/23/rooting-htc-dream-singtel/
Steps to Install other ROM versions on your HTC Dream (Singtel)
1. Download QMAT http://revskills.de/pages/download.html
It’s a demo version so will only can open for 10 minutes.
2. Format your memory card to fat32. Please keep in mind some card does not work.
3. Search in your android market for ‘Terminal Emulator’
4. type ‘ cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid ‘ without the quote sign.
5. Note that code down on a notepad or something. Make sure everything is noted correctly.
6) Go to QMAT site http://revskills.de/pages/download.html, download QMAT 4.36
7) Extract the file, double click on qmat.exe
8 ) Click on Cyptoanalysis Tools > Crypto Toolbox
9) Look way below, there is a text box (beside “Reverse String” button. Key in the cid number you’ve got earlier
Click on the “Reverse String” button, the result is reversed…
Example: 532600bd227d9c0347329407514d5402
10) Copy the reversed cid
11) Go to QMAT again http://revskills.de/pages/goldcard.html to generate your goldcard (this is free for G1 phone, Thanks to Viper!)
12) Enter your email. For the CID, enter the reversed cid you’ve got earlier. However you need to replace the first 2 characters to 00.
Example: From “532600bd227d9c0347329407514d5402” to “002600bd227d9c0347329407514d5402”
13) click Continue and you will receive the goldcard.img via your email.
14) Go to your email, download the goldcard.img and save it to a directory first.
15) Now, download HxD Hex Editor for this site
http://download.cnet.com/HxD-Hex-Editor/3000-2352-10891068.html?part=dl-HxDHexEdi&subj=uo&tag=button
16) Install and launch HxD Hex Editor program
17) Go to Extra tab > Open Disk. Under Physical disk, select Removable Disk (Must be your SD card), uncheck “Open as Readonly), click OK.
18) Go to Extra again, Open Disk Image, open up goldcard.img which you’ve saved to a directory earlier.
Now, you should have two tabs, one is your removable disk, the other is goldcard.img. Press OK when prompted for “Sector Size” 512 (Hard disks/Floppy disks), click OK.
19) Click on goldcard.img tab. Go to Edit tab > Select All, edit tab again > copy.
20) Click on the “removable disk” tab. Select offset 00000000 till offset 00000170, click on Edit tab and then Paste Write.
21) Click on File > Save. You may exit this program
Now, do a test to see if your SD card is “compatible”
Disconnect the USB cable connected to your SD card, then plug it back again. Go to My Computer, you will see your SD card (E.g. “Removable Disk ( F” ), double click and see if you can access it. If it prompted you to format, then forget about this SD card, don’t think it will work. After trying for days, I ended up buying a Kingston 2GB card.
Click to collapse
Hence i was wonder why do we hav to go through this process, and why are we not able to just flash RC images frm any sd cards ? And also, is this process only required for rooting? (ie. will a 'non compatible' card be able to flash new roms on an already rooted phone?)
With that, i hav some queries regarding SDcards. My current SDcard is a 2gb sdcard which has went through the whole process of rooting as it is 'compatible' for rooting.
However, i will be purchasing a new 8gb sdcard soon. Hence i was wondering if i will hav to modify the new SDcard too, and if SDcard partitioning will work for all sdcards and also, will i be able to flash new roms even if the new card is 'non compatible'?
any help is much appreciated
thank you ^^
issues with goldcard
Is anyone else having problems getting their gold card set up?
I have a class 4 4gb Kingston SD card, which I purchased specifically for this, that I've set up a gold card on SEVERAL times that is not working.
Every time I fast boot on my MyTouch it checks the .img file, then I get an error:
"Model ID incorrect!
Update Fail!"
I know for a fact that my model ID is correct as I pulled it from adb, copied and pasted, and I've followed these instructions to the letter including using the hex editor.
I've also verified that the gold card is functioning by testing its ability to be written to.
Does anyone have any suggestions?? If this is not the place to post, please let me know and I apologize in advance as I haven't been able to find any one else with similar issues.
Feel free to get at me on gtalk:

same here man i have the same card and im getting the same problem. any help would be great guys
Creating GoldCard Problem
I have the same problem. But only the above given instructions to follow for HTC Magic also. But it does not work. Is any one to willing to guide us please. Thanks in advance.
try using the guide I made (link is in my sig)
Its what I did to root my G1 CRC1, worked like an charm
Any idea how to reverse the goldcard and make it back to a normal sdcard?
I tried format the card using window and that doesn't work completely.
I use a 8GB sdcard as a goldcard and now I don't need it anymore since the one-click root works. When I try partitioning on a goldcard, it return errrors like following. Also I try to use windows to format the entire card, the format is succesfully, however when i put the card in the phone to try to use it as one fat32, phone has trouble booting up.
error detail:

