[Request ideas] Custom boot animation - LG Thrill 4G

I'm new at this but I was reading online on how to mod the original. I wanna take a crack at it. I'm familiar with animating and rendering in Maya. I'm also familiar with Photoshop. I know we don't have any custom Roms yet but I'd like to do my part and help out. So if any one has ideas please post em up.

How about a play on the 3D feature of the phone? Something along the lines of the Android becoming 3D from 2d in the animation? (popping out of a phone, or something)

I like that idea. I could make a vector 2d android then have him get pushed out of the way by a 3d one.

Yea, that would be pretty cool.
"3D is better"

that sounds like a great idea.

Now the question is figuring out how to get the picture to do that on bootup. Either way Love that idea.

Just Finishing up modeling. Then i have to Rig the little driod.(Give him Bones) Then on to Animating. I was thinking of having him pound on some glass and break thru it and have the shards pass by the camera. But Once its rigged we can play with more ideas.

Looks awesome so far, keep up the good work.

The image is looking good, I'm excited to try it.
Would it be possible to actually kick up the 3D screen while booting up? A 2D android replaced by a 3D android, in 3D.

Thanx for the support guys! The Android rig is comming along. Im just finishing up weight painting. It will soon be ready for animating.

That would be awsome but im not sure if its possible. But if a crazy smart developer figures out how to enable that feature in boot i could make the animation a .jps rather than a .tff
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App

I'm still working in this thing. I'm just having problems with my rigging. I think need to remodel my android with better tessellation, I'm getting really strange deformations.

is there any way we can get that sweet screen off animation with fro-yo?

That's sick. I can only hope someone smarter than me works this out.

Hrm... I'll have to see whats in the latest system dump
feh - of course it's not that simple - not found under /system/media
It may be a framework animation.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
does that mean that its not possible at all and that its exclusive to the nexus s or that we could get it if we (ever) get gingerbread? cause tbh, thats the only reason why i wanted gingerbread lol...

Give it time...the Nexus S dump has just happened so people are probably going through the code. It should happen.

It's both a shutdown animation and for when you lock your phone.
This is one thing that I really want bad. I normally don't give in to animations and haven't found any others that I like. But that one is just awesome.
if it is that means it is hiding somewhere in the framework or it might be some sort if crazy .bin that would take a dev to hack out of the dump s going around.

I hope they get it to us, I want this on my phone bad!
I want this too!!

Works on Android Revolution HD 2.0.7
Thank you, another thing to show off with
Does it run smoothe? This is good stuff hope we can get some devs on this and optimize it.
Pretty smooth. Takes a while to open apps but looks like it's limited to 16mb ram.
Is there a sourcecode for this to optimize it for hd
Does this mean that I can wow on my dhd?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
No, it means you can run Win 95 on your DHD.
Works on CM7-PNK22.
Mouse control by sliding, double click is not always easy tough.
Can't think about any 'useful' thing to do with win95 for now but still can be something to show to your geek friends
Cooooooooool. Thx, lollylost100.
+1
Thanks for this,
I saw it earlier today in i think the X10i thread, was going to request it and found u already had it
cheers again
Cool but cant really do much with it
Very Cool, will try it later
Lol windows 95 is dead for a reason. It sucks. Good for a nostalgic lol though.
Someone swyped my idea.
Now if we could just get the drivers for the wifi etc.. That would be so funny
Haha nice!!
Ain't working on miui....
Not sure if I'm sad or happy

Hmm, i wonder if i can get fallout running on it
nice, but useless ! I was actually looking into this the other day. Shame it dont fill the screen!
Thanks, didn't know it was possible.
Updated with Win 98 image. There are graphical glitches though.

Hey bud this is the same guy who made LauncherPro. He's got some serious skills!
He definitely does... I wonder if Microsoft would come after him for it though. Possible lawsuit?
This is slick. I have a Zune and love it. This looks great.
Thunderbolt says end of line.
Fede should have put more into the LauncherPro "rewrite" he promised some months ago. Guess that will never happen.
Damn this works good.

Word, there are several decent music apps out there but not enough quality launchers
I have been using this since yesterday and it really does rock. I know what you mean about the lack of rewriting on LP, but I do like this player.
Thunderbolt says end of line.
The only thing I'm not understanding in this app is when you have already played a song, where is the "now playing" button or screen? I can only access it from the notification bar right now. Am I missing something?
It's definitely missing a lot of things, like a settings menu for example.. I'm not sure if he ported software files straight off of the zune and tweaked it a bit or built it from the ground up.. but its still a beta and hopefully more options to come soon from him... amazing work
I guess if better download now before it gets taken off. Thanks!
I installed it and.when i open it i keep getting force close.

ICS on the Droid 3 (video)

Hi Guys,
So the holiday and some extra debugging delayed this a bit.
But here's the video of ICS booting on the D3. The background services are of course crashing all over and the graphics still need work.. but you can see for your self:
http://hash-of-codes.blogspot.com/2011/11/you-got-your-ice-cream-on-my-droid-3-no.html
Enjoy.
nice.
Does seem like it still needs a lot of work. How does this work? Do you have to write code yourself just change stuff and drivers so that it works? Good luck any way
really Great im flashing right now just to see how it is

It's more a matter of finding what is broken and then researching for fixes or coming up with the best fix you can.

Overlays are a bit odd.. hit the home key to make them show up better. (crash messages with the "ok" button for example).

Ignoring the obvious continuous crashes from background processes you'll have to let me know how you think the new OS "feels". For me it was snappy. It'll be easier to guage on the next version.

Yeah man I was just about to reply and say despite the crashes this super smooth... blows GB away IMO. Keep it up!
Awesome, but, still far from my XT860.
This is honestly one of the best ports I've seen so far for a Motorola phone. Yeah, of course it needs some work to be used like a regular rom, but not near as much work as the other phones. You obviously have hw acceleration down, thats the biggest problem IMO right there! Good work.
I had to flash back before my battery dropped too low but it worked here. Jelly seemed to have much better luck than I did - my screens were all funky. I'll retry it soon once I'm charged and have more time to fiddle.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Nice, from the look of the video its fast but not that stable yet. Keep up the good work, I would definitely pay/donate if we get a stable ICS ROM out someday.
Ya the os was snappy without the graphic issues or crash popups
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Isn't it obvious that the ROM will be very fast if 80% of the services aren't running/working?

[Q] need for speed most wanted

I am getting a black screen. Did a Google search... Looks like this is an issue. Can't find a fix for this for the HTC One. Any help would be appreciated . TIA
Most of the time if a game or app is broken for a particular phone, it's up to the app developer to fix it.

Can't post the apk, but if you Google NFSMW Nexus 7 MOD you'll find a version that works for our phones.
It doesn't have the blur effect and it doesn't run completely lag free, but it's definitely playable..
Aside from that, don't expect a fix for it...this effects the DNA as well and they haven't fixed it for that phone yet. How long has it been?
Sent from my HTC One
Thanks
Won't hold my breath for a fix then. Thanks.
After the crap EA has been pulling with their games on all platforms, I wouldn't expect much anyway. They've gone to hell a while ago. Hopefully their new ceo corrects things.
