-EXT3 in /cache and optimization mount options

-Include dexopt-wrapper if you need to ODEX your files
Removed :
-Some Livewallpaper
-AppAdvisor
-Livewallpaper->Move to /data/app
-PolarisOffice->Move to /data/app
-Bash binary from previous version
Pre-requisite Installing :
1. Do nandroid first!
2. Make sure you have at least 200MB in /data partition -> will be used by ROM for temporary ODEX processing..
About this ROM :
1. This ROM comes with PRE-ODEX /system/app, it means, it will ODEX after boot for first time.
2. If you want to modify some APKs inside /system/app, make sure /system/apps size not bigger that 115MB, above that size, there is probability ODEX process get failure, and your OS get mess...
3. On first boot after installing, around 3 minutes after first boot, your lovely LG Optimus 2x will get sluggish, so, I recommend you not anything. Just let the phone do ODEX process for while(usually takes less than 5 minutes), after that your phone will reboot
4. On second boot, the system will recognized all ODEX and new optimized APKs inside /system/apps, and for my recommendation, after you get lockscreen, just reboot again
5. On third boot, all system apks already recognized fine by operating system
6. Enjoy it...

If you don't like the fonts, you can always replace 3 fonts in /system/fonts. They are :
-DroidSans.ttf -> usually with light/regular font type
-DroidSans-Bold.ttf -> usually with bold font type
-Clockopia.ttf -> usually same as DroidSans font
Bugs :
Please report any force close application(I can't test all APKs)
Cautions :
1. I don't provide support to implement kernel in other ROM. The reason, it may little hard for me to fix problem if the kernel doesn't compatible with other ROM.

yea, i know that.., that's why I'm really confuse..., is there a problem with those power information in LG gingerbread??? you may take a look another screenshoot when I left my android when sleeping with 3G and all sync on...(I check gmail when I wokeup, last sync is around 5am, so, I'm sure nothing wrong with the network)

Yes I think there is a problem with showing accurate battery/power information in the leaked GB for the O2x .
I'm using the Flair Rom that is based on leaked stock GB and I always only the huge jumps in my battery percentage. It stays for one hour at 95% (even under hheavy CPU load) and then rapidly (in 1min) drops to 79% (in Idle)....

Well my battery still lasts a lot longer with V20C than with CM7, so I guess with optimisations it can be done. But still, theres something not quite right.

Good job Man ! Have you activacte goverrnor ?
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk

The new kernel may be applied to the stock rom gb v20e?

it seems LG do something else with the kernel in v20e, problem like storage mount problem, init.d script load problem maybe caused by kernel. Eventhough, I'm already using latest LG v20e ramdisk to test kernel loading, it seems beyond ramdisk solution. So, unless I know what is the problem, or LG post new kernel source code, I'm going to postpone new kernel release. Releasing for v20c is not worth I think, what LG have done in v20e already great, so, I think we better need wait LG kernel source code...

Hi, me again(it's weekend now)
I've successfully make the v20e run the kernel without almost any problem. The current problem only related with v20e loading time. When I change the kernel, it seems android loading process looks like in v20c, not like in v20e. So, I'm going to check, what's the problem...
Progress :
-Fix SDCARD mount problem->like I said, LG change something, so, I need to match the device location like v20c. It can mount the storage fine right now.
-Add init.d support -> change ramdisk, so now, I can run zram again.. and offcourse somescripts..

wonderful news indeed.

i've managed to fool firmware v20e when using custom kernel loading slowdown, now, custom kernel can loading fast without need to force dexopt..., ok, ready to rumble right now

Good news fajarep. It's going to be released soon then?
(BTW, I heard from GetRIL's author that there's now a v20G floating around.)

ok, no problem, as long LG keep the way they handle custom kernel like v20e or v20c. If they change...., hmm...., need to find a way again
update : it seems, it stop force dexopt in /data/app, but, it still dexopt in /system/app..., OMG.., LG...!!!

this post is to thank you developers and our devices are better than they are, thank you very much for your free and disinterested work, greetings

Hi, i'm updating the first post

Does odex make the ROM a little laggy, as the scripts aren't run during boot?