Has anyone tried using the 1 Click Root method? Does that work off a virgin SG HTC Dream set?
1a. Terminal Emulator on the phone.
You need terminal emulator to read CID of your SD card on your phone.
You can install ConnectBos - a terminal emulator from the development site.
Starting ConnectBot, then connect to [local]. You will see the prompt.
$
1b. create your Gold Card
* Make sure, SD card for Gold card is in your phone when you check CID. I did not know and I need to do the process twice.
** The 2GB Sandisk one which comes in the box works just fine. **
You can get your CID by copy and paste this line on your phone terminal:
- cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid >/sdcard/CID.txt
Then from your pc, through USB external USB drive, you can see CID.txt.
follow the guide to create your Gold Card.
- Windows: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4289899
- Linux: http://www.android-devs.com/?p=21
Or to get the code from adb from your pc.
Install the android sdk from code.google.com.
adb.exe will be in the tools directory of the sdk.
then: click start run and type cmd
in the dos box type:
adb devices
If your phone shows up, your good to go. If the list is blank, you need to install the driver. control panel>system>hardware>device manager>right click on android phone then update driver. Point it to the usb_driver directory in the sdk directory.
Try adb devices again, if good now then proceed with:
adb shell cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid
That will give you the code.
If you want to copy/paste it:
If your in a dos box (cmd) on xp, right click>select all. Then <cntrl>c to copy Open a new text file then <cntrl>v to paste. For some stupid fkn windows reason(insert moronic windows comment here) you can't select text in a cmd box with a mouse on all versions of win so thats a simple workaround.
The one that came with the Magic is a 2GB Sandisk, and it's formatted as FAT.
Are you sure it needs to be formatted to FAT32? Or can I just use the stock card as-is?
Successfully rooted 32A and flashed with the new radio SPL and rom in cursordroid`s guide, and discovered something in the process of doing so.(when trying to create goldcard) Maybe its been posted before or is common knowledge but I`m posting it anyway.
About the reverse CID procedure:
I found that when using the QMAT software to reverse CID for my mmc I got a reversed string of only 31 digits as opposed to the expected 32.Tried at first to add a leading "0" to get the 32 digits required in step 11.
(I didn`t screw up, got 32 digits with other mmc`s and also tried changing between HTC/samsung brands in QMAT software on the reverse string "page" but sill only 31 digits)
I found that reversing the string manually was possible by dividing the the CID into chucks of 2 and reversing the chunks starting from the back.
example:
exampleCID: A0B1C2D3E4F5G6H7I8J9KaLb (32 digits)
Chunking CID into 2`s: A0-B1-C2-D3-E4-F5-G6-H7-I8-J9-Ka-Lb
Reversed: Lb-Ka-J9-I8-H7-G6-F5-E4-D3-C2-B1-A0
removed dashes: LbKaJ9I8H7G6F5E4D3C2B1A0
->continue to step 11 after replacing 2 first digits with "00"
Maybe people who have mmc`s that dont work should give this "manual approach" a try and compare reversed CID`s before buying new mmc`s as there may be some flaws in the QMAT software in some cases/CID`s.
Btw I used the mmc that came with the phone (sandisk 2GB) and the phone had been RUU`ed with the latest official HTC update (Scandinavian/norway).
Used androidSDK and fastboot to flash everything.
Formatted goldcard using a cardreader because formatting using the phone apparently doesn`t set everything to "00". (phone does a "quick format"? and not a "low level" format)

Interesting. That might happen if the CID string contains spaces (which often happens when copy'n'pasting serials but not entering them manually. I will have a look for it in the next PSAS version, promised.

Root G1 with Latest update

Hey guys I have a stock G1 that was given to me and I can't access the wifi settings thus I cannot sign in. I believe I have the latest update. Anyone know a way around this?

