Just keep your new bootanimation.zip in /system/media folder as you have found out by searching.
Since while system booting it searches in this folder for presence of bootanimation.zip and if it is not there then it will use default bootanimation. Thats why you will not find anything to replace in /system/media folder.
[This works at least in Andro-ID RC2, check out in stock too. ]

Does anyone know where to find the Power-on sound for the Wellcom stock? I deleted the splash screen, and I can change the bootanimation; it's in hidden/data/power-on-animation; but I can't find the sound file. It's not in the same place.
So far I haven't been able to find it by searching with Root Explorer either. I can change the bootanimation, but I'm still stuck with the stock sound.
The only way I've been able to get rid of the sound is to insert a line in the build.prop file to get rid of the bootanimation altogether; that silences it (but then there's no boot animation at all). Does anyone know where Wellcom put this?

did you read the instructions carrefuly ?
Do you have all the necessary files inside npkboot folder?
1. conf
2.haret.exe
3. initrd.GZ
4. modules 2.6.xx.tar.GZ
5. rootfs.img
6. startup.txt
7. ts-calibration
8. zimage
Pay attention for the boot screen text when running Android (the linux print), you will see something like 'switching to rootfs..' command, after this command you will see another command 'press volume down SHORTLY to launch CWM recovery'. When you see the command, press volume down shortly and you will enter Recovery mode.
hope it helps.
the text is extremely small
like jerry said you will see something like switching to roofs at the bottom of screen
then right after at the top of the screen only a sentence will appear and thats where it says press volume down key shortly
if a black screen shows up with a bunch of scrolling white text then haret has started...

also
try a different kernel or in startup.txt change cpu speed from say 652000 down to 614000
sometimes when i try a different kernel other than turbo my screen just flashes and reboots but when I try turbo kernel haret runs
also some people have mentioned they needed to turn down their overclock speed in startup text in order for haret to run
thanks button if it helps

Galaxy S5 Stock Boot Animation Without AT&T Logo

hello all. i got a friend to send me their international qmg files for the boot animation. these files do not have the at&t Logo in it. here is a link to the zip file that has the qmg files inside it. just extract the zip. you need to be rooted for this. then go to system/media with a root explorer and rename bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop qmg files to .bak. then copy the files inside the zip to that location. make sure to change the file permissions to rw-r--r--. then reboot.
you can also get rid of that circle animation during the shutdown animation if you rename shutdownloop.qmg to .bak. this will make only the samsung logo show during shutdown.

thank you very much....i frigging hated that at&t logo :good:

When downloading the file under Windows, make sure you uncheck "Download with Dev-Host Download Manager" and also make sure you choose "Download Now" instead of "Download." If you try to download any other way, you'll find malware.
Hi
Hi I could hear someone spending poweroff.ogg the poweron.ogg the bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg originals of at&t please
Remember to wipe cache after applying. At first I didn't and it caused long boot and system process failed to start dialog. Then black screen with only top notification bar pull down. I rebooted into recovery and wiped cache... Everything all good.
EDIT: I don't know why, but when I did this on my G900A is caused massive hang, and random bootlooping on Lollipop. It makes no sense as it is just a gif and an audio file being switched out. But sure as $h!t I deleted the new files and restore the backup and everything works flawless again.
Worked like a charm

Boot animation sound

I hate the ATT boot sound. Do we have a way to flash over a different one?
i want the same thing but to my understanding we need the logo.img to flash over the att logo at boot. something i cant seem to find anywhere as of yet.
Or if you're rooted, just go into the sound files and rename it . Or just add file extension .bak to file to silence it.
Where is the file?

Can you please share the path?

I too would love to remove the boot sound on the Nexus 6 from AT&T, it's really loud and obnoxious. Any help would be appreciated.

More recently devices have been using mp4
If you have another android:
Pull /system/bin/bootanimation and put it into our /system/bin/ folder
Then you can use zips as normal
Sent from my 0PCV1 using XDA Free mobile app
The bootanimations on the stock rom are in /system/customize/resourse
Download the bootanimation.zip you want to use, then put it in the resource folder, and rename it to the name of the bootanimatiin for your carrier. For example, mine on Boost Mobile is BM_startupanimation.zip (or something really close to that, I didn't look, I just remember from when I changed my bootanimation)
If you want to keep your old bootanimation as a backup, just change its file extention to .bak instead of .zip, but it's also okay to just delete it.

/system/customize/CID/default.xml in Non Sense Rom 1.03 says that the boot animation is in /system/customize/resource/AIO_bootup.zip. All you have to do is either delete that and replace it or change the extension so it is unusable, then replace it, and it should work perfect.

I reboot and it's the default VM one. I go back to the directory and open the zip file and it's all e original VM startup again. So it's over writing the changed file with the factory one. Thoughts?

Fix: Wi-Fi for Illuminated Rom, FALCON for D2105

Guys I was just experimenting with these two ROMS and i found a FIX for Wi-Fi. on The Illuminated Rom( By the Kid). The problem lies in the "data" folder of Rom.zip file.
Steps for fix:
1. Open rom.zip and delete the data folder from the zip file.
2. Add the data folder of which i am giving you the link below, in that rom.zip.
3. Flash it.
Probably due to the wifi customizations made in the data folder previously, it was not working. but it worked for me.!
And also The i found out that in XperiAOSP by the KId, the settings.odex file is present in the system/app/ folder. I think that maybe the problem. it should be deodexed. And try this wifi fix on that also. the files are the same.
Link for data folder https*//drive*google*com/file/d/0B6Yp9LLnb7apN01sQlNfZS0waG8/view?usp=sharing
i have given data.rar . Extract it to get data folder
Sorry for interfering with your files, Ramdenes, The kid

That is the point. i created it(the file) using Android kitchen. if you have just downloaded the file. Then make a folder, "data". Open it. Create another, "local" and place that file into it. OR you can just download the data folder i provided.
It worked for me.! Without a problem.

Note: this is not a flashable zip anyway,.. you have to replace it with the "data" folder in Rom.zip