If you want to overclock your phone to 728Mhz (which is very stable for me) then you need:

P.S
if your device freeze when using setcpu or after you set higher speeds dont worry, just reboot your device and your CPU speed will go back to 600 again, try lower value for OC.

nice @ rtl support.
added to repo thread.
by the way, a few notes:
a) hardware acceleration is off
b) you might consider raising dalvik heap size to 32
c) you should delete titanium backup key since that's warez and it'll bring you trouble
d) 748Mhz isn't stable for everyone, 728Mhz is safer and even so... Megatron is 728Mhz and gave 2 people problems in demanding situations, hence my recompilation to allow 691Mhz @ void ROM.
Thanks!

no no, change to 728Mhz because drellisdee's kernel doesn't accept 691Mhz.
only my version of drellisdee's kernel (included on void) accepts that clock.
other than that, great work

Update notification
Thanks, this is great stuff. Just one question, I'm getting a notification about a newer version v10c ready for download from time to time, possibly only when I'm connected to wifi, do you know if there's a way to disable that? I've tried to remove the update notification app but it can't be uninstalled from the phone and I can't find it under /system/app/ either.

you need a root explorer, then go to /system/etc/security , there is file called otacerts.zip rename it to anything else "otacerts.zip.bak" i am not sure about this way, but there is better method , its by making the phone thinks it has the latest update by doing this:
1.you need root explorer
2.open /system/build.prop for editing
3.find something like this
"ro.build.id=FRF91" and change it to "ro.build.id=FRG83"
4.find
"ro.build.fingerprint=LGE/................./FRF91/e....." and change FRF91 to FRG83
5.reboot
or do the both way!!!
Thanks but I had found Notifications.apk under /system/app which looked like it could be the "update notification" (it had the same icon in one of the resource directories), so I deleted it and at least it disappeared from the list of installed apps. I hope it doesn't break anything else.

[ROM] M11 [M Series][Prototype/Hybrid] Update 5/25/11 - Lockscreen updated

The series that was EDT's first collaborative effort, "M", has returned better than ever.
Stats and FAQ's - READ THIS
Which Modem: KB5
Exchangeable: Yes, with any modem that works best for your phone.
Which Kernel: Supercurios KB1 Voodoo kernel, disabled by default.
Exchangeable: Unsupported but yes, with whichever kernel runs best for you - see the OP of the kernel you want to switch to for install instructions, prerequisites, etc.
Base: I started with a 100% stable version of UVKB5 with 8 lock screens, extended power options, am/pm toggle, ect., supplied by whitehawkx, and merged it with Meizu M9 FRF91, then recompiled several 10's of times until achieving 100% stability, I then merged this with the Meizu M9 GINGERBREAD 2.3.1 Version 20110429.154250 and once again recompiled several 10's of times until achieving 100% stability.
Launcher: Includes only my rebuilt version of the newest version of the rebuilt ARC launcher.
Uninstallable: No
Do other launchers work: Unsupported but yes, most all launchers will work with M11, including TW4.
Theme: Meizu M9 2.2 and 2.3.1 mix with 100/100 accurate battery with numbers.
Can flash other themes: No, the most you can do is theme this framework as it contains a custom set of images and xmls. Technically, you can flash any KB5 theme over this but you will revert it to stock xmls and lose M11. There may be a flashable twframework-res.apk soon to change the quick panel icons, there may not.
Bloat: De-bloated but includes Bloater to re-bloat if desired. Also contains several ARC widgets and Sony wallpaper chooser.
Battery life: Slightly better than any stock KB5 running Voodoo.
EDT Tweaks: No
Can be added: Yes, but unsupported and not needed on M11.
GPS: As usual, built for this rom in particular.
Can flash S.GPS: Yes, but unsupported and not needed on M11.
Sounds: Full set of Meizu M9 GB sounds with English titles and build.prop edits to assign.
Animations: Custom, though subtle, animation edits.
Boot Animation: The original M9 Clone, un-animated, bootanimation.zip with no sound.
Can change: Yes, by renaming the .bak's in /etc and /media - note that there is no shutdown animation, if you want to add it, it goes into /media/video and you will need to remove the .bak from the shutdown in /media/sounds/ui or replace it. This is all unsupported by the way.
Titanium Backup: I am not a fan and will not be supporting the use of the app, even though it is included for your convenience.
Install:
Download M_11.zip and save to your sdcard.
Boot into recovery.
Factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache.
Install M_11.zip
Reboot.
Give it time to settle down and reboot again.
Download <168.77MB> - http://www.mediafire.com/?cbdgassg7cd6w2k
Download latest 8 lockscreen mod <9.41MB> - http://www.mediafire.com/?9ubsqwu2er81wtt - This is a flash, be sure to wipe dalvik if from rom manager or from within recovery.

Experimental updates, bug fixes, etc.
V 1.1 is named framework-res.apk, for Alpha testing purposes, is attached to this post. Push it.
V 1.2 Attached - zipped but not a flash - push it - will fc until reboot. - Pop up boxes are too small, causing text overlap. Will be moving back to 1.1 and going back forward.
V 1.3 - Final Revision attached - zipped but not a flash, push it - With this revision I had to back off from the GB a little and re-merge with FRF91 in order to solve some issues with the rom - This is the last update of framework-res.apk and will be included in the next milestone.
Nice! Downloading!