You need to root your phone.....Read the stickys at the top of this section to learn how
It has been rooted before. then I unrooted it gave it to someone to use, it got updated and I don't have a sim with data and now I can't do anything with it. I guess I will have to downgrade via SD stick somehow through the recovery menu and try and run the exploit again.
if your one of those one-click rooters....your out of luck
you will have to root the old fashion way.....hint: RC29 DREAIMG.nbh

Yup, I had the same issue, downgrade to RC29, then follow this:
please make sure you have rc29 or lower by typer (enter)reboot(enter)
if the phone reboots then you have rc 29 or lower.
if not, follow this guide to downgrade to rc29
2. Mount your SD card in Windows and reformat it as FAT32. The HTC
bootloader won't be able to see the RC29 (or RC7) image otherwise. Make
sure you back up all your files first!
3. Download the appropriate image (RC29 for USA or RC7 for UK) from
http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/DREAIMG-RC29.zip or
http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/DREAIMG-RC7.zip . This is a DOWNGRADE
to the Android version that contains a root shell bug (this exploit just
seems too easy). I got these files from the forum thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480 .
4. Extract the DREAIMG.nbh file from the downloaded zip archive and copy it
to your SD card (again, for me, this had to be formatted as FAT32, not just
regular FAT which is the default). Don't put it in a folder, just stick it
directly on there.
5. Disconnect the SD card the right way (eject, unmount, or otherwise tell
your OS you are unplugging it) to make sure the data gets written. If you
used an SD card reader, put the SD card back in your phone.
6. Make sure your phone has a full battery, then turn it off. Turn it back
on by holding down the CAMERA and POWER buttons. This should get you into
the HTC bootloader (the funky red, green, and blue screen).
7. If everything was done correctly, the bootloader will detect the image.
You'll be taken to a different screen that asks you to press the POWER
button to install the image. Do this, but beware, you will lose all your
saved data on your phone (with the exception of things that are synced with
Google's servers, like contacts, calendar, Gmail, etc.).
8. Wait for the update to complete. The progress bar will fill up, then
all the steps will say OK beside them, and finally, it will ask you to press
the "action key" (I think this means click the trackball). DO NOT do
anything until you see this message. The progress bar needs to DISAPPEAR,
not just fill up.
9. You now have the stock RC29 installed. Take out the battery, put it
back in, and turn on your phone. It should ask you to activate your Google
account again -
once you have this done type on the phone again (enter)setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1(enter)
your pc should now pick this up as an android adb device
point it to the correct drivers found in the file called androidusbwindows
once that installs, extract the adb file anywhere on your pc. (best place is root directory)
open up a dos command prompt and type (cd ..<enter>)
then type (cd ..<enter>)
then type adbshell
should look like this thereafter
$
referring to the dollar sign
then copy the following line into your dos command prompt and press enter
(am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.settings/.Settings)
please make sure that you copy the contents of adbwin.zip in your ROOT FOLDER or else you will be going through hell
voila you should be able to access wifi
pm me if it worked for you

Clicdiag

I've come across a ClicDiag bootloader. I believe it's a custom HBoot that runs the Diagnostics suite for the Clic. I had hoped this was an Engineering Bootloader, or a Ship S-OFF
To boot it, extract clicdiag.nbh from the .zip file bellow, and copy it to the root of your sdcard. Reboot into HBoot and it will shortly boot into the Diagnostics mode. The most usefull command is the "F/T1 Test" that enables the USB port to be used as a serial port (I believe, can't confirm this yet).
In F/T1 Test mode, if I plug my Tattoo to a Linux box, I get a ttyUSB device, but, so far, I haven't been able to talk to it yet. Maybe someone more familiar with minicom will be luckier ? Under Windows, it asks for Qualcomm CDMA drivers, but I haven't been able to set this up either.
To the best of my knowledge, this will not brick your Tattoo, but use with extreme care.
RUNNING CLICDIAG WILL RESET ALL YOUR TATTOO SETTINGS, you have been warned.
Report your findings

well done
dude this is progress!!
where did you get this?
i would try this out! if a had a tattoo...
@mainfram3: I need a goldcard or try normally?
Chusen,
Good question.. I have converted my SD to goldcard, so I don't know if you can boot it without one. But, if I recall correctly, the HBoot always checks for those files, even without a goldcard, so it may work (without one).
I tried but does not detect clicdiag.zip in a goldcard mode an normal mode
CLICDIAG.nbh No image file or wrong image
You have to extract it from the zip file and place the clicdiag.nbh in the root of the sdcard.

no rename??ok jeje i try it
same result: no image or wrong image
thanks for you job
Chusen,
Can you try renaming it to CLICDIAG.nbh (clicdiag in uppercase). I just checked and that's how mine is named, maybe this makes a difference ?
I've tried in all caps, may be problem of my SD that is not properly check goldcard?
Yes, that's what I was about to suggest, maybe a goldcard is needed and yours is not setup properly
Apart from try to flash a WWE rom to a CID locked phone, I only know of one way to test the goldcard:
After booting into HBoot, hit the green button (send) for Simlock. If the goldcard is OK, it will react differently.
If the goldcard is OK it should end with something like this:
Code:
0: SD FAT32 init OK
0: Key-card
Wait for AMSS ready...
4: Unlock NV with SPC code
Pass/Fail/NoResponse: 0/0/0
Write PRL to Nam0 (0/0/0)
Write PRL to Nam1 (0/0/0)
4: Set Dynamic NV
Process done, reboot device?
<MENU> Reset Device
I tried in another SD and same result Why???

Here's the exact file I downloaded, just in case the one I uploaded in the first post is corrupted somehow. It's archived in .rar format.

ok downloading and trying..one question: have you a rooted tattoo?
worked!!!, i need some drivers.. sdk drivers???
ok sorry I did not read well, do not quite understand English, I can not help you, sorry
I think it might be interesting in the show menu puts secu_flag gsm info: enable
@mainfram3 I don't suppose you could let me know were you found this at? Or you could check to see if you can find one for the Eris it should be PB00DIAG.nbh or PB00****, any help would be great. Thanks pm me if you don't want that info public. Thanks
Now, we're cooking with gas!
So going to try this out. Hopefully we could get root via this or using this in conjuction with something else.

[Q] Gold Card Simplified?

Is there a better tutorial for making a gold card, I have read it over a dozen times and i still don't get it, I don't know what to do with the command prompt, so I am stuck at that and I want to know it all for sure before I go and brick my phone?
Does anyone know how to do this, or explain it clearer than the original tutorial?
Sure. use this tool and you can't really go wrong:
[PC Application] GoldCardTool, Windows Tool for helping make GoldCards @ MoDaCo
And I don't understand the whole command line part
Unzip the file you downloaded to a directory, then open a command prompt / terminal window at that directory.
Turn off your HTC Legend, then turn it back on with the 'back' button held down. You'll see 'FASTBOOT' written on the screen in a red box. Connect the phone to the computer.
In the terminal window, enter either 'step1-windows.bat', './step1-mac.sh' or './step1-linux.sh' as appropriate.
When this step has completed, REMOVE THE GOLDCARD and either format it and replace, or replace with a different (non goldcard) microSD.
Navigate to the 'BOOTLOADER' and then 'RECOVERY' option on the menu, using the volume buttons to move and the power button to select.
In the terminal window, enter either 'step2-windows.bat', './step2-mac.sh' or './step2-linux.sh' as appropriate.
Help?
If you don't know what that means, maybe you shouldn't be doing it?
Reluctantly this is what it means in terms of the commands on your PC.
So unzip to your Desktop and call the folder Goldcard, open it and make sure the files are located directly in that folder and not another subfolder above that.
Open command line / Terminal and type this...
on a Windows machine:
cd %userprofile%\Desktop\Goldcard
on a Linux machine it's:
cd ~/Desktop/Goldcard
That gets you into the unzipped folder it talks about, where you enter step1-windows.bat and step2-windows.bat or the Linux version of the commands when required.
If you muck it up, you knew the risks when taking this on
Maybe this is a stupid question, but: how do we REMOVE THE GOLDCARD
It isn't mentionned anywhere tu turn off the device, and removing a micro sd involves to turn it off since it removes the battery too
I never did remove it personally.
Is it possible to use the goldcard in more than one phone?? so i created it with my legend, can I use it to update a legend of someone else??
Thanx in advance!!

I found the reason why I think on this forum,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=753374
There are two kinds of CID. There is the CID on your phone, which determines which brand of phone you have - this is irrelevant here. Then there is the CID on your sdcard, this is the card's serial number, and this is what you use to create a goldcard.
So therefor you can use your goldcard with an other telephone, but you can not copy the image of your goldcard to an other sd card.