Not sure for Voodoo Color.
As mentioned in OP, kernel base not coded by me.
I am learning to code kernel myself, when done voodoo profile would be available.
If you want voodoo now, please reinstall Glitch.

What was your previous kernel? Did you reboot your phone again after feeling warm? I faced this same while on Glitch Kernel. The lithium build had Glitch Kernel and I wanted to switch to Atinm's build, hence this release. Everything working quite good this side.
EDIT: Here are screenshots of system info from my phone, I believe battery life to improve with calibration cycles.
some gps fix on the next build makes me excited.
and here i share you something about vibrant GPS. as you know, even if replacing the gpsd and changing settings by angrygps.apk, vibrant GPS works randomly.
i am now aware that only if gpsd is appeared in the battery-consuming list(settings-system-battery-battery use), GPS works well!!!! BUT the dilemma is that gpsd don't launch every time you boot your phone.

Thread updated with latest kernel.
FFC Experimental Support added.
Need feedback which version is better since both version have different files.
Please read OP carefully before flashing.
Hey neobuddy,
Glad to see a new updated kernel around here
So if Im not mistaken, the original kernel is the kernel atinm was creating correct?
Also, what would you say has the best battery life for CM7? And will these kernels give better battery life than the kernel that comes with CM7?

Suppose to work well on CM7.
Working smooth on MIUI.
I will test myself within couple of hours.
And will post results in the OP.

Did you flashed latest v2 from the OP? If no, please do so.
And what ROM are you on?
I just checked with Tweaked Kernel v2. And I am getting gamma hack.

Nope, this kernel is based on MIUI 1.9.30.
I just added changelog, maybe that will solve some of doubts.
I am testing CM7 Builds and kernels.
Will report back and introduce if any better findings.
I just reflashed v2 tweaked and I still don't get screen v1 gamma hacks and the screen is dim at full brightness. I am using the new 2.37 cm7. I am back to Neo17r16 and the screen v1 gamma hacks shows up and works properly with no brightness issues.
Just wanna ask about ffc orientation.. I'm on miui 1. 9. 30 with ffc-6.. (glitch) ang I have a wrong orientation..

Long story short, this is a Gingerbread ROM with stock appearance, but with all the candies we are used to from cooked AT&T versions.
Feedbacks are welcome.
DISCLAIMER: This ROM comes with NO warranty. If you brick your phone, don't blame me, I'm only experimenting with my phone and sharing the results with you, mates!
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP your actual rom and your data before installing anything!!!!!!
- Your bootloader must be UNLOCKED
- I assume you have CWM recovery installed on your phone. If not, read one of the excellent tutorials on this site and install it. (Remember to choose one of the latest CWM because this is a Rom with EXT4 filesystem)
- Copy the file you have downloaded "as is" (don't try to extract the files contained in the .zip archive!) in the root directory of your SD Card.
- Boot in CWM, select "Install zip from SD Card", then choose the .zip archive you have previously copied and wait until the process ends.
- Reboot your device and enjoy your new rom.

P.S. This rom does not wipe your phone (see changelog for exceptions), but depending on the Rom you actually have on your device, you'll need to convert your /data and /cache partitions to the EXT4 filesystem. If you are on an EXT3 based rom, you have to convert your filesystem (/data and /cache partitions) to EXT4 before installing this rom. Anyway, my personal advice is to backup all your data before installing a new Rom!!!
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Sometimes when you reboot your phone at 1.3Ghz (over)clock speed your launcher widgets seem to vanish. My personal advice is to keep your overclock at 1.1Ghz max. No issues at that speed and it's enough for everything (solved in 1.1).
- There aren't status bar icons for 4G networks (you'll see 3G+ instead). The reason is that we have no 4G here in Italy ATM and the 4G symbol is already used in Android for WIMAX....
- With TW4Launcher (1.1) some motorola widgets do not work (you pay the price for having a lag-free launcher).

you could implement the webtop hack in next rev...there are just 2 apk to change and maybe last fugutweaks ... other 2 files to change in system/bin
HI TOPOGIGI,

There is no rom I found here based on international (or better european) original Motorola builds. So, that's something new, indeed.
But the reason that pushed me to release this rom was another: many people here in Italy are complaining about battery life in custom roms based on AT&T builds. The same people are reporting excellent battery life with the stock european rom. So I disassembled all the relevant framework files and found that there are many differences in services.jar between AT&T and european builds. Deep sleep mode and perhaps fast dormancy are implemented in a different way, perhaps to better suit with NA or European networks.
Battery life is excellent with this rom in my experience, but your mileage may vary depending on your mobile operator, I guess....

1) Webtop is not included, perhaps I will incude it in my next release, but I try to keep the download as slim as I can. There are other Webtop CWM-flashable partitions floating around in this forum...
2) No need to implement webtop hacks here. Nebtop.apk works fine here and it does not require system modifications.
3) About Fugutweaks: I personally do not need them as my phone is butter smooth. Perhaps I will test them in a near future. If this is somethingh worthy to have, I'll merge it.
I edited the download link as you suggested. I was used to post the links that way from my previous rom template ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254359 ) but now it's much more clear. TY for your suggestion.

Hi,
I'm not saying that your rom is not bad..just told that it's outdated compared to some existing ones.
The AT&T based roms don't have any problem with signal or battery (for me at least).
At the time I'm writing, the battery is at: 1d 13h 42mn and still have 5% left with a heavy usage: 3G, WiFi, sync, weather...etc turned on all the time and OC @1200 MHz
So do you still think that there's any difference?
Thank you, I will try it when my atrix will come back :\
Ohhhh, finalmente!!!
Sorry......Well Done!! thanks.
The battery consumption was the biggest problem with at&T based roms...

If you are talking about the GB release number (2.3.4 vs. 2.3.5 vs. 2.3.6), you should take a look to GB changelogs. You will realize that nearly all the changes are referring to the Nexus phone. Nothing really interesting for us. Newer is not always better.
AT&T and Euro builds are different branches, so nothing really comparable.

I'm not entitled to have a personal opinion on this, cause I never tested an AT&T build based rom. I'm only reporting what many people are talking about in italian fora. Perhaps your mobile operator copes very well with your rom/baseband, but this is your personal experience, and could not be verified/experienced by others.
And, I do not THINK that there are differences, I simply KNOW that there are differences in the code because I disassembled and compared different builds. Did you do the same?

Hi there,
I did not leave from there. I am just testing a new rom for the O2X too (v20q based) and I'll post it there soon. A promise is a promise, and I promised to release a new rom for the O2X as soon as LG would have some kernel issues solved. The time has come, and I'll be ready to post there in a few days.....
But my wife made me a gift for my birthday one week ago, and the Atrix is so insanely good compared to the O2X....

My roomie has the o2x and you helped make it not a sluggish piece of crap. Glad to see you over here too. w00t
Thank you vey much for this one.
To be honest i havent tested it but i thought about making a international mod myself (regardless of the fact i'm not sure i would be able to to ) cause i agree with you for the reason of differnt code base.
Recently i switched back to stock cause of various problems a had with the At&t ones.
So, i will try this one and once again thank you for making this rom. Oh, and please don't waste to much time in disscussions about it's not being the newest (At least in terms of battery life, 2.2 was unbeatable) and the reason why you did it.
EDIT:
One question. Is TUN by faux kernel or module?
Looks good to me might give this a go and I like the fact its stock european and not a us based rom!

Are you guys struggling to get good performance on Jelly Bean?
Are you sick of cleaning up the system after flashing a new ROM?
Do you want to do something simple like surfing the internet, without having to watch the battery percentage going down with every second??
Then this ROM is for you lazy bums. From the developer of Badass Kernel, coming with a hell lot of tweaking, a clean system, a new kernel and a stupid "commercial-like" introduction, this ROM will make sure you get out your phone every 2 minutes just to admire its coolness.
So, getting into serious business..
This rom is based on CM10.1.0 nightly and my Badass Kernel.
Features:
24-step Volume
Zipaligned and fully optimized system apps
Apps2SD integrated with zipaligning everytime a non-zipaligned app is installed
Clean system, stripped of unnecesary libs and apps
PureAudio engine tweaked to work with any equalizer (you gotta try DSPManager's Bass Boost now)
Dolby Virtualizer activated at boot through snd2354 binary
Youtube app with MP3 and Video download integrated
Patched Services for better multitasking
Updated Superuser and Zipalign binaries
Eliminated SMS-to-MMS conversion when reaching 160 characters, added message pop-up

Android's Native Task Killer values tweaked (no need for minfree script or ram manager)
zRam, zCache and Kernel Samepage Merging fully working and activated(no need for swap anymore)
Perfect Keyboard
Undervolt, Underclock, Triple Buffer and all the other modifications present in my kernel
Really lightweight modified Zeam Launcher
Gapps included
New fonts optimized for LDPI resolution
New proprietary theme
LMT Launcher Pie Control
Smoother SystemUI animations (you have to apply Lenio theme to get these, I can't integrate them in the system yet)
v3
Replaced Perfect Keyboard with zipaligned LatinIME
Added NexMusic player
Resized zRam disk
Tweaked LowMemoryKiller parameters
Enabled vSync(hopefully)
Added Smooth Scrolling in framework.jar
Set correct permissions to /sd-ext folders inside the A2SD script

Badass parameters are more performance biased now
Recalculated Frame Buffer Size for Triple Buffering
Clean-up(remove deprecated CPU governors)
Backport Adaptive RED Net Scheduler from 3.4 kernel
Replace Snappy Compression with the much faster LZ4 Compressor for zRam
v4
Rebase on latest CM10.1.0
Update compcache script(now zRam can be activated from Settings->Performance->Memory Management, it is not activated by default anymore, but it is recommended that you enable it)
Integrate StatusBar smooth animations in the framework. The theme is just for whoever likes the look now.
Whole system Odex-ed
Update kernel to latest version
vQuattro 30/06
Update base to latest CM10.1 nightly
Add Touchpal with LDPI optimized theme
Change SMS Popup layout
Re-think services.jar values for better performance in detriment of multitasking
Adjust minfree values to suit the new services.jar values
Add Now Playing player
Re-optimize apps with a higher threshold of optimizing(goddamn, this took 6 hours)
Take down the NoGapps version to avoid weird bugs(to get a NoGapps version, just delete everything that starts with Google in /system/app after boot)
Update kernel to 1.8
Add SIOPlus scheduler (finally something equal or better than deadline)
Add CPU Idle driver to support C4 Deeper Sleep state
Add Wheatley governor to make more use of the new C4 state.

Copy the flashable zip to sdcard
Wipe data
Flash in recovery
Reboot and wait 5-10 minutes for the first boot
Change CPU governor to Badass or Smartass to get rid of the lag

Be amazed!
PRO Tips:
Use SmartassH3 or Badass with 68-652 MHz and Deadline I/O for good performance/battery balance
Enable zRam in Settings->Performance->Memory Management
Disable logging and notifications in both SuperSU and Setting->Superuser for a performance boost

It depends mostly on the kernel, the performance settings and the strength of the signal(GSM, 3G, EDGE).
I did my best to get a really good battery life in my kernel, but even I get battery drain if I download something on poor 3G signal.
Don't worry about stand-by, this ROM has the best Deep-Sleep management. I got 1% drop in 7-8 hours. Just be sure you turn off the data connection when you know you don't use it.
Nice job:thumbup:
Will try this later
Edit: Do we have to wipe data/cache after flashing the rom??(just to make it clear)
nice work :good:
i could do some more mods for u if u r interested to include in the rom..let me know

Only before. Flashing roms doesn't do any modifications to your /data or /cache partition.

Yes, this is a known bug. It's because of the changed fonts. Does it bother you that much? I'm trying to focus on performance and battery first, I'll get to the layout later.
But fortunately, that's the only place where it's occuring, in the DeskClock app.
No it doesn't bother me that much i care on what's under the hood & yes layout can be fixed later

I'll surely do it but I'm pretty busy right now. Maybe I'll do it until Sunday.

Well, there's not much to see, the only things changed in the layout are the fonts and the centered clock. But I plan on making some real changes in the next version.

How to move app in ext4? Help pls
hello everyone, can you tell me what recovery are you using?
alin.p nice work
wow great rom thank-you... maybe developers could use 'Lightning Launcher' as the system launcher instead of 'Zeam Launcher' as Zeam is no longer under development. Lighting Launcher is only 221k and for it's size it has lots of options and customization... must admit takes some time to setup but once you know how to do it its pretty cool... give it a try http://bit.ly/111XAiW
screenshot, please!!!

If you have an ext4 partition on your sdcard, you must also have a folder named sd-ext. The apps will be automatically installed there, no need to move them. Check if you have the sd-ext folder, it's in the root.

Zeam is not developed anymore because it doesn't anything more. I didn't choose it for it's apk size, lightweight means how much RAM it needs to work, not how small the apk is. And I tried lightning too, it is a very good launcher, but it uses much more RAM than Zeam and it needs a bit of work to get it the way you want it. Zeam is an out-of-the-box launcher and that's how I want my ROM to be also I'll keep Zeam for now.

Please guys, this thread has only two pages, it's pretty easy to read 15 posts. I said earlier that I didn't post screens because there aren't many changes in the layout in this version. Next version will contain a proprietary theme and I'll post screenshots then.
